“Marie's place is a great getaway to completely switch off. If you are going with kid's, I suggest you do some homework before to try and find little spots for entertainment, or rather ask Marie for some suggestions on what to do. Vaal Marina is a little town with very few places to eat and shop, so I would suggest that you go there well equipped, with all your essentials, meat for braaing, breakfast food and snacks. There is one restaurant we went to, which was awful called the lighthouse. The fish was battered fish from a box sold in a supermarket, the equivalent of fish fingers, as well as their pizza's which they just added extra cheese to , their milk was off and we only saw this after my son drank his milkshake and I ordered coffee. Overall it's a quaint little town. Marie's place is well equipped with everything you need, and the experience overall was exactly what I needed as a getaway with my parents and family, thank you Marie”
