Hawker Center in walking distance. Get the real Singapore experience. I recommend ordering chicken rice and a lime juice - cheapest place to eat in town!

SG's hawker centres are fantastic for super cheap and excellent food. Try Xin Fei Fei's dumping stall and the Indonesian place in the far corner. (Can't use chopsticks? Carry a plastic fork.)
