I'd say this is the most special place to see in Fresno. It's literally the coolest place in town on a summer afternoon! If not a wonder of the world, a true Fresno original.

Neighborhood
“Woodward Park is only 3 miles west of our property and it happens to be the largest public park within our community. It is adjacent to the San Joaquin River, and was donated to the city of Fresno back in 1968. The CIF and CCCAA Cross Country State Championships are hosted here every November. It is also the home course for the Fresno State Bulldogs men's and women's cross country teams. Woodward Park also plays host to the Woodward Shakespeare Festival ("Shakespeare in the park") and has been performing for over 11 years and over 311 performances to date. This park also features a famous japanese gardens with many peacocks that roam the grounds. Definitely a perfect place to relax and take in the local beauty all around. If you are a runner or love to walk along designated trails, this park offers many miles of walking paths. Also if you enjoy biking, this park also has at least two BMX tracks for various skill levels. ”
