Lake house vacation rentals in Sproat Lake

We had a wonderful time at Shawnigan Lake, staying in Todd's beautiful cottage! It was perfectly situated right on the lake, with a fantastic dock space perfect for swimming and other activities. We were close to the train trestle, a lovely walking/running trail, a restaurant with a picturesque lake view, and a corner store for quick purchases. Grocery stores were about 15-20 minute drive away. All in all it was an incredible place to vacation for an active family! Thank you so much Todd!

There are very few Airbnb hosts like William who genuinely care about their guests experience and are willing to be accommodating when things don’t quite go to plan. The house and location are picture perfect but it’s the host that always makes it worth coming back which we definitely will!

Beautiful home, clean interior, comfortable beds, lots of little spots around the house to sit and take in the gorgeous view. We had an awesome time on the lake with the canoe and would definitely go back. Sherry nd Ross are welcoming and really good communicators. Thank you again for having us!!

We stayed in Wendys guest suite for 7 days over Christmas while we visited family in Lake Cowichan. Wendy had thoughtfully decorated the suite with extra christmas touches that made us immediately feel like this would be our home away from home. The suite is well equipped with a lovely view of the Lake. Wendy communicated promptly at all times. We would definately stay here again!

This artfully designed mid century modern treasure is perfectly situated for a swim in the river then a hot tub warm up. With the fully set-up kitchen, making a gourmet meal is easy. Having the commercial espresso machine means lattes on the covered patio watching the river or the elk in the yard. Angela’s place is comfortable, clean and perfect for a retreat vacation. Absolutely recommended!

We had a weekend on the lake at Scott’s! The place was cozy during the snowy weekend. Beautiful lakefront spot with incredible outdoor area that you can enjoy year round. The hot tub was great to relax in and look over the lake. Would absolutely come back here again!

We were all adults and it was a wonderful place to hang out and have a good time. Plenty of sleeping room and bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen. Lots of dining space and outside area for relaxing, playing games and hanging out. The main dock was great….perhaps a little more shade at the dock on those real hot and sunny days?

We had a great stay at Ping Ping’s place. It is rustic as advertised, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was bigger than expected. Two bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms, two living/sitting rooms, a dining area and full kitchen. We had lots of space for a family of four! The location is private and the dock and kayaks were a bonus. The beds were comfortable and having two bathrooms was great. There were also nice bonuses like Keurig coffee pods. We recommend Ping Ping’s place very highly!

Great location on the lake. Can walk into Lake Cowichan in 10 minutes and public boat launch is 5 minute walk away. The house is well stocked and had everything we needed. We were 2 families (8 total) each with 2 older teenage boys and felt like there was ample space and sleeping. Lake is across the street, and there is a beach and good sized dock - one in our party had a broken ankle and wasn't able to walk the path to the water but we were able to ferry him over on the boat from the public dock. Dawn is quick to respond and available for any issues. We will be back!

We stayed 2 nights at the home. The owner was incredibly responsive to my questions and provided information on local restaurants and hiking trails. The home was well maintained, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed. Including lots of spices for cooking as well as an air fryer and propane BBQ. I highly recommend this property.

A really nice, quiet and clean cabin in Garden Bay. Very nice neighbourhood, close to the beach and lakes and only a short drive to stores. Both indoor and outdoor fire pit options available and the beds are comfortable.

I wish we could have stayed longer at Suzanne's place, it was a home away from home! The bed was comfy, there were books and games, the kitchen was stocked with tasty treats, and there was so much art, love, and attention to detail around the house. And I absolutely loved the shoe dryer, what a great thing to have :D I hope we can come back to explore more of the lake and if we do, I would love to stay here again.

Everything went perfect. Place is older and basic, which is totally fine because it is well maintained, squeaky clean and everything worked as it should. House is quiet and although close proximity to other homes we didnt hear a thing. As a 3 bedroom I highly recomend this location for families looking for a peaceful getaway. Mike

Amazing place, really well laid out, excellent kitchen, very cosy by the wood burning stove. Keyolynn was really helpful gave us excellent recommendations, you have to eat an oyster from the beach if you're there at the right time of year.

Peaceful, tranquil little cottage with a natural window in the trees to the sea 🩵 Hadn't visited Sunshine Coast before but this was just right for our needs. Our dog Finley enjoyed the fenced outdoors & spending time with Frank the dog :) Well laid out cottage, had everything we needed + a comfy bed. Enjoyed sitting out on the covered deck of an evening, scent of lavender all around. Annie gave us all the details needed for a great stay. Friendly & available for any questions, .. not that we had any need to ask of anything :)

Great stay, wonderful experience, spectacular view, friendly and responsive host, super clean. Would definitely go back there and enjoy the beautiful Sunshine Coast in this beautiful place. Private access to the ocean was amazing where we could take our paddle boards into the water. We saw plenty of seals while paddling.

Gorgeous view! By far the best home we've stayed in, in Lake Cowichan! This home is stunning! The relaxing sauna and locally-sourced welcome basket with baked goods, etc was such a nice touch. We highly recommend staying here! It had so many extra amenities: yoga mats, board-games, plush robes, beach supplies, barbecue on the patio, etc. The bed was ultra comfy with pristine bedding. The unobstructed lake views were outstanding, we wish we could wake up here every morning! We hope to stay for at least a week when we come back to rent paddleboards & tubes to float the river this Summer. The location is perfect, very close to the shops and restaurants. The kitchen was stocked beautifully, so we cooked every meal during our stay. Everything needed was at our fingertips! Shawn and Alexandra were lovely and welcoming hosts, and let us have our privacy during our stay.

Great stay! Super clean and easy check in/out! Only thing is if you’re looking for a completely quiet place, you can definitely hear the family that lives next door/upstairs quite a bit!

Our stay was beyond amazing! The host truly surpassed our expectations with thoughtful personal touches, including toys for our kids, and was incredibly responsive throughout our stay. They thought of everything we could need, making it a completely stress-free and relaxing experience. The location is perfect, with plenty of food options and outdoor activities, plus great fishing nearby. The place itself is spacious, spotless, and comfortable. We’ll definitely be booking again in the near future! Highly recommend!

I'm a repeat visitor to this house. It is a perfect spot to get away for a few days or more. Nothing like those amazing sunsets and relaxing on your own private dock on the lake!

My son was excited to visit Lake Cowichan since he used to spend summers there with his grandparents. We would see this home on our walks and i was excited that it was available. My son and husband said it was a great place, roomy, clean & a great location. They both do marital arts and my husband enjoyed looking at some of the books in the library.
