Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Tucker County

Emily and Jon-Michael were great hosts. They provided great guidance on what to expect and answered our questions promptly, both before the trip and while we were there. They also were quick to address minor things that cropped up. The house itself was perfect for our Thankgiving trip, offering a clean, well-stocked kitchen; a big dining room table; lots of places to curl up and relax; and comfy places to sleep. The kids also loved the hot tub! We'd gladly go back.

The hosts were super responsive helping us book last minute to enjoy a weekend of snow. The place was spotless and cozy with all the amenities. One of the cleanest places I’ve ever rented. We had some heavy snow and they checked in on us and made sure the driveway was clear so we could leave early in the morning.

Communication with the host was excellent! The rooms were comfortable. The common areas were fantastic! We had 5 adults in our group and had plenty of room downstairs to cook, eat, relax, watch TV. We worked a puzzle on the dining room table and still had enough room to eat. It’s an older house and had a few quirks (low ceilings in one of the bedrooms, for example) but this just added to the place’s charm.

Claudine was very friendly and was easy to communicate with, very responsive. The home was very comfortable, clean and had all the amenities we needed. The hot tub was great and the Christmas tree over the holidays was nice! The location was very peaceful and quiet but still just a short distance to the slopes!!

This was a special event (NYE/snowboarding son’s 18th birthday) family getaway for us and it did not disappoint. Comfortable, clean, warm, spacious house, surrounded by trees and creek, easy access to ski slope (across street but no other house in the way - you do have to climb the short steep hill up to the slope) and easy spacious storage for gear, great hot tub setup under cover, and very user-friendly kitchen. There were 6 of us and we definitely could have shared with another family if we’d wanted to pile in. House was clean, beds were comfortable. I don’t think all TV possibilities were available on all TVs and the PlayStation didn’t work, but that’s not my realm so I didn’t really care. Had a great time and would love to stay there again next time we can justify it! If ease of skiing straight from the house is worth a premium to you, this is your spot.

What a great place! We appreciated all the thoughtful touches like labels on switches, chargers on nightstands and toiletries available. A very doable walk to and from Timberline lodge (not wearing ski boots, admittedly). Well-appointed kitchen with great appliances, beds and baths all top-notch. Lovely flat driveway. We’ve stayed at many places around Timberline and this one’s at the top of the list.

Everything is as described. Craig communicated very well and I would stay here again. There was a ton of snow. The walkway and parking spots were cleared out for us before we arrived which made everything so much easier on us with our late check in.

Angela’s place was absolutely perfect! It was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed and more. So clean, well equipped, and nicely decorated it was the perfect place to stay for a ski weekend. It’s an easy walking distances to restaurants in Davis and a quick drive to skiing nearby. Hope to come back soon!!

This is the second time we have stayed in one of the apartments under the bike shop/Mountain Trails, and it won't be the last. Modern, clean, and comfortable - perfect for my husband and me. The bed was comfortable, guests in other units were respectful and quiet in the evenings and early mornings. Fun artwork on the walls, basic yet colorful and comfy furnishings. A nice big kitchen with everything we needed for our snowy weekend in Davis. I would have loved to stay longer! If you enjoy being right in Davis when you come to the Canaan Valley, this place is perfect. We walked to Stumptown and Hellbender in the evenings, and to the coffee shop in the AM. No need to use the car until we were ready to head out for the day. Will definitely stay again!

An absolutely beautiful location! I was able to watch the leaves change in fall while soaking in the deck hot tub. The studio apartment was perfect as my home away from home while on a travel nursing assignment. I had everything I needed. I was able to bring my roku and watch my TV shows while relaxing in the recliner chair. The shower is very roomy. I love that a washer and dryer was included. The only thing I wish it had was a toaster oven…but that is a luxury not a need. The stove, toaster, and microwave were perfect for my month stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to “get away” or working in nearby by Oakland, MD. The host is wonderful and very responsive.

The Lucky Duck is a very calm and relaxing place to stay. We enjoyed the views and the local population of ducks and geese who welcomed us as we came and went. The place was spotless & spacious and had all the little things we needed for a great visit. Would highly recommend booking.

We had a fantastic stay here! The place was exactly as described, but even better because of the small details that were taken care of (dishwasher pods, laundry pods, shampoo and conditioner provided, etc.). It was perfect for our family of four and so convenient - will definitely look to stay here again when it’s just us!

Will stay again! 100% recommend if you are staying in the Davis/Thomas area! Easy to reach the ski resort and can easily grab supplies/food you might have forgotten right next door to the Shop n Save! Plus plenty of cute local restaurants and shops to visit! Very responsive host!

This was our third stay at this airbnb and won't be our last! Have stayed upstairs twice now, downstairs once. Our preference is the upstairs because it has two bedrooms. Love the path that is just outside the door - and the spring bridge just over the way. Be warned -- there are a lot of steps to the upper floor - so those with mobiility issues will want to choose the downstairs option.

We absolutely loved it. Alison is a great host and the spa was beautiful and absolutely perfect for our needs! We would book again.

Our third stay at Hillview Cabin was once again wonderful. We were blessed with snow which made the scenery even more beautiful. Warren is a great host, communicated with us about the complexity of the weather in the mountains, and was proactive in plowing the driveway in the morning. Sunrise coffee in Parsons is excellent also. We can't wait to get back!

My husband and I stayed here for a romantic getaway and the cabin was perfect. Nice and private but close enough to restaurants, shops, and Blackwater Falls. We appreciated the full kitchen and comfy furniture, the bed was big and comfy, and the game tables/hot tub meant we were never bored. There was even a beautiful Christmas tree decorating the main room. We would love to stay here again!

Megan and Abby were excellent hosts. The cabin was as described and sooo cozy. It offered plenty of comfy space for me and my three adult sons... the perfect cabin to rest after a full day of skiing at Timberline. The resort had a good amount of snow, so a 4x4 is best for accessing this cabin. My son parked his car at the main lodge, which is a short walk from the cabin and had no issue driving out. My family will return to this cabin and I recommend this cabin to others! Blessings!!!

Our stay was wonderful! It was a little chilly due to the snowstorm but Misty left us PLENTY of blankets to keep cozy! The cabin is beautiful and at night you can hear the creek! Super friendly neighbors even helped us plow the driveway! Absolutely would love to stay here again :)

Great place with perfect location; walkable to the ski lift! Definitely recommend!

Very professionally managed- host was responsive and helpful!. She arranged for easy key pickup since previous guests lost keys. Of note- had difficulty with key lock box upon departure, as other guests have mentioned. We just left keys on kitchen counter. The place was cozy and staff helpful with snow removal. The gas fireplace worked fine for us and was much enjoyable after a few hours of playing in the snow/walking on property. Kitchen well stocked with all you need (dish ware, utensils, storage for leftovers) to cook some meals. The property is absolutely beautiful with plenty of windows to enjoy from inside. The beds very comfortable. There were some minor cleanliness items to note, as expected from listing. Nothing that wouldn’t deter from us staying again or recommending to friends. I saw a cute rodent early one morning. As the listing mentioned, this is a very rural property, having a 4WD/AWD vehicle in the winter is crucial! We’d definitely stay again!

The place was nice and quiet. For someone looking to camp out, but without the tent experience, it was perfect.

My daughter and I had a great time staying at Cameron’s place. We were lucky to get there just before a significant snow fall and found the place to be a great place to enjoy the snow and nearby winter activities. Fire place was all ready with kindling and dry wood for fires after a day in the snow.. the house was easy to find, well equipped, clean and comfortable .. Cameron left great instructions and checked in by airbnb / text message to make sure we didn’t have any concerns .. location was very close to white grass, Canaan Valley ski as well as the restaurants and shops in Davis and black water falls.. thank you !
