Our self contained studio accommodation, is located in the garden area of the property and features a lovely view of our garden. It is perfect for guests seeking a comfortable and private base to enjoy and explore the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands, Peak District & Alton Towers. There are 3 local country pubs serving food (walking distance) Fishing pool & recreation ground.
“Amazing Airbnb place, hosts Alison and Terry are very kind and there are a lot of special touches in this studio. We stayed here for Alton Towers and it is nicely located to get there within 20 minutes by car. Bed was really comfy and we had a lovely meal at the royal oak pub a few doors along. It was also nice to wake up having milk, tea, coffee, bottled water etc. I would highly recommend this place - we even booked another night to come back here again. Thank you for everything :)”
The Reading Room is a beautiful, self-contained period annexe set in a small, peaceful village on the edge of the Peak District and within easy reach of Alto Towers. It has recently been modernised and furnished to create a comfortable and stylish space in which to relax and explore the surroundings countryside, local towns and cities.
“We had a wonderful stay at The Reading Room. Ian and Nici are very hospitable hosts and made us feel welcome at their property. We were also made to feel very welcome by their friendly dog and cats! The property is of a high quality, comfortable with all the amenities that you would expect, as well as exceeding expectation. Check in/out was easy and Ian & Nici were quick at communicating and happy to help with anything. All in all, a delightful stay in Doveridge - I can highly recommend The Reading Room.”

Hollins Lane is easily accessible from the house, The beautiful Churnet Valley, with steam trains, wildlife reserves are close by, Within 10 miles are Alton Towers, Splash Landings, Waterworld, Trentham Gardens, Monkey Forest and pottery museums.
“Joy’s Barn is amazing, it is beautifully decorated and the bedrooms are luxurious and tasteful. The main living spaces are beautiful and spacious my family of 5 had tons of space to eat and relax. The little extras that Joy provided was lovely when we arrived and we felt pampered. The younger members of the family spent 3 days at Alton Towers and Joy’s place was ideal for this. We spent our time exploring the national park and again Joys place was ideal for us too. Communication was excellent throughout and I really can’t recommend Joy’s place enough. Brilliant value for money and Joy went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. I can’t wait to book again for next year! Super place!”
