The Taing - cosy stone built cottage on the beach

HannahRating, 5 stars15 months ago
We loved every second of being at The Taing. We were here five nights for Up Helly Aa and we felt it wasn’t long enough. It’s so peaceful and private, with all the amenities you need. We watched the January storms roll in by the fire and felt very cosy inside. We’d give it 10 stars if we could, we can’t wait to come back!
The chill-out room features sloped ceilings with exposed wooden beams, providing a cozy atmosphere. A comfortable black sofa is positioned beside a white side table. A television stands on a white unit opposite the seating area, with a potted plant adding a touch of greenery.

Newhall Cottage

GailRating, 5 stars3 days ago
We were absolutely delighted with Newhall Cottage . Perfect location , just a few minute from the ferry , with wonderful views. Really clean, warm and comfortable and extremely well equipped ( including our first experience with an Air Fryer) We felt so chilled out and relaxed and did some great walks from the cottage with no one else about . Lindsay and Kim were absolutely lovely - very attentive but at the same time giving you space and privacy . Would love to return and would highly recommend

"St Catherine's", 2-bedroomed cottage.

PeterRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our first trip to Shetland and well worth the effort (from Wiltshire) This lovely cottage in a quiet spot was a great place to stay. Plenty of room, all the facilities worked as expected and the view from the lovely conservatory was great. Scalloway is situated about 1/2 way up from the Southern tip of Shetland, so it's a perfect place to base a trip. The cottage is a 5 minute walk from the harbour side and there are two general stores in the centre of town. So if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place to relax after a hard day touring the islands, We can highly recommend it.

Town Centre Apartment Fort Charlotte Ground Floor

JamesRating, 5 stars6 months ago
beautiful 3 double bed apartment. Spacious, spotlessly clean with everything you would need contained within. A real home from home. the location was fantastic. Central and everything within walking distance. We hired a car to explore the island and get us to and from the airport. Ample parking on the road outside the flat. Carina, our host, popped in on our arrival to welcome us and was very helpful with her local knowledge on good places to go. Our three day visit was a great break and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Shetland and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. 10 out of 10!

Cozy Seaside Shepherd's Hut - St Ninians Isle

JayRating, 5 stars3 months ago
What to say about Yvette and her perfect little shepherd's hut. Fantastic views overlooking the sea. The hut had a little bit of everything in it to make the stay even better. Even down to a emergency sewing kit for just incase. And then there's Yvette the wonderful, amazing, kind and amazing host. Words can not express how brilliant and perfect you are. Personally would pick Yvette and her little hut over a 5 star luxury place any day of the week. Thank you for making the time in Shetland so memorable.

Lovely 2 bedroomed apartment in town

EllieRating, 5 stars3 months ago
A huge thanks to Jean and David for such a wonderful warm welcome to Shetland! The flat is so cosy and you have both done an amazing job of creating a home from home, warm cosy and functional space. We absolutely loved our stay and a huge thanks to you both for all the added kindness with helpful tips for the Up Helly Aa, local info and early check in and late check out. We had a brilliant few days and we’re so lucky to find you after a cancellation. The flat is the perfect base for exploring. Super cosy bed, great location, so quiet and heaps of space to put adventure gear and to make ourselves comfortable. We cooked two nights and ate out at No 88 kitchen bar in Lerwick and would highly recommend! Kitchen at the flat was super well set up with all the basics and great range of cooking utensils etc. What a wonderful info to Shetland! Thank you both, and try the haar spa when you can. We had the best time! For anyone thinking of visiting Shetland, do book with Jean and David.
