Take a short trip across the Swilly to North Donegal and Rathmullan. This allows you to explore another area of the county minus the drive. Be warned it's first come, first served...summer ques can be VERY long. But you can go on foot and hang around Rathmullan for the day. Another great option. Only operational in summer so please check dates on their website.

Car ferry across Lough Swilly from Buncrana to Rathmullan. Journey time approx 35 mins. From Rathmullan you can take the Atlantic Drive to Fanad lighthouse. Stunning views on this elevated coastal road.
