We had an amazing time staying at the farm, surrounded by stars at night. The hosts were super friendly, they welcomed us with mezcal and tamales, and made sure we didn’t go to bed hungry. The cabin is basic, but the bed is comfy, and the sheets are clean. Thank you!!

We had a wonderful visit to Calpulálpam de Mendez thanks to Yolanda, Marta, and David! The cabin was very comfortable and cozy, staying cool even when the daytime temperature spiked and staying warm enough overnight for a restful sleep -- plus, they even provided firewood for the fireplace. Marta gave us great local recommendations via chat, and everyone we spoke with in town (in Spanish, never heard a word of English) throughout our stay was incredibly nice. We hired a local driver from Oaxaca City to take us to and from the pueblo. The more affordable alternative seemed to be taking a colectivo van from outside the city to Ixtlán, then hiring a cab from Ixtlán to Capu (but we didn't take that approach because we had some luggage and have limited Spanish skills). However you get to Capu, please make the effort to visit this peaceful mountain town and pay respect to their community :)
