A short hike with big view payoffs! Located in Gerton, this trail is maintained by Conserving Carolina along with another network of trails that connect to Bearwallow. The trail emerges at the top in a mountaintop meadow where in the summer local farmers will graze their cattle.

This is our favorite close to home trail. A beautiful sunset awaits! Don’t forget to ring a flashlight if you’re staying for the sunset.

This hiking trail is a little further from the cottage than some of the other areas we have listed, but it is worth the scenic drive. This hike culminates with distant mountain views from a grassy bald that sometimes has cows roaming free.
