This is one of our favourite places to eat, ask to sit upstairs on the ‘top deck’ if possible, it has an incredible view of the estuary. The food is excellent!

City/town information

The ancient market town of Barnstaple has a long history which can be seen reflected in the unique architecture and pretty cobbled streets. If you enjoy an afternoon pootling around antique shops and independent delicatessens selling locally sourced produce, then you will love Barnstaple! Below are just a few of the shops that we highly recommend: South West Cheese Shop (Barnstable) Orchards Farm Shop (Barnstable) Fields Farm Shop and Butchery (Barnstable) The Good Stores (Barnstable)
