Inveraray itself is just over an hour’s drive from Glasgow. The town is a gateway to the Highlands & Islands and provides a great base for day touring.

Wee Coo Byre

Converted former byre in bucolic surroundings. Located just outside the village of Strachur, it is an ideal stop for anyone walking the Cowal Way and is close to the unexplored mountains of Cowal and the beautiful Loch Eck and Loch Fyne. The little cottage shares a garden with the main house (where I live most of the time) and is set amongst mature trees, rippling burns and abundant wildlife including chirruping birds, red squirrels and pine martens. A lovely place to unwind and relax.

Open all year. Argyll Retreat is a cosy timber cabin located in the Argyll Forest Park and Loch Lomond and Trossachs Natiomal Park. It is owned and managed by myself. The lodge is layed out for a couple or solo travellers and pets are very welcome and stay at no extra charge. There are many activities in the area for the outdoor enthusiast and Argyll is steeped in history and has miles of coastline, lochs, forests and mountains. The lodge is also a great place to relax. The bedrooms (one double, one twin, one single) and shower room are upstairs, with the living room and kitchen/diner on the ground floor. Bedrooms, living room and dining area all have views looking between the trees to Loch Fyne. The patio area and bench is a quiet spot to enjoy the view. Inveraray is about 65 miles west of Glasgow on the A83.

A purpose-built family home with a large enclosed garden and off-street parking. The main street with all its amenities is a 2 minute walk. All public rooms, WC/cloakroom are ground floor, upstairs there are 4 bedrooms, one with a modern en-suite, plus a family bathroom.
