In Faros there are three small sandy beaches: The central beach of Faros is located at the end of the asphalted road and it has a wonderful view of Chrissopigi. Here, you will find restaurants, taverns, cafeterias – snack bars and a grocery. On the jetty of Faros, there is a small stone theater, where many cultural events take place during the summer. In the village there is also a municipal parking. The beach of Glipho (=brackish), which took its name from a well with brackish water that has been there from the ancient times till today, is accessible by a short path that begins on the right side of the beach of Faros. There are no buildings on the beach of Glipho. Here starts a beautiful path that leads to the beach of Apokofto and to Chrissopigi. From those beaches one can see the ladder of the mines and the installations for the loading of minerals that were extracted from the mines of this area. There are lights along the path all night long. Fassolou is the beach, which is located on the left side of the beach of Faros and it is accessible by a path that starts from Faros, next to the bus station, or by the asphalted road. On this beach you will find a restaurant. In Fassolou you will also find the monastery of the Cross (in Greek: Stavros) of Faros.

Στο λιμάνι του Φάρου, δημιουργήθηκε τον τελευταίο καιρό ένα μικρό θέατρο, το "θεατράκι του Φάρου", όπως λέγεται στη Σίφνο. Εδώ τους καλοκαιρινούς μήνες πραγματοποιούνται κάποιες πολιτιστικές εκδηλώσεις (μικρές θεατρικές παραστάσεις, συναυλίες κ.α.), δίπλα στα καΐκια και στις βάρκες που λικνίζονται στα γαλήνια νερά. Επίσης από τον Φάρο ξεκινάνε τα μονοπάτια που καταλήγουν στα Εξάμπελα και στο Κάστρο. Το μονοπάτι του Κάστρου είναι ένα από τα πιο καλοδιατηρημένα και γνωστά μονοπάτια της Σίφνου. Από το Γλυφό ξεκινάει το μονοπάτι που καταλήγει στο Αποκοφτό, την παραλία της Χρυσοπηγής. Στις αρχές του μονοπατιού θα δείτε στα αριστερά σας ερείπια από τις εγκαταστάσεις φόρτωσης μεταλλεύματος σε πλοία, (για τη μεταφορά και επεξεργασία του στο Λαύριο), καθώς η Σίφνος είχε ορυχεία εξόρυξης ασημιού και χρυσού στην αρχαιότητα. Ο Φάρος είναι ένα γραφικό ψαροχώρι που βρίσκεται στη Ν.Α. πλευρά της Σίφνου. Ο Φάρος ήταν το επίσημο λιμάνι της Σίφνου έως το 1833. Το όνομά του οφείλεται στην ύπαρξη φάρου, στην είσοδο του λιμανιού, δίπλα στο μοναστήρι του Σταυρού. Στην περιοχή του Φάρου υπάρχουν τρεις παραλίες με αμμουδιά, η Φασολού, ο Φάρος και το Γλυφό, οι οποίες εκτός από τον δρόμο επικοινωνούν μεταξύ τους με πλακόστρωτα μονοπάτια.
