Don is a wonderful host who is extremely knowledgeable about the Adirondacks and the Lake Placid area. I highly recommend this stay for anyone looking to hike the High Peaks, climb, or paddle as Don is an experienced guide with great local recommendations. The house is clean and perfectly appointed with absolutely everything one would need for a long-term stay (including great heat and extensive kitchen supplies- peeler, pots, pans, tupperware, ice packs, crock pot, etc.). The view from the living room and master bedroom of Algonquin is even more breathtaking in person, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet during our winter stay. If visiting in winter, make sure to have AWD and/or snow tires as there is a long driveway. Don graciously plowed twice to ease our minds with the winter driving! Overall, Don's place is a unique find in the ADKs.

My family had a great three nights at this lovely home. Close to town and very warm feeling as soon as you enter. Loved the space, bedrooms are spaced out in a perfect way. Beds are very comfortable, bathrooms are beautiful. Shower pressure was amazing! We chose to cook one night and the kitchen was well stocked and space was excellent. Nights spent in front of the fireplace with a cocktail. Just a great home to spend quality family time together. Thank you for having us!

beautiful place right on the river! Lake Champlain and the ferry are a 5-10 minute drive, and you are able to bring your pup with!

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful. The kitchen was well equipped and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was wonderful on those chilly Adirondack nights. We can’t wait to come back and see what the lake has to offer in the summer!

Wonderful experience and a beautiful place to stay!! It was right on the river which was so peaceful. We walked across the bridge to Origin Coffee which was the best local coffee shop! The house was so clean and equipped with everything we needed! We did ask for an iron and our host had one delivered ASAP! Truly above and beyond service and hospitality. Basement was perfect for kids which is where my daughter and I stayed, we had fun with the bunk beds and had a private shower / bath down there as well. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful surroundings and home. Super close to Whiteface, within 5 min drive. Hot tub & sauna were great after a day on the slopes. Would recommend to family & friends. Hope to return in the future!

We had such a wonderful time staying at Linda’s beautiful home. The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Linda left clear instructions that made it easy to leave the house nice and ready for check out. The hot tub and pool table were a huge hit! We were able to park one car in the garage which was a great perk with all of the Lake Placid snow. The kitchen was beautiful and had everything we needed to make our meals. The bedrooms were clean and spacious, and so cozy. Location-wise, we were super close to town, and only a short drive to places such as white face mountain and the Olympic ski jumps! I can’t think of anything negative to say- we had such a blast and will definitely plan to come back soon:) thank you Linda!

This place is peaceful, beautiful, a gem. I loved hearing the water from the sundeck (porch with windows): looking and hearing the water, feeling so close was a balm and beauty. For those seeking rustic beauty, you cannot do better. The home is well set-up: cozy, stocked, inviting. The sky is full of stars, the tide comes in and out, the woods are just there. David's local recommendations were also outstanding, making us feel like visitors welcomed personally. We followed several of his suggestions at an easy pace: and so soaked in the quaint Brooklyn, WoodenBoatSchool, and gem-of-a-library. It was autumn with some rain, some cool, great beauty always. In other weather we might have done a campfire or bbq. Lovely seats outside. There were more places to sleep than we imagined there might be: it was just my teen son and I, so we didn't even go to the loft. This is a cozy cabin on the sea, with exceptional grounds and a good soul for host!

Corey was a great host and the place was super convenient to downtown Saranac; a five minute walk to nearby restaurants and bars. Corey was very responsive, usually responding in less than 5 minutes.

Goergeous place. A perfect location for our girl's weekend. The views were incredible and the setup was perfect for our low-key weekend.

Barbara was a wonderful host! She is very kind, thoughtful and accommodating. She made us feel at home and was very helpful. Cant wait to return in the summer! 😊

Loved our stay! Incredibly clean and quiet. Even more beautiful than the pictures. Location was fantastic. Incredibly close to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Hot tub overlooking the pond was definitely a highlight.
