This free Smithsonian museum is in the heart of Gallery Place. It has a beautiful courtyard where you can sit and rest. The art is terrific. It is open 11:30 am to 7 pm. You can go there at the end of the day after other museums close.

In addition, there are many brick and mortar stores and restaurants surrounding it. I take all of my out of town friends here to visit it.

You will need a Smartrip card. You can get one a the metro station.
