If you're downtown and looking for a place to grab a bite, look no further than Café Parvis. Set in the old fur district, on a small hidden street, Parvis used to be an old fur shop. It has been opened up and peeled back to reveal layers of history. Casa Del Popolo (or simply Casa for the regulars) is a pretty unique place. It's been around for a long time and attracts a mostly anglo crowd of artsy and slightly hippie type (and I mean that in the best way possible). During the day, it's a café that also serves great vegetarian sandwiches. Then at night, it turns into a bar with DJ's playing anything and everything, from synth-pop to 80's to techno, indie, you name it. Connected to it is a small venue that hosts concerts on a regular basis. You can catch a lot local bands a well as bands from abroad touring. Les Étoffes is an upscale clothing store for men and women. They have a masterfully curated selection of garments from some of the nicest brands and designers. It's not cheap but if you're lucky and your timing's right, you might be able to score a piece at a discount. At the end of the season, it's not uncommon to find pieces at 70% off. The owners, Diana and Chris, are super nice, friendly and unpretentious.

Off The Hook is Montreal's mecca of streetwear. Located in the heart of downtown, on the second and third floor, you'll find a great selection of sneakers and a nice selection of clothes (mostly for men). It's pretty much always busy and loud. Expect to hear the latest rap tunes.
