  • Wonderful time staying at this lovely cottage a few footsteps from all the great things on offer in Whitby - beaches, shops, pubs, boat rides, museums and more! The cottage is brilliantly located and very comfortable - ideal for families (youngest in our party was 3yrs) with easy access to all the attractions and the little beach practically just across the road. All the facilities were excellent and Aron was really helpful in all communications. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Thank you!

  • Fantastic quirky and characterful cottage in a pretty perfect position, very close to the sea, Brilliant for a family holiday or a getaway with friends. Bedrooms are light and airy and the downstairs space very sociable. Plenty of storage space provided and we immediately felt as if it was a home away from home. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and hope to return later in the year with the sunshine!

  • Very nice and clean cottage situated in a charming neighbourhood - full of atmosphere. It is big enough for five persons. It was easy and quick to communicate to Aron. Highly recommended!

  • This was our second visit to Henrietta St and we were just as pleased as with the first. The street is just below the Abbey steps and a minute's walk to the town. We were there during (and because of!) the Goth Festival and it was a pleasure to watch well-dressed (and well-behaved) goths wandering by on their way to the harbour. The house is immaculately clean, nice and warm and very comfortable. It has pretty much everything you could need for a weekend away. We took advantage of the wifi and also watched a dvd and I read an interesting book about precious stones from Aron's collection. Aron was very patient with us at the booking stage and is always polite and helpful. The street is only wide enough to take vehicles in one direction and the nearest parking is either at the top of the 199 steps to the Abbey or back through town. So it's fine if you want to just drop stuff off at the beginning of your stay and pile it all back in the car at the end. But if you needed to be regularly in and out of a car that might be worth bearing in mind.

    Paula2014-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed out stay in Whitby and the cottage in Henrietta Street was in a great location and very cosy. Aron was a great host who provided useful information and responded promtply to emails. The kitchen is not particularly well equipped so I'd advise other guests to take things like salt and pepper, olive oil, tin foil etc if they plan to cook at the cottage.

6a Henrietta street A charming cosy cottage, situated in the heart of old Whitby near the 199 steps leading to the famous Whitby Abbey. The perfect location for a romantic break away The space GROUND FLOOR: Lounge/ Kitchen/ Diner: Flat screen smart TV with Netflix & Amazon Prime, Fibre Optic free WIFI, Sonos multi room WIFI speaker with Spotify. Extendable dining table and 2 chairs, puzzles and games. Beautiful original fireplace. Kitchen: Fridge/freezer, electric hob, fan oven, dishwasher, sink, kettle, toaster, microwave. FIRST FLOOR: Bathroom: Double sized shower tray with dual rain/ shower head, washbasin, toilet and heated towel rail. There is a detailed page in our welcome pack with advice on parking including links with maps. Henrietta street is in the cobbled streets of old whitby, really central for the shops, pubs and cafe's - but there is no public parking. Our road is very quiet, and on arrival you should have no problem parking up to unload. We usually unload bags - and I drive to park and walk 5 - 10 mins back to the cottage. Depending on where you want to park - we always find free parking a short walk away, but you can pay to park nearer, or use the park and ride car parks in the summer. Whitby Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. For a different day out, why not climb the famous 199 steps to reach the ruins of Whitby Abbey. It's said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stokers Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch. There's always something happening throughout the town, and festivals and fairs are held throughout the year including Whitby Goth Festival, Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta.
  • A comfortable stay in a clean and well equipped cottage located near to the abbey steps in the old town of whitby. We parked in the public car park near to the endeavour pub near to the swing bridge. Bars and restaurants are close by our favourite being the abbey wharf.

  • Everything about this property is absolutely lovely, from the location to the duvet. A well stocked kitchen, with many amenities to keep you occupied if the weather isn't that great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Dave and Kate went further than most to make our short stay perfect. Instant responses to our enquiries, extremely helpful and went beyond the call of duty to help us and make our stay perfect. The cottage is beautifully clean and cosy and in an amazing part of Whitby, just below the evocative abbey. Thank you for making our little winter holiday perfect. We will hopefully be booking again and we recommend staying in Dave and Kate's glorious cottages. Thanks again.

  • 6a Henrietta Street is a lovely warm cosy cottage - ideal for two or a single. Located in the old part of Whitby just below the Abbey Steps. It has everything to make it home from home and the bed was sooooo comfortable. The cottage is located close to shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants and of course the Abbey and beach. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would book the cottage again.

Two-person flat with private parking and views over the marina to Whitby Abbey. The flat is part of a townhouse built for sea captains in the 1850s. It is on a quiet terrace a few hundred metres from the town centre. Minimum stay 2 nights. Park at the front of 2 Esk Terrace. Marina View is to the left of the steps leading to No 2. Note that Satnav may direct you to the back - you should go to the front which overlooks trees and the harbour.
Good-sized living room and offset kitchen. Separate double bedroom and bathroom with shower. The living room has a woodburning stove, available for use by arrangement. There is a tv and a dvd player. There is an outside patio with table and chairs.
The flat looks over a private roadway on which there is a dedicated parking space for guests. It is a quiet place with easy walking into town, and out of town along footpaths.
  • Took my husband and small baby away for his first fathers day. We were looking for somewhere in walking distance of the harbour, with easy parking and an outdoor space. This place had them all. Was really surprised how spacious it was, as the pictures make it look smaller. The log burner was a lovely surprise too, with all the wood stacked outside. The bedroom easily fit the travel cot in and the whole place was perfect for our little family. Will definitely stay here again :-)

  • Quiet location with great views but close to centre of town and all facilities. Parking a real bonus. Apartment was clean and cosy, with everything we needed. Kieran was friendly and helpful but not intrusive.

    Paul2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kieran called to check we had everything. Pleased with our stay. Flat comfortable and had everything we needed.

    Ann2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kieran was very welcoming and the apartment was in a great location for our short break in Whitby. The accommodation was clean and tidy and the shower was great. I highly recommend the apartment but just note you will need to provide your own soap, shampoo and bring a hair drier.

    Julie2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it here, Kieran is a welcoming host. The flat is in a central location yet quiet. It is close to the bus and railway stations and has a private parking space. Whitby's attractions and shops are near. The accommodation is comfortable, well equipped and clean.

    Diane2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The door was open for us to go in. Heating wasn't on but shortly after I text Kieran, he cam down & sorted it for us. Log burner was laid & ready to light - bonus & very snug once it got going. Comfy bed & constant hot water. Short of nothing we needed. Car parking provided. 10 minuet walk to the Marina so didn't need the car at all while we were there (2 nights) Quite a few steps up to the house - not a problem for us.

My property is right in the heart of Whitby, 3mins walk from the bus and train station, 5 mins walk to the swing bridge, I have recently fully refurbished so everything is new and clean and very comfortable. There are plenty of pubs and eatery's in Whitby if you don't fancy switching the oven on. The pavilion in Whitby has lots of events, music, theatre, crafts all year round, so lots to see and do!!
The entire flat, which has a open plan kitchen/lounge, upstairs is the bedroom/bathroom.
Perfect location for Whitby town centre and bus and train stations, just minute's away
  • Great location, lovely aparment. We couldn't have asked for anything nicer. Parked in the harbour long stay perfect at £7.50 for 24 hour. When we return to Whitby we will definately look to stay at Cadame again. Thank you Carol

    Steve 2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic apartment ideal for a weekend in Whitby. Very clean and with all you need to stay in and cater for yourself and with the location just 100 yards from the main harbour area, pubs and restaurants, it means you have the flexibility to come and go as you please several times a day! I would recommend Carol's place to anyone wanting a stay in Whitby, although if you do spend time in the apartment, as it is a basement apartment it is difficult to get a Wi-Fi signal!

    Jason2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Whitby was made complete thanks to the amazing Carol and her lovely apartment in central Whitby. Everything accounted for and contact with her was quick and informative. Would love to come back and I highly recommend other people to pay a visit to the place!

  • My partner and I very much enjoyed our stay at Cadame, it's well-appointed, cosy and in a good location for enjoying lovely Whitby

    Iain2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was clean, tidy, and as advertised. A short walk from the station, it was easy to get to and a great based for exploration. Carol was great at communicating and really helpful!

    Simon2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very central, spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable accommodation with everything you need at hand.

    Cath2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. You go into it down steps but don't worry, the kitchen/lounge is pretty light and the bedroom and bathroom upstairs are very airy. My partner called this place "a marvel in miniaturisation" with everything you need in 3 rooms. The home is pretty central, a 3 minute walk from the Main Street. The kitchen was well-equipped so we had a homemade meal in (having spent our budget on wine). Brill. We'll be back again.

    Sian2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for one night and Cadame was perfect; it's very modern but also very cosy and the location is great, right next to the bus station. It had everything that we could conceivably need for a weekend away and lots of thoughtful little touches. Carol was so helpful too, offering to let us drop our bags off before check in if we wanted - would definitely stay again!

  • Kikas cottage is perfectly located in Whitby. My mum and I stayed a couple of nights and we loved the little house. I brought my dog and found that Whitby was extremely dog friendly also. A bonus was two newly hatched sea gull chicks on the roof of he adjoining house. "Chick Watch"! We were warmly greeted when we arrived and everything you need is in the house. • A wonderful apartment and a lovely place to visit. I could not fault the experience at all. Check in and check out were simple and easy, which was great as we didn't have to waste anytime getting in or out. The place itself is perfect for a 5 minute walk into the town centre and parking was easy to find. Would definitely come again. Perfect for a little holiday away.

    Jon2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this charming, quirky property. The interior is quite spacious with a well presented kitchen/living room,. a large airy bedroom and a bathroom with bath. However, it is on the top floor so there are lots of sloping ceilings. Our hosts gave very clear instructions about access to the property. They had also provided information regarding local amenities, sights and activities. There are two rubbish bins by the kitchen, clearly labelled for recyclable and other rubbish and there was clear information about the bin collections in the area. We stayed here for 8 nights and had a lovely time. Although there is no dedicated parking for this apartment, we parked on a nearby side road and did not need to move our car again until our day of departure. The X93 bus service runs along Prospect Hill; this runs from Middlesbrough to Scarborough.

    Janet2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place with a view on the Abbey from the window. Very close to the town park or around 10 min walk through picturesque Whitby to the port. Free parking available in nearby streets. Communication with Carol, check in and out was very easy. Also, Carol prepared a folder with information on places to go and see in Whitby and surroundings, that's how we found out about the guided Ghost Walk which we very much enjoyed. Very happy, totally recommend.

The Rockpool is a two minute walk down Bagdale into town to the bus and railway stations; the swing bridge and beyond to the piers, lighthouse and the beach. You’ll love the cottage because of it's location and convenience, quietly tucked away in a traditional Whitby yard opposite the multi award winning Pannett Park. It's a beautifully restored boutique bolt hole / beach hut finished in a contemporary coastal style with hidden depths in its design..... Perfect for two or just for you.
Originally inspired by the coastal cottages of Runswick and Robin Hoods Bay, The Rockpools been a ten year labour of love and learning. Once a stable then a fishermans cottage it's now been beautifully re-imagined; re-designed, hand fitted and furnished to celebrate the best of the space and the place to an immaculate standard.
The Rockpool is quietly tucked away in its own private little yard just off the main road down into town. Its close enough to be in the town centre within a couple of minutes walk but secluded enough to feel quite private; safe and secure and just short distance away from the all the thriving hustle & bustle that makes Whitby unique. As a space its perfect for Birthdays; Anniversaries, Romantic Retreats, Study Breaks, Solo Quests, Babymoons....you get the picture (s). As a place its perfect for exploring town; its myriad of yards; the coastal paths, the old railway line to Robin Hoods bay and everyday pub & restaurant adventures...
  • First off, full praise to the host, Ben. From the moment we booked our stay at The Rockpool, Ben kept in touch via email to provide clear instructions on finding the cottage, and closer to the date provided a wealth of info about Whitby with recommended places to visit. It really helps you make the most of your visit. The Rockpool itself is an amazing location to stay at while visiting Whitby. Tucked away in a secluded location, it feels very private and quiet. Inside is very clean, very nicely decorated and very cozy. Would highly recommend to others and hope to be back soon.

  • Rockpool is a tiny cottage but incredibly well thought out and immaculately presented. It had everything we needed for a few days and was very comfortable. Ben was extremely helpful.

  • Very cute little cottage only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Whitby - perfect for a few days escape to the seaside!

    Pippa2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a delight I can't say enough good things about it. Instructions from Ben are clear and easy to follow. It is cosy but with everything you need. Space has been well used and the decor is clean and bright. Beautiful bed linen and lovely fluffy towels. Good pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water. The only note of caution I would mention would be if you had a mobility issue as steps to and in the cottage are steep.

Cornflower Room in Kika's Place is close to art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining, the beach, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the ambiance, the neighbourhood, the light, and the comfy bed. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and big groups. This room, on the 3rd floor, shares a bathroom with one other room. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided and there's a great choice of cafes locally!
The Cornflower room is on the third floor and is a large, light and airy room. There is a comfortable sofa and for those staying 2 nights or more there is a microwave and small fridge so is a little like an apartment rather than just a bedroom.
Whitby is a lovely seaside town. The east side, where my property is situation, has an atmospheric cobbled street that leads to the pier and to 199 steps up to the ancient Parish Church of St. Mary's (12th Century) and the ruins of Whitby Abbey, famous for St. Hilda in the 7th Century. These are only 5 minutes from the property. There are many historic experiences to be had nearby - The Captain Cook Memorial Museum is 2 minutes away. There are many little shops selling 'Whitby Jet' - a semi-precious stone found only in this area and very popular in jewellery.
  • Veronica's place is ideal. Central to the old town, everything you could wish to see is within walking distance. Veronica herself is friendly and helpful, offering a handy booklet of the best places to eat, drink and visit and the room was clean and quiet! 10/10 would visit again.

    Sam2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Cornflower room was a great place to stay. It is located in the Old Town part of Whitby near the Abbey and is very easy to find. Upon our arrival Veronica was there to greet us and show us to our room. The room it's self was located on the top floor of the building which meant we were away from other guests that were already there so there was no noise from across the hall and there were never people walking past our door to get to their room. There was also very little noise to be heard from the street which was good because it is one of the busiest streets in Whitby with all of the tourists visiting the shops or making their way up to the Abbey. In the room there was a double bed, single bed and a sofa all of which were comfy. The bathroom was a shared one with the only other room on the top floor. This wasn't an issue at all for us as on our first night we had it all to ourselves then the second night there were guests across from us but there was never a queue to use it and we never saw the other guests either. The shower was very good and the water was always hot when needed. There was a large mirror just above the sink which is good for when you're doing hair and makeup etc. In all we had a brilliant stay in The Cornflower Room. Veronica was a great host she made us feel very welcome and told us if we needed anything contact her and she would sort it out. Veronica also recommended places to go and eat which was very helpful for us even though we know Whitby very well. Without the recommendations we could have been looking and deciding for a while and it is very helpful for those of you who don't really know Whitby. Thank You for having us Veronica. We will be sure to be back.

  • Veronica's friend Kate made us feel welcome as Veronica was away, and we were able to communicate to arrange key pick up etc. We were in Whitby for the Musicport festival and the location was ideal for us. In the end we stayed in a different room from the Cornflower room but it was fine and had an ensuite which was handy. The room was clean and cosy and we had a good nights sleep. Thanks Veronica !

  • Maureen's place is in a great location right in the centre of Whitby but has the added bonus of being quite at night and in the early morning. The room is within walking distance of parking facilities (£7.50 for 24 hours), also the train station is close by. All local amenities are on the door step. Maureen was a lovely lady and had lots of information for guests. Check in and out was easy and very flexable. My husband and I will hopefully be stayimg again soon. X

The house is situated in a quiet residential area with the town only a short walk away. There is a butchers, convenience store, pub, fish and chip shop and swing park close by. I like to take the walk along the river Esk (less than 300m away) into town, looking at the boats and enjoying the view.
  • Our family recently stayed in Graham's house for 3 nights ... what a lovely place! Easy check-in, very comfortable stay with absolute everything you need, short stroll into town. I would recommend this lovely house to anyone thinking of visiting Whitby and the area. Thanks Graham, we really enjoyed our stay.

  • Do not hesitate to use this place for your Whitby stay . Very clean and well equipped cottage. We stayed here for a weekend recently a group of six adults but plenty room and a lovely place to back to after a busy day and night. A little way out of Whitby but a nice walk not too far and we are a mature group.Lovely host keeps in touch and keeps you well informed. Thankyou

  • A nice place. We enjoyed staying there. Very clean and practical, nicely decorated, and the location was great.

  • Fine stay at Graham's place. It was quiet, but still easily walkable to town center. Comfortable and clean. We would certainly stay again.

    Tylan2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • I'd definitely recommend this house for a break in Whitby, with all the conveniences of home. We stayed for 2 nights with our toddler and it suited our needs perfectly (space for her to play, proper cooking facilities, proper bath, separate bedrooms). Good location in a quiet residential street (near a swing park) and a short (though steep) walk down to the town centre. The house was spotlessly clean and looked newly (& v. tastefully) decorated and furnished (looked like the pans hadn't been used yet!) and linens and towels were sparkling white. It's spacious too - there were only two and a half of us staying but I'd imagine it'd fit 4 with ease and 6 snugly. Parking is in competition with the other residents of the street but we found a space on both days (I think the host did mention an alternative but I've forgotten what it was). We enjoyed Netflix (no normal TV channels) and wireless internet. All in all, a good choice for our stay in Whitby.

    Katie2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect stay! One of the best trips we have had in a long time. Graham was a pleasure to deal with and everything was as described. There we’re 6 of us (including a child), but we had plenty of space. I was a little concerned before arriving that the kitchen wouldn’t be big enough, but we cooked some big meals and all was fine. Located on a pleasant and quiet street, but just a short 5-10 minute walk from the town which was lovely. Would 100% recommend and stay again.

    Rebecca2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautifully furnished, very comfortable and spacious (except for the galley kitchen). The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen did have everything we needed and the separate sunny dining room was used a lot. We enjoyed having a butchers, shop, pub and chippy on our doorstep! We managed to park quite easily and would warmly recommend Graham's cottage.

  • We arrived early and were welcomed by Veronica and her husband, we popped our bags inside whilst she prepared the room and we went off to explore! We were invited to visit the lighthouse where they both work in the afternoon and had a complimentary visit inside which was good fun and very kind. The room was ready for us when we got back later on, it was comfortable and warm with plenty of space. We were made to feel really welcome and enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

  • Great welcome and introduction from Phil, showing us around explaining things and offering advice on the area. He also answered any questions we had. We had a lovely, relaxing stay with everything as stated in the listing. The nice touches like breakfast provided and of street parking were ideal for us and one of the reasons we chose this listing in the first place. The area itself is idyllic and ripe for exploring. The location just above the old town with great views again was perfect for us.

    Stephen2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication from our host and the accommodation was exactly as described. It was just what we wanted for a weekend break. There is wi-fi but the signal wasn't strong enough for all the portable devices. Smart phone was fine but tablet could not even detect. Not a big issue for us. On the plus side we were given our first mince pies of the year!

  • The "Room with a View" was just that. It was restful to look over the rolling valley toward the bay and sea right from our window. The suite was carefully and artistically decorated, so we felt right at home. Thought was put into every touch. Just wish we'd been able to stay longer spas to enjoy the lovely town.

    Elise2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • There's not much you can add to the string of great reviews this property has. Phil and Jackie have clearly gone out of their way to make their guest's time here as perfect as possible. Beautiful views and garden, lovely house with all the facilities you'd need, a well stocked kitchen cupboard (or cupboard kitchen!) and a friendly welcome.

    Paul2016-09-12T00:00:00Z

  • Phil's place is lovely, easy to find even in the darkness of the night. Very easy to access and you'll feel home right away. You'll have a large choice for breakfast and won't leave hungry. Very quiet street, lovely view of the abbey from the top bedroom, lots of room for additional guests if required. The house was immaculate! Bathroom upstairs and on ground floor were very handy, and the living room made a very cosy retreat at the end of a day's adventuring. Welcome hamper on arrival was a lovely touch. Located in the town centre and very close to the harbour and abbey, Bumble Bee Studio is warm, comfortable and cosy. There is a kitchenette (with kettle, toaster, grill, microwave, sink and small fridge) and an en suite shower room. I can almost always offer a parking place directly outside the property or close by (the town's big events may be the exception). The studio is a perfect base for singles or couples who wish to explore this beautiful coastline. Limited head height (6' 4'').
Whitby is a unique and immensely popular seaside town, famed for its sea-faring heritage, Whitby jet, Dracula, the Goth movement and, of course, its spectacular coastline. Just 5 miles south is the famed village of Robin Hood's Bay and the austere beauty of the North York Moors is just 3 miles to the west. The town itself is home to some excellent restaurants and cafes. Seafood is, of course, a speciality.
  • Julie's place was perfectly located walking distance, a few short blocks by the train station. This helps if it's raining. I enjoyed my stay in Whitby very much and the flat was cosy and the kitchen was handy and practical. We loved Whitby so much, it's one of the best places to visit in London. Next time we will stay longer than 2 nights. Julie's place is popular so book early. We only stayed two nights because that's all that was available, so please book early if you want to stay longer!

The bedroom has French shutters to the feature window, and opens out onto the front of the property with stunning sea views to enjoy when having your morning tea. There is a French style bed, coordinating wardrobe and bedside tables, and a television. In the lounge, there is a window seat from where you can gaze out to sea or across Ravenscar. Secure parking available for two vehicles. WIFI is available at the property for your use.
The famous Cinder Trail runs beside the cottage. This lovely coastal route travels between the seaside resorts of Scarborough and Whitby. Also known as the Cinder Track, it takes in fantastic views, secluded coves and historic sites, and has it all for the perfect day out. Robin Hood’s Bay is one of the most popular coastal locations in Yorkshire. Home to sandy & family friendly beaches, fossils and the Dinosaur Coast, coastal and countryside walks and cycleways, great places to eat, drink and stay as well as fantastic shops, visitor attractions and a variety of themed weekends, festivals and events.
  • A lovely, clean and well appointed cottage which was ideally located for the foodie/ walking break we wanted!

    Andrea2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place is lovely! The location ensures that you see a 2-hour long stunning sunrise every morning out of your bedroom window (at least in December). The place is clean and has everything you might need. We enjoyed our cozy fireplace two nights in a row thanks to everything provided! Lizzie is the most responsive host, and I would recommend and (hopefully) return to this place again. Thank you!

  • Fantastic place with great views, very relaxing and great for a weekend away! lovely pub less then 5 minutes from where you stay, would 100% stay here again.

    Liam2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage with lovely views, close by the cinder track and cliff paths for cycling and walking. We had a lovely weekend, walked to Ravenscar along the beach while the tide was out, saw loads of seals and cubs! Then walked back along the cliff walk, just lovely (apart from the wind and rain!). It's also easy to cycle in to Whitby along the cinder track the other way, takes about an hour or less if you're fitter! The cottage itself was perfect, really cosy after our rainy walk, had everything we needed, wifi arrived Saturday too which was an added bonus but was fine without it. The local pub 5 mins walk away serves great food, as does the hotel at the top of Robin Hood's Bay (I think it's called the Victoria Hotel?). Lizzie and Gayle were lovely and very responsive to any queries. The one very tiny annoyance was people who were staying in the other cottages were walking quite loudly past our bedroom window with cases on Saturday morning, but that was only because we were having a long lie in, and like I said it was only a tiny thing. It didn't put us off and we definitely want to go back!

    Jeanette2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful converted barn in an even more beautiful setting. Perfect for going on walks - long or short. Easy to get to the centre of robin hood's bay. The cottage was wonderful - everything we needed. No wifi at the moment, but I believe that's being installed in July. To be honest, the escapism that comes with no wifi is a blessing! Highly recommended. Thank you

  • Perfect little cottage, wish we could have stayed longer!

    Chloe2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Feathers Nest was as charming in real life as the photos and descriptions on this website. We stayed for three nights after our daughters wedding so we're looking for peace, solitude and comfort. We got all of these things and in particular the interior decoration was kept to a very high standard. The property is perfectly located to explore robin hoods bay and the surrounding area with a big sainsburys in nearly Whitby for provisions. We read a number of visitor reviews which concentrated on the exterior layout and whilst it did not affect us as we were staying out of season we did think the website should more accurately describe the position of the communal play area which was directly opposite the cottage with no fencing or planting to screen it. As the cottage is a one bedroom property it is most likely the play area will be used by children from the other adjacent properties. Whilst it is a nice addition to the site maybe a trampoline is not the best equipment to be sited across from the outdoor seating area of this cottage. We thought there should be some planters or the like to stop the other property users from walking along the path right across the front of feathers nest as the guests all naturally looked in as they passed. Finally a few guests have requested a blind on the kitchen door for privacy as it is opposite the play area and on full view to any guests walking to the parking area. Having said all this we think with very little alteration externally this cottage could be a perfect hideaway destination.

    andy2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely couple of nights at Feathers Nest. The barn is beautifully furnished and so comfortable and cosy. We had everything we needed, and were grateful for little touches like the milk and biscuits when we arrived. The location was also great - just a short walk down to the bay with little shops, cafes and restaurants and a great starting point for coastal walks or bike rides. Will be recommending to friends and family as the perfect getaway on the Yorkshire Coast.

Our house is tastefully furnished and is ideal for guests looking for a destination near the coast. The room offers all of the essentials for a long or short getaway and welcomes well behaved pets to enjoy your holiday with you. There is ample street parking directly outside the house.
  • Julie and her family made me feel very welcome in their home. They are fantastic hosts and we had a real good laugh and a chat on the night that I stayed. They were very helpful with everything and even helped calm my nerves for my business meeting the next day. The room was perfect, bed very comfy and everything was lovely and clean. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you so much. xx

  • A good location, only 10 minutes from the centre of town (via some steep steps) and not far from the Abbey. We got a warm welcome (and a cold beer) on arrival. The room was not big but it was beautifully clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom is shared, but like the room, spotless with nice fluffy towels.

  • In a great location on Henrietta Street, this is a lovely house. It's spacious for the terraced houses on this street and comfortably furnished. We had no need to contact our hosts, as we had no questions or problems with the accommodation.

    David2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Liz's house is on one of the most beautiful cobbled streets in Whitby, directly under the Abbey, next to two great pubs and a ten second walk to the amazing cliffs. The house is full of character, clean and so, so cosy. The photos don't do it justice! We had a wonderful time, the weather was wild but we stayed safe and warm in the house and watched the raging sea in front of a roaring fire! We are already planning a second visit! Charlotte Baker (Terry's daughter)

    Theresa 2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • No surprises - Great location in the heart of Whitby. The Labradors loved the beach and sea. Liz was incredibly helpful and a very rapid responder.

  • A beautiful place to stay for a few days. Clean, comfortable and full of character. Ideally located for easy access to the town, beach or abbey during the day, but far enough removed to be peaceful at night. We loved the sound of bells from St Mary's Church and the smell of woodsmoke from Fortune's Kippers smokehouse next door.

  • This place was great. Spacious and in a remarkable location. Very clean and well kept. amazing view of the church from the bedroom at the top!

    Christopher2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 3 nights and the only issue was that we weren't able to stay longer. We found the location to be ideal for our family break as we were close enough to everything but Henrietta Street is just far enough from the crowds to give you some peace and quiet. We found the layout worked well as we sat around in the kitchen during the early evening whilst our children got off to sleep and then moved up to the first floor lounge later. We were so tired after our busy days exploring that we all had early nights so I can't comment on the TV as we never turned it on. Liz was an excellent host and arranged everything we needed including cot and high chair. We'd love to go back and have no hesitation in recommending it to you.

SECOND FLOOR: Bedroom 2: Twin beds and fitted wardrobes. Bedroom 3: Double bed and fitted wardrobes. GARDEN: Outhouse with washer dryer. Pets: Sorry, no pets. No smoking inside the cottage. Heating: Gas central heating. Notes: Travel cot, stairgates and highchair available. Parking. There is a detailed page in our welcome pack with advice on parking including links with maps. Henrietta street is in the cobbled streets of old whitby, really central for the shops, pubs and cafe's - but there is no public parking. Our road is very quiet, and on arrival you should have no problem parking up to unload. We usually unload bags (and the kids!) - and I drive to park and walk 5 - 10 mins back to the cottage. There's always something happening throughout the town , and festivals and fairs are held throughout the year including Whitby Goth Festival, Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta.
  • Fabulous holiday, in a fabulous cottage. Information pack was useful - We didn't need to contact Dave and Katie during because we had all the information we needed. Perfect location and lovely décor, we couldn't fault our holiday and have already recommended the Fisherman's cottage to friends.

  • Dave and Katie's house is a beautiful place steps away from the beach, the abbey, and shopping. Set in the old neighbourhood it is never very busy in front of the building itself. Both clean and cozy, it is a perfect base for all your adventures in and around Whitby. The Terrace garden behind the house is an added delight! The kitchen was also very well equipped, making eating in enjoyable. Lastly, it had a magnificent bathroom with a tub and shower. Superb vacation spot!

  • All five of us had an amazing week in Whitby staying at your cottage. We loved the speakers and location of the house. The bedding was so lovely and soft too and the rooms were light and airy despite being in an old cottage. It's my favourite property I've stayed in during my annual Whitby visits (7). I'd love to stay again. 10/10.

    Sarah2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location for walking around Whitby, right at the foot of the steps to the Abbey and within a couple of minutes of everything else. The cottage itself is spacious, comfortable and well looked after, with everything you need, some nice extras and lovely views. Information is sent in plenty of time and is very helpful. Definitely recommend. Despite being half term and busy for the film festival, we thought we were lucky with car parking. We parked at the pay and display at The Fleece which was £7.70 for 24 hours paying by Ringo (so you don't have to actually be in the car park to extend the parking), which sounds a lot, but you can use any other Long-Stay car park within Scarborough Borough (i.e. from Staithes down to Reighton) on the same ticket. We also now know you can by a week's ticket in advance, which is likely cheaper. This was the best option for us for accessibility reasons on this occasion, but there are other options a little further away and some free spaces around town if you're lucky. Thanks to Dave & Katie for a lovely week in their cottage.

  • Fantastic place in a great location. We stayed here for 3 nights. The area is really quiet but also really close to all the shops and restaurants. The cottage is cosy and welcoming with a lovely bathroom and incredibly comfy bed. My three year old loved all the toys and books and the view of the sea from the front windows. Highly recommended and would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the terrace.

  • First time user of AirBnB and have to say if this sets the bar then other places will have a lot to live up to. Excellent accommodation and in a great location. Easily room for family including young children to enjoy a true home from home break with many options locally if you want others to take the strain for you. Can also highly recommend the fish and chip shop just down the street. Be prepared for a short walk to the car park where a voucher is provided however there is a car park much close if you don't mind paying yourself. All in all a great place that we all highly recommend.

  • Fantastic house, full of character and beautifully decorated. The location is very central, less than ten minutes walk to most places. House layout is good, it has a basement kitchen which is well equipped. The first floor bathroom has a slightly eccentric shower which is line with the character of such an old home! The street is as narrow as some in old Italian towns, the hosts provided parking permits for a nearby car park (~5 mins walk). The listing doesn't do justice to the superb view of the abbey from the loft bedroom. On a nice morning, it is simply stunning. Whitby itself is a throwback to childhood seaside memories intertwined with modern fashionable shops and people (to which I'm not well accustomed, but my wife was impressed). The Magpie Cafe is an absolute must for fish & chips and the NYMR to Pickering was lovely. The beaches are small and nice, without the invasion of bars and cafes right on them unlike some other British seaside places which was nice. Our 2 year old reckons that he had the "best ice cream ever ever" thrice.
