Mike's place was perfect for our 3 night trip to the Colne Valley. The farm shop just across the road and pub a short walk away were very handy. The place was very clean and had everything we needed, and we felt really comfortable as soon as we walked through the front door. Would lo e to come back and explore the area more.

Had an amazing time at Holmdene in the Peak District. was perfectly located for all the walking and trips/tours we wanted to do in Castleton. Charlotte & Stuart were wonderful hosts who greeted us warmly on arrival and Charlotte gave us a detailed chat on all the walks we could do tho we didn't get to experience all of them in our short stay due to weather. We had a lovely evening in the pod with friends and we felt very at home in the apartment which was spotless and well equipped for all our needs and we would highly recommend Holmdene to anyone looking to stay in Castleton. we will definitely be back for more visits. Perfect location! Easy walking distance to everything including The Shambles & so many restaurants and great shops. Flat was comfortable size with many amenities provided. Instructions during check in were very helpful and easy to understand. Would not recommend for those with severe mobility issues. The apartment is up 3 flights of stairs. The bedrooms have a slight slope to them. This was not an issue for us but if you have mobility issues this may not be the place for you. I recommend this to those looking for a flat close to everything. Also some nights were more livelier than others. Saturday night had lots of street noise from those enjoying night life. If you don’t plan to join in on the fun during that time, I recommend ear plugs if you are turning in early and sensitive to outside noise. Sunday night was very quiet and no ear plugs needed. None of these things were an issue for us but could be for others. Bathroom was on the small side but suited our needs.

Second stay in lovely home. Host is very responsive and helpful. Home cleaned and very well equipped. Little touches - coffee/tea, washing tabs, etc. all make things super easy. Quiet, peaceful location yet minutes from town and motorway access. Highly recommended

We stayed for 6 nights & it felt like home from home, it is a very charming little flat which for 2 people had everything you needed. It was very clean, well equipped, plenty of hot water & efficient heating for the cooler evenings. It is in a beautiful location with parking available, & walking distance to the Alma Pub, although some of it is uphill. We slept well & found the location very peaceful. Probably the only small criticism would be the condensation in the bathroom as there is no window. But there is a fan that comes on with the light & we also discovered another fan in the small vestibule. We loved staying here & would recommend if you’re looking for a quirky comfy property in heart of West Yorkshire. David was great with responding to any questions & queries. Thank you we had a lovely stay.

Beautiful small annex with comfy bed and everything we needed. Sue was a friendly and helpful host who made sure we had everything and were settled in. She has her lovely art work displayed around the apartment and it is a cosy space. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

The apartment was so nice, great bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge/dining/kitchen. Great views of York Minster, we could relax in the lounge and hear the bells ringing. Perfect location for walking into the town centre, mere minutes from great pubs and cafes. Violet Homes were super proactive and even organised a parking pass for us. We were able to use the car park right next to the apartments. Definitely choose this place if you’re looking for a space for more than two people!!!

We had a really nice visit. One thing that stood out was how peaceful and quiet it was. It felt like we were in the countryside. We both slept well and the bed was comfortable. The location was fantastic, it was a few minutes walk to the city walls and very close to York minster. We will definitely stay again and highly recommend the apartment. Many thanks

Lovely clean flat with all amenities-super extra touches with fresh flowers, milk, biscuits etc. Great local maps with information about shops, restaurants and attractions. In fact the whole experience really could not have been better!

Had a great night here before taking the kids to Eureka the next day. Had all home comforts required plus little touches of continental breakfast. Kids loved walking down to the farm to see the horses, carried on to the bottom to a beautiful field we sat a while before bedtime.

Beautiful apartment with amazing views. A perfect place for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Hot tub was fantastic. The apartment was spotless and a great place to relax. We would definitely recommend staying here and Shayne was a great host.

As a solo traveller looking for some peace and quiet, it was absolutely ideal. The village itself is beautiful but also very, very quiet - no shops, restaurants or pubs so do be mindful if you're wanting somewhere that has these to offer. The only downfall I would say was that the hot tub was available (you need to book a slot) at an extra fee (£10 for myself for a 2hr session) which doesn't seem much, but given the total cost of the stay, I did expect it to be included - however it was still a lovely experience and the shared garden is lovely if you're just wanting to unwind outdoors.

Had a brilliant stay, was met by Kevin to check in, he was very informative and couldn’t offer enough advice/guidance. Vikki was very responsive during communications and always very respectful and clear. The place itself is amazing, very spacious, clean and you get plenty of towels, cutlery etc. The hot tub is very well kept and smart. The hosts are there if you need anything but leave you to total privacy. The view from the back is outstanding and we had a brilliant time. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
