Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Swellendam Local Municipality

This is already our fourth time staying in Rigby's beautiful house. It is wonderfully located on the golf course, offering a peaceful atmosphere. It's a great starting point for many activities. Rigby and Jean-André are always easily reachable. We are looking forward to our next visit!

We had a wonderful stay at De Vrede - as a plantswoman myself, the garden must've been my favourite part of the whole property. Expansive, wild and prescribed a slower temporal pace I found incredibly fruitful. The cottage itself was delightful too, where we spent most of the chilly evenings by the fireplace. Highly recommend and would most definitely stay here again!

We've enjoyed holidaying at Pieter's house in Witsand for several years now. It's lovely, spacious and well equipped -with a spectacular view of the sea, teeming with baby whales and their mothers. Pieter and Ilse are the best kind of hosts: efficient, affable, knowledgeable and professional.

We were enraptured with Michelle's gorgeous cottage. It is beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need and many wonderful artistic touches, which make it so unique. The bed was so spacious and comfortable The cottage is set in exquisite gardens with stunning scenic views from the front stoep and gave us total privacy. An extra private garden area at the back was a bonus. The leafy village was in a beautiful setting and felt safe and friendly to walk around. We were invited to their New Years eve street party. The highlight of our stay was meeting Michelle, who was warm and welcoming and who went above and beyond to make our stay delightful. All communication with Michelle was easy and helpful. (Even when we had to trouble her re an item we left behind Michelle went out of her way to help resolve this) She booked us in at her nearby restaurant 'Mud modern' for New Years eve, where we were looked after from start to finish. The food was excellent. Thanks again.

We enjoyed our stay at the riverside cottage. The accommodation is simple but cozy, with plenty of relaxing spots around. We appreciated the lovely complimentary touches like coffee, tea, milk, butter, bread and water. There was lots of space for the kids to play, which made it even more special. A place full of good memories! I’m not sure is it’s okay but during the braai was lots of smoke in the house, I advise do it outside.

We had a fantastic experience at Patmos Stay and highly recommend their short-term rental. The cozy and charming setup is perfect for both winter and summer. Special touches in the suite made our stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely return to Robertson and stay at Patmos for a longer period next time!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The host and owner were both very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and comfortable, and had everything you would need for your stay. We worked remotely from here and the setup was perfect. It was very accessible to the lagoon for kitesurfing. Also had a nice big area for washing kiting gear.

Great place with AMAZING views. A bit dated as many places in SA and the wind is very noisy whistling through windows and doors. Would happily stay again and great for a group of friends or family who fish or kitesurf.

It is unfortunate that AirBnB don't have a 6-star rating...as this would be one of them. Nice touches, including doggie biscuits. Thanks. Stunning view and tranquil setting. Well worth it.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cottage! We visited with friends, and the setup was perfect—two bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, made everything so easy and comfortable. What truly stood out were the thoughtful touches: a little olive branch with chocolate on the bedside table and fresh, beautiful flowers in the bathroom—those small details made us feel really special. The combustion stove was a highlight too, keeping us cozy on the chilly evenings, and the kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend getaway. Overall, it was an amazing experience. We truly appreciated the care and attention put into making the place feel welcoming and memorable. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend for any single person or couple visiting Swellendam. Even though you are in town you look out across the river and big trees which creates the sense of being on a farm. Bed was very comfortable and flexible check-in.

We had a really great stay, it is a beautiful location with easy access to Montague and Barrydale. Danielle gave us some really great suggestions for things to do in the area. The farm has some nice walks, and the roads are well kept, very accessible for cars, no 4x4 needed. The farm has some very friendly dogs as well. They were kind enough to provide us with wood and a well equipped kitchenette. I highly recommend it.

My husband, seven year old son, and I stayed on Melanie’s farm and loved it. The accommodation was exactly as shown in the photos and in the description. Melanie gave excellent, detailed instructions and left nothing to chance. We will definitely be back to visit again.

What a place!! The gorgeous interiors and well equipped space made for a wonderful stay. The gorge in walking distance from the farm is just too breathtakingly beautiful. We had an insane dinner at La Costa nearby which used meat supplied by the farm. Outstanding place to stay! Highly recommend. A feast for the senses

The home is a rare gem giving a glimpse of life of the well to do families in a bygone era. We felt very privileged being able to spend a wonderful weekend with loved ones in such a special home. Thank you!!

This place has been on our bucket list for the past year and finally our time to experience it. This place can only be described as a 5star experience where the attention to detail is at the top of this hosts list. The natural pool even though it was winter was the perfect cold plunge! Nestled against the outer edges of the town, it was the perfect retreat for my wife and I to connect! Thank you so very much for hosting us

The house is huge with more than enough space for everyone to relax. Fantastic Jetty and lovely part of the river for water sports. Great big entertainment area with indoor braai for all weather.

It was a beautiful location with many amenities provided at the house. Mike and Megan were great hosts. Would love to visit again.

We stayed one night and really wish we were staying longer! The house is amazing, the grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed exploring the eating and drinking options in the village. Joe and Esther are friendly and provided great suggestions. We enjoyed our stay and if we come back to South Africa in the future this is on our list to return! Thank you for a lovely stay!
