Porta is relatively new to Altrincham. Situated very conveniently right outside the Market House steps, it offers a small but perfectly formed tapas menu. What Sugo is for Italian dining in Altrincham, Porta is for Spanish tapas. The slow braised ox cheeks, which just melt in the mouth, are a must-try. You can't reserve a table, just walk in and sit yourself down. There is seating upstairs as well as downstairs - the emphasis is on 'snug'. Some outside seating is also available for the brave few who can't wait until summer.

Okay, another tapas restaurant. What can I say? I love tapas. Set in a quiet square off the busy main street where Salford meets Manchester, this place does the best tortilla!

Unusual tapas selection for example marinated ox cheek . Reservations not taken - just turn up and hope for a table. You won't be disapointed.
