Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Unguja North Region

Amazing place in such a good location in Nungwi - we had an awesome stay here and loved every minute.

My family had a wonderful 4 nights staying at Margo’s property - very private, very large functional bedrooms with fans, air conditioning and private ensuites, plus a separate fully self contained 3rd bedroom. A beautiful pool, 24 hour security onsite, daily house cleaning by Ester. And the dogs were super friendly and great company. If you like football, pack your boots and enjoy a game with the locals on the pitch next door. If you like tapas or just really good food - recommend having dinner at “ To Be” which is approx 1km from Margo’s. Couldn’t find fault with the accommodation or the lovely Margo as a wonderful host, who was available, responsive but also gave us total privacy.

The house has got a beautiful view and 2 min walk to the ocean when the tide is low. When the tide is low, there’s a staircase to the ocean and you can walk into the ocean and have fun. When the tide is high, then you just enjoy the sound of waves as they hit the rocks. The house was beautiful, clean and fresh! The chef was affordable (when needed and she made us lovely local food that we all enjoyed). Everything in the house is new and works perfectly. The pool was clean and so was its surroundings. To Mundhir and his team, thanks for making our stay a dream vacation! Mundhir always got out of his way to get us groceries,takeaway, call for a car hire, negotiate on our behalf and all his connections were always on point 👌🏾 A special thank you to Mundhir! I’d surely love to come back!

I've been staying here with some friends and we enjoyed every second there. The outdoor area was super comfy to chill and talk. When we arrived, Moudy waited for us and asked if we would like a small tour in the neighborhood. We accepted so he showed us a fast way to get to the beach, some restaurants and shops. He also organized our transports. Thank you Moudy - we will be back when the pool is here ;)

We were a little skeptical due to the latest rather bad review. We then booked anyway, as we were able to check in at very short notice and the price was simply great. What luck: it was definitely the most spacious and comfortable accommodation we had on our tour of Zanzibar👍👍👍 Especially the large living/dining room was pleasantly cool despite the heat and we spent a cozy game night there in heavy rain. This room is the only one in the house that is equipped only with metal mosquito repellent and without window panes. So there is always a pleasant breeze through the many windows. Thank you for the lovely stay!

We loved our stay at Maia’s place in Kidoti! We spent our time lounging in the perfect outdoor spaces— enjoying the hammock, beautiful sitting areas, and poolside chairs, walking along the rocky shore at low tide, and eating al fresco under the stars. This is an ideal spot for a peaceful vacation!

Beautiful home in a beautiful area! Staff was all very friendly and easy to communicate with. Very much appreciated the security guard on the beach in front of the house to make our experience more peaceful as well!

I did a booking on behalf of my wife and her friends for a few nights at the villa and boy where they blown away with everything when they arrived. They went as far as missing some of the activities just so they could soak in the ambience of the place. Its a very well put together villa with a perfect aesthetic. Habib on the other hand is a problem. He is too good at what he does and the makes him a very good problem to have in a foreign country. He was ontop of every from the day of reservation to the day of checkout. He helped me plan the whole trip and even advised on ways i didn't know about that helped me save money. He arranged to pick them up from the airport and had a driver take them around the kendwa area throughout thier stay for no extra charge. I went in looking for a host and ended up finding a friend. The staff was very polite and attentive to every need. I highly recommended the place because they will make you feel like you are a part of them. Thank you Habib.

The apartment is perfect for walking to restaurants and enjoying the beautiful beach. Different to most airbnbs we’ve stayed at - Not totally private as it is more of a family hospitality feeling rather than hotel style airbnb. We appreciated the local recommendations and daily clean, comfortable bed, breakfast, meals on request, and the onsite general manager. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and flexible for timings. It is Zanzibar so expect some small hiccups such as short power/wifi/water cuts - a small price to pay for paradise.

The best place i would recommend.. Its the peaceful heaven i would have say... Mr.Boris... my man... he is always there for you... Olga is super friendly couldn't see her directly... but she helped me a lot though immediate response over the chat. The place is the best for the price and consist of 2 pools.

Excellent structure with a very friendly staff and always available. The place is very quiet and enchanting nothing to do with the chaos of Nungwi. Included is cleaning for every day. The house is equipped with everything we needed. If you're looking for a less touristy place, this is for you! We hope this area is always preserved like this!

Me an my family felt at home. Saidi is such an amazing guy. He was taking care of all our needs, showed us around, connected us with other people and made us feel very welcomed. The place is very nice, clean and secure. We will come back for sure and highly recommend this place. It was a perfect stay in a perfect location.

My 3 week stay at Wanja's place was peaceful and I felt at home. Wanja and the Aura Space Team were always responsive to my inquires and accommodating to my needs during my stay. This was my first visit to East Africa and to Zanzibar so I appreciated each of the dining and sightseeing suggestions Wanja provided. The area was very walkable and I met many friendly locals who helped to make my stay enjoyable. I would stay at Wanja's place again.

Abdullah is a great and very responsive host who was always available when I had a question. The apartment is in a good location in stone town but not too close to all the busy areas. It is just a bedroom and bathroom, but if you are in Zanzibar to go out all day and experience the island, and eat at delicious local restaurants you don’t need a kitchen or anything more really. Good water heater and AC also. The only thing I would say it could benefit from is maybe a small table of some kind. Overall it was exactly what I was looking for!

I can't say enough great things about this place, and if we're ever lucky enough to return to Paje we will absolutely stay here again! The place is an apartment in what is really more like a gated community but it's also super close to everything so it's the best of the both worlds - We loved having the pool, communal working space, cafe, parking for our rented scooter, and laundry available and felt super safe because of the security. It was also really nice having a real space to make our own for the week, with a living room + tv, kitchen, and extra bedroom. The beach is a short walk away and there are tons of restaurants on the main the street that are actually better and cheaper then the beach restaurants. If you're only in Paje for a night or two and want to stay steps away from the beach or be right in the middle of the party scene, this might not be the place for you, but we saw a friends room at one of the beach clubs/hotels and were so happy we were staying here instead :)

The staff was the best part of the stay. They were amazing, especially Dan. The property is next to the beach and in the middle of a village. Seeing the African culture and way of living mixed with paradisiac views…was riveting. Several descent restaurants in the area as well. Will definitely book again.

I have already started recommending Christine’s place to others I met on a boat ride and will keep doing so. I wished I knew of her place earlier I would have stayed there the entire time. So worth it. Lovely place

The stay at Mars place was excellent. The place looked exactly like the images. It was very clean as well which I liked. Mars was a very responsive and helpful host and would highly recommend this place. It is a bit of a distance to get to stone town but if you are in no rush theres several available taxis and tuk tuks you can hire. Thanks Mars.
