Ban Thai is the best Thai restaurant in Reykjavík in our opinion. You need to be aware of two things though - 1. You might need to wait for over an hour for your food 2. the food here is some of the spiciest I've had. The cost isn't too high, but due to the spiciness of the food we've often end up multiplying the price with the cost of beers.

The BEST Asian food in Iceland without a doubt. Their website is very outdated and the menu isn't on it, but don't be fooled, the food is absolutely amazing. Ban Thai is truly a hidden gem when searching online for food experiences in Reykjavik and we couldn't recommend it more. But be warned, they mark the spiciness of the dishes on the menu with one jalapeno being the least spicy and five being the most. A three spice dish and anything above that is truly, truly spicy. If you like spicy foods we recommend trying a three spice dish to begin with (the Green Curry dish is excellent) and to work from there.
