Vacation rentals with a fire pit in West Virginia

My family (husband, two kids ages 4 and 6 and our dog) and I greatly enjoyed our three night stay at Alex’s beautiful home. The photos were extremely accurate and we loved the eclectic and creative decorations. There were so many interesting pieces of art and trinkets to look at. The two bedrooms were spacious and had extremely comfortable beds. Everything was spotless and obviously well kept. The kitchen had every appliance we needed to be able to have all of our meals at the house if we wanted. The area was peaceful and in close proximity to the historical lower town of Harper’s Ferry. Even closer was the Bolivar Bread Bakery - a MUST visit. They had the best bread and baked goods I’ve ever tasted. We went every morning and even stocked up on our way home. Overall, I would recommend Alex’s home for a comfortable getaway to West Virginia.

This was an excellent, beautiful place to stay. We all enjoyed our stay very much. I will definitely book another reservation here in the future.

Steven & Becky are GREAT hosts! Super friendly, quick communication and clear instructions on the place. They even left us snacks! (Kid approved snacks too!) The house was squeaky clean and cool when we arrived. The Boomer Bungalow is a cute house and feels just like home. I definitely would recommend staying here and I certainly would come back.

What a nice, comfortable cottage backing onto the Cheat River! The back porch is great for morning coffee & breakfast & the kitchen is spacious & well-equipped. Rowlesburg is close to many nice areas for hiking/biking & an easy hour drive to Morgantown to visit our son. One thing I always appreciate about being home in WV (grew up near the Ohio River) is the open-ness & friendliness of the locals just about anywhere I go.

What a wonderful home to rent! This home had everything you need and was so clean! Hosts are so thoughtful in everything they have done to make a memorable stay. We absolutely loved the outdoor fire pit and game room. What a nice way to end our day and create family memories! Do not hesitate to rent this Airbnb, it is as fabulous! My husband and I and our two boys stayed here for our spring break together. The host gave lots of good recommendations and was very responsive and friendly when I reached out with questions. We had everything we needed at the loft! The kitchen is nice and well stocked and the bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. Good location very close to one of the park entrances. Very close to amazing bridge views, lots of beautiful hiking, and access to the gorgeous river!

We really enjoyed our stay at Amy’s place! The apartment was very cute and homey with all amenities you could need. The location was great for exploring some of the parts of New River Gorge National Park off the beaten path, and it was beautiful and peaceful being right on the river. The trains passing by were a bit loud during the night and the water did have a sulphur smell, however, those things are listed in the description of the apartment, so it did not impact my rating since we came in knowing what to expect. Amy was also a very responsive and friendly host!

Gloria's place was just what we needed. We were just the right distance from the Monastery that we like to visit. Gloria was very sweet and cared for us, even putting down salt on the steps on the really cold mornings. We were able to disconnect from our busy life as a family and just relax. We highly recommend a visit if you want to relax and unwind in Wayne.

My husband and I were very pleased with our lodging. The photos and description were accurate. The rooms were very clean and even though it was still cold out, the heating inside was perfect. We loved how quiet the area was. Out side at night you could hear the proverbial "pin drop". We were within walking distance to all attractions. I would absolutely stay at this location again.

I had such a lovely stay here! The cottage is in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood, with a park close by. Butch provided great instructions on how to get to the cottage, met me when I got there, and walked me through the space. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything I needed for an almost week long stay. I would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking to travel to the area.

I stayed at Sarah’s place for just over 2 months for work - I absolutely loved the space! It’s super cozy and definitely doesn’t feel like you’re over someone’s garage. It felt like I had a homey space to come back to. Additionally, Sarah was incredibly friendly and has the sweetest dog! Definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Charleston :)

It’s a perfect place for a vacation of hiking and rafting. We used it as a respite on the halfway point heading home from a southern vacation. It was comfortable, super clean and a supremely well equipped kitchen. There’s a nice neighborhood bar and grill a stones throw away.

The cabin was beautiful! The welcoming home was perfectly decorated and the scent of the new pine was so soothing. It was also the cleanest Airbnb I’ve encountered. Would highly recommend.

Amelia’s cozy cabin packs in a lot of fun! There is something for everyone. We loved the heated screened porch, kids loved the trampoline, games, building bonfires, and cooking pizzas in the pizza oven. The well stocked kitchen was a huge bonus! The cabin is located in a great community with a variety of lovely walks and is perfectly situated for skiing at Timberline. We also spent time visiting Thomas / Davis. We had a fantastic dinner at Elender’s, afterwards we enjoyed ice cream and music at the Purple Fiddle. But what we loved most was hanging at the cabin and listening to albums. We can’t wait to return! Tips for future guests: For our next visit we will be sure to pack shampoo, soap, as we forgot but otherwise the cabin has everything you need. If you are sensitive to cats, bring allergy pills. The dander is very minimal. Amelia is a wonderful host. She is very responsive and provided lots of fun local suggestions and pizza oven cooking tips!

This cute amish style cabin was perfect for us. A great Italian restaurant is right across the road. Watching the river and wildlife from the patio and firepit set a perfect scene. For those with jeeps looking at trailering, There was plenty of room to park and turn around with a 20 ft trailer. There are also 2 gates in case the turn around is too tight. If we ever make it backbthis way, we will definitely stay again. They also have a few small camping sites in the same area making a group outing work as well.

We stayed in Cabin 3 for Bridge Day weekend. The cabin was neat and clean, freshly painted outside and very clean floors and bathroom. The fire pit area behind our cabin was very peaceful with beautiful mature woods surrounding. This place is very pet friendly and has many acres of woods with trails you can walk you fur baby, which we did many times! The general store at the entrance has a nice selection of household goods, food, and firewood. It was cool at night, about 40 degrees, and the cabin space heater worked and kept us toasty warm. Each cabin has its own water heater for plenty of hot showering after a long hike. The only suggestion I have is if you need extra back support, maybe bring your own mattress topper or a thick sleeping bag to add to the double bed for cushion. We really enjoyed this location as it was only a 2-3 minute drive into the charming town of Fayetteville. Best eats and cocktails we found at Secret Sandwich Society!

Beautiful place me and my boyfriend came here for his birthday we had the best time! Brandi had the space nice and clean when we got there. She is has excellent response time and is very friendly. The cabin itself was amazing the view was incredible! being able to go out and kayak was amazing. The perfect get away for you and your partner! we will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay - beautiful cabin, amazing surroundings and great hosts who were very responsive and easy to communicate with. We felt right a home. The cabin is extremely well organized and welcoming. We will be back!

My fiancé and I stayed in Red Bud with our little dog for 6 nights and loved it so much! The view was incredible and we enjoyed how quiet our surroundings were. Having a cup of coffee on the porch every morning was like a dream. The cabin was clean and very well stocked. We were surprised because it had everything we needed plus more! Most cabins are bare bones but not this. Also if you are someone in need of internet, the internet was perfect and gave us no trouble. We also arrived at night and it was of course very dark, I messaged Rich to help us get to the cabin and he called me and stayed on the phone with us until we were there, which was super appreciated. As far as activity recommendations, the immediate area is pretty remote, but we drove one day (about 40 mins maybe?) to Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory (short but very pretty hike!) and then went to the Cheese ‘n More Store for a sandwich after. The perfect day trip! Both are worth the drive/visit. We will be back!
