Only 14 miles from Croston the pier at Southport is great for a stroll. The beach has miles and miles of sand to wander along.

Southport beach is vast and the sea can go out at low tide for miles. It is a clean beach. But be careful because when the tide comes in it does so fast and you do not want to get caught out, check tide times. Also although you can see Blackpool tower from the beach, don’t be fooled at how close it looks you cant walk there because there estuary into Preston is between. The bird sanctuary is to the right of the beach walk along the coast road to get there.

Not only does Southport have 22 miles of coast it also boasts a Grade II listed pier on Southport Beach.
