This is an excellent local butchers, very close to the recommended salami shop, and there is a good greengrocers/fruit and vegetable shop in the same locale. Once again the locals queue here so be prepared to spend some time! The butchers all do good sausages (salsicce) and also local specialties called bombetta, or slightly fatty cuts of pork or beef wrapped around cheese, perfect for the BBQ! These were the occasional treat for the farmworkers and as firewood was scarce, were often eaten cooked by the butcher in communal fires (a tradition still practised locally especially in Cisternino where the Rosticceria (butchers where the meat is sold, cooked and eaten at the shop) are famous.
