I recently stayed at Balay By The Sea for my birthday retreat, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Nestled near Vigan, this picturesque hidden villa is a peaceful haven—perfect for anyone looking to escape the noise and reconnect with nature and themselves. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. The villa is beautifully designed, blending rustic charm with modern comfort, and the view of the sea is absolutely breathtaking. Every corner of the property feels thoughtfully curated, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere. Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying coffee with a view was the perfect way to start each day. The staff went above and beyond to make my birthday special, and I couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful and meaningful celebration. If you’re looking for a quiet, soul-refreshing getaway near Vigan, I highly recommend Balay By The Sea. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience that stays with you.

We enjoyed the place. Everything went smoothly. However, there are other people camping just outside(beachfront) so if you don't mind sharing, it shouldn't be a problem.

I had a great stay at Donna’s place. The accommodation was very comfortable and exactly what I needed for my trip. It’s budget-friendly without sacrificing quality, which I really appreciated. The location is also very convenient—close to everything I needed, including shops, restaurants, and transportation. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, which made the whole experience even better. Donna was a wonderful host—very accommodating, responsive, and easy to communicate with. She made sure everything was in order and that I felt welcome throughout my stay. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in a great location!

Location was about 10-15 minutes away from Sta. Catalina beach and Vigan Plaza center which was good and the place was very peaceful, all you can hear are frogs and crickets at night and goats and chickens in the morning. However, since the place is quite secluded, public transpo will be hard to find. The interior and exterior was very cozy. Parking area can fit two SUVs, they also have CCTVs. They have spacious common areas and bedrooms, which all have air conditioning. The bathrooms have water heaters and they provided us with towels. The kitchen is also spacious and provided with Refrigerator and Water Dispenser. The kitchen has basic cooking utensils. They do have a rice cooker but they only have one pan for pan-fry foods. So if you plan to cook big meals, might as well plan to bring your own cooking pans or request to the host. Hosts were very responsive and accommodating. All in all would highly recommend this place if you plan a trip to Vigan or North of Ilocos.
