On the left side of Gamla Stan you will find Riddarholmen. Riddarholmen is great because from here you have a great scenic view of the City and City Hall.
he Riddarholmen Church Stockholm’s only remaining medieval abbey, built in the late 1200s.The church is the last resting place of the Swedish monarchs and aristocracy, including Gustav II Adolf, Karl XII, Gustav V and their consorts. The church is open during the summer as a museum. Guided tours.
Only island in Stockholm with no inhabitants. Beautiful place though and you get a nice view of Stockholm City hall.
A small islet in central Stockholm, Sweden. The island forms part of Gamla Stan, the old town, and houses a number of private palaces dating back to the 17th century. The main landmark is the church Riddarholmskyrkan, used as Sweden's royal burial church from the 17th century to 1950, and where a number of earlier Swedish monarchs also lie buried.
