“I have a good kwento (story) to tell ;) My team and I went here yesterday without any expectations. All we want is a quick break from work and just chill. And friends, it didn't disappoint. It gets more relaxing as the day goes by. The faint sound of waves from the ocean, about 2-3 minutes away from our room, is mixed with non-mainstream/indie music echoing throughout the place. Talk about relaxing mash-up. At night, the divine breeze from the ocean and the cold Christmas weather lingered on our skin. Quite a serene spot for a chill night if you want to do chikahan over chips and beer (which is, by the way, not that expensive if you ask me.) They even lend us woven mat so we can (day)drink and chill by the shore. Like what I said on one of my IG stories featuring the beautiful sunset at Liwliwa, the whole experience kinda makes our adulting city life suck by 200%. Though a part of Kwentong Dagat is still being developed with more rooms, it didn't hinder us from absorbing all the zen, province vibe this place exudes. The air-conditioned cabins/villas look quaint, exotic, and artsy with or without your VSCO filters. Comfort-wise, you'll get what you paid for. Pillows could use more stuffing for me. :D For pet lovers, there are 3 adult aspins – all are docile, sweet, approachable, and super charming. There are cats too! (Not a cat person so I won't tell you anything about them.) If you wanna have a nice story to tell about how you used your weekend (or your fake Sick Leaves at work hahaha), consider this place as your setting. :)”
The Fishers (The Fishers Liwa) is seated at the center of the chill and laid back surf spot in the town of San Felipe Zambales. The owners, Kay and Carlo, run the business to share their love of nature and inspire guests to embrace simple living, sustainable and responsible tourism.
“Kay and Carlo was accommodating. They let us check in at 10 am since we arrived early in The Fishers Hut. The place was peaceful and serene. It is everything you would expect from the photos and reviews given by travelers. If you need a time of from your hectic schedule at work or just want to keep your mind off of things this is the place to go. You can meditate, eat, drink, read, swim, and smile to your hearts desire. Once you go there free your mind and enjoy the moment.”
The hostel offers 6 bunk beds between 2 common rooms; 2 bunk beds that sleeps 4 on the ground floor and 4 bunk beds that sleeps 8 on the 2nd floor. Every bed has its own individual fan, light and window. The common toilet and bath is detached from the the main house and is located at the back; 2 toilets, 2 showers, and 2 sinks.
“Host: very hospitable and cool Hostel: The hostel is simple that offers wooden bunk bed with individual fan, small locker and light. It also comes with curtain for privacy . The restrooms are also clean though there are no tissues provided. Location: It’s 10-15min walk away from the beach. The alley towards the hostel is quite dark but it’s fine with me bec it’s away from the hustle and bustle. Vibe: I love it bec of it’s chill and laid-back vibe. The hostel is simple fill with trees. They also have hammocks but quite small. If you are looking for a place in Liwa that is away from the noisy walwalan area, I would definitely recommend this. Though, I hope the vibe will be maintained. Kudos to Payak hostel! 😊”
