The park Klambratún/Miklatún is really close to the apartment. Only about 3 minutes walk from us. This open park has become more popular over the years for playing games, basket ball, beach ball, Frisbee etc. Or just walking or jogging around and enjoying yourself.

You might think that Icelanders had a saying - We will move the mountain if it doesn’t come to us. You might know that Iceland is known for its black volcanic beaches and maybe not known for sunny beaches. Well instead of surrendering for that natural fact Reykjavik decided to set up a man made white beach where warm water runs into the ocean so it is not freezing to bath. But a sport that has also become ever more popular by the Icelandic vikings is ocean swimming (in cold ocean not the heated up one) where they even go in the roughest winter colds into the ocean in bathing suits to swim. Try it out.
