Samurai Room/Gion walking distance/Free internet

JaimeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My husband and I stayed for three nights in this apartment and it was a great choice for our time in Kyoto. We loved the location on a quiet street that was an easy walk to public transit and the Nishiki Market. The kitchenette worked well for making very light meals. Wifi was consistent. Sugimoto communicated well and allowed us to drop off our big luggage a couple hours prior to the check in time, which we appreciated.
A spacious room features a large bed and dark wood accents. Natural light enters through textured panels, softly illuminating the space. A television is mounted on the wall, and basic amenities like Wi-Fi and towels are clearly indicated.

Private Apartment, 10min walk from Kyoto station

AnnaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The locations in good close to bout train stations. With few good attractions nearby. As well as east access to buses. The room I stayed in was small, however, big enough for one person. Was clean and included everything needed. The thing I really appreciate was an iron. Which is rather rarity if is coming to Japanese apartment's equipment. The kitchen wasn't actually a kitchen just unit in a passage but it didn't bother me as I don't cook on holiday.

Super nice place to stay. The location closed with the train station, supermarkets, restaurants as well. Royce was super helpful, kind and friendly. I still remember when my husband accidentally left his bag in the train, Royce help us without hesitate to contact the officer of the lost&found department and he guide us how to get our bag back. We really appreciate it for Royce help. 🙂

Loved this stay so much. Only issue was check in was difficult and so hard to locate because the address given took us down the block. But all in all we wish we stayed here the whole time in Kyoto!
The room contains two single beds and a futon set on the floor, accommodating up to three guests. A wooden table and a chair are positioned near a window, which is adorned with light-filtering curtains. A minimalist design is evident throughout the space.

Cocrorro hotel is great. The station and Family mart are literally steps away. The room was cozy and comfortable. The only thing you need to be made aware of is there is no elevator, so you will have to carry your luggage up the narrow stairs. It’s a great value! I plan on staying there anytime I come to Kyoto!!

Green Gables 0 is located in the north of Kyoto

AleRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The place is lovely and you get to meet a not-so-crowded area of Kyoto. There are public parks, temples, shrines, and restaurants nearby. The closes train/metro is 1,7km away so if you are a fast walker or you just rent a luup or kotobike that’s the quickest way to get downtown. Else you have lots of bus stops nearby, they just take a bit longer. Best for long stays, not so much for people in a rush.

Sakura River Inn 1 (most reviewed in Kyoto)

MarkRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Mayumi was there when we arrived, was incredibly accommodating and a real pleasure to speak with. She showed us everything in the house and gave us excellent recommendations. She even helped me planned my proposal (secretly) as I need helped navigating the crowds in Kyoto! The unit was wonderful and very much a true Japanese experience compared to a western-style hotel. It was nothing flashy, but had all the modern comforts. There was even an option for doubling up the bedding to provide more comfort for those more accustomed to softer, deeper beds. The balcony was beautiful and relaxing in the mornings. There is a somewhat busy street across from the balcony that hosts ryokans and restaurants, but nowhere as busy or intrusive as the Kawaramachi area (conveniently) just up the block. Just be aware during the day, that there is a some foot traffic 20 feet away if you keep the doors open, it peaks early evening and is empty by night so you can sleep peacefully.

Itami Airport and Osaka University both nearby

EnricoRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Ty's place was perfect for me: just a few minutes away from the Monorail and then the Osaka University Toyonaka Campus, it was the ideal solution to minimize commuting in a very busy and crowded area. Hotarugaike Hankyu station comes with its many convenience stores and food markets, where I could shop daily and come back to Ty's apartment and prepare some dinner. The apartment is very nice and clean and easy to handle. Wi-fi excellent and so heating. Only thing, I was not able to tackle directly the garbage management, apparently rather complex also for locals, and had to rely on the Ty's and co-hosts' kindness and help on that matter. I didn't particularly matter the hustle and bustle of the many Hankyu trains coming and going also late in the evening, but some people may do. For me it was a great experience, and I hope, should my working engagements bring me back to Osaka Daigaku, to have another few days over there.

JR 12-Min to Kyoto Sta. Near Arashiyama & Ryoanji

GiselleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Definitely enough space for 1-2 people. I like that it had an elevator since I’m carrying way too much. Area is really close to two stores - market and grocery store. The grocery store across the street has more variety and better prices than the market near the station. Station is a 3 min walk and you can get to lots of areas without having to transfer. It was a bit pricey but I think most areas in Kyoto might be.

It’s a Jazz Resort !

MichaelRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We stayed at four airBnb‘s in Japan and all have their good points, but this was by far the best. Located in a quiet suburb so not walking distance to the main sites of Kyoto, but with some lovely sites that we would not have seen otherwise Close by. It was as simple Uber ride or train ride to get into Kyoto for main sightseeing and it was lovely to come home to a quiet un bustling local with a wide choice of excellent restaurants to choose among. The apartment itself is spacious, by far the most spacious we stayed in And it’s part of a an apartment complex which has a small gym. Nori and Fumi even served us breakfast all three days we were there in another upstairs breakfast room. To top it off, they picked this up and dropped us off at this train station three days later. All in all it was a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay, well worth the price we paid

Kyostay Iroha Toji Annex - Economy Twin Room

DenaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The location was 10 min walk from the main station in Kyoto, there were 2 bus lines that stop directly in from of the apartment, which was very convenient. The apartment was comfortable and quite spacious, especially for Japan. The place was clean and the beds were very comfortable. It had toothbrushes, shampoos, towels , very good hairdryer and washing machine which we found very useful. The people at the reception were vey kind and helpful, also there is space to store the luggage before/after check in/out.

The room is close to all season beautiful Kyoto

JulianaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
It is perfect for long stay! If you are a digital nomad, this is the place. It felt like home, the apartment has everything for a long stay, it is comfy, organized, clean and has enough tools for cooking. The neighborhood is lovely, very calm to relax and have a local experience in Japan. The only thing is that everything is far, 16 min walking to the subway station and 10 minutes to the supermarket/family mart. 1 hour by subway to downtown in Osaka or Kyoto/Nara. But for long stay this is not a problem once you have time to enjoy the city and the local neighborhood. Also in sakura season, the park in front of the apartment looks beautiful! There is a laundry room at the building so it is very easy to wash your clothes. Masako was very responsive and helpful all the time. I would definetly come back!
