May 2025This is the best excursion we’ve ever been on! Michael was an AMAZING guide and host. The hike alone was beautiful and adventurous with Michael pointing out various plants, fruits, and insects along the way. We chose to scramble up the river instead of taking the trail, trekking through various mini water falls and swimming holes. Finally, we reached an epic waterfall where we repelled down and holy cow, this was an experience we’ll talk about for the rest of our lives! Michael is very informative, encouraging, and patient with you as you learn the ropes (literally)! Then, we took zip lines back down to home base, where you also get amazing views of the rainforest. We were also accompanied the whole way by 2 of the cutest doggies, Pepa y Bruno. Michael didn’t just lead an amazing adventure, he gave us an authentic local experience of the rainforest. The home-cooked meal we had for lunch was the best we’ve had in PR. Just book it, Michael will lead you on an expedition of a lifetime!

January 2025All we could say is WOW! This was such a great experience for all involved and absolutely pushed a few of our group of 12 out of their comfort zones. ;-) SO FUN!!! Michael and Juan were awesome from start to finish--great communication, friendly, knowledgeable, *so patient*, safe and FUN! Hiking in the jungle and through the waterfalls was awesome, the rappelling was *amazing* and challenging and SO WORTH IT, the zipline and short hike back were beautiful and fun and lunch!? Perfect. Our group consensus {ranging in ages from my 8 year-old nephew to my 67 year-old dad} was that this experience will be talked about in our family for years and years to come. Off the grid and something totally different for most the group. Awesome.

December 2024Overall, I'd say this experience provides pretty great value. The hike on the trail isn't too long, but its a great challenge. There's a few decent spots along the way to get great panoramics of the valley below on the trail. I'd estimate the trail to be around a mile long. The most value, for me, came from rappelling down the waterfall, and after that would be the ziplines. They're a bit short, but much appreciated when returning down, and you can get some great shots. The dogs are cute, but they can definitely get in your way on the narrow trail - it's still amazing to see them do the hike. Grandma, who is 90 and has lived there surrounded by her family on the mountain her whole life, is super sweet and she cooks food that's ready when you get back. Nothing to write home about, but appreciated nonetheless...she's 90. The guide is certainly knowledgeable of the fauna and the areas history, which makes good conversation on the trail. I would want to do other tours with Michael

December 2024Nature lovers who love a good workout, this is for you. I loved the drive through the mountain roads to the start of the path. We climbed up, and around rock walls, waterfalls and creeks. I loved being among the elements, getting my knee sturdy and my feet wet. And of course, the meal after overlooking the valley was spectacular. Michael’s family was generous to converse a bit about their experiences teaching, particularly interesting to me as I too am a teacher. We left smarter. Michael fielded our questions with interesting responses on our topics ranging from the danger of the psychedelic trumpet plant to the ongoing debates Puerto Ricans have about statehood
versus independence vs status quo. I have recommended this to each person I’ve talked to about Puerto Rico and will gift this experience to people in my life as their birthdays come around. Thank you, Michael!

August 2024My hiking and climbing experience in Caguas was extraordinary! Our guide, Mike, was incredibly knowledgeable and exuded warmth and friendliness throughout the entire excursion. My sister and I were captivated by the breathtaking rainforest and the stunning waterfalls, which truly left us speechless.
At the start, we were greeted by two adorable resident dogs, Pepa and Bruno. Bruno, in particular, stole our hearts and became a charming highlight, accompanying us on the trail.
The hike was a workout, but every moment was enjoyable thanks to Mike's attentive guidance. I wholeheartedly recommend this excursion with Mike; you won't be disappointed!
To top off this unforgettable experience, we enjoyed a delicious meal at La Abuela's house, and we devoured every bite! This adventure is a MUST-DO for anyone seeking a memorable experience in nature!!
