My favorite local restaurants

These include my favorite walking distance restaurants which also happen to be some of my favorite in the city, period.
The pizza is the best in the city. A bit pricey but well worth the experience. Make a reservation for weekends or go during off times during the week. And it's walking distance! If you like cocktails they have some of the best.

Amazing food in general but especially fabulous for vegetarians and vegans. Their buffalo cauliflower is on my list of Top 5 best foods I've ever eaten. No need to drive, it's about a 10 minute walk from the house.

An amalgamation of mexican meets asian fusion and it's amazing. The spicy tuna guac and steamed pork buns are my go to's. Plus they have delicious margarita's. This is a fun spot for a lively meal and they offer outdoor seating.

If you love coffee, this place is a MUST. For iced coffee lovers try their on tap cold brew and for those who like an iced latte try a black and tan (mix of their cold brew and latte). They also serve a mean breakfast and bread galore!

Favorite restaurants (center city)

These restaurants are a drive or subway ride away but well worth going the extra distance.
Rated #1 best restaurant in Philly. Their food and service is outstanding. Their reservations open 60 days in advance and they go fast but you can find a seat at the bar during the week if you're not able to get a dinner reservation (also see dizengoff, a sister restaurant with to-go hummus that will rock your world).

A meal of hummus you say? YES. It's a must-try in Philadelphia. Mike Solmonov's hummus restaurant is one of a kind and it will ruin your experience of other hummus forever (but still go!).

Amazing food and drinks. Try to get seated in their basement where they offer the full menu. This is a great spot to grab dinner or a late night bougie snack. They also have incredible drinks.

Transportation

Here's the closest and best way to get around Philadelphia by subway
.6 miles from the house it's a 10-12 minute walk from the house. You want to head toward center city and then it will take you to center city and university city all on the same subway train.
