Lovely food, drinks, and ambiance. There are several locations and in this one it’s not rare to run into the White House staff.

My pick if you're going to eat before/after seeing the White House. It's a 1 min walk from the front of the White House. Serves excellent tea and baked goods (no coffee) and healthy/ eclectic food options for breakfast or lunch. Note that it's CLOSED ON WEEKENDS.
