Places to stay in Ward
Enjoy a private wooded get-away for two with wood burning stove, indoor dining/cooking area with a Coleman 2-burner propane stove, sleeping loft, outdoor fire pit w/seating area and an outdoor propane gas grill. NO electricity or running water. A move up from tent camping - bring your food & ice. No need to bring water unless you want to. We have a deep well. Sleeping cot available for an extra guest. There is also extra room in the sleeping loft next to the full size mattress for a child.
Just like camping - only better! No tent to set up. Get away from it all in this quaint little one-room cabin (8' x 10') nestled in the woods on 8.5 acres just outside the Indian Peaks Wilderness and Brainard Lake Recreation Area in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Only a short scenic drive from Boulder, this tiny house sits at approximately 9,500 feet elevation and is a perfect base camp for a weekend of snowshoeing and skiing (winter months) or hiking/biking (summer months). It is located off of Brainard Lake Road. For winter access you will need 4-wheel drive. During the winter, parking is near the entrance to our property (closer to the main cabin) and guests need to snow shoe or ski in the remaining 100 yards. Of course, winter hiking (also known as "post-holing") is also an option. You will need to backpack or sled your gear/supplies into this little cabin. We have two sleds rigged up for you to use. Play all day in Indian Peaks Wilderness, Brainard Lake Recreation Area, Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park or any of the dozens of nearby attractions and then retire to this peaceful little haven where you will enjoy the wood burning stove's warmth and a pot of tea or glass of wine as you relax, journal, read, write, paint or just daydream. In the warmer months enjoy the intimate outdoor “living area” including cushioned Adirondack chairs encircling an outdoor fire pit. Cook out on the grill and enjoy dining outdoors at the huge rustic table with stumps and stools for seating. This knotty-pine interior cabin is heated by a wood-burning stove only -- but it gets REALLY warm! Please be sure to crack a window for proper ventilation. We provide fire wood but ALWAYS appreciate when guests bring a small firewood bundle to help supplement our supply. It has a small cooking area with Coleman 2-burner propane stove and a well-equipped galley. There are pots, pans, a tea kettle, cooking utensils, cups, bowls, plates, silverware, knives, wineglasses, bottle & can & wine openers. There are paper towels, dish cloths, and cleaning supplies. We have complimentary tea and hot chocolate. A small convertible dining table can be raised to provide more floor space for cots (we have two cots available with bedding, or bring your own) or an air mattress to accommodate children and/or pets. This sleeping arrangement is in addition to the sleeping loft. Climb the ladder to the sleeping loft furnished with a full mattress (sleeps two) covered with blankets, comforters and lots of pillows. Help yourself to fresh, clean water from our deep well at the spigot at our main cabin. We provide a 5-gallon blue, plastic camp style water container. A convenient and clean outhouse is available a short distance from the little cabin.
The Brainard Lake Recreation Area - offers an extensive network of hiking, mountain biking and in the winter, cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails right out your door. Indian Peaks Wilderness – high alpine peaks are easily accessed and only a short distance away. Peak to Peak Highway – enjoy a scenic mountain drive or a spectacular road bike ride (particularly in the fall with the golden aspens at their peak). Ward – Enjoy a surprisingly wonderful meal and the intimate atmosphere at Marrocco's Restaurant (yummy pizza!!) and check out the local art gallery, The Glass Tipi, both located right in the center of this tiny, eccentric, old mining town. Allenspark – (13 miles) enjoy local mountain flavor with horseback riding, small cafe, pizzeria, community center, and antique store. Allenspark has its own riding stable and the Fawnbrook Inn, a 4-star restaurant for fine dining. Wild Basin (17 miles) and Rocky Mountain National Park (33.5 miles) - At the doorstep of the Rocky Mountain National Park, you can enjoy a variety of activities all year round -- from leisurely hikes to vigorous mountain climbing, horseback riding, fly-fishing, snowshoeing, downhill skiing, ice skating, cross-country skiing, sledding, sleigh rides and more. Eldora Ski Resort (18 miles) – just down the road from the town of Nederland -- enjoy downhill skiing, snowboarding, Nordic, alpine and cross-country skiing, as well as snowshoeing. Boulder Canyon - rock climbing, swimming, kayaking and fly fishing. Black Hawk and Central City (31 miles) – visit these historical mining towns and check out the casinos. Boulder (32 miles) - The progressive town of Boulder itself is 17 miles down the canyon road, and offers a large variety of shopping, restaurants and the famous Pearl Street Mall. Estes Park (36 miles) - this tourist town serves as the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park with loads of shopping, dining, and other attractions. Nederland (13 miles) - a unique mountain town with a variety of restaurants, coffee houses, shops and live music venues, as well as a great visitor center and mining museum right in the heart of town.

Please also see sister studio, https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/23565941. This half cabin is a great retreat just six miles from downtown Boulder. It is tucked along the walls of Boulder Canyon making it an ideal location for fly fishermen, rock climbers, hikers, and nature enthusiasts. The setting is wooded, and Boulder Creek is easily accessible from the cabin. We welcome guests from all backgrounds and orientations. And we love to share our beautiful state with international visitors!
We offer an inviting studio in a duplex cabin with complete kitchen, queen bed, bathroom with tub/shower, and fireplace. The cabin is divided into two private studio apartments, each with its own entrance. There are three cabins on our property. We live in the first cabin, so we can answer guests' questions and quickly attend to guests' needs.
The cabin is in Boulder Canyon, which is a magnificent natural attraction connecting the plains with the peaks of the Rockies. At the entrance to the canyon is a park featuring enormous red rocks tilted vertically with spectacular views of the Boulder Valley. The Boulder Creek Path, popular with cyclists and hikers, follows the creek for several miles in the canyon. A couple miles above our cabin is scenic Boulder Falls and the dramatic cliffs of The Narrows. Popular destinations for rock climbers are throughout the canyon.
  • Cynthia and Jeff’s space is the perfect mountain cabin getaway! it is nestled in the canyon and is only a short drive from beautiful Boulder! We took a trip to the Brainard Recreation Area near Nederland to go snowshoeing and it was only 30 minutes away! The cabin has everything you need and more including a lovely fireplace and local Boulder goodies! We loved our stay here and we would love to stay again!

  • What a great getaway from the city! Short drive outside Boulder easy to get to. Great instructions on how to get there. Very quick responses from the owners even last minute so kind and hospitable. Checkin and checkout was a breeze. The wood fireplace was a nice touch that made the cabin cozy. Bed was super comfortable I got great sleep. Everything was super clean and it went very well will be back again soon!

  • This was a fantastic stay in an absolutely beautiful cabin. We loved the location –– secluded, but still conveniently close to downtown Boulder! The cabin was filled with thoughtful touches that really made us feel welcome. Plus, Lupa the dog was the best possible way to be greeted upon arrival ;) The fireplace creates a super cozy atmosphere. Plus there's heating in the cabin and blankets if needed. We already want to come back! We were so impressed with the friendliness and thoughtfulness of our wonderful hosts and would recommend this spot to anyone headed to the Boulder area!

    Megan2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Had wonderful time at their beautiful cabin. Cynthia took the time to make us a welcome card and had a goody basket ready for us. Very beautiful location, we even got lucky and had fresh snow waiting for us on our first night.

    Gilberto2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is really cute and super cozy! The bed is firm but very comfortable. Little touches are great, fully stocked kitchen with really nice kitchenware and cooking utensils. Cynthia is a first class host with lots of great tips on places to go and things to see. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.

  • Cozy cabin, great people and awesome location just outside Boulder

    Devin2020-02-28T00:00:00Z

  • A beautiful cabin only a short drive from downtown Boulder. The hosts are friendly and the cabin was spotless. They included lots of memorable touches, like a basket of local Colorado treats. The fireplace is a great addition.

  • Beautiful views, super relaxing bathtub, overall great place to get away

    Emmett2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I love this place! It was perfect for us and our two dogs. The view is spectacular. The bathroom amenities were great. There isn't a kitchen, but the food in boulder is delicious. Very clean, a little noisy if the hosts have friends over (you are on the first floor which is private from the rest of the house), but quieted down at a reasonable hour and we slept wonderfully both nights we were there. Highly recommended if you have pets traveling with you and/or you want gorgeous mountain views in Boulder, CO. We will definitely book again!

    Olivia2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this place for the spacious jet tub, the steam shower, and the views, and I wasn't disappointed! The bath and shower were both to die for, and the views were out of this world. It's a bit out of the way, which was fine for me because I had no actual plans in Boulder proper. If you're coming in the winter, you'll definitely need 4WD, though, as it's very much off the beaten path. The host, Andy, was responsive; he also has a cute dog who lives upstairs and will probably greet you outside at some point. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a mountain escape.

    Natalie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is AMAZING!!!!! The pictures don’t do it justice!!!! The view is amazing! The location is perfect because it is up in the mountain but not a far drive from the city. Super recommend this place! Plus he has super cute dogs!

    Jesus2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Andy’s place was fantastic...felt very at home the whole time. Was very accommodating and quick to respond if there were issues, which there were not any. Highly suggest this place if you’re down for adventure and relaxation.

    Robert2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of firsts in this trip for meeee! First time in Colorado first times seeing snow and first time solo trip! The view from this place is absolutely breathtaking! Laying in bed staring at the hills -awesome Taking a bath staring at the hills -amazing Watching fresh snow fall from the patio -amazing I can’t say enough good things. Andy provided lots of materials with this to do and where to go. I’ll always recommend this place!

    Frankie2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Unbelievable views! A perfect dog friendly stay just a ramble away from downtown Boulder. AWD or 4WD is mandatory in winter weather.

  • Cozy little studio in the mountains. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the hot tub right out side the bedroom was great.

    Seth2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Angie and Jesse were amazing! We only stayed one night with them but would love to stay more in the future. It is the perfect little mountain getaway but not too far from a major city. The little town was amazing! We took a hike along the reservoir, which had amazing views, especially during sunset. We enjoyed the hot tub under the stars after our hike. The sunset in the morning with the view from the patio was unreal! We really enjoyed ourselves and could not recommend this place enough.

    Nicole2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Had to cancel our trip at the last minute but Angie and Jesse were very understanding and communication was very quick and easy.

    Alex2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, and close to Eldora Resort! The studio is super cosy and adorable, as described and very clean. Hosts Angie & Jesse were very helpful and provided lots of great recommendations to the neighborhood and even thoughtfully set out welcome breakfast, snacks, and seltzers. Don't forget to bring a bathing suit too, because getting to hot tub under the stars after a day in the snow was by far the cherry on top to staying here.

    Serena2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect retreat for a mountain getaway and is so convenient to all the local restaurants and recreation. Angie and Jesse have created a peaceful setting with numerous thoughtful touches. The bed is comfortable and the star gazing from the hot tub was magical. One word of advice is that the walkway is quite steep and during winter we found it to be icy. We were happy to have ice trekkers attached to our boots.

    Jennifer2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I travel a lot for work and had a weekend to spend in the US between two meetings. Searched for a place with a hot-tub... and wauw... ended up with much more!! Herewith a few of the many things which stood out: Awesome hosts, who kindly lend me hiking shoes (I travel light... only had normal shoes with me), they also lend me a pair of snow-shoes (first time in my life I walked on them... walks great!), Angie's breakfast muffins (secret recipe) taste great! Super good advice on where to hike (I ended up hiking to 'lost lake'), great bed!! Beautiful view from the porch, wonderful bathroom with great tiling & comfortable tub... long story short... one of those rare occasions that I hope to return with fam. and enjoy this place together. Many thanks Angie & Jesse!!

    Gert2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for having us at your amazing place!!! We expected it to be beautiful as we saw in the pictures but we were still blown away when we got there. Coming from Vegas it was very refreshing to be that close to nature but still with lots of comfort. The bed was impossible to get out of in the morning, especially when we turned our heads and looked out to the view from the patio. We enjoyed every second in this charming place and are waiting to be back again.

    Shai2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous stay in Nederland. The space is beautiful, with a hot tub just one step outside the bedroom! We were hoping for a weekend of R&R and this place exceeded expectations, with all of Ned in easy walking distance and gorgeous trails to snowshoe nearby.

  • This cabin is perfect if you are looking for a cozy place to return to after a day out in the woods. We stayed during the winter and found it to be a great place to warm up and sleep. The cabin description is spot on. The area is beautiful and Gregory was welcoming.

    Ruth2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had an amazing experience here in Nederland. The cabin was warm and cozy from the very start despite 3ft of snow on the ground. We spent one afternoon hiking around the beautiful area with snowshoes, another day at the ski resort and several nights lounging by the fire and listening to some of the nice cd’s available at the cabin, and watching Titanic on VHS! (We were so good and even rewound them after!) Gregory and Joseph not only were excellent and responsive hosts, they went above and beyond when I managed to get my 2wd car stuck when I was trying to drive it like a 4x4, they were there to pull us out of a snow bank both times. (The cabin was very accessible even with 2wd though, I just pushed the limits of my non-snow tires!) I would recommend this cabin highly, I had a beautiful and memorable weekend here.

    Brian2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Tree house is a perfect weekend getaway. Cozy, clean and in a great location, everything you need for a mountain getaway. Gregory is a wonderful host, there to make sure you have everything you need. Would recommended the tree house to all my friends!!

The cottage is a studio space with kitchen, bed, living room, dining table, private outdoor porch and bathroom with shower. We also provide simple amenities for cooking. The cottage is directly behind our family home and shares a deck with the main house. It is close to national parks and forest, running, hiking, biking trails, Eldora ski area and 10 minutes northeast of the town of Nederland. You’ll love the cottage because of access to nature, the decor and the location.
The cottage is nicely designed and stylishly furnished, it is a cozy space comfortable for two people.
For some, our spot might seem remote, however, the cottage is situated directly behind our house and is located in an active neighborhood, only 10 minutes drive to Nederland and 25 minutes to Boulder.
  • This place is the perfect getaway location. Spotlessly clean, beautiful, and cozy. Emilie is a wonderful host!

    Rachel2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Emilie's place breathtaking views place is clean cozy and very homey my family and i had a amazing stay.

    Liliana2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This stay was absolutely amazing. I was looking for a quiet mountain cottage and I got exactly that. This space was well decorated and so cozy. The space has a quick heating system that gets just warm enough to relieve the cold. The shower is small, but the water heats up fast! The kitchen is well stocked. The entire cabin has plenty of storage for all of the over-packers (that’s me!). If you’re going in the winter, you absolutely need a 4x4 or AWD vehicle. The driveway is icy and steep. This little mountain town felt like a second home by the end of the trip. There were no other tourists, no traffic. Theres a huge lake surrounded in mountains; everything was frozen and covered in snow during our stay. As Texas locals, it was a winter wonderland! It was a DREAM to stay here. The hosts’ were so kind and helpful! We’ll definitely be back.

Best view from a house, ever. 1800 square ft of clean, comfy romance. LARGE deck for summer, wood stove for winter. Safe Space. 1 mile from Ned, 20 miles from Boulder. Hot tub on deck over looking continental divide, Trampoline, Movie Room, full kitchen. You can call it a cabin, but it is more of a house, 8500 ft high, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains :)
UPSTAIRS has open-floor plan that looks out on a panoramic view of the Continental Divide - this is what I refer to as the 'best view from a house, ever'. Kitchen, wood floor, telescope, and hammock in this upstairs 'great' room. Very large deck is connected to this space. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything, including condiments, spices, etc you are invited to use. Stereo works from your computer or phone, with speakers inside and out on the deck. Master bedroom is also on this floor with king size bed and great divide view. The big deck has a hot tub, grill (not necessarily winter-friendly) and trampoline. The trampoline is at deck level with the deck and divide in front of you. From the deck, along with the continental divide, you can also see Barker Reservoir, and downtown Nederland (1 mile away with many restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops). DOWNSTAIRS has two private bedrooms, and another 'bedroom' in an open space. Wood Stove, Large TV with DISH cable, Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu Plus, and DVD/Blue-ray player. Also, work out & yoga equipment. It's clean, warm, carpeted. Washer and Dryer too.
I will leave you a couple of magazines that cover it ALL, in detail - Hiking, biking, special attractions, etc. Nederland was my favorite place on earth when I moved here 11 years ago, and still is. There are world class mountain hikes and other outdoor adventures minutes from the the front door. Road and trail biking, skiing. fishing, depending on the season. Our little town (1500 in town; 7500 in surrounding mountains) is an overachieving place. The Carousel of Happiness is an art project, and yes, a carousel you can ride. The 'Rock Shop' (Nature's Own) is worth checking out. Three world class coffeehouses, Happy Trails (local flavor), New Moon (wonderful bakery) and Salto (lots of room, beer & wine). The Co-op on first street (just ask anyone where it is) is a great place for healthy grocery shopping. (We also have a 'normal' grocery store, the B&F.) Tadasana Yoga rivals any yoga studio I've ever been to. Check their schedule out online. Classes 9am, noon, every day. The Wild Bear Nature Center is nearby and worth checking out. A few good bars (with their own restaurants), a used book store (with ice cream!) a hardware store, a bank, and more. Some good restaurants, including: Cross Cut Pizza (really great) Kathmandu (Indian), James Peak Smokehouse (they smoke their own meat, brew their own beer) Salto, The Thai Restaurant. Salto is a coffeehouse but also has good food options.
  • Great place!

  • This is a great place to stay in Ned! Just 2 minutes to town by car, easy access to skiing, hiking, etc.. if you even choose to leave. You could just sit in the hot tub on the deck watching the mountains (or Milky Way at night). Place was clean, stocked with everything you need, enough firewood to heat all of Denver. The decor was great, interesting books and great hosts. Fastest hosts I’ve ever encountered for communications. I would stay here again, and you probably would too!

  • Incredible view and spectacular location in a quirky and special town with surprisingly amazing restaurants and shops. My friends and I loved staying here for the views from the big windows, huddling around the fire playing Risk at night, and enjoying some bubbly in the hot tub. This place is perfection for those who want to get away and enjoy themselves while doing it. Kari was super fast at responding and the place was super clean and stocked with coffee. Can not recommend more! Stay here and enjoy a chill time.

  • House in the mountains offered a unique experience for our family with a view of the Continental Divide mountain range from windows and porch that could not be matched. This house during winter maybe for the intrepid just because of the driveway. If you get heavy snowfall or icy conditions, it could be a bit treacherous. We took the warnings to have an appropriate vehicle and we did get 4-5 inches of snow. We had no problems cycling two vehicles in the driveway so that we were pointed downhill for easy, safer departures. The house had close proximity to Eldora Ski area and downtown Nederland for take out Indian food one night, carousel ride for our 1 year old granddaughter and a trip to Very Nice brewery. We shopped in Boulder for food and drink provisions beforehand and brought a high chair set up and safety gate to block off upstairs for safety for the little one which worked out well. View, hot tub, entertainment center, and proximity to Eldora were great.

  • This place is SUPER cute and wonderful. Set just 1/2 mile out of town up on the mountain, it is a cute but spacious cabin overlooking the reservoir and surrounded by beautiful woods. Easy in and out to town, and a short jaunt to Boulder. My son LOVED the trampoline built into the deck, as well as the various hammocks inside and out. I highly recommend this place for families and anyone who wants to be 'in the woods' with an amazing view, but close to town and civilization. Five stars!

    Kristen2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time to Colorado. Nederland is a little town with old charm and amazing scenery. The house is quirky and cute, the views are stunning. The house is fully equipped with all the things you need. The decks are awesome but we were snowed in and didn't get to enjoy it as much as we would like, but the window views more than made up for it. I would suggest stopping at a larger chain grocery store on your way in because the local store has astronomical prices. Wood burning fireplace was absolutely on point and kept the downstairs warm! Kari was amazing. She is very prompt in her replies, we are talking within minutes. She is very nice and is ready to come by on the fly for any concerns or troubleshooting. We will definitely return. Lost Lake is a must for hiking and it's right around the corner. Blue Moon coffee shop, Snickers Latte is delicious!

    Sarah2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible, lovely place. Hosted by kind, responsive, and attentive people. We had a lovely time, would highly recommend it to anyone (from a weekend escape to a wedding!!) We look forward to coming back someday!

  • The view from the patio is phenomenal! Just a short drive into town for supplies or restaurants. Comfortable and clean place, and communicative and friendly hosts.

Enjoy our cozy alpine mini-chalet - hiker hut/skier shed. Relax in charming décor and great outdoor hang-out spaces. Dogs & children welcome! A wood burning stove keeps you toasty warm. Cook indoors or out. Climb the ladder to the sleeping loft full size bed. Hang out in your own private outdoor rec area with a fire pit, chairs & dining set up. A move-up from camping - bring your food and ice. No electricity/no running H20. Good well water provided. Cots/air mattress available for extra guests.
For winter access, 4-wheel or all wheel drive is recommended -- depending on how recently it has snowed or whether snow is in the forecast. During the winter, parking is near the entrance to the property and guests walk a short distance to the chalet. This cozy converted shed is an off-grid, quaint mini-chalet complete with Swiss fondue pot! It is one-room measuring 10' x 12' with a sleeping loft above. There is NO running water, indoor plumbing or electricity. Battery powered candles and lanterns provide lighting. The mini-chalet is NOT situated in a private setting as there is another bigger cabin very close by that is also an Airbnb rental. However there is a private hang out area with its own fire pit and outdoor dining set up (located a short walk past the outhouse) where you can relax in your own designated space. The knotty-pine interior mini-chalet is heated by a wood-burning stove that guests operate themselves. We provide wood, cardboard/paper, matches, and lighter fluid. It does not have electricity or running water. There are several battery powered lanterns and battery powered candles plus special lighting throughout the mini-chalet. Guests obtain water from a spigot at our main cabin using a 5-gallon camp style water container. The water is from our deep well. There is a well-equipped kitchenette with a Coleman 2-burner propane stove. There are pots, pans, a tea kettle, French press, Swiss fondue pot with forks and sterno fuel canisters, cooking utensils, cups, bowls, plates, silverware, knives, plastic wine glasses, bottle & can & wine openers. We provide paper towels, dish cloths, and cleaning supplies. We offer a selection of teas and hot chocolate as well as spices/seasonings, salt & pepper, popcorn, sugar and cooking oil. Guests climb the ladder to get to the sleeping loft which comes furnished with a full-size mattress, pillows, sheets, blankets and comforter. There is space for a third person to sleep on a sleeping pad as well. If more beds are needed we can provide up to two cots or two twin size air mattresses, plus all of the pillows, blankets and comforters needed. A convenient and clean portable toilet/porta-potty is just a few steps away from the mini-chalet. Nearby is a short path leading to the private outdoor fire pit area and outdoor dining table and chairs (for 4 people). A round galvanized metal stock tank is used to cover the fire pit and put out the fire. Play all day in Indian Peaks Wilderness, Brainard Lake Recreation Area, Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Boulder, or any of the dozens of nearby attractions. Then come home to this peaceful getaway where you can relax, cook a meal, build a fire, make smores, drink a glass of wine (or hot chocolate), journal, read, write, paint or just day dream. This property is a wooded 8.5 acreage just outside Indian Peaks Wilderness and Brainard Lake Recreation Area in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This property is a 35 minute drive from Boulder and 50 minutes from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. The property sits at 9,500 feet elevation and is a perfect base camp for snowshoeing and skiing (winter months) or hiking/biking/exploring (summer months). It is located off of Brainard Lake Road. We provide two pairs of snowshoes -- free of charge -- to your guests during their stay.

  • I’d stay here forever if I could. The hike to the Mountain View is sensational. I want to come back in the summertime but even in the winter it really wasn’t as cold as I expected. It was such a good time. Cooking on the grill, build a fire, hang out and relax.

    Taj2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The mini-chalet is perfect for a getaway, it’s very warm and cozy and the night sky looks like a black sheet full of glitter, our stay was perfect!

    Daniel2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated & rustic. Perfect woodsy getaway. Loved the hot cocoa, coffee, cooking supplies, games and all the thoughtful touches. Would absolutely stay here again.

  • This was exactly what my daughter and I needed. We are both full time college students and we were worn out. Jo and Lindsey gave us exactly what we needed for 4 days. I feel so much better and ready for graduation. I hope to be back in the fall with my hubby. Wonderful experience and it went beyond my expectations.

  • Amazing spot!!

    Talia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint and cozy! The wood burning stove made it easy to keep the temps comfortable in the winter.

  • Marvelous, incredible, amazing, unbelievable and wonderful!!! Tiny house is the best concept for a quaint getaway. Pioneer style with all the bells and whistles provided by the hosts. I suggest bringing extra battery life for cell phones. You can connect to the wifi from the main cabin but no cell service from your drive approaching Ward. They have plenty of lighting powered by batteries. The wood burning stove was so great that it actually gets really warm in the loft where you sleep. Do not bring extra towels or blankets. They have more than enough. I seriously want you to book this cottage. You will love it. Your stay will be a memory that remains with the person you share it with. Instagram worthy and fantastic photos. Extra snowshoes for the win! You can park by the chalet but strongly suggest a 4 x 4 vehicle in the winter. Book NOW!!!

Enjoy great hiking, biking and skiing in the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area. Custom mountain home located on four acres of aspen forest. Close to Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Eldora Ski Resort & Boulder. Great space for those wanting time in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Guaranteed best night sky view ever. We very much respect, welcome and enjoy all religions, all nationalities and diversity in general. Please read all listing information prior to booking.
We invite you to enjoy the inspiring space of our modest, three bedroom mountain house nestled in the Rocky Mountains. The house is a short scenic drive west of Boulder, Colorado. We are also located 40 minutes away from the quaint and colorful mountain town of Estes Park, CO via the scenic Peak to Peak Hwy. The house sits at approximately 9250 ft. It is south facing, adorned with a lot of glass, great natural light and is passive solar. Please note that this listing is for renting one bedroom in our house. The space is the ideal location for a getaway, as well as a wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Whether you are here for alpine or backcountry skiing, snow-showing, wildlife viewing or a cozy weekend by a fire, you are at the right place. We are located by a creek in a lovely aspen forest off a very well maintained road that provides easy winter access. Five minutes away from our house you can access world class hiking/skiing in the Indian Peaks Wilderness which boasts amazing views of the Continental Divide. We remodeled our home but not without first falling in love with the wonderful character and imperfections of this unique structure. Though 50 years old, our house offers the comfort of all the modern amenities, while preserving it's rustic charm in a uniquely, eclectic style. For the outdoor enthusiast, not only is there hiking, mountain biking and miles of cross country skiing out your door. The high alpine peaks of the Indian Peak Wilderness Area are easily accessed and only five minutes away. If you prefer a scenic mountain drive, or a spectacular road bike ride, the Peak to Peak Highway is 1/4 mile from our home taking you to Rocky Mountain National Park to the north, or to the casinos of Black Hawk, and Central City to the south. The progressive town of Boulder itself is 16 miles down beautiful Left Hand Canyon road. It offers a large variety of shopping, restaurants and the famous Pearl Street Mall. Given that we are runners, backcountry skiers and mountain bikers, we have an extensive knowledge of the trail systems in the area. We also know Colorado quite well. We speak French & Spanish fluently. PLEASE READ PRIOR TO BOOKING: We welcome budget-minded travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, quiet, considerate & friendly folks. The Space Bedroom: Our spare room has a queen size bed, a desk and a small balcony. Bathroom: Our main bathroom is very spacious and has plenty of space for your toiletries. We have a great all stone shower with amazing water pressure. We keep it always very clean. We (the hosts) have our own separate toilet & sink. As our guest, you are welcome to make your own meals in the main house kitchen, come and go with freedom and make yourself at home. The shared space includes the living room, dining room, and kitchen. We have two fully functional refrigerators. As such, there is plenty of space for your groceries. Our water comes from a glacier located in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. As such, it is unchlorinated & unfluorinated. It is really good, probably among the best in the world. We have the facilities of a comfortable home including a great all stone shower, dishwasher and one of the best wood-burning stoves in the marketplace. We heat our home with wood. As such, our space is not climate controlled. We don’t have air conditioning. If you are looking for a luxury bed & breakfast experience, our space will not be the right fit for you. We truly embrace mountain living as it comes, cutting wood with an axe and shoveling snow manually. Our home is by no means perfect given that we are two women taking care of all remodeling projects. We are constantly improving the space as time & budget allows us to do so. Please note that our space works best for those who are coming to hike, explore nature and/or explore our backcountry areas & Rocky Mountain National Park. If you are looking for a house to settle in, we recommend renting your own house/space. Our house has a very communal feel to it. We have a great kitchen and overall space that we are more than happy to share. Just don't expect the house to feel like a private retreat at all times. On occasion we have a housemate. This varies from season to season. In the spirit of keeping our atmosphere neutral for everyone, we try to keep our house scent/perfume free. If you are used to wearing perfumes/scents, we would greatly appreciate if you do not do so during your stay. We are cannabis (420) friendly provided guests smoke outside the confines of our house. We have 4 acres of land and a very enjoyable deck. There are plenty of exterior patios in our property for those wishing to explore our cannabis industry. Unfortunately, we are allergic to tobacco/cigarette smell. If you are a cigarette smoker, our setup will not work for you. Given that we work a regular schedule, we try to keep our quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am. This means no cooking, loud music or loud conversations in this time period. We have dogs in our property. They are very friendly & well behaved. On your first night, please do not plan to arrive after 9:30 pm. If you Instant Book, please know that we will not be making any exceptions for after 9:30 pm arrivals. In the past, we've had very poor experiences with guests who arrive at 2:00 or 3:00 am on their first night. Given our working schedule, we no longer accept late night arrival reservations. Please observe that we live in the mountains at high elevation (9,250ft). Our winters are variable. From November through early May, please double check with us your need of a 4WD vehicle.
We live below an artistic funky mountain town called Ward located 15 minutes away from Nederland and 25 minutes away from Boulder. We have a great italian restaurant (Marrocco's Family Dining) & an art gallery. We are located 8 minutes away from the Indian Peaks Wilderness which offers a rugged wilderness experience of jagged windswept peaks, alpine tundra, and small glaciers. We have infinite snowshoe, backcountry and xc/nordic trails during the winter.
  • Great hospitality in a wonderfully unique home. Amy and Adriana we're great hosts

  • I had a wonderful time at Adriana's! Her home is amazing. Beautiful aspen grove surrounding the house and so many lovely house plants inside! Also very clean and spacious. I would definitely stay here again.

  • We came here from Eldora and found a cozy place to stay with welcoming and gracious hosts. This place is truly unique to other homes you will find in the area. Tip: follow their directions to the AirBnB! They provide important details not mentioned on google maps, etc. Should you have Qs/run into issues they’re very helpful and their communication is awesome!

  • We cannot speak highly enough of both Amy and Adriana, and their home. They have created a cozy retreat in their mountain home, injecting unique art and decor that reflect their personalities, and reclaiming items when ever possible. It has all the character and charm of a mountain home with wood floors, stone, enormous windows, and a wood burning stove that provides warmth even on the windiest and coldest of nights. The water is the best I’ve ever tasted. More importantly, Amy and Adriana are amazing and generous humans. They are knowledgeable in so many things… hiking, mountain biking, history, local area, adventures, and the list goes on. We had though provoking conversations on a variety of subjects. We left with our hearts full and feeling inspired. So thankful for the experience!

  • Isaac and Corienne provided unprecedented levels of hospitality to my friends and I during our stay. We were kept constantly updated on weather and amenities. The location is just off the road in a hidden part of the Rocky’s; A great stay if it’s your first time in Colorado and you like to take scenic drives. It’s about an hour and a half to two hours to both Rocky Mountain National Park and down south to the multitude of ski resorts. The tiny house, Rusty, is just what you’d expect from it. It’s quaint and cozy. You should definitely buy groceries before heading up the mountain though, as there is a well furnished Kitchen within. Sleeping arrangements work well for 3 people, any more might start feeling a little stuffy. The bathroom allows for showers and toilet use, however the hot water heater is not the most reliable so short showers work best. During our stay, our septic tank actually froze, but Issac and Corienne were quick to amend the situation by offering us full access to their own bathrooms. A few things to note: With the way the standalone heating unit works, it tends to get very dry inside Rusty, so I’d recommend preparing some chapstick. It also may heat unevenly during colder weather. Rusty is 100% worth the stay. Not only for the novelty, but for the level of care and hospitality the hosts put into it.

    Adam2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Isaac & Corienne’s place was nice. Their communication was great and helped us out with local information when we needed it. I would highly recommend it to couples and small groups who just need a place to crash after adventuring all day.

  • I finally got to live out my tiny house dream and it was an awesome experience and so much more. Corienne and Isaac are the definition of Superhosts. They are so kind and accommodating. The communication was always great. They're extremely helpful. The views are breathtaking. It's a cute little town and the location is great. 'Rusty' was spotless and we felt right at home! It's super cute and there is everything you need. I'm very satisfied with choosing this tiny home as my first experience. It's the perfect little tiny home. We would definitely recommend anyone to come stay here and we definitely will be back to experience this tiny home again in the spring/summer. Best birthday ever!!!

  • A very cute and nice getaway from the city!

    Jolie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is adorable and perfect for a night in the mountains! Isaac and Corienne are happy to answer questions about the tiny house and your stay. If you book in the winter, make sure you are comfortable with your car driving in the mountains if there is snow. For eating, it’s a 20 minute drive to the nearest town for restaurants or you can cook in the tiny house!

    Kenna2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Isaac and Corienne were absolutely fabulous in all of their communication both before and during our stay. We stayed in the middle of a snow storm and they really went above and beyond to communicate some of the “snow quirks” of the tiny home and ensure our stay was warm and cozy. “Rusty” is very cozy and well fitted. A fabulous mountain retreat with very kind, caring hosts. We loved it!

    Emily2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute & cozy. We loved the details in the tiny house from the sinks to the faucets, shower and kitchen counter. The owners supplied the place with plenty of towels, toilet paper, paper towels, kitchen necessities, and even half a dozen eggs for us!

The secret? Live simply. Minimize your cost and impact, maximize your fun! *4WD vehicle with good clearance needed to get to the cabin. Seriously. So much snow. $399 for a 4 day pass to Eldora Mountain Resort, 24 miles away, with no blackout dates, and 680 acres of skiable terrain to enjoy. 5 nights at the Rustic Cabin is super affordable, not to mention comfy and cozy on a cold winter's night. Stay 5 nights and get a free meal at the Jamestown Merc! Don't ski? No problem! Come and relax!
This is a private cabin on the mountain property where we live. Because of the isolated nature of the property and the access to the main house, some interaction with the host is necessary when arriving and during your stay. There is a 200 foot driveway to the cabin that is sloped, steeply enough to cause problems for a vehicle without 4WD in snow, depending on the conditions. AWD is often but not always enough. Clearance matters, as well. Chains work but are inconvenient. It is very rustic but well equipped, with a wood stove to keep you warm, no running water but a container with water for drinking and washing up, and an antique commode toilet with chamber pot. (The full bathroom in the main house is available when someone is at home.) The cabin has electricity, and wifi is available on the whole property. There is a small kitchen space, with toaster oven, hot plate, refrigerator, electric kettle, dishes, pots, and pans. It is stocked with some basic staples, in case you didn't get to the store before arriving, such as coffee, tea, cream, sugar, oatmeal, hot chocolate, fresh local eggs, pasta and sauce, cheese and crackers. Delicious local spring water is provided in a large container with a spigot. Guests have access to shower and laundry facilities in the main house, when someone is home. There is a fenced yard, and pets are welcome. At present, no pets live here but at any given time there may be a visiting dog or two, and some local horses, who come to mow the lawn. Be aware there is wildlife in the area, including bears, moose, deer, elk, bobcats, coyotes, and mountain lions. It's one of the great things about living up here but you'll want to keep your pets close. The same goes for small children, who are welcome but know that the cabin is not set up with child safety features like a barrier for the wood stove or outlet covers. In the wintertime, there are two pairs of snowshoes available for use. There is NO CELL SERVICE here, or on the way up the canyon. Wifi calling is available but the connection is not great. For emergencies, there is a landline phone in the main house.
The property is located 18 miles from Boulder, at an elevation of 8600 ft (2620 m). We have a great mountain community up here, with a social center in Jamestown, 4 miles down the hill towards Boulder. The Jamestown Mercantile has live music and dinner 4 nights a week, coffee and burritos in the mornings, and great brunch on the weekends. It's a local gem! Of course, we are 35 minutes from Boulder, with all the fine food, music, and culture to be found there. Nederland is 20 miles to the south, along the scenic Peak to Peak Highway, and has great restaurants, groceries, plus our local ski area, Eldora Mountain Resort. The property is on a dirt road that is well maintained. Walking in the neighborhood is pleasant, with beautiful views. Hiking trails abound in the nearby area, from pleasant strolls through the woods to scaling the peaks of the Continental Divide. Excellent flyfishing is to be had in several local creeks, as well. Like to get into the winter backcountry? Tons of great trails in the area for skiing and snowshoeing day trips, or use the cabin as a jumping off point for a hut trip. For a lazy day of pure fun, take your backcountry ski gear up the lift and ski down through the glades at Eldora. Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are also less than an hour's drive to the north. Denver is an hour and a half to the south. Denver International Airport is a two hour drive.
  • Definitely recommend! When Denise says she stock the cabin with goodies, she for sure does! Farm fresh eggs, local granola bars and fancy cheese! It was so cozy and warm and cute. Also go into Jamestown and check out the Merc!

    Chelsea2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Denise really has perfected hosting the perfect cabin experience! The location of the property is perfect with great hikes very close by and just enough seclusion to give you the wilderness experience. The cabin itself is amazing! Loved cooking on the wood stove and it heats the cabin very effectively. The little kitchen has everything you need to take care of yourself for at least a few days! And yum! Delicious Rocky Mountain spring water included! Really and truly though, Denise herself makes the whole experience special. Her small touches and attention to detail, not to mention her kind and welcoming personality, immediately make you feel warm and at home. I definitely plan on staying with Denise as soon as I can get back to the mountains!

    Justin2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! The cabin was very cozy during a cold, snowy weekend, and there are lots of beautiful places nearby to hike. Try to come when the Jamestown Merc will be open because it was a really special part of our stay. Definitely worth braving the snowy roads! Like Denise says in the ad, you will need 4-wheel drive and/or snow tires in winter, or cable chains. Denise was a very thoughtful and available host and we would definitely recommend staying with her. In winter, bring stuff you can cook on a woodstove. There's a nice water boiler, toaster oven and hot plate (two burners, if you're meal planning) but cooking on the stove was a highlight of our stay.

  • Denise’s tiny home is so lovely. There were so many great little touches of hospitality.

    Jeremy2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, Denise's tiny cabin is awesome! It is super rustic and cute and also very clean. Denise is a spectacular host - she goes above and beyond as a host to answer any questions, help out, and the goodies she leaves for you in the cabin are top-notch! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a rustic little mountain getaway.

    Kallie2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was even better than I expected! Cozy and very well set up - we had everything we needed and Denise was very hospitable, making sure to get us good directions and greet us even though we were arriving late. Clean, warm, and inviting.

    Kelsey2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This comfy cabin is tucked behind Jamestown on Denise’s property. We had an absolutely incredible stay. The house is well-insulated, so we were warm throughout the night despite the snow. The bed is comfy, Denise was a wonderful host—met us at the gate, showed us around, had even warmed the cabin by the time we arrived. Her kitchen is stocked with dishes, staple food items, and Special Treats. Our dog romped around the property. Can’t wait to return!

  • Mariana was so easy to work with. Her home was so beautiful and the view unforgettable. We were only there for a short weekend but it was easy to get to, clean, instructions were clear, cute cuddly cats were there to greet us, the bed was very comfy and each morning we saw wildlife and beautiful mountains. She offered conditioner and shampoo which was such a nice amenity, parking was easy, and we didn’t even need a four wheel drive to get to her place since it was such an easy drive from Boulder. They had a binder full of recommendations for trails and restaurants which we used and loved everywhere we visited. It was overall a great Colorado experience! If you’re looking for a relaxing, mountainous getaway then this is the place for you.

  • An incredible place to stay, an incredible location, and incredible hosts. They were so accommodating and gave me great tips on local places for food, drinks, coffee, etc. I will definitely be back!! I loved every minute.

  • Great hospitality, the views from the house are breath taking, and the cats roaming the home are just so stinking adorable.

  • Beautiful place. Literally in the mountains though so you MUST have a car. We were in love !!

    Veronica2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay here in the mountains of Boulder. It really is a place of serenity, and we loved waking up there in the morning and feeling so well-rested. Also, the cats there are good company and friends. Would love to stay there again and try out a tea ceremony.

    Richard2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mariana's home is a true gem. Tucked away in the mountains of Boulder, this home is conveniently located and easy to get to from Downtown Boulder. It was a perfect retreat from the city for us and we enjoyed a lovely weekend getaway. The room was clean, quiet, and the views are spectacular. The house manual in the room was a very helpful and thoughtful touch and we enjoyed using the large, open kitchen to cook our own meals. Caring for the environment is a top priority in this home and I wish more Airbnb's were like this. However, if you're not accustomed to composting, recycling and a low waste lifestyle- then not to worry. Mariana and Morgan have made it easy for guests to participate in the low waste system of this home. This was one of my best Airbnb experiences and you won't regret staying here. Thank you for a restful, rejuvenating, and relaxing stay and we look forward to returning in the future!

    Avigaiel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mariana's place is gorgeous. It's a fantastic place for a mountain getaway. Peaceful, beautiful, awesome energy, very clean and comfortable. Check in is easy, communication is clear, local recommendations are on point. It's a wonderful place to go and get refreshed. Make sure you do the tea ceremony!

Sky Dancer Chalet is a mystical, tiny house, completely off grid. Spaciously surrounded by 2 acres of Lodge Pole Pines and Aspen trees, drenched with cobalt blue solar lights that glow in the forest at night. Walking paths lit up with glow in the dark rocks. Fire pit for warm glaze in the evening under the milky way star system. It is very private and secluded and an experience that will dwell within your heart long after you leave this magical place.
The Off Grid Chalet is set high up in the rugged, Rocky Mountains above Peak to Peak Hwy. The elevation range is around 8,500 ft. Flourishing with wild life, huge trees, lakes and hiking trails. Located just above the quaint town of Ward Proper, it is 20 minutes to Nederland and 35 minutes to Boulder where there is plenty to do and experience all of its progressive choices. Eldora Ski Resort is close by and there are great hiking trails that you can walk to from the property. There is one that takes you to a lake thats only a 20 minute walk. The Cabin is fully equipped with a small kitchen, living room, compost toilet bathroom (no shower). There is one large bedroom upstairs with a queen bed and a couch dowstairs in the main living quarters. Given the nature of its off grid potential, this precious off grid home has No Running Water (yet), but is fully equipped with composting toilet and purified water dispenser. (Must bring your own water!) (And please wash dishes used) Just a few miles up the road is Peaceful Valley Ranch which has year round hot tub and pool facilities.$6.00 a day for hot tub, pool and showers. There is a propane stove with pans and dishes, propane heater and as well as a small solar system for small amounts of power (internet, lights, computer and phone charging) There is a generator on site for back up. There is internet and computer desk. Candle light for a romantic feel as well as overhead lights for reading or writing, cooking etc. Attached to the tiny house is a small wrap-around greenhouse that supplements the natural heat as well as creates a beautiful garden space to sit and just enjoy its beauty and observe the organic produce growing (except in winter). The property outside has a super fun porch swing, fire pit for a nightly roast or relaxing sitting area outside with benches. Also equipped with a propane grill and a smoker for grilling. There are numerous sitting spaces, to watch the beautiful birds and chipmunks etc. You could possibly glimpse a bear, cougar or moose during your stay and get to experience a wild and magical land with incredible views, wildlife sounds and nature in all of its magnificence. If you travel with your pets, this place is perfect for furry friends to play and roam freely. But keep them safe and close. There is a friendly cat onsite so keep that in mind when bringing dogs. And just let the host know if we need to coordinate free roams if by chance your pet is aggressive towards others. This off grid home is not just somewhere to relax and be at peace, but it is an entirely sustainable experience full of wonder and excitement.
This unique little area is like no other. While there are at least 6 other neighbors a top this peak, they are a wide distance away and it is very quiet so you will barely see a soul. But it is also nice to know that people are around. If you happen to see any, they are the sweetest and most genuine small town sweeties. Just a few miles up the road is a new Cafe at the Historically known Peaceful Valley Resort where you can swim, hot tub, shower, fish, and enjoy many more activities. The town of Ward is just a few miles down the road in the other direction with a general store, and the Local eatery, Moraccos for amazing Italian food and the Mill Site in for brewskies and burgers.
  • Daphne's place is truly magical. My boyfriend and I stayed out here on Christmas weekend and we couldn't imagine it being any better. Just keep in mind that this building truly is off grid!

    Emily2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • My stay here was awesome I went by myself and it ended up being an amazing spiritual experience. Daphne and her boyfriend were super awesome and helpful when I first got there I was able to join the bonfire festivities with them and their friends. Daphne and I ended up having a lot in common and we'll probably be working together soon. I definitely had an unforgettable experience I can't wait to go back its indescribably beautiful up there. :)

    Amber2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place perfect to get away and relax! Totally off the grid, low key and gorgeous setting! Loved every part of it!

    Andi2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say, Daphne is an off grid spiritual warrior! She is lovely, her family is lovely, her kitten is a little nuts but oh so sweet ;)!!! This cabin is in a remote location and gives a great taste of a simpler life. Although not for everyone (ie. Four Seasons types) it is for adventurers and anyone looking for a Colorado Rocky experience. Peace.

    Christine2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed here for a weekend and almost couldn't bring ourselves to leave. This couple is very friendly and the space is amazing. Sprawling property with fun animals. Lots of exploring. This is for those who love nature.

    Ryan2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The nicest hosts you will ever meet and the most beautiful place you could have in the mountains.

    Natanya2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Found this awesome place last minute and loved it more than we expected! Daphne and Brayden were super welcoming, showed us how everything worked in this off-grid stay, built us a fire both nights, and were extremely friendly to our weird little dog. The road to get to the place is bumpy so drive a big car if you can, theres limited phone service (off- grid) but wifi available. 4 of us stayed in the space but would I'd say it's perfect for 2 people- there is a small couch and one bed. Really unique experience for the adventurous soul!

Small house with spectacular tundra views, very private, minutes from Nederland, Eldora ski area, national forest and Indian Peaks Wilderness.
You'll feel like you're out in the woods here, but only 5 minutes away is the fun little town of Nederland, where there are multiple good restaurants, including Nepalese and Thai food, groceries, liquor store, food co op, etc. Drive or take the RTD bus down to Boulder a half hour away or Denver and hour and a half away.... but the real attraction is the Rocky Mountains! On a clear day, go check out Brainard Lake...
  • Nancy's place was absolutely incredible and everything we were looking for in a space.

Cozy cabin for two, equipped with everything you will need for your stay in the mountains. The front porch opens to a wonderful view of the Raymond valley that offers hiking, fishing, horseback riding and is close to Estes Park, RMNP and Lyons.
Studio set up with a partial kitchen (no stove or oven). Essentials include kitchen sink, microwave, coffee maker, small fridge, toaster and bathroom with shower.
We are located in the small, summer community of Raymond located 15 miles outside of Lyons in the Rocky Mountains along the St. Vrain River and off the beaten path. It is quiet, yet close to Estes Park, Lyons, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Indian Peaks Wilderness.
  • Our stay at Joyce and Jerry's place was great! The pipes were frozen in the bunkhouse so they let us stay in another cabin for no extra charge, they also were able to help us with any questions we had. The place is for sale, so buy it up!

    Yutong2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • I am not sure where to even begin with this review. The days I spent at Joyce and Jerry's place and exploring the small towns and trails around them, have been some of the best days of my life. I appreciate their son checking in on me during my first night, because I was alone and it had been the first time I had ever started a wood burning stove :) What a great adventure and experience. I absolutely will be back some day soon! Value and location are amazing! Recommend to anyone seeking a rustic, cozy experience!

    Sierra2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The bunk house was just what we needed for our hiking trip in RMNP. We were met by Dan who was very kind! The bunk house stayed warm with the wood stove burning, but Dan had also left us heaters since it was a pretty good cold spell for October. Nothing more than what you need, a comfy bed, a comfy chair, a kitchenette, and close proximity to amazing views. Thanks for a great weekend mountain getaway!

A relaxing place to hang your hat. Walking distance to unimaginably beautiful hiking trails, downtown Nederland, and public transit to Boulder.
Ground floor with a private entrance and bathroom. The bathroom has good water pressure in the shower and a bidet. Queen sized bed and a couch available for larger groups. Plenty of pillows and blankets provided.
Across the street from the stunning West Magnolia trail system. It's a five-minute drive from Eldora and the amazing Hessie trailhead. Good mountain biking, rock climbing, and hiking.

  • Adorable and just as described. The cabin was perfect for a relaxing retreat. Just the right size and very well appointed. Kitchen had just what I needed and the entire place was very clean. The scenery of trees is so peaceful to look at through the windows. I was there in winter and the cabin was very cozy.

Get on the trails or start relaxing to the sound of Willow Creek. 2 mi. to Wild Basin entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park and in Roosevelt National Forest. Camp without the hassle of setting up the tent or packing pans. Your kitchen is ready - you supply groceries or enjoy Allenspark's Café or Pizzeria. Tuck in with your own sleeping bags on provided linens and pillows. After introduction to the popup and privy, you'll have private use of the deck and campsite.
Parking for one vehicle only. Use of cabin not included. Cell phone coverage is POOR in this area. I will NOT RECEIVE text messages, but look forward to communicating with you by Airbnb app, landline or email.
Enjoy water from Crystal Springs up the road and the pace of life in Allenspark.
  • Delightfully quaint, furnished with every amenity in a unique setting just off the beaten path and close to Wild Basin trail. The cafe across the street was inviting and well-visited but we didn’t make it there ourselves. We would definitely stay again.

    Joanna2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a glamping experience, then look no further. The camper is cozy and very spacious. The location is amazing. You have a small, locally owned restaurant right across the street, which makes the best breakfast. You are still in the mountains with no cell service (wifi is available ) but with some great anemites. It was so perfect!! K was also a wonderful host and she will walk you through everything you need to know to make sure you are safe in the camper among all the wild life. This is a must for a great Rocky Mountain experience.

    Deanna2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a great way to go camping without all the hassle. The camper is clean, roomy, and fully stocked. It has all the cooking essentials, including pans, utensils, a sink with running water and a 3 burner stove. Also, extra blankets and pillows, soaps, and things we found useful that we didn’t think to bring, such as good maps, games, French press, and bear spray! We were also allowed full use of the private deck with a propane grill and table and chairs. AND, no gear to pack up in the end! Other things that stood out was having WiFi (a big bonus since there is no cell coverage for miles), the beautiful stream in the back, the stars at night, the proximity to awesome hiking trails, and the battery operated shower. It’s tucked away on private property yet it is a very short walk to the local restaurants for delicious food. It’s truly comfortable camping or a fun and affordable alternative to renting a small cabin. Tsomo was flexible and graciously accommodated us pretty last minute. She was very easy to communicate with and very welcoming. So glad I found this place. You can’t go wrong staying here.

    Monica2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip was the perfect little getaway with Tsomo’s help. We were well informed, got a little tour of the camper and the beauty surrounding it. I thought the camper would be rather barren but it was full of pamphlets, blankets (if needed), towels, soap, pots, pans, etc. Waking up to the sound of birds and the smell of fresh coffee snd breakfast across the street was almost surreal, especially being on the most beautiful mountain. Would absolutely recommend this stay for those who are adventurous and low maintenance.

    Ameri2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The host is nice and knowledgeable of the area! It was great to have a camping spot already set up and to be so close to the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park. At night it felt like we could touch the stars. Playing Jenga and other games in the cozy camper made priceless family memories we will cherish forever! The Meadow Mountain Cafe close by had really good food too and the people of Allenspark are awesome!

  • K created the setting for a perfect weekend! They provided so many little things, paid attention to all the details, and was amazingly warm and hospitable. Great access to RMNP and the cute little town of Allenspark. I will definitely stop by again.

Bright open house outstanding views. Just 10 min from the mountain town of Gold Hill and 30 min from Boulder. Close to Brainard Lake, RMNP, Peaceful Valley and Caribou Open Space. Secluded yet all the modern conveniences . Great place to unwind and enjoy the fantastic views of the foothills yet easy to get to local tourist attractions. The last 2 miles of your trip is on a rough road 4wd is a must in the winter and is preferred year around though 2wd cars manage fine in the summer .
One mile off the county road allows you to only hear the birds and enjoy the views with out any neighbors. https://www.forbes.com/sites/garystoller/2019/02/27/better-than-disney-or-maui-a-travel-journalist-takes-you-to-his-favorite-hideaway/?fbclid=IwAR1B6bgOHhE7769teZAgU_rJL8rnSQznnHd7_phv3x5Q3Y1ukMO8jAi1AGI#a230576275df

  • We were blown away by the spectacular view right out the living room windows! It's so quiet and peaceful, we often forgot the windows were open. I can't say enough great things about Mark's place. I loved everything, including the fun and incredibly scenic adventure driving up the canyon into Gold Hill, then the bouncy jeep road to the cabin from there. Great communication with Mark. He was kind to meet us in Gold Hill, even though our flight arrived a later than usual check in time. He escorted us to the cabin (very helpful in the dark) and gave us a quick tour upon arrival. Very grateful to Mark for sharing this amazing place. I would love to visit many more times.

    Kristy2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was very clean, amazing views. Mark was readily accessible for every need that arose. Definitely recommend the 4 wheel drive for flatlanders 😁

    James2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was fantastic! Amazing views and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Mark was exceptionally helpful with directions and patient with us as we made our first trip up the mountainside! Originally we took Sunshine Canyon from Boulder to Gold Hill. The end of Sunshine Canyon caught up off guard as the road changes from paved to dirt the closer you come to Gold Hill. We were in an unfamiliar rental, in an unfamiliar area, going up a mountain side on a winding dirt road! Scary! Every other trip up and down the mountain we took Lickskillet to Lefthand Canyon instead. Little steeper, but wider and less curves. Definitely recommend taking this way if you’re inexperienced with mountain driving.

    Jenny2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a secluded, peaceful, place with all the amenities- you’ve found it! It’s a trek to get there but worth the adventure. Has everything you could need and the view is stunning. Great hosts and awesome experience.

The nearest grocery stores and restaurants are a 15-20 minute drive to Boulder, so come prepared if you'd like to dine in.
  • Awesome views of the mountains and the downtown in the distance. Nice place and great hosts!

    Dylan2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Isaac’s place is nothing short of breathtaking. The views from the private balcony were phenomenal and was exactly what we wanted as out-of-state guests. We lucked out with the weather(sunny and in the 50’s) but awd vehicles are a must to navigate up the unpaved terrain to get to the home. Also make sure to buy some snacks or food prior to checking in. The location is about 20 minutes outside of Boulder city so you definitely want to plan accordingly. We we’re under the impression it would be easy access for an Uber pick up or delivery service but found that we had to drive back down the mountain into Boulder City to eat. Do NOT let this discourage you (just make sure you get some food prior to checking in)!! The hosts are super accommodating and the views are something that made our stay even more memorable. So glad we chose to stay here for our trip and definitely would recommend it! :)

    Marisa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful studio with amazing views! This place way exceeded my expectations. A couple minor things to be aware of: There might be a residual smell of pot (I suppose not surprising given it's Colorado) — bring air freshener or a scented candle if that will bother you. Also, you definitely do need a 4WD to get to the top of the driveway: we tried in a sedan and failed, but luckily there was space to park at the side of the road further down and we hiked up the driveway on foot. But overall this was a stunning place, wish I could stay longer!

    Jeff2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful little guest house with awesome views! Bed was a little hard but we got used to it. We drove to Boulder frequently and the views driving through the mountains were AMAZING. Highly recommend this place!!

    Shelby2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views and great hospitality. The studio has some great amenities, hot tub was private and amazing. The host is very friendly and offered lots of suggestions for our time in the mountains. Will stay here the next time we visit CO!

    Anthony2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Isaac and Alicia are incredible hosts who went above and beyond when our car got stuck (definitely need four wheel drive). The view is out of this world, the pictures for this listing don’t do it justice. I can barely think of the right words to describe just how incredible this stay was. If you’re in Denver or Boulder or whenever, you must stay here!!

    Karli2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a must stay! The views are amazing and we woke up to a heard of elk moving through the yard:) Isaac was so great at communicating! He made our stay easy and we felt very welcomed.

    Jamie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • WOW- I still cannot believe we did that. First time in Colorado for a romantic getaway with my husband and it was perfection. If you are second guessing getting a 4 Wheel Drive vehicle, GET IT!!! We managed to get up the mountain but needed a locals help towing us up. They are not just suggesting an AWD Vehicle but it seriously a necessity. Pictures literally do not do justice of amazing the views are. The hot tub was incredible, the drive was gorgeous— we will 100% stay here again if we come back to Colorado!

Granny's House is 4 miles from Allenspark and 8 miles from the Wild Basin entrance to Rocky Mtn. N.P. (Post Office delivery address is Lyons, CO). Altitude is 8,200 ft. above sea level.
Located on 2.41 acres, the redwood cabin has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living room (TV), kitchen, and dining area. Basement lounge (TV & DVD) and laundry. Satellite TV & WIFI. Local phone calls & long distance with calling card. Cell phone service in the area is almost non-existent. Yes, hard to believe in this age. Our boys Grandmother & Great Grandmother lived here; hence the name. Someday when we downsize our current home in Allenspark, we will live here also.
Rocky Mtn. NP is the main draw to the Allenspark area without the hustle, bustle, and traffic of Estes Park. St. Vrain Mtn. & Allenspark Trailheads, Cowbell, Bunce School, Peaceful Valley, Wild Basin and Brainard Lake (Roosevelt Nat'l. Forest & RMNP) are within a few miles from Granny's House. Two area favorites in Allenspark are the Meadow Mtn. Cafe and Rock Creek Tavern & Pizzeria. Also the Meeker Park Lodge, 5 miles north of Allenspark has groceries and other necessaries.
  • Granny’s place is a great place to stay to enjoy nature! It is in a great location if you are planning on visiting Estes or RMNP. You are close enough to both but far enough that you can escape the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist season. It is a neat little cabin with lots of character, and Gene & Kathy are very accommodating.

    Luke2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Granny’s. To us, the best part was the location. We were close enough to Estes that we could enjoy all it had to offer, but we were also far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of people. The cabin brought back great memories for us as it truly did feel like we were at Granny’s place. There was everything we needed to be comfortable and even fresh flowers on the table upon arrival. We would recommend Granny’s and would stay again on our next trip.

    Steve2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gene & Kathy were great hosts! They had lots of good written info about the place, lots of troubleshooting tips (mostly for issues we didn't encounter, but the info was there!) and they were hospitable and friendly when we did have interactions, They were quick to reply to communications, and responded quickly to a minor maintenance issue we noticed and informed them of. The home was well represented and very comfortable to stay in. Highly recommended!

  • Really enjoyed out stay in this quite cabin in the woods. Gene & Kathy were wonderful to meet in person. Would stay again for sure.

  • Granny's cabin was amazing. This place is great for a quick getaway, if you enjoy the scenery of nature. My family and I really enjoyed it. Very spacious.

    Lana2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • I highly suggest this place to anyone looking to stay around the Estes Park area. Granny’s place is about 30 minutes to the welcome center of Rocky Mountain National Park. We were able to see more wild life driving to the park than in the park. You get the the peace and quiet of a true mountain home. The experience is truly authentic. It has all the comforts of home. Gene and Kathy are truly amazing hosts that provide you with all the information you need and willing to assist you anyway possible.

    Julie2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a great location, if you want a cabin that has everything you could possibly need , if you want great hospitality, then Granny's cabin is for you.

Beautiful light filled cabin with amazing views of the continental divide. The cabin was owned by a professor of climate science from England who was also a well published poet. There are several common spaces with great views of Gold Hill and the surrounding rocky mountains.
Two bedrooms with queen beds - both with large windows. Kitchen has a medium table next to large western facing windows. Bathroom has a claw foot tub and shower. Kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, and utensils, plus some oils and spices. A large study with library and desk and beautiful views of the town of Gold Hill and the Continental Divide. There's also a large loft with two mattresses for additional guests.
Gold Hill is small mountain town of roughly 250 people in Boulder County. The town is located to the northwest of Boulder, perched on a mountainside above Left Hand Canyon at an elevation of 8,300 feet. Originally a mining camp, it was the site of the first major discovery of gold during the 1859 Colorado Gold Rush and remained an important mining camp throughout the late 19th century, with a population approaching 1500 at its height, before falling into decline. It has been revived somewhat in recent years as a quiet isolated haven, with no paved streets, but easily accessed by dirt roads. The town contains numerous historic wooden structures, some restored in recent years, as well decaying ruins from its mining heyday. The Gold Hill Inn sits in the middle of town and serves dinner, offers live music several nights a week, and host special events like weddings. There is also a small museum and two-room schoolhouse, the Gold Hill School, which since 1873 has been the oldest continuously operating public school in Colorado. The town is laid out on a small grid of dirt streets.

  • Ty’s Mountain Cabin is exactly what we needed for a relaxing, beautiful mountain getaway. The entire cabin exceeded our expectations. Honestly, I wish we could have stayed forever. We will definitely be back! Ty was great with communication and making sure we had the directions we needed. We brought our doggo ( a Great Pyrenees) and he loved it just as much as we did. I cannot stay enough about this eclectic, cozy cabin.

  • We absolutely loved this space. The house has so much character and is positioned incredibly; overlooking the small town of Goldhill and with a view of the continental divide. It was perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. Ty was great and provided some thoughtful touches/amenities in the space as well. I definitely intend on returning.

  • This cabin is a climb up a number of stone stairs, down a walkway, around a bend... it's hard to find! AND, it's worth getting lost to find it. What a stunning space. Definitely the most beautiful we've been to, especially if you like natural materials, a little rustic, stone and log, huge old wood burning stove.

  • Shelby is an awesome host! Quick response and thoughtful. Solved all our problems. Sitting in jacuzzi at night with a city view under starring sky is definitely something unforgettable. Her roommate and her neighbor are super nice as well! We will come back for sure!

  • Wow-- the view at this place! Perfect for watching sunsets in the hot tub. You will absolutely need 4WD to access this place in the winter. I recommend doing the drive once before sunset as it is quite steep. That being said, the place is very cozy and well-decorated! The heat is nice and toasty, which is great for this time of year. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back!

    Alexis2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing location! I wish I would have been able to stay longer honestly. I wanted to see the sunrise/set. It was snowing the time we were there and she's def. not kidding when she says her driveway is steep. So be careful. Overall great place to stay at! Most likely will be back during summer/fall time! Btw, hot tub was amazing and her roommate Shawn was pretty chill.

  • Shelby’s place is amazing! Incredible hospitality and quick responses made staying with her so easy. We visited in winter and it just snowed and she was sure to let us know ahead of time to tent a vehicle with 4 wheel drive to get up The drive which was super helpful. And the views are insane! The hot tub was our favorite part. We would definitely stay with her again!

  • Nestled right in the mountains, but off of a conveinent road to Boulder. Very cute touches all over the space, fresh flowers and a wondeful gift basket. The fire place was the cherry on top.

  • This is truly the Rocky Mountain experience. Beautiful and rustic yet modern cabin looking right up into the Rockies. Incredible view and great location if your looking to ski in Eldora. Jeff and Cynthia made the experience that much better. They were very prompt with responses, thoughtfully decorative, attentive, and knowledgeable of the area. Jeff made great suggestions on where to find Moose territory, great restaurants, historical landmarks, and more. The cabin is the perfect amount of rustic and modern amenities. Very thoughtful greeting card with our state flag represented and Colorado themed gifts there upon arrival. We appreciated they’re thorough suggestions and also their respect for our space. Very welcoming and hospitable people. So good that we hope to come back as soon as possible!! Definitely check it out, it’s a great value for the price! They also have a very welcoming dog helping as well!

  • Cynthia's place is so peaceful and serene. Close to town but far enough to feel like you are away from the city. Loved it!

    Kristina2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia’s place was fantastic. The scenery was beautiful! All of the details in the cute bungalow were very special. She had snacks for us and gave us a very informative tour around the space despite rolling in at 11pm. Highly recommend Cynthia’s place.

Charming, quiet cabin getaway in the mountains! Come drink coffee in the shade of our beautiful aspen grove, and revel in the beauty of our stunning mountain view. Close enough to Nederland to run out for dinner, but a world away from cares or worries.
Guests will have full use of all of our cabin's amenities, from our warm, cozy wood stove to our expansive deck with wonderful views. Hurrican Hill is rife with wildlife, so expect to see moose, elk, deer and foxes (depending on the season)! Located a brief drive from Eldora Ski Resort, the town of Nederland, Brainard Lake, and countless other hiking/snowshoeing trails, our little mountain retreat is prefect for any kind of mountain adventure. Our little cabin is easily accessible by car-all but the very last portion of the approaching road is paved, and the dirt section is very well maintained. It is located in a small mountain community, so while it’s shouting distance from neighbors on two sides, guests still get to experience the quiet solitude of a mountain retreat. We're happy to host your pets along with you. Please note, we do request an additional $50 fee for guests bringing fur babies, which will be added after your request to book has been accepted.
This neighborhood is full of wildlife and stunning vistas - take a walk down the road and at every bend, be delighted by the views and tranquility.
  • A quaint little cabin with some thoughtful niceties.

    Jay2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is secluded in a very quiet area of Nederland. It is in a perfect location to drive down to Ned or any hikes in the area, and then return to rest up.

    Olisa2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! Inside and out, this cozy cabin has all the right touches. Breathtaking views from the deck, very private thanks to the aspen grove, and was warm during winter, even without the wood stove. Casey was very sweet and helpful, even made sure to notify us of weather alerts before our departure. We’ve stayed in many Airbnbs over the last decade, and this location is magical. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended, to truly take in all that the surroundings have to offer. Convenient enough to explore Boulder, The Rockies, even Denver, while being perfectly tucked away from the world, in the beautiful mountains.

    Lisette2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Casey's Cozy Cabin in Nederland is the perfect getaway for humans and pets alike. For such a reasonable price, we were able to enjoy a lovely few days in the peace and quietude that this cabin affords. There were very nice little touches like Kind bars and oatmeal packets, as well as pet food and water bowls. Casey was always very quick to respond to our every request, and we were even able to extend our stay.

    Tim2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really special find. Off the grid but with all the amenities one would normally find in an Airbnb in the city. The stars were amazing at night off the deck and the sunrise amongst the aspens was so worth the drive out there - as opposed to staying in town. Great dog friendly accommodations. Prior experience with wood stoves recommended (we made it without any though!) Hope to be back in the fall to see the trees change. Thanks again

    Bryan2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great couple of days to rest. Off the beaten path but just a short drive to Ned. We had amazing Nepali’s food in Ned and hike at Hesse trailhead to Lost lake. Look forward to staying here again in the future.

Rustic, small, basic, affordable cabin. Backs up to national forest, 10 minutes from Wild Basin Trail Head of Rocky Mountain National Park, 20 minutes from Estes Park. No WIFI, no TV, no cell reception (yay!); perfect base camp for those looking to disconnect and enjoy the secluded mountain life for a few days. Also... we mean “rustic” in the true sense of the word, not in a trendy way!
The bathroom and kitchen share a room (our long term renters affectionately call it the "bitchen") and there is a door that separates it from the main room. It's a small, yet efficient space with a shower, sink, toilet, mini fridge, decent counter space and almost everything you need out of a kitchen. It is supplied with everything you need to eat, plus a coffee maker, mini fridge, hotplate toaster, toaster oven, sauce pans and skillets. It is a tight space, but if you can handle it you can cook almost anything! There is a grill outside and propane is provided. Backs up to national forest. Playground at the bottom of the hill, behind The Old Gallery, for children.
Allenspark has two restaurants and a gift shop, and a community center with free Verizon cell service and wifi. There is a trail head into Rocky Mountain National Park here. FOOD There is a pizza restaurant (The Rock Creek Tavern) and a breakfast/lunch restaurant (Meadow Mountain Cafe) in town, just across the highway from us. Otherwise, there is no food available. We do not have a grocery store within 20 miles of us so please come prepared. GAS We do not have a gas stations within 20 miles of us either, so please come prepared.
  • This cabin is exactly what we needed. Unplug with no internet or tv, no distractions...it was perfect!!!! Fallin asleep to the sound of the rain, was very soothing and calmin, along with a very comfortable bed. The feel of this cabin was very peaceful, relaxing, calming, quiet. We will be staying here again next year, and will recommend to everyone to stay here.

    Jessica2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place close to RMNP! We stayed here as our pre-wedding and our first leg of our 10 day long Colorado honeymoon. Simple to locate the cabin and use the directions provided by the host. You will LOVE disconnecting from your cell phone and internet. We loved it. Close to the park. Simple. And perfect. I couldn’t have thought of a better way to enjoy the company of my now wife!

    Christopher2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's place is in an excellent location! We loved the Allenspark community, including the Old Gallery and the pizzeria. The proximity to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park was great. Rachel's description of the place matches the experience. The cabin is small and near the primary residence on the property. However, it still offers somewhat of a secluded feeling.

    Kelsea2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel is a wonderful host! Quick to respond and give helpful tips on the area. We stayed 2 nights while we were hiking in and around RMNP. perfect escape from the city! It fit my wife and I and our dog perfectly. Think she notes this in the post, but this cabin is small, prob size of a normal hotel room, but with so much more charm!

    Sam2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Stay in this cabin. We absolutely loved it. Prime location just outside of estes park, rocky mountain national park, and roosevelt national forest. Rachel was quick to respond to any concerns we had prior to the trip. We had no problems during our stay.

    Keely2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's place was great, and a great value. Considering what we spent the cabin was so much nicer than we expected. It was a great base camp for hiking in the park!

  • Amazing cabin to escape to.

    Angela2019-08-10T00:00:00Z

  • Nice location and place. Fairly steep, long driveway, Nederland got a foot of snow while we were there. We made it but we had AWD.

    Greg2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy spot in a wonderful location. The place is huge for the price and it feels like home. Mike responded quickly to our questions and everything was as described. It even snowed and Mike cleared the driveway for us. This is the best Airbnb that we have stayed in! We look forward to our next trip here! Thanks!

  • The place was very quaint and peaceful. 5 stars for me!

    Brooke2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Place was very clean and tidy. Comfortable bed and couch. The walls are very thin, so you can hear conversations and footsteps from the house above. The gas fireplace in bedroom is very nice, but it makes a little noise when it kicks on/off, and it illuminates the room... Light sleepers should plan accordingly. Great place overall.

Cozy three-bed mountain studio in the Sugarloaf area west of Boulder. One queen bed and two twin beds, wifi, private bathroom, big closet, table set, coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Outdoor deck, grill and spa with amazing views of the surrounding forest. Only steps away from the Betasso Nature Reserve, a top destination for hiking and mountain biking. Cool in summer and warm in winter. Plenty of parking space. Drive into town for all of Boulder amenities, or drive West into the Rockies...
Location, location, location!! It's sunny, sheltered and 10 minutes from downtown Boulder. The studio is located in the lower level of a bi-level home located just one mile up Sugarloaf Road, with priority one road plowing, so no winter hassles. An easy 10 minute drive to town. Hiking and mountain biking trails start at the door, with the Betasso Nature Reserve only steps away. World class granite climbing only 10 minutes away in Boulder Canyon and Dream Canyon. Drive to Eldora Ski Resort 35 minutes away, Indian Peak Wilderness and Rocky Mountain National Park via Sugarloaf Road, avoiding all hassle. Drive to the ski resorts on I-70 (Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, Winter Park, etc) via Nederland and Black Hawk City, avoiding the worst part of I-70. Situated on a cul-de-sac provides peace, quiet and seclusion. Ideal for a quiet retreat with plenty of outdoor access.
It is a beautiful and quiet neighborhood with plenty of space. The home sits on one acre of beautiful forest. The neighborhood is super safe and neighbors are very friendly and helpful. Many artists and outdoorsy types live up here. Less hype and more soul than down there in the Republic of Boulder. Mountain living at its best.
  • Really great location and space Joaquin's an excellent and attentive host! Highly recommend booking here!

    Jim2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This space is absolutely perfect if you are looking for quiet simple enjoyment of your surroundings. Clean comfortable spacious. And the hot tub is an amazing way to end the day. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and I will be back!

    Jill2018-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Joaquin is an excellent host, full of suggestions and very responsive. Sadly, we were out then he stopped by to say hello, but upstairs neighbor Mike was also especially friendly and helpful. Would absolutely recommend!

    Samuel2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This spot gives you the off the grid mountain experience only 15 minutes from downtown Boulder. You can connect to wifi if you want or totally unplug - huge bonus for me. The Hot Tub came in handy after some long hikes and rock climbing the First Flat Iron. If you are interested in a rock climbing guide, check out Denver Mountain Guiding. They have options for all experience levels near Boulder and Denver. The Betasso Preserve offers a few moderate hikes in varying lengths with expansive mountain views. It seems especially great for mountain biking (not allowed Wednesday or Saturdays). It was a private entrance left unlocked for me to enter and the room had its own lock and key. Ample space for multiple travelers and gear in the single room with a private bath connected. Three beds (sleeps 4) by huge windows for falling asleep under the stars, if you choose. Coffee on tap and grill on the deck. Soft towels and a standing shower. Thanks for a great stay!

    Katie2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Apartmentis in a great location just outside of Boulder but you feel like you’re way up in the hills. Easy to fine though clean with a great hot tub and gas grill on a private porch overlooking the hills and beautiful words. Communication was excellent, great coffee, comfortable bed – couldn’t ask for more really excellent.

    Kevin2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to use as a base camp for visiting Boulder. It's a one room place, though there's plenty of room to move. The hot tub is wonderful. It's really well located. You feel like you are far removed from the city, but it's actually just 10 mins down the hill. It's easy to get around the front range from here (it's about an hour to Estes Park, Denver, white water rafting destinations, etc.). It's got a really cool tree house, and it's in an incredible setting. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to get away to the mountains!

    Jason2018-08-08T00:00:00Z

Welcome to Hidden Lake! The perfect home base for your outdoor adventure or secluded relaxation vacation. Enjoy incredible views of Indian Peaks and the private neighborhood lake. The house is well equipped for winter with radiant floor heat and a cozy wood stove. There is also an oversized detached two car garage for parking. Fantastic opportunities for snow shoeing and XC skiing in the neighborhood and in the close trail systems.
***We are doing our normal cleaning and fully disinfecting and sanitizing the house between guests with bleach and lysol (we have plenty!!). We are also spreading out stays for extra precaution. *** This neighborhood gives you incredible recreation area access. We are 5 minutes from Brainard Lake Recreation Area (fantastic snow showing and XC skiing in Winter with breathtaking views) and many other trail systems. Nederland is 20 minutes away with plenty of restaurants. Boulder is 35 minutes away and Estes Park is 40 minutes away. With no cell phone service at the house, you can truly get away from it all and unwind. We have a land line for phone calls and satellite internet for wifi. We also have a TV, DVD player, DVD's, a Wii, Board Games, and Books if you want to cozy up inside. The huge Lazy Boy chair in the living room is a great place for morning coffee and a great book. Kitchen includes Coffee Maker, Microwave, Toaster, Stove/Oven, Refrigerator, Dishawasher, dishes, plenty of coffee mugs, and cookware. You will need 4wd/awd and snow tires to access the house in the winter.
Our neighborhood is secluded and beautiful. It is mostly vacation homes with a few full time residents. In the middle of the neighborhood is a wonderful lake that is stocked yearly with trout. Nearby Activities: Brainard Lake Recreation Area (XC skiiing, snowshoeing, hiking, sightseeing) - 5 minutes Moroccos (Family Dining) - 5 minutes Jackleggers (Coffee and Snacks, very limited groceries) - 5 minutes Sourdough Trail System (XC skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, hiking) - 3 minutes Ceran St. Vrain Trail System (XC skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, hiking) - 10 minutes The Glass Tipi (Art Gallery) - 5 minutes Jamestown Mercantile (Family Dining, Live Music, Brunch) - 15 minutes Nederland, CO (restaurants, grocery store, breweries, library) - 20 minutes Eldora Ski Resort - 30 minutes Estes Park, CO (gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, bowling alley, restaurants, movie theater, grocery stores) - 40 minutes Rocky Mountain National Park - 45 minutes
  • We had a relaxing and wonderful stay. The house is large enough the accommodate 6+ people, though it was just my wife, pups and myself. The wood stove in the Winter is just what we needed. The kitchen is fully equipped for any chefs out there, something we thoroughly enjoyed in the healing wooded setting. We hope to return in the Summer months to visit the lake just down the road!

1,200 square feet of your own personal space in the Colorado Rocky Mountains! Comfortable accommodations, 5 minutes from Nederland, with stunning views, 3 acres of woods to wander, and a patio with fire pit. An unforgettable mountain experience! ***Please note that this is the bottom unit of a 2-unit rental; there may be other renters in the upstairs during your stay. There is a locked door separating the units, and separate entrances to each unit.***
The spacious bottom unit in our cabin has two bedrooms and one full bath, with stunning and unobstructed views of Mt. Thoradin to the east and the privacy of 3 acres of woods to the north. Looking for restaurants, coffee shops, and music? The town of Nederland is a five minute drive away. Eldora ski resort is a 20 minute drive, and Boulder is 25 minutes down the canyon. ***Please note: there is no washer/dryer in this unit, and there is not a full kitchen.*** We do, however, provide a well-stocked kitchenette. The kitchenette has a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, dishes and cutlery, a Brita water filter, cutting board and knife, dish soap, new sponge and kitchen towels. The only water source in the lower unit is in the bathroom, so this will be where you wash dishes. Need something else to make the kitchenette work for you? Please ask! Also, there is a laundromat in town, if you need to do laundry. We have no air-conditioning in the unit, as summer temperatures in Nederland rarely exceed 85 degrees F, and the bottom unit stays pleasantly cool, naturally. For heat, we have new electric baseboard heat that you can set for each room as desired. The house is professionally cleaned before each guest arrives, and our mattresses and pillows have encasements that keep these items pristine and clean from one guest to another (in case cleanliness is a deciding factor for you...). Our cleaning staff lives in Ned, so your cleaning fee stays in the local community. Our staff can also arrange housecleaning services during longer stays-- there is info on this in the Guest Book. As already mentioned, this unit is the lower unit in a two-unit house. There is a wraparound deck on the upper unit, but that is only for those renters. The lower unit has a private bistro patio set outside the queen bedroom that faces east, and there is a shared back patio with a fire pit. The woods and hammocks are also open to all renters. Please know that our house is REALLY in the mountains, which means, there is wildlife to be found year-round. You will no doubt see some elk, deer, coyotes, bobcats, or moose in your stay, but you will also need to bring all food indoors at night to prevent any visits by bears. (cute from a distance, but not when they are right outside your bedroom) This is a place to enjoy the quietness of mountain life, and not a place for loud parties. Our neighbors like us, and we like them, and we would like to keep it that way. :) If having a drink around the fire pit, talking with friends and family, and gazing up at the stars is your jam, then this is the place for you. If you're looking for a more exciting nightlife, this is probably not your ideal location. Finally, my husband (who is an avid ultra-runner) has put together some information about local trails, so if you're looking to spend a lot of time exploring the trails around Ned, this will be a great resource for you. There is also a comprehensive Guest Book at the house, giving lots of information about the house and town. If you have a question not answered in here, please call/text us, and we will get back to you asap. We love this place, and want to do everything we can to ensure you love it, too.
If you haven't been to Nederland, Colorado, you are missing out. It is quirky, beautiful, rugged, and full of extremely friendly people.

  • This cabin is just amazing... Perfect for spending some days in absolute peace, surrounded by nature. Hurricane Hill is a magical spot right above Nederland (Co) with access to numerous hiking trails, panorama views and definitely one of the best in the area to spot wild life. Me and my friend spent our thanksgiving break in the cabin and had a great time. We had some issues during our stay due to a black out cause by strong wind that affected the whole area, but the hosts were quick in helping us and answering our messages! I really suggest the cabin to anyone who loves nature, hiking and just relaxing in general... I probably gonna visit again Kristina's cabin myself!

    Tommaso2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION, what a breathtaking view. For the price, you can’t beat it. It is everything and more than we were looking for to get the mountain experience. Would 100% stay again!

    Mitch2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • LOVED THIS PLACE! The property is absolutely beautiful when we stayed in mid-November. The living space is very comfortable and warm! When waking up in the morning and stepping outside, the first thing you see is the beautiful overlook of the mountains and sunrise over the lake. This property is very secluded so you wont be bothered by noise or traffic. If you're looking for a getaway, this is your best option! We also loved the fireplace and patio on the side of the house, and the small town of Nederland just below the mountain (8 min drive). Definently will be coming back!

If you love beauty, you’ll enjoy the guest room in my sunny mountain home just 15 min above Boulder. This sacred sanctuary is home to birds, wildlife and gardens on 2 acres. Private upstairs room has large windows on 3 walls. Freshly painted/carpeted. Furnishings: queen bed, nightstand, antique chifforobe, desk, chair. Perfect for private retreat. The deck is huge for sunning/stargazing. Also enjoy living room, dining room, kitchen, private bath w/ shower, parking, tea/coffee plus peace & quiet.
A short walk brings you to a rock overlook so you can see the entire city perched at the base of the foothills. It’s a great place for musing or meditating. Inside is beautifully furnished. I use natural cleaning products and avoid anything with artificial fragrance. Smoking is permitted outside. You will love the energy of this place – quiet, peaceful and meditative.
I live in a beautiful subdivision called Boulder Heights. My road, Sky Trail, is off the beaten path and very quiet. Neighbors aren't too far away but not too close either. You'll find wildflowers, trees and herbs throughout the area. It is a haven for birds, fox and deer.
  • Incredible location!! Gorgeous sunrise views!! So many wonderful windows to the beautiful pine trees and mountains in the spacious bedroom. Comfortable bed. Large bathroom. So many delicious teas and coffee to choose from. Just an amazing place to stay. Shari and her place are amazing!! Highly recommend!!
