Sitting pretty in a wild flower meadow surrounded by open fields, this barn conversion is countryside simplicity at its best: updated appliances and rustic furniture arranged for open-plan living to relax unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. The barn is located in the meadow behind our thatched cottage. The space is entirely your own and is self catered with a well equipped open plan kitchen. We're on hand should you need any advice or assistance during your stay, though you'll have your own privacy and can interact as much or as little as you'd like. Enjoy pastoral tranquility here whilst being within an easy 10-minute reach of the medieval charm of Lavenham. Public footpaths are close by or venture further afield to admire the beautiful Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds. Once you arrive in the barn, there is a small collection of books about the surrounding area and county. We can of course recommend places to visit.

In the pleasant village of Great Waldingfield, with a pub, village shop, and close to Sudbury (3 miles), Lavenham (4 miles), Bury St. Edmunds(16 miles). Roger met us and showed us around the cottage, and made us feel very welcome. High quality accommodation with very comfortable bed and lounge area plus an excellent bathroom. A very generous welcome basket, which included prosseco along with milk, local eggs, jam and bread. Toilet rolls and towels all provided. Everything needed to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The enclosed secure and floodlit paddock for the dogs was really useful too. Along with dog beds, bowls and towels for the dogs if we needed them. We would happily go back again, and highly recommend.

We (2 adults and a nine-year old) had a great short stay at Melissa’s barn. It was very cosy, beautifully decorated (with great attention to detail), and Melissa was a friendly and responsive, but un-intrusive , host. The hot tub was a particular highlight and we enjoyed the wild-life friendly garden very much too. We had not realised how pretty and interesting the surrounding villages were in advance, but very much enjoyed discovering Constable-country (Flatford in particular). In all, a lovely place for a few peaceful days away.
