The Best Easy Hikes and climbing in PR. During World War II, Julio Enrique Monagas Park was known as Buchanan's Powder Magazine for its 78 powder magazines (“bunkers”) where ammunition, weapons, and equipment were stored. These old bunkers can be appreciated during your tour of the natural trails that ends at a wooden lookout point with views of the metropolitan area and Old San Juan. The Santa Ana Environmental Center, La Sebastiana Equestrian Park and the K-9 Mounted Police unit are located in this Park. You can spend a day in the gazebos, mountain biking or with nature. Space to practice riding, with a stable area for horses. This park has an area of 93,0777 hectares and is part of the Carso Zone. The Carso Zone is important in Puerto Rico because it affects one of the main recharge systems that supplies the aquifers. This area has a great variety of forests with a high number of species of flora, native and endemic fauna. It contains species in a critical state of conservation. Location: This national park is located in the town of Bayamón. Highway #28, km 4, hm 2. Lucchetti Industrial Center, Bayamón, P.R. Hours: Wednesday to Sunday and holidays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 pm. - 15 Gazebos with table and benches in cement. Includes electricity. $25.00 each (deposit $25.00 each). - Activities room. - Playgrounds for children. - Green areas for activities. - La Sebastiana Equestrian Forest Concession “Bonkers”. - Viewpoint overlooking the metropolitan area and San Juan. - Walking trails. - Private security. - Santa Ana Environmental Center Provides educational programs on the appreciation, study and conservation of the environment. It is the first Natural Center on the Island. It has essentially natural conditions, is close to the city and has its facilities. - Parking fee: Motor $2.00, Cars $4.00, Buses $5.00 - For rent: Open Activity Room with Gazebos Outdoor room that includes 5 gazebos, water and electricity utilities, restrooms and canteen.
