This is our favorite bookstore and a common favorite of Lynchburg book lovers. They have new and used books, cards, and of course a wide children's toy area that our little one always has a hard time leaving. They also have a cafe inside with a signature treat I haven't found anywhere else in Lynchburg: the Milton. It's basically a milkshake of chocolate, coffee, and cinnamon and it's delicious.

I'll admit, I'm a little biased about this place. I've worked there for nearly 12 years but still say the same if I hadn't/ It became my "home away from home" when I moved here in late 04'. The family that owns the store are wonderful, caring and generous people and the store has become a must see when travelling through town. As well as being a new and used bookstore, Givens is home to the largest selection of educational supplies in Virginia and land of unique and hard to find toys. The Drowsy Poet rests at the rear of the store and offers coffee, tea, salads, sandwiches, ice cream and the legendary Milton milkshake. Do yourself a service and try one.

Our favorite Book Store, Toy Store and Coffee Shop all rolled into one. Look for the owner, Danny Givens as you wander this fantastical place!
