“Extraordinary hospitality of Georg Elen's mother surprising every day with new ideas how to make our stay more attractive. Elen offered us various sweets and more. Beautiful floral decorations. Help with shopping. You can buy fresh bread and fruit directly from the cars. When we overslept and did not buy bread, Elen shared with us. The apartment itself is much better in reality than in the pictures and a beautiful shady yard surrounded by greenery and flowers. We recommend especially for people who want to rest in peace and quiet. Nearby, two beaches, a tavern with good, cheap food and a beautiful view.”
“We just spent the most relaxing ten days at Antigoni’s beautiful place. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures: calm, serene, with loving attention to every detail. It is situated on a big plot of land, surrounded by olive and citrus trees, with a breathtaking view over mountains and sea. Two sandy beaches are within a ten to fifteen minute walk, and every time we went there for a swim or a walk, we had the entire beach to ourselves (!). An added and much appreciated bonus was Aris, a very friendly and playful dog who lives at (but not in) the house. We felt very safe with him as our protector, and we loved playing with him and taking him for walks. There were also some cats who were wonderful, cuddly company. This place is perfect if you are looking for time away from everything, to reconnect with nature, to enjoy peace and quiet in beautifully curated surroundings (and if you love a night sky covered in millions and millions of stars :)) We took several day trips around the island and very much enjoyed the still pristine landscape, the stunning juxtaposition of mountains and Mediterranean Sea. There doesn’t seem to be too much tourism in the area (at least not in October when we were there), so if you are looking for nightlife and shopping you’d probably be happier on one of the more common vacation islands. We would recommend that you rent a four-wheel drive car, since our little rental car tended to have a bit of a hard time on some of the smaller roads (for example the one leading to the property). Antigoni’s house felt to us like a welcoming haven and was just perfect for us. We would definitely love to stay here again! Thank you Antigoni for your warm welcome :))”
Newly renovated Villa Kouvelia, just 100km from Athens and 25km from Chalkida, overlooks mountain, sea, vineyards and olive groves in every direction from its many balconies and verandas. "Kouvelia" offers a tranquil escape from which you can explore the local villages, our beautiful island, and the wider region of Greece.
“The rugged mountain village of Nerotrivia is the perfect place for friends and family to gather and enjoy the best of Greece on the relaxed and charming island of Euboea. The residents in the village and nearby Politika are extremely kind and welcoming, and there are a variety of great eateries, bakeries, and coffee houses throughout. Though hilly, Nerotrivia is easily within walking distance of the home. Our host George was unfailingly generous and quick to respond when we had questions or needs. He even helped us pull our car back onto the road after a small accident (beware the GPS advice) within minutes of the incident (Thanks to George, David, and the rest of the kind residents!). The spacious, marble and tile-floored home is idyllic, with a vineyard-lined stone-paved driveway in the front and views of olive groves and citrus trees and the Mediterranean in the back. There are numerous patios, verandas, and French doors for lots of light and air in the summer months and a fireplace and heater for the cooler parts of the year. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything one would need for hosting big meals. Beach access at beautiful Dafni is just a quick 7-10 minute drive away. In cooler months, there is outstanding hiking at Steni Dirfi just 1 hour drive away and Drymona Falls just 1.5 hours away. Nearby Psachna has a larger AB supermarket for groceries. A small SUV is recommended if you plan on doing a lot of driving on the rugged parts of the island. Enjoy the good life!!”
