Why locals recommend it

Camino is a special-occasion restaurant. They’re only open for dinner, plus brunch on the weekends, which is amazing. I really love the way they serve tea. They give you a small teapot, which makes about a cup, and then they keep refilling it as you enjoy your food. I love that they do that because people don’t realize that you can re-steep tea! They also do really, really good coffee. They even have a barista during brunch. They do it right.

From the culinary imagination of chef Russell Moore (a Chez Panisse alum), Camino’s short daily-changing menu showcases the best of local organic produce and meats, most cooked over an open fire in slow-food-meets-California-now style. The tables are of recycled old-growth redwood and the place buzzes with bon vivants buzzed on craft cocktails and European and California wines. Reservations essential.

Try their signature mixed drinks. They also have a themed Monday night dinner. The chef used to work for the infamous Alice Waters at Chez Panisse.
