This holiday home is about one thing: peace.
If you enjoy the sound of your own thoughts to the back drop of the breeze through leaves, this place is for you. A true get away, a holiday for the senses, unwind under an olive tree in the mountains...

The space
Nestled in the nook of an ancient olive terrace this property treads delicately on the landscape. Built underground with a strong ring like shape the curved ceilings and lightwells are a feast for the senses, changing the interplay of light as the sun moves overhead. With two cool double bedrooms to the rear, a bespoke shower room and huge dining/kitchen/living area. A 4m high atrium filled with plants, floods the property with natural light at it's centre. We love up-cycling our roadside finds to make beautiful original furniture and do so wherever possible. From the agricultural fruit boxes to our washing machine drum bathroom sink, the decor is certainly different! The kitchen countertops are made from polished concrete and are made in situ to fit the space. We love lighting and have coloured lights in the kitchen that smoothly shift through the rainbow just for fun! Access to the internet, DVD player, and stereo. Large shaded fly free area to the front of the property for dining al fresco and lounging enjoying the stunning mountainscapes. Built in BBQ area. We love to make atmospheric spaces for the comfort and relaxation of our guests.

For winter stays we provide firewood for the wood burning stove which will heat the whole house. There is no additional heating.

The house is 4km drive on an alsphalted track to the pretty riverside village of Tivenys where you will find all local amenities and a very relaxed atmosphere. A further 20 minute drive takes you to the medieval town of Tortosa. The Els Ports nature park is a 40 minute drive, the coastal beaches 35Km, the nearest being L'Ampolla.

The energy at home comes from the sun, so we don't have a toaster, coffee machine, or oven. Please only use devices with low consumption.

The house is run completely from solar panels. For this reason we do not have a toaster or kettle or coffee machine (we use the gas hob). There is no oven only the BBQ and hob.

Water from the tap is not potable.

The nearest small village is 4km from the house. A riverside sleepy farming village, the central preoccupation being to grow enough veg to give out in crate loads to friends and family all year. The house itself is set at the foot of craggy mountains, once epically cultivated but now abandoned olive groves. The majestic trees still hold a mysterious charm with stone farmers dwellings dotted on the landscape providing windows into a peasant past.
