Up north at its best! Stay in a custom cabin in the middle of Rocky Top Farms, a cherry orchard. Please read this listing completely!
Custom timber-frame cabin was built by my husband, father-in-law, and me with the help from many, many friends. The little cabin is in the middle of a large cherry orchard in the heart of beautiful northern Michigan and is situated on a pond surrounded by birch trees. The love is in the details at this very special place. Climb a ladder to the romantic sleeping loft and gaze at the incredible northern night skies! Wonderful front porch! Locally made art. Amazing soapstone wood stove for cozy warmth and romantic, flickering firelight. Shared outdoor 6 person hot tub. The small kitchen is equipped with all you might need to make some wonderful meals. Fridge, sink, oven with stove top griddle, microwave. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, dishes, cups, mugs, basic oils and spices are included. OH~ and coffee maker complete with coffee. Towels, bedding and firewood are also provided. Enjoy acres of Michigan orchard, prairie, and woodlands. The north end of Torch Lake is just a couple miles away. Lake Michigan beaches are within minutes of driving. Ski resorts, breweries (can you say SHORT'S BREWING?), wineries, restaurants, farm markets are all within reach for great day trips. This property is best accessed by four- wheel drive during the winter months. You could say we are off the beaten path. This cabin can be rented in conjunction with The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms- check it out! The Treehouse is near The Cabin, but both buildings have been designed to have a feeling of privacy. There is a wall of pine trees between the cabins. Please be reminded that this is a working orchard. You may hear ambient tractor noises at various times. You should have 4 wheel drive to access the cabin in winter- I am not joking!!! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! We are located 15 minutes south of Charlevoix and 20 minutes north of Elk Rapids. Bellaire (home to Short's Brewery) is 20 minutes away. Traverse City is about 30 minutes to our south. See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. No public transport around here, sorry. You must have 4 wheel drive to visit the cabin in the winter.... Otherwise, prepare to hike about 1/4 mile to the cabin, and park at the barn. The water here is well- water. It isn't the city water you might be used to. It does have a yellowish cast because there are many tannins in it. The water has been tested, and is fine to drink. You may want to bring your own drinking water if are used to chlorinated water.
We love our rural neck of the woods! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. Our immediate neighbors consist of farmers, artists, a college professor, bee keepers, a massage therapist, a chef, an energy conservationist and a professional star-gazer_ truly! Our neighborhood is spread across many miles, but we are look out for each other and are friends.
  • As a first-time Airbeb-er, this cabin set the bar high. (And not just because there was a loft.) The space was more delightful and charming than we anticipated, with many personal touches that made it feel like home. (Think handmade plates and mugs, potted plants, books galore.) We were secluded, but not so far from a main road that finding the place was difficult. Snuggly robes, friendly notes, and a little jar of homemade cherry butter made my husband and I feel so welcomed. (Am I gushing? I'm gushing.) The best place we could have spend a week. Hooray, Rocky Top Farms!

  • This was our second time visiting the Cabin! Once again we had a flawless and relaxing stay. This time we never left the Cabin, only for food and drinks! We enjoyed sitting on the porch, going for walks on the orchard and enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere. Lots of nature to observe and explore. We had lots of privacy, but knew if we needed anything Heidi would be available! We cannot wait to come back again!! It is such a special place!

  • We loved the cabin! Not only was it clean and properly prepared and stocked with basics, but Heidi was responsive and helpful. We hope to cone back soon!

  • We had an amazing time at Heidi's cabin. It was a much needed relaxation. Everything was as described if not better. The cabin was clean and inviting and we will be back for sure!

  • This was our second trip to the cabin at Rocky Top, and we loved it just as much as our first stay! The beautiful orchard was the perfect setting for the peaceful getaway we were hoping for. The cabin was clean and welcoming as always. We loved staying cozy by using the wood stove for heat. We spent our days reading, cooking, watching movies, and taking walks in the orchard. Heidi is a phenomenal host and available to help with anything needed. We can't wait to come back for a third stay!

  • Once again, Rocky Top Farms did a great job. This time we stayed at the small cabin, and were thrilled with the coziness, the cleanliness and the beautiful surroundings. Oh, and the books! I loved the books!

  • We arrived about an hour prior to check-in and Heidi and her husband were just finishing up preparing the cabin for us. They were both very friendly and welcoming and didn't take issue with us being early. The cabin and property were absolutely gorgeous. We brought our two German Shepherds with us and they had the time of their life roaming the property. There was a complimentary jar of Cherry Butter provided for us inside the cabin which we loved so much that we purchased a box containing 6 more at their self serve gift shop! Heidi was very easy to get a hold of and helpful with any questions we had during our stay. Overall our stay at Rocky Top Farms was absolutely amazing and a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of the city life we're so used to. We want to thank Heidi for allowing us the opportunity to stay on her property and we would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful, remote place to get away.

  • The Little Cabin at Rocky Top Farms is basically the perfect of mix of being away from everything with just the right amount of modern amenities. It served us great as both a home base for traveling the area as well as just sitting and doing nothing. Plus, the host Heidi, was AWESOME. It was mine and my wife's anniversary, and she was able to help me with planning a little extra surprise for my wife. This was on top of the the excellent communication and the helpful notes in the cabin. Basically, there is no reason why not to stay here for a nice get-away. The cabin is great, the grounds are scenic, and the host is more than helpful. The only negative is me having to write this glowing review when I'd rather keep the place to myself.

This second- story, custom built cabin in the middle of a cherry orchard has huge windows that allow for great natural light. Polished concrete countertops and floors with radiant heat. Sleeps 6. One bath. Shared hot tub. Large decks. Basic kitchen. Please read this listing completely.
Up north at its best! The Treehouse sits on a pond among the birch and pines in a working cherry orchard. Built by my husband and me, with a whole lot of help from many friends, it clearly has love in the details. Large windows bring the daylight in and allow for dreamy star- gazing - maybe even the northern lights! Six person outdoor hot tub is shared with the cabin also on property. Locally made art. Big garden. Access to trails for hiking, groomed cross- country ski trails, and mountain biking all around the orchard and ponds. Minutes to Lake Michigan and Torch Lake beaches. The cabin makes a great getaway for couples and families. There is a sleeping loft which can sleep four and a private bedroom which sleeps two. Limited kitchen has a smart oven, countertop two burner range, microwave, sink, coffee maker, electric frying pan and refrigerator. The Treehouse can be rented in conjunction with The Cabin at Rocky Top Farms. Towels and linens are provided. You must have four- wheel drive to access the Treehouse in the winter, or plan to hike the 1/4 mile from the barn. Please note! This is a cabin and not a traditional treehouse! We don't mean to mislead with the name- The Treehouse is what we have always called it. *Please read this listing entirely!
We adore our very rural neighborhood! Just a couple miles from both Torch Lake and Lake Michigan-beaches abound! Ask us about our favorite spots. Hiking and paddling opportunities are plentiful. We are not far from XC, downhill skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Rocky Top Farms is centrally located between Traverse City and Petoskey. We are located just off 31N. Our nearest towns are Elk Rapids, Bellaire, and Charlevoix, and East Jordan. The closest villages are Torch Lake, Ellsworth, and Central Lake. There are so many things to check out while visiting- or- just laze around the farm!
  • Wonderful private cabin surrounded by gorgeous cherry trees

  • This was our second stay in Heidi's amazing apple orchard. She was incredibly generous and helpful throughout our whole stay. Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location hosted by an amazing person. Thanks again Heidi!

  • We had a great time at Rocky Top Farms! The house exceeded our expectations - very cozy and clean - and the farm was beautiful in the snow. Heidi was very responsive and helpful which made the experience even better.

  • Everything was accurate with the description and our stay

  • We had a perfect quiet weekend! If you are looking for a peaceful retreat, this is it. The tree house was warm, bright, and just as described. My husband and I loved our morning walk, exploring the property as well as the cherry butter we are with our breakfast. A great place to unwind!

  • A very special place with such thoughtful, gracious hosts. You feel the care, love and creativeness as soon as you enter the treehouse. Serene and secluded, centrally located to everything northwest Michigan has to offer. The Orchards are breathtaking and the property vast for long walks and hikes. Perfect for dogs to explore and enjoy, ours will be dreaming of this place months after we left there.

  • Perfect place for a weekend getaway. Loved the personal touches by Heidi.. Thank you for everything.

  • Beautiful place with a great view!

Very clean. Simply and tastefully furnished. Plenty of natural light, wood flooring. One bedroom with queen-size bed. Sofa (not a pull-out) in the sitting room can provide extra sleep space. No kitchen, but space is furnished with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. Flat-screen TV. Cable and wifi access. Please note the Loft is above our detached garage and is accessed via two short flights of stairs.
Please visit the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce website for more information on the area.
  • Andrea was a great host. She met us upon arrival and walked us through the loft to explain where we can find the expected (e.g., towels) and unexpected (snacks and bottled water). She let us know she is available if we need her but was hands off otherwise. The loft was beautiful and felt totally private. The space is light, comfortable, and extremely clean and the heated floors are cozy. Petoskey is a great neighborhood and Andrea's loft is just blocks away from the "main street" like area which has many shops and restaurants. We spent most of our time at Nub's Nob which was convenient to the loft as well. I would not even consider another housing option before checking the availability of this loft first if/ when returning to the area.

  • Andrea's home is cozy, clean, well organized, and walking distance from downtown! Perfect for our family trip! Besides that, Andrea is a lovely host. I hope come back there again for the winter time!

  • This little cottage was great! The space was really clean and well kept. The neighborhood was quite and beautiful; just a 10 minute walk to downtown Petoskey. Andrea was extremely personable and flexible. We need to checkin later than expected and she was happy to make the adjustment. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to any couple or small family looking for a quite get away in the area.

  • Andrea was a great host as usual. The location is fantastic, the amenities and the price make this the perfect weekend getaway. Already ready to come back next summer.

  • This place is absolutely wonderful. So adorable, in a very nice neighborhood, just the right size, and beautiful on the inside. We had plenty of room - so much more than a hotel! The a/c works very well, the bathroom is much larger than I expected, and Andrea had everything in there that we could have possibly needed during our stay. We actually looked up more dates while we were still there to see if there were any more summer weekend openings (not surprised, it's booked), but we hope to be back someday soon. Overall, a very comfortable, very relaxing stay.

  • This loft was a great place to stay for the weekend, and Andrea was a great host. She showed us around the place when we arrived, and made us feel very welcome. This was a very relaxing place to spend some time, and I am looking forward to returning in the future!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Andrea's cozy loft. She was a great host and was super friendly. Her loft was well maintained, and close to downtown with many restaurants and bars to choose from. Being so close to the Bay made this experience even better. Next time we are in Petoskey we will surely look to stay here once again!

  • Andrea's loft was amazing! It was clean, bright and adorable. Andrea communicated clearly and with ease. We felt welcomed. We enjoyed our time in Petoskey and will definitely stay here again if we return! Thanks, Andrea!

  • The cottage was great! We walked to the beach each day. Plenty of room and was very clean. We loved the instructions on the wall in the frames. They gave us clear direction on the information needed. We would stay here again.

  • The cottage was spotless and very cozy. Excellent location within walking distance to the main street with many cute shops and restaurants. The host was very friendly and organized. Great find!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Justin's cottage. He has thought of everything for making a great stay! The cottage was spacious and so close to downtown. The kitchen is stocked with dishes and appliances. Justin provided a lot of information on nearby restaurants and shops, with brochures and several binders. There was a smart tv which was great for staying in due to cold weather. Justin was very accommodating for late check out. We would definitely stay here again!

  • The cottage was very cute and walking distance to the water. It had everything you could possible need - fully equipped kitchen, laundry, and a spacious bathroom. Justin was a wonderful host - he even offered to stock the fridge for us since it was over Xmas and nothing was open! Thanks again!

  • A nice place near downtown with plenty of room to relax.

  • Everything about this cottage was spot on. What a great place; just what we were looking for. The description online was accurate. Justin was a perfect host. The Charlevoix area and Lake Michigan are a treasure. The neighborhood was charming and so close to the lake; just a short walk. I just wish we could have stayed another night.

  • Justin was very responsive and had the place heated, lit and ready to go upon arrival.

  • Justin was extremely helpful and the cottage was adorable. I definitely recommend staying at their cottage.

  • Wonderful stay in the woods of Wisconsin. We loved Tara's cozy, comfortable, and all-around lovely home. Her pictures do not do it justice--the place is really special! The loft was perfect for sleeping-in.

  • Tara's cabin is awesome. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get away and relax.

  • My cousin and I visited this cabin in the winter for a meditation retreat. It was located in a rural part of Wisconsin, at the edge of a quiet and isolated neighborhood in the midst of a Northwoods forest. The surroundings were filled with huge trees and a very nice lake too. If you're from a city and looking for peace and quiet, you'll definitely get it here. However, it is also fairly close to restaurants and grocery stores as well, so you're not completely on your own. In addition, though the house is made almost entirely of wood, it is still fitted with modern amenities like an electric stove, washer/dryer, running water, and TV so you will not be roughing it completely. This can be a positive or negative depending on how isolated and off the grid you want to get! Recommended!

  • My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful time at Tara's gorgeous cabin in the north woods. The photos don't do her home justice --- it's stunningly beautiful, inside and out. The decor is lovely, the furniture is comfortable, and everything is spotlessly clean. The outdoor hot tub was spectacular, the hammock was marvelous, and the woods are so quiet and picturesque. I really can't say enough good things about our stay! We're going to come back the first chance we get!

  • Beautiful home, beautiful scenery, was a perfect getaway weekend!

  • Thank you Tara! Very zen place in the woods.

  • This was my second year staying here for my birthday weekend, I just love the place! So peaceful. I had 3 turkeys on the deck and saw multiple deer. The hot tub was lovely. Only bummer this visit was that the wood burner was out of commission. I'm sure I'll be back to this little slice of heaven.

  • If you are looking for a secluded log cabin nestled into the north wood on fawn lake, look no further! Tara's place has all you need for a relaxing getaway from the stresses of everyday life. Highly recommend!

  • This place is wonderful! Would definetly stay here again!!

  • Great place off the grid. Clean and secluded. A bit more work than your typical hotel or cabin but well worth it. Especially the wood fired sauna!

  • It was a nice cabin with a beautiful view. It was a nice way to celebrate our 20th anniversary.

  • Bruce and Karie have a lovely piece of property in the UP. It is fresh, exansive, and isolated - exactly what you want in a rustic cabin on the lake!

  • This place is an absolute slice of heaven. I must have taken over a hundred pictures of the sunrise. It is an unbelievable panoramic right off the foot of the bed, literally! The place was just as described, a little tough to find in the dark, but it was an unforgettable adventure we will never forget! We will be returning with our kids, we hope to make these UP trips a yearly family tradition. Getting away from the stress of home life and unplugging in such a majestic location was just what we needed. Lots of mt. biking and waterfalls to explore. I can't say enough about how amazing our trip was!! Bruce was a great host and readily available when needed. I want to tell everyone about this place, but as I read someone else say before... I also want to keep it a secret. Shhh!

  • What a relaxing place! Everything was just as described. The hosts were very communicative, providing us with good directions that allowed us to easily find the place, despite the remote location. The sauna was great and well-stocked with wood.

  • Jane was very quick to respond to emails and gave great ideas of what to do in the area along with travel tips. She was very thorough with instructions for the cottage and seemed very organized.

  • This house in Cheboygen was the perfect 2-day respite in the middle of a long business trip. The town is a bit sleepy in the off season—but I expected that. Just the same, there is still a full sized grocery store and over a half dozen restaurants which are open year round. Looks like there is lots to do during the summer if you are a fan of outdoor activities. The house itself was lovely with a fully outfitted kitchen. The host Jane is very responsive. Anytime I reached out to her, I would hear back within an hour. And the price could not be beat! Absolutely recommend this listing anytime you might be visiting northern Michigan.

  • My stay at Jane's cottage was great! Jane communicated well and her home was very clean and welcoming when we got there. The location was great for trips to the UP and Mackinaw Island.

  • We stayed here for two nights at the end of a camping trip in the UP and it was great. Cute little cottage, close to downtown Cheboygan. Was nice to watch the sunset in the backyard at night. Would stay here again!

  • Jane's house is a combination between country and modern style. Everything was very clean, well explained and handy. It's worth every penny you pay. I'm definitely going back sometime to enjoy the beautiful porch, kitchen and back yard. Congratulations!

  • The cottage was amazing! It was clean and so cute. Jane was very easy to get a hold of throughout our stay incase we had questions. The house was in easy walking distance of Cheboygan's downtown and a short car ride to their local beach. It was also and easy drive from Mackinaw City making this an ideal get away for our vacation. I absolutely loved staying here!

  • Jane was very responsive and helpful. The check in process was easy and convenient. The cottage is adorable and comfortable. We felt very at home there. It was apparent that she puts a lot of thought and energy into making sure guests have a fabulous stay-which we did. Walked over the foot bridge to the brewery in the evening and enjoyed time on the elevated patio there. Conveniently located for a trip to Mackinaw Island, we loved the privacy we enjoyed by staying here instead of a hotel and it afforded us the opportunity to grill and cook our meals which we thoroughly enjoy. I would highly recommend this property and we plan to visit again. Thank you Jane!!!

  • My wife and I wanted to visit Cheboygan for a couple of nights, so we just needed a place to rest and relax when we weren't out cross-country skiing or star gazing. Jane's place fit us perfectly. The bed was comfortable and the place was roomy (though we didn't need that). It was nice to walk in and have clear instructions written out of any questions we might have (how to adjust the heat, turn on lights, etc.). Also, Jane was very easily reachable by email or text if we had any questions. We walked do the downtown area which was only a few blocks away and drove to Cheboygan State Park in five minutes. As far as amenities go, it was very nice to have internet access available and it was also nice that Jane had left plenty of pens and paper for us to write down directions that we needed.

  • We stayed 4 nights at the cabin and loved it. Renting the cabin on 80 acres with it's own private lake was a privilege and many thanks to the owner for making it a possibility. The cabin is beautiful and generously furnished. Kayaks, canoes, and a paddle boat were a few of the other amenities that were provided for fun on the lake. If God is willing we plan to repeat the experience in 2013 if not before. Ron and Ethel

  • This cabin was stunning. I went up here with four of my friends for a getaway and we were all blown away by how beautiful the nature is up there. I had been to the U.P. several times before, but my friends hadn't and they were really amazed by it. Michelle and her property manager were so kind and helpful, and we were able to get a hold of them right away for anything we needed. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. This is in my top favorite trips I've ever taken.

  • The cabin was beautiful and relaxing. We were looking for a quiet spot to rest and this was perfect. We had a lot of fun fishing for Norther Pikes :) Thank you for sharing this treasure with us!

  • My family and I had a great time. Beautiful cabin and lake. Just the peace and quiet we were looking for.

  • Exactly as described.

  • Michelle, Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful cabin! It was even better than we imagined! The property was beautiful and we had a great time hiking the trails and finding the tree house! Our daughters enjoyed the lake almost everyday we were there. We had one day that it stormed and that was a perfect excuse to stay in snuggled on the couches reading and playing the games in the basement. None of our phones had service in the area and that was fine by us. We haven't completely unplugged as a family like that in a long time :) The location was perfect because we were only an hour away from almost anything. We went whitewater rafting in Iron Mountain and cliff jumping in Marquette. Thank you again! We are already thinking about coming again during a different season!

  • We had a wonderful time. This place was wonderful. The kids loved play on the sandy beach and taking the boats out in the lake. Our son became and expert Frog catcher. It was close (with in 50 minutes) to marquette which had all the modern conveniences and sights. Iron Mine in Iron mountain to the south was worth the drive too. Very quiet and peaceful. Our best vacation yet.

  • This cabin is absolutely beautiful. It is kept extremely clean and was accommodating to all of our needs. This is the perfect place for spending time with close friends and making memories. Thank you, Michelle!

  • The host canceled this reservation 13 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • Nothing would have made our stay better than it was. Hilary's cabin is so cozy and there are nice amenities that made it so nice and luxurious for a cabin (heated floors, amazing shower, nice blankets). Hilary is a great host. We loved it! Would highly recommend.

  • Love this place. Secluded but still close to town. Quiet and peaceful. Super clean!

  • We can't say enough great things about our stay at Wolf Track Den, from Hilary's response time and suggestions for local activities, to the cleanliness, comfort and seclusion of the cabin, and the easy access to so many outdoor activities, restaurants, shopping, etc.... We cannot wait to stay here again!

  • Lovely cozy cabin perfect for a small family! I admire Hilary's taste for furniture. I might visit again in the fall.

  • What an amazing weekend! We were welcomed with a sweet hand written note and the cabin couldn't be more comfortable, inviting, and cozy. We loved being away from town but close enough to easily access the art, shops, dining and brewery. Loved sitting on the deck in the sun, having a fire in the fire pit, and watching their great DVD selection on the couch when it got chilly outside.

  • We, like so many others, enjoyed our stay at Hilary's place. The location is easy to find and convenient to Grand Marais. The heated floor in the bathroom and the walk-in shower are fabulous. Hilary stocked items that I forgot to bring! Thank goodness she as a cupboard full of a variety of spices. We definitely will stay at Hilary's place again.

  • What a haven this little log cabin is! Cozy and homey, with the feel of the North Woods but a thoroughly modern bathroom. Everything was clean and neat, and very easy to drive to. Hilary was very good at responding when we had questions, and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. And her advice for things to do in town was spot on! We would come back again in a heartbeat! Thanks Hilary and Mark for sharing your rustic retreat with us :)

  • Lisa's place is actually better than the photos. It is huge! There was every possible option for breakfast including fresh milk and cream for coffee. What a pleasant place to stay.

  • Lisa welcomed us and answered all our travel questions. The Marquette area was beautiful and she had many maps and travel brochures to help us learn more about the area. The neighborhood is quiet and in an excellent location to easily get to the downtown area.

  • The rooms had everything we expected. It was very quiet and we really enjoyed the stay. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and beautiful. We can definetly recommend staying at Lisa´s house.

  • I really enjoyed my stay I Marquette! The living area, bedroom and bathroom were completely spotless and well stocked with clean towels, lots of amenities, coffee and such and maps. The house was super quiet and I liked that the guest quarters were separate from the rest of the house.

  • Highly recommend this great place! A warm, comfortable homey place with touches of luxuries here and there. Our hostess was very pleasant and easy to communicate with. The location is wonderful; halfway between beautiful downtown Marquette and the more suburban-like shopping areas. We'll definitely will stay here again in the future!

  • Great llave, highly recommend! Easy to find and very cozy :)

  • We would stay here again and we would recommend our family and friends staying here when they travel in Marquette.

  • This is such a great space--well priced, excellent, and private with the right amount of amenities available for quick trips and stayovers. Lisa is a lovely, hospitable host and a great communicator.

  • Monica and Morley have a beautiful home in a very beautiful area. It's a great place to be if you love peace, quiet, and nature. I felt very welcome and comfortable there. Their home was very clean and had a lot of really cool art and decorations. The Rushford's are great hosts- they are considerate, kind, and easy-going. We had a great time chatting and getting to know them during our short stay. My husband and I felt very relaxed here and wished that we would have stayed longer. We hope to return in the future!

  • Morley and Monica are such warm, welcoming people...I felt completely at ease with them . They are open, accepting and fun loving! I enjoyed our conversations and a lovely tandem kayak trip with Morley. My only regret is that I wish I could have stayed longer! I will definitely be back! I highly recommend staying with this lovely couple in their beautiful home! Beth

  • We had such a great time at this beautiful cabin! We loved chatting with Monica and her husband and had a great time relaxing by the beach on property. They are extremely hospitable and made us feel right at home. This was such a restful night and we would absolutely return.

  • Morley and Monica are the best! Their hospitality and beautiful accommodations went beyond our expectations. The site is just footsteps away from the lake and a quick drive to Pictured Rocks. I highly recommend this stay to anyone. As my first Airbnb experience, it was incredible. My favorite part of the experience was getting to meet Morely and Monica and hear about their adventures in this beautiful location!

  • Great place to stop for the night and nearby park has a nice walking trail. Spot is an air bed in the basement--true airbnb. Morley and Monica are very nice and happy to help and provide advice.

  • What great hosts! My boyfriend and I were running late on arriving (AND we forgot about the 1-hour time difference between WI and MI!) --- they stayed up 2 hours later than planned to await our arrival! The house was beautiful and clean, and the basement area where they host airbnb'ers is nice and quiet. A great place to visit! I wish we could have stayed longer.

  • Monica and Morley are wonderful hosts. They were very welcoming and friendly and immediately put us at ease. Their home is beautiful and we found the downstairs room to be quite spacious and comfortable. We were traveling with our 2 year old and were pleased with how child-friendly Monica and Morley are. They were able to provide some toys which kept our little one quite engaged. I highly recommend staying with Monica and Morley if you're planning a trip to the UP.

  • Communication leading up to my stay and during were fantastic! Monica and Morley were out of town for the night that I stayed but everything was set up for me and she sent me a wonderful note telling me to make myself at home and included very accurate instructions on how to find their home as well as recommendations for dinner (much appreciated!). I was lucky enough to catch them as I was packing up and they were arriving home. What a treat! They are a really special couple - I felt like I was seeing old friends! They are very kind and it is very apparent how much they love where they live. It is safe, quiet and peaceful. Be sure to take the trail out back tot their little piece of heaven on the Bay :) I am looking for an excuse to come back already!

Keep you vacation budget on track as you use our equipped kitchen to keep meal costs down. Plenty of room at the dining room table to play games, put a puzzle together and enjoy a meal. Mackinac Breeze is in walking distance to downtown St. Ignace and boat lines that will jet you across Lake Huron to historical Mackinac Island.
It is a quaint historical neighborhood. There are sidewalks for just strolling around this safe neighborhood. You are in walking distance to Lake Huron and a couple of lakeside parks. Just around the corner from the unit is I-75 N if you desire to explore more of the U.P as well as conveniently close to West US-2 for a 10 mile drive to Lake Michigan's beaches. Fudge shops, local restaurants for amazing whitefish, local merchants carrying gifts significant to the Upper Peninsula are all in walking distance.
  • Mackinac Breeze is really located well. Once we arrived the key for the home was in a Lock Box that worked well and we got right in. The home worked out for our visit. I had to ask a special request of Kim of which she granted. Kim also left us a lovely gift certificate in place providing a breakfast, which was nice because we could use it for anytime we wanted at the cafe. Overall a very nice experience we felt safe and slept well. It is a shared home so you will hear when the renter comes home due to the wood floors, nothing unusual. We did have trouble with the T.V. /Cable combo. When you go to turn it on, the snow screen comes with a very loud acoustic properties that will scare the living sole out of you! The T.V. needed to be upgraded ASAP! because even the remote controls could not help me in my moment. I had to run to the mother base to turn the sound down.

  • Kim's place was a great find for our family, close to everything in St. Ignace and space enough for kids. We could make our own meals, and she even had some games to play for when it was rainy. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Kim is a very friendly host and they have the house super clean and felt very cozy.

  • Great location and price —especially for the annual Pond Hockey Tournament. Also, Kim was very, very friendly and even got us a gift certificate to the nearby pizza place!

  • I was very satisfied with my experience. The house was very clean and welcoming. Couldn't have had a better first experience!!

  • Stayed three nights at Mackinac to. My husband and I appreciated the cleanliness, spaciousness and comfort. Great place to relax. We felt like we were home! Parking at the door. Only thing the hubby missed was a reading light in the bedroom. Easy walk down the hill to downtown and the water. Eat pizza at BC's and have fish tacos at the Gangplank. Thanks to Kim for the gift card--perfect for a couple of margaritas!

  • Our stay was fantastic! Kim welcomed us with a card on the dining table, very kind gesture from her. The house was the perfect size, very clean & stocked with all the basics. The location was perfect for us, we took day trips & it was wonderful to come back to our own space, spread out & relax. I would recommend Kim's home to anyone traveling in the Mackinaw area & would certainly stay there again.

  • Kim was very friendly, communicative, and kind. She left a nice gift coupon for a wonderful breakfast place. The Mackinac Breeze was very centrally located to the downtown area of St. Igance and within walking distance of a couple of ferrydocks for boats going to the Island.

A cozy stay above The Tribune Ice Cream and Eatery. One block from the marina and beach, breakfast, lunch, ice cream and snacks below, just around the corner from the happenings of Northport.
  • Wonderful place! We loved our stay. Someone even shoveled a path to our car in the morning after we got snow. House is very well stocked, although a larger pot in the kitchen would have been nice for cooking on multiple burners. The restaurant below is amazing! Exactly as the pictures depicted. Thank you so much!

  • Yes the listing is accurate. The place is beautiful. Its just lovely.

  • Great place. Great location. Very clean and comfortable.

  • What a perfect spot to get away to! Point 5 is top-notch, just as pictured. We enjoyed cooking, reading, and hanging out in this peaceful, artful space for a quick winter weekend. Northport is quiet this time of year, but Point 5 is a short drive to Suttons Bay, Leelenau State Park, Tandem Ciders and Leelenau Cheese. Fabulous breakfast and lunch were waiting just downstairs at The Tribune. Couldn't have been better!

    Sarah & Steve2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Point 5 was just perfect! The apartment is clean, cozy, and perfectly situated in downtown Northport. Megan made our arrival incredibly smooth and was responsive when we had questions. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom clean, and the shared living/sleeping areas were very well laid out. We loved staying here and definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Northport area. The Tribune restaurant downstairs was also an awesome place for brunch and ice cream!

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and Megan certainly made it easy! Point 5 was even more adorable in person than it looked in the photos. We were welcomed with a little note from the owner and fresh towels, linens, etc. The space was immaculate and comfortable. The location is fantastic and we loved eating at the Tribune in the mornings. The noise heard from the restaurant below during the day was very minimal. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Point 5 and can't wait to come back!

  • Megan's place was lovely, and is located in the heart of Northport. We recommend it highly.

Located walking distance from the "Foot" at Walloon Lake Village, this centennial family farm is surrounded by open fields and wildlife. Enjoy the fresh air and soak up the feeling of The Simple Life at this countryside getaway. My Grandfather raised seven children here and my Father raised four. And I offer those three rooms upstairs where we all grew up ! I don't care if I host one or four people and I could make an exception for five as well. I sleep in a room downstairs away from it all...
Welcome to the Farmhouse! My family has lived at this homestead for three generations, and I look forward to welcoming you here. If it's winter, you can enjoy the fields of snow and cross country ski out the back door. In spring, the woods are filled with wildflowers and mushrooms. For summertime, walk to the beach at spring-fed Walloon Lake and enjoy an ice-cream at the General Store. And in fall, you can hike local trails to experience the vibrant changing colors! At any season, you can stay right on the property to enjoy nature- simply sit by the pond and gardens or watch the snow fall out the window. There are puzzles and family board games to play inside on a rainy day or evening before bed.
Living in Northern Michigan is simple and relaxing. It's easy to engage with local arts, music, and great outdoor activities. Just in Walloon there are plenty of things to explore. -Watch the sunsets! -Visit Walloon Lake public beach and park with basketball, volleyball and playground. -Shop at Walloon Village General Store and other local stores -Dine at Barrel Back or the Walloon Lake Inn -Find a new Northern Michigan read at the local library -Enjoy a time of fellowship at the Walloon Lake Community Church -In winter, ice fish, cross-country ski, snowshoe, or snow mobile on the lake, or ice skate in the Village park -In summer, watch a family friendly movie outdoors at the village park. -Roller skate at the roller rink -Hike the path along the shoreline past summer cottages or use one of my Mt. Bikes for a ride around the area
  • We were warmly welcomed with Dawn's cheerful smile and a grand tour of her picturesque homestead, rich with historical depth and rich with eye-pleasing touches. We spent some private family time at the lovely and lazy trickling falls and lily-pad-laden pond in the side yard, all the while serenaded by the a local resident frog. The sleeping arrangements were comfortable and held every hospitable detail. Dawn had fresh vases of garden flowers all throughout the house. The aroma and sentiment were sweet and inviting!

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at the Jensen Farmhouse with Dawn. Dawn was thoughtful, accommodating, and proactive in helping us make our first trip away with our baby as easy as could be. The location is fantastic, secluded yet very close to Walloon Lake and local attractions.

  • Dawn is a great host, very good at communication. She is very friendly and considerate as well. The place is as described in the ad. We spent two days at her place and everything went well. Surrounded by trees, the location is peaceful and beautiful. It is located almost equal distance to Mackinaw and Traverse city, two good tourists spot. We would definitely recommend it others.

  • What a beautiful place to stay! Words cannot do this place justice. Dawn was an amazing hostess. She made our stay comfortable and was very accommodating. The home was clean just as described. The scones and coffee were delicious, and the conversation was entertaining. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Dawn was extremely gracious in receiving me on short notice. My husband had been transferred to Petoskey hospital by ambulance and I needed a place on short notice. I chose her house specifically because it was rural in its setting and an old farmhouse seemed like the perfect place to return after days in the hospital. What a treat to drive through glorious fall colors through rolling hills and gorgeous lake vistas. I'm very appreciative.

  • Dawn was warm and very welcoming. The beach is right down the road and when we realized that we forgot towels, she immediately offered hers. The farmhouse and the area is charming and Dawn shares the history with passion. Our room was cozy and she provided delicious coffee and scones in the morning. It was a serene atmosphere.

  • This was my 3rd time staying with Dawn. Her place has everything I need and is peaceful and beautiful.

  • Dawn and the accommodations were exactly as presented. The reviews I read prior to booking were 100% accurate.

One of a kind, full log, custom built home. A million dollar view of Lake Michigan.
The cabin is on a private dead end road. Very quiet.
  • Exciting, romantic, esthetic, and exquisite house. The view is stunning and inspiring. Very quite place with stunning and inspiring view. The master bed was soft and comfortable. The cedar chests give out unmistakable aroma of high quality wood. Kitchen is very well stocked.

  • I had a great stay here with my extended family. The house is huge, very clean and modern. All you need to bring is food, everything else is provided. The kids loved the pool tables, making s'mores around the fire pit and playing games in the loft. The adults really enjoyed the modern kitchen and view of the lake from the balcony.

  • Terry's log home IS truly beautiful, inside and out. Whether roaming the wooded landscape surrounding the property, strolling along the magnificent Lake Michigan shoreline, or enjoying a quiet evening by the fire, one is engulfed in comfort and beauty. The home is meticulously maintained, with any/all possible necessities provided. Terry himself is kind, gracious and informative, supplying many varied options for activities and dining pleasure. Would definitely stay again - am, in fact, planning a second adventure there for (I hope) next year!

  • This beautiful Log home is tucked away near charming Charlevoix. The spacious first floor and roomy, inviting loft area easily accommodated our extended family. The rustic cabin contains 3 well-appointed bathrooms and a well-stocked kitchen. Between the grand stove and the large outdoor grill, mealtimes were truly flavorful and satisfying. The days began with morning coffee and tea on the sunny front porch and ended with spectacular sunsets over the lake on the magnificent balcony! With hiking and beaches nearby, it is the perfect summer getaway spot, although the views and amenities make it a great place year-round. Terry is a friendly, welcoming host and we look forward to staying in his beautiful home in the future!

  • It was wonderful. Thanks Terry for being a great host- the cabin is truly beautiful, close to lots of great stuff, and comfortable for the whole family.

  • Terry's home was a perfect venue for our two-family, 13-person weekend away. The views of the lake, woods, Leelanau Peninsula and Fox Islands are expansive and stunning. The home is very well-appointed and was stocked with everything we needed, including all the ingredients for a great breakfast the morning after we arrived. This is an especially outstanding home for anyone who wants to view Michigan's fall colors, but I have to imagine that it is just as lovely in spring, summer and even winter. It is very private but is only a 10-minute drive away from the heart of Charlevoix.

  • Fantastic home, fantastic host. Everything about this place is beautiful and well thought through. The views of the lake are stunning. Terry even left us eggs, bacon, and a number of other breakfast items in the fridge. Five stars all the way around! We'll be back!

This is a quiet safe residential neighborhood
  • Very charming and quiet accommodation!

  • Five stars! Sue and Tom are great hosts and were very accommodating for our last minute stay. Marquette is beautiful and we had a great time walking around town and checking out the area. Blackrocks Brewery is an awesome gem with tasty beer and good vibes. Absolutely recommend staying with these friendly folks. Good location. Quiet neighborhood. Cozy space. Thumbs up.

  • Apartment is spacious, clean, and as advertised. It is well stocked with the things you would need. Being a basement apartment within Sue's home, you can hear the owners moving around upstairs and the entrance is shared.

  • Sue is wonderful! This was our first visit to the Marquette area and Sue (and her daughter) made the stay absolutely enjoyable. Thank you!!

  • Sue's place was a cosy spot to rest after a long day of driving, perfectly located on a side street nearby lots to do. Sue and her family were very helpful in giving us ideas on where we could go for dinner and drinks. Thanks Sue!

  • The place is lovely, Sue was so kind, the location is good, the price is good. I haven't got a negative word to say about our stay!

  • Sue was a wonderful host. Could not have asked for a better gateway to the city of Marquette or a warmer home. You and your family made our experience and we can't wait to come back!

  • We had an excellent stay with Sue and Tom. The basement apartment is very big and comfortable. Everything was wel organised and clean. The house is in a very nice and quit area of Marquette not far away from the lovely center. It is at Lake Superior.

  • The photos are very accurate of the space- if not more impressive in real life. We stayed for a week and really loved the house, the surrounding areas and the cute towns nearby. We were incredibly comfortable in the space, and took advantage of the hiking trails each day. Tim was a wonderful host, was very accommodating, and responded quickly.

  • Wow...what an amazing house!!! We were so impressed with all of the detail in the house from the awesome showers to the telescoping marshmallow forks! It was so comfortable and relaxing. We felt at home the moment we walked through the door. We enjoyed playing bocce ball and sitting by the fire pit at the end of the night. Definitely the best place to stay when visiting Door County! Our family had a great vacation.

  • This is the second time at Tim's place in Ellison Bay. We love it, summer and winter! Modern and rustic. Secluded and yet close-by! There are so many day-trip choices from this location and it's comfortable and unique enough to be it's own destination. Thanks again!

  • Tim’s place in Ellison Bay is absolutely beautiful…and if you appreciate contemporary architecture and modern design (we do) you will love it even more. This home really feels like a home, with so much thought put into the design and materials. It was a treat to stay there and many mornings we lingered over coffee until midday because the place was so comfortable (and beautiful). The floor to ceiling windows on the main floor bring the Door County woods indoors. So even inside when you are cooking, dining, or relaxing on the sectional, it almost feels like you are outside. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the amenities we needed for cooking and included high-end appliances. Although there were only two of us, the open kitchen, dining, and living areas could comfortably accommodate a larger group without feeling crowded. The lighting was lovely and included dimmers on most switches. The upstairs consisted of two generously sized master suites, each with uniquely designed en suite bathrooms. Both had comfortable beds, pillows, nice bedding, and their own AC units. We slept well every night. I could go on and on about how beautiful the place was. Suffice to say, the pictures online are great, but in person, the place is even better. We recommend it highly and especially to those who appreciate design and architecture. It’s located in a more quiet part of Door County, just outside the downtown area of Ellison Bay. We spent most days in multiple little towns like Fish Creek and Sister Bay, which were a relatively quick drive. It was always nice coming “home” though because of the beauty, peace, and sense that you were away from all the busyness and traffic. Tim was an excellent host and great to work with. He was immediately responsive before, during, and after our stay. And, he allowed us to bring our yellow lab who thoroughly enjoyed playing Frisbee in the woods out back each morning, then laying on the concrete floor inside to cool off. We’ll definitely return and are also keeping Tim’s name as we discussed possibly asking him to design a future home for us. Thanks again Tim!

  • Beautiful home and the firepit was great! Close drive to restaurants, the lake and sister bay. Tim was very responsive and a great host.

  • Beautiful spot for a great weekend! The property is gorgeous and stocked with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Our group loved the location - an easy home base to explore Door County.

  • Fabulous property! A beautiful modern home and very comfortable. Easy access to beaches, parks and coastal towns and super fun features--bocce court, bikes, kayaks, etc. Highly recommend a stay here!

  • We stayed at Tim's home in Ellison Bay for a family weekend. Tim was extremely responsive leading up to our stay. The house was beautifully designed and served as the perfect retreat. There are a number of boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants nearby, and Island Orchard Cider is worth a stop too. We would definitely like to stay again.

Very comfortable suite close to The Inn at Stonecliffe and Grand Hotel Woods restaurant. Great view of Lake Huron with a nice deck to enjoy the beautiful sunsets.
Great views, cooling breeze, very close proximity to dining, lake and golf.
Quiet, beautiful, unique and close to 2 restaurants, 2 bars, golf, hiking trails and the lake.
  • Patrick’s place was exactly as described. We really enjoyed the views The room was very clean and stocked with a coffee maker and mini fridge that came in very handy. It’s a little less than 2mi from downtown but it’s a quick ride on a bicycle. I really enjoyed my stay and would do it again.

  • This property is a in a wonderful location, but close to 2 miles from downtown and the ferry docks. As long as you are prepared to walk, ride your bike, or wait for a shuttle to get to and from town, this property is perfect. The views of the lake from the deck and around the property are amazing. There are plenty of walking paths/trails nearby, which was perfect for our dog, Sofía. Patrick was great with communication both before and during our trip. He had many suggestions and was great about checking in while we were there. We would definitely recommend this property, as well as Patrick as a host.

  • It was a clean, secluded condo away from the busy downtown.

  • Great view!

  • We had a great time during our stay on Mackinac island. Patrick's place was conveniently located with a nice view of the lake. If we go back to Mackinac while we live in Michigan we will book Patrick's place again.

  • Suzanne and I had a wonderful time in your home. Gracious host, everything provided. What a great view, loved the decoration. Most especially the picture of the bridge with not yet a road, just the span. How historical. So glad to know there is an Air B&B on Mackinac Island.

  • Patrick was an amazing and responsible host .The apartment was an unique place which make our stay on the island unforgettable !

  • A clean room in a secluded location of the island with an excellent view of Lake Huron. Fine dining within close walking distance. Patrick is an excellent host and the communication was top notch from start to finish!

  • Loved the apartment and was very close to everything we needed to get to. Was a very pleasant stay and we would definitely go back again!

  • Jeff's place is the perfect spot you are looking for on beaver island. Peace and serene view!! Jeff is a very helpful guy. Whenever i am back on island i will prefer his place always!!

  • This was a great stay for our family. The apartment is spacious and super clean. It's in a very convenient location, so that we could walk just a few minutes to eat or pick up bikes or kayaks. Jeff gave us a really thorough introduction to the island and was very responsive.

  • My family and I had a great first visit to the island. Jeffrey was very helpful with recommendations on what to see and places to eat during our short visit. He was so accommodating that he even offered to pick us up at the airport and allow us to use his car during our stay. We didn't take him up on his offer because we didn't want to take advantage, but the offer was very generous and much appreciated. We rented a car instead and explored the island. The apartment was spacious and clean and conveniently located in town. Thanks for helping make our family trip memorable!

  • Very neat and tidy place, the location cannot get any better than this, excellent host, was quick to help on a water heater malfunction. Daddy Franks right across the street, Shamrock and other pub are 100 feet away, beach is stone throw distance away......overall a very satisfying experience.....I got my car to the island but if you are coming to Jeff's place you can let your car rest in Charlevoix

  • We had a magical time on Beaver Island at Jeff's rental. Our lodgings were excellent: the apartment was spacious, well-appointed, and even nicer than the amazing pictures led us to believe. Jeff made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, down to details on hidden Island gems. He even personally escorted us on a customized nature hike. We highly recommend this lodging and host.

  • If you're looking for a home away from home -- this is it! We were welcomed into Sheri and Todd's place with open arms (and a bottle of wine)! This place is exactly as described....the cottage is beautiful and provides enough room for our adult family of 5 (plus a few visitors) to comfortably hang out between the dock, the living room, kitchen, upstairs, and the little nook in the basement. We absolutely loved our stay and spent most of the time sitting on the dock enjoying each other's company. The lake is beautiful -- I can't say I've ever been on a lake quite like this. We brought our kayaks and would regularly take "a lap" around the lake -- you quickly learn that it's a quaint little lake. We enjoyed the peacefulness and seclusion from typical hustle and bustle of a lake with public access. We planned all of our meals so that we wouldn't have to waste a single minute away from the cottage! The kitchen is fully equipped and had plenty of space for our adult family (of 5) to prep meals, make cocktails, loiter, etc. We really appreciated that the kitchen was fully stocked (plates, glasses, silverware, cookware, etc.)...otherwise we are used to eating off paper when we are "up north". We brought our bikes up and went on a little ride around the lake...this included riding on highway 182 for a mile or so, which was fine for us, but for those with little ones biking from the cottage might not be the easiest. Thanks again to Sheri and Todd for hosting our family get together! We all had a beyond amazing and stress-free week :)

  • This is truly a great place - gorgeous and clean cabin and a host that is easy to communicate with!

  • Sheri's cabin on Muskie Lake was absolutely beautiful. The contemporary touches mixed with Northwoods style made for a great retreat. The cabin was perfectly clean, well appointed, and was even more gorgeous than the pictures already suggested. My girlfriend and I had an amazing stay there, and would have easily accommodated more than just us. We had my sister and family over to enjoy the lake, so it was perfect for hosting small get togethers as well. Loved it!!

  • We just returned from a lovely stay! The house is really beautiful inside and the views of the lake are wonderful. We used the canoe and it was very peaceful as there are not many other people on the lake. We brought our stand up paddle boards and enjoyed paddling around on those as well. My husband and daughter fished from the pier and had quite a bit of luck at that. I was hoping for a really nice place to stay Up North that felt a little luxurious rather than rustic and this house fit the bill perfectly! We will definitely try to return next summer!

  • What an extraordinary retreat! The house was immaculate and everything was precisely as advertised (actually better, to be honest). Whether we were relaxing on the deck or sipping tea inside the house playing one of the fabulous board games on offer, the lake views were breathtaking. Sheri was very friendly and helpful all the way leading up to our visit and followed up afterwards. If you're looking for the perfect getaway in Northern WI, THIS is it!

  • My thanks for the wonderful stay at your cabin. The directions to get there were concise and easy to follow even in the waning winter light. It was like "coming home" as soon as I entered from the welcoming note and bottle of wine to the kitchen with all the utensils and necessities one could require to the logs stacked by the wood stove. I simply put away my personal belongings and lit a fire in the wood burning stove easily by following the instructions in your binder. I came to enjoy solitude with a beautiful view and a fire burning to keep me company. Although the temperature dipped to 20 below zero one night, the cabin was toasty warm from the fire with backup from the furnace overnight. I ventured to the edge of the lake to get some winter sunset pictures but mainly enjoyed my time without news or the world pushing in. Everything is as lovely as your pictures but can be even better appreciated when you actually arrive. I hope to visit again in a season which fosters exploration of the many attractions available in your area, many of which you kindly critique in your notebook. You have provided a beautiful place to stay with a wealth of information for visitors to refer to and explore. I didn't have time to even look at the movie and book selections! Couldn't have asked for anything more!

  • We have two boys (ages 6 and 8) who love to fish, swim, and explore, so each summer we rent a cabin on a lake to do just that. This cabin was perfect! On a small private lake with its own dock. My 8 year old was on it non-stop. The family of turtles visited us each morning and night We launched our boat and explored the lake for the first few days then explored the massive Turtle Flambeau Flowage the rest. The launch for the Flowage is only 10 minutes from the cabin. Sherri was great with answering our questions before the trip so we knew exactly what we needed to bring with us, which wasn't much because Sherri has thought of everything guests would need. There was plenty of wood for a camp fire each night, grilling tools and charcoal, everything you would need to cook a meal in the kitchen, as well as games and movies for rainy days (which unfortunately we had a lot of). All we needed to bring was some food, clothes, and our fishing gear. The cabin is beautiful with great decor. My boys loved that they had their own space in the loft and that they didn't have to share a room. Sheri even provides a binder with insight on local eateries and attractions which was very helpful when we did decide to venture outside the cabin. We visited the wooden logging dam and the Smith Rapids covered bridge which were both close to the cabin. We loved our time in the Northwoods! Thank you Todd and Sherri for sharing your beautiful home away from home.

  • It's exactly as described: a wonderful, quiet, comfortable cabin with a perfect lake view. It's a perfect place to go and explore the area too, there's a helpful binder full of helpful recommendations!

The timber frame cabin is located in Hovland MN, which is 30 minutes north of Grand Marais, near the Canadian border and lake Superior. The timber frame cabin was built only a few years ago. The property also boasts a fantastic new cedar sauna, a firewood shed and a 90' X 90' x 8' foot high fence for pets to run free. The cabin sleeps up to 3 in beds (1 double bed & 1 sleeping cot) and many more on floor and/or outside in the screened in porch. We accept up to 6 guests at a time. Camping is also an option with the wide space. Please email for details. Folks will need to bring: - Sleeping bags/blankets/pillows for beds - Drinking water. • The Mokki was a wonderful retreat in the middle of the North Woods. We loved the immersion among the trees, complete silence, various outdoor areas, and listening to the local radio station. The sauna was a beautiful added bonus - what a treat! We would love to come back and experience the Mokki in all four seasons. Thank you for a lovely and unique experience!

  • We wanted a place to get away from it all and this was definitely a great experience! We were able to relax, do some hiking and weren't far from Grand Marais and Grand Portage when contact with civilization was needed.

  • Lonnie's place, "Mokki", was exactly what we were looking for! A quiet, relaxing weekend up north to rejuvenate and spend quality time together. We did have a slight issue with a light upon arrival, but easily contacted the manager who had it fixed the next day. We experienced a very helpful host and manager who pridefully take care of the cabin! We'll be back for more!

  • What a great place to get away and relax! We got to experience the first snow storm at the cabin. The big windows really do bring the outside in, what a treat to watch the storm by the cozy fire! We'll be back for sure!

  • Beautiful place. Our own little spa retreat. Enjoyed using the sauna on and off all day. Late October was a perfect time to go to this wonderful place, no bugs, the weather was drizzly but decently warm. The wood stove kept inside nice and cozy. I would recommend bringing a full size sheet for the bunk mattress, as we had slippery sleeping bags that made for noisy sleep. There was a cutting board and wine opener which came in handy. We had to chop our own wood which was OK, except the ax was a little dull and wood was running a little low. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend Mokki for a nice retreat. Plan on returning! (maybe in the nice white winter).

  • Very cool cabin in the woods with full wrap around glass windows.

  • Outstanding, peacefully secluded location. Design of the cabin with the large windows, brought the north woods in. Sauna was a sweating delight. An off the grid treasure not to missed.

    Adrian 2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place! My Husband and I spent 5 days and part of our honeymoon at the Mokki hut! I was a little skeptical at first considering there is no running water or electricity. But it surpassed our expectations! Very secluded - I do not think we saw one car drive by! We made sure to get there before dark to gather any fire wood we wanted for the awesome fire pit! You'll definitely want to bring a bunch of newspapers or kindling to get your fires started. We had to get up about 2 times a night to keep the fire going inside. The outhouse is about 25 steps away from the hut, and the sauna about 150 steps. You'll get to shower in the sauna by dumping water over your head. There is a cast iron skillet and a few pots. There is some salt and pepper, and a few leftover ketchup and mustard packets. One thing they did not have was a tongs. The bed was actually very comfortable. There are 2 memory foam mattresses on a wood slab. We put about 4 blankets down underneath us, and another 4 on top of us including a sheet. We usually ended up with the top blanket on the ground because it stayed nice and warm in the hut. The gas lights and gas stove top was easy to use and there are directions inside the cabin. Don't forget to stop by the Chicago Bay Marketplace in Hovland. We got some amazing cinnamon swirl bread that we made french toast out of, and a super tasty pizza made on whole wheat crust! Minimal groceries available there, bread, milk, eggs, maybe some lettuce if your lucky. Stock up on Grand Marais! We will definitely be back!!

Located on 40 beautiful wooded acres in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the Lundgren Tree Farm was founded by my grandfather Vic Lundgren in the early 1960s. Originally it was an 1880s homestead farm with a two bedroom log cabin and several out buildings. Over the years, my grandfather planted tens of thousands of trees on the property, painted hundreds of water colors and oil paintings documenting the natural flora and fauna , and converted a barn and other structures into additional bedrooms, art studios and a billiards room (the silver dollar pool room). As an eccentric lawyer, judge, artist and nature lover, he filled the property with art, books, sculpture and a whimsical, magical air that makes Lundgren Farm an incredibly beautiful, special place. Just blocks from lake Michigan, this tree farm is a refuge for animals and artists alike, with trails, a fire pit, and rich solitude from city living. It is great as an artist retreat, to host a wedding or reunion, or to just escape and find tranquility. The log cabin farmhouse hosts two bedrooms, the kitchen, dining area, living room and full bath. It is filled with art and books and antiques, including a functional cast iron fireplace. The barn is not your ordinary structure, as it holds five seperate rooms - two bedrooms, an art studio, the office and the meditation room. The open common area is rustic and contains a small workshop. The "Chicken Coupe" is a recently remodeled one bedroom cabin behind the farmhouse, with a full bath (and one of the nicer sleeping quarters). All of the bedrooms have nice linens, wool blankets and antique furnishings. The screened gazebo next to the pond, is a wonderful place to read, eat or just sit back and listen to the frogs, birds and other wildlife that frequent the property.
  • We took a couples weekend to the Lundgren farm. It was a brisk fall weekend and perfect for tromping around thru the woods. We loved all the rustic touches everywhere. No one stayed in the barn, but every other building was used. We especially liked the silver dollar saloon. The boys were lumberjacks and built fires, we played games both outdoor in the clearing and inside in the living room. We took a moonlit walk thru the woods, and found some mushrooms before we left. Based on the pond's location to the house - we made a wonderful decision to visit after mosquito season. Oh and we saw wild turkeys moseying thru the property. Sadly down town Menomonee wasn't as exciting as we had hoped, but that's was really the only disappointment.

  • The Tree Farm was so much fun. My family and I really enjoyed the eclectic Walden-esque atmosphere. We dug through old records, watched deer and birds from the window, and played pool in the Silverdollar room. Greg was a gracious and communicative host. 5 stars for sure! My family and I raved about it to the rest of our mid-west relatives and are scheming up a return!

  • Eight of us spent a pair of peaceful evenings around the campfire on the Lundgren Family Farm. Every room is full of curiosities and the magical touch of Vic Lundgren. This is the perfect place for a group looking for a semi-rustic, private, and historical environment. A billiards room, badminton, books on the arts, history, natural life, and philosophy, bicycles, small rowboat for the pond, and even an organ piano are available for recreation. The environment allows for life to float along at a slow pace, excellent location for an artist retreat or family reunion. There is plenty of space for pitching tents, etc. We recommend spending a day at the Seagull Bar State Natural Area just 15 minutes from the property, quiet private beaches await! There is also the Escabana State Forest Area to the north, we did not get to explore this region, but will surly visit next time. Thanks to the neighbors who caretake the property, we did our best to leave no trace and follow instructions. They keep the property very well preserved. We enjoyed the friendly instructional signs and how well folded and organized all the rooms and accessories were. This is a secluded wooded area, with any natural area expect critters, there are mosquitoes, mice, bees, ants, spiders and a few other friends. Do not let this deter you from staying, the charm and tidiness of the place is superb. Thanks to Greg Lundgren, he was easy to communicate with via email and phone, he went above and beyond in accommodating our stay.

  • The Lundgren Tree Farm offers a one of a kind experience in the UP. The cabin, outbuildings and grounds are great to explore. we spent most of our time chatting in the gazabo, away from the spring skeeters, and watching the wildlife. Highlights included a great blue heron, deer, and hummingbirds. We also thoroughly enjoyed the record player and vast library of books on about any subject. A great unique getaway

  • The Lundgren Farm was even better than we had hoped for. It's the perfect place to disappear for a couple of days. There is lots of space and the layout is great. Will be booking again next year.

  • 10 of us and a dog came up to the Lundgren Farm from Chicago for a long weekend over the Fourth of July. To say that our weekend was full of endless enjoyment is possibly an understatement. The farm itself is beyond charming, full of quirky things to delight, an extensive record and book collection, and comfortably simple furnishings. Bug spray was a constant companion, but we spent the majority of our time outside--grilling, playing games, drinking, building campfires, etc. The farm was so great that we rarely left, but: There are a few really great beaches nearby, we particularly loved Bailey Park's very secluded beach (complete with a picnic table in the water) and Wells Park, which was more family-friendly. Both are 20 and 10 miles north on the coastal highway. We went on a tubing trip down the Peshtigo river near Crivitz, too, the campground will rent you tubes and drop you off--very fun! No internet or TV, which made a few of the very connected in our group grumble, and hang out in the McDonald's parking lot to get some wifi (for shame!), but overall, I think it really allowed us to all be less preoccupied and 'connect' with each other. Check out our pictures on Instagram #Farm4th and you'll find a few of our blogs that way, too! A big thank you to the Lundgren family for sharing their gem of a farm with us. It was such a treat. The toddler among us cried when we left, wishing to go back to his vacation (and I almost did, too :)

  • This place is truly special! Went with a group of friends an our kids for my wife's birthday. The kids had a blast exploring in the woods, making smores by the fire and getting out on the pond in the rowboat. The farmhouse is a very cozy place to gather with friends, cook homemade meals, listen to records and browse the many books (including binders full of watercolors created right there on the farm).

  • What a wonderful place! Staying at the tree farm was like going back in time to my grandparent's farm. My entire family loved staying there and enjoying the pool table, organ, old records as well as the artwork.

Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart!
Along with the house of the owner, this is the only cabin on this property. Guests have access to the sauna on the lake and the shower in the house in order to bathe. The cabin which has only cold water includes a kitchen (with a refrigerator, convection oven, microwave oven, griddle, coffee and hot pot) as well as a toilet.
  • Keith & Julie are awesome hosts! Very friendly and accommodating. We chose to stay with Keith & Julie for many reasons; lake front, sauna, central location between many activities we had planned.... the added bonus was getting to meet Keith & Julie and share stories about our adventures. They are a very active couple and very knowledgeable about the area. Keith gave us several tips on the Keweenaw Peninsula which helped us make the most of our time. The cabin is exactly how it was described. Very cute and quiet. Perfect location and experience. The sauna was exactly what we needed after a long day of hiking in the Porcupine Mountains. Keith had it all ready for us each evening. We can't wait to plan our next stay with Keith & Julie :)

  • We loved our weekend away with Julie and Keith! Their knowledge about the area and their willingness to explore with us was an amazing perk. Not to mention the beautiful views, late night saunas, and breakfast over the campfire. We found the bed quite comfortable and were so busy we didn't spend much time in the cabin. We highly recommend this rustic cabin if you're ready to "decompress".

  • This place has a really great wood sauna, and a wonderful view of the lake. We enjoyed swimming, a fire and a couple great saunas. I would recommend it for anyone looking for lake life trips out on the UP. Keith and Julie love to talk, and will be able to help you figure out where you should go (it was our first time to the UP).

  • I look forward to staying with Keith and Julie over the next 4 years as my daughter goes to Michigan Tech. Their kind and generous hospitality is amazing. And the sauna right on the lake is such a treat!

  • Great place to stay! There is a cab service that comes out there. Also great location for day trips so much to do! They are very knowledgeable about the area.

  • Very clean, comfy and welcoming. Convenient to many area attractions and MTU (which we stayed for our daughter's graduation). Beautiful sunrises over the lake. Hoping to return when the weather is much nicer and we have time to visit and explore more.

  • This was our first AirBnB experience. Keith and his wife were great hosts. Their cabin was as expected and offerred us just what we were looking for. They were very warm and welcoming. We were treated to probably one of the most beautiful sunrises and spectacular star gazing opportunities to have ever been experienced.

  • We had an awesome time at Keith's little cabin in the back of his house. We met the whole family and felt very welcomed. Everyone was very nice to us and we had some good talks about traveling and the area around. The cabin was rustic and it was kind of a little tie travel, but that was exactly what we were looking for. Keith turned on the wood fired sauna for us, so we could relax after a long day of traveling. Thank you Keith.

Nestled in 100 acres of mature hardwoods, you'll find our condo with cabin flair your best night's rest ever. 3 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, field stone fireplace, indoor pool, outdoor pool, private beach, hiking trails. Close to ski slopes.
Our space is designed to do a couple of things: 1) bring family closer together if you're with loved ones, or 2) if you're soloing or with a partner bring deep rest and recovery from life's stresses. We have a big TV in the living room for TV lovers. Otherwise, you won't find electronics much at all. We believe a getaway should also include escape from electronics "technology pollution." We have lots of games and pool toys, but the best part about our space is how you feel like you're in a tent camping in the middle of the woods, but you're not! You'll enjoy super comfy furniture, king log bed in the master bedroom and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen for foodies. "Camp" in style, only at the The Lodge At The Lake. PS, our decor is inspired by native American indian heritage which means you'll find lots of canoes, paddles and pine cones scattered throughout the space. We aim to bring nature indoors. Our break even cost is slightly less than two nights. Therefore we have a three night minimum stay. Thank you for your understanding.
The resort is nestled in and among acres and acres of pine trees, cedar forests and bubbling streams. It's a nature lovers paradise!!! Fresh air, loud silence that makes your ears buzz for awhile as you "detox" from noise pollution - will leave you feeling rested and rejuvenated like you've never felt before.
  • It was such a great place to stay! It was bigger than we expected and the perfect relaxing get-away! Linda was extremely sweet and accommodating! I highly recommend her and her place!

  • We absolutely loved the place! Conveniently located, we stayed here for a long weekend with family. The place felt warm, very well equipped, and the host was just awesome! We enjoyed going to the pool with the kids (9 months and 2.5 yo). We had the pool for ourselves since it is low season. We are already thinking of booking again for another weekend getaway!

  • I have Stayed at Linda's place twice now and I always feel at home. It's cosy, clean and Roomy with great ambiance and energy.

  • Linda is a great host. She is very helpful. Her place was very nice and had a great north up woods feel to the inside and outside of the condo.

  • I rented the condo for my parents as a weekend getaway. They loved it! They said it was very clean and cozy, and they liked the close access to the state park beach! They are already planning another weekend there this fall!

  • Always feels at home

  • Beautiful condo in a beautiful setting! Easy access to hiking, the beach and great dining in harbor springs and Petosky. Condo is beautifully decorated. Great kitchen. Owner very responsive and helpful!

  • The Lodge on the Lake is the perfect up north getaway. My family and I loved every minute of our trip. The house itself is beautiful and spacious and so close to the beach. We really enjoyed walking the trails and also the indoor pool and hot tub. If you are looking for a Northern Michigan getaway, this is it! Better than a hotel!

Near downtown (2.5 miles), but has the rural country feel with forests, brook trout stream, extensive wetland complex, and valley with rolling hills out back.
VERY safe, family-friendly, quiet neighborhood at the end of a private drive. Suburbia out front, Northern Michigan wildlands out back.
  • We arrived 30 mins past check in they were very understanding. Their dog Luna (Golden Retriever) was very calm and sweet. Their home was nice and very accomidating. They gave us a nice parting gift homemade banana nut bread.

  • Very easy to find place. Quite nice, too! Fantastic view. Instructions were very clear. Clean property. Nice houseplants! Highly recommended!

  • Kevin and Annette made us feel welcome during our stay. We enjoyed having a pleasant conversation with them. We admired their hospitality and openness about their adventures and zest for life.

  • Kevin did a great job of making us feel welcome. We arrived later than anticipated and still felt very comfortable pulling into the neighborhood. The room is very nice with a large modern bathroom adjacent the hall. I would highly recommend you stay with Kevin and his wonderful wife if you're looking to stay in Petoskey for the weekend, or are just passing through like I was. Great price and great company!

  • I felt part of the household immediately. They were kind and made be feel comfortable amd welcome. The setting was peaceful and the view off the deck was amazing.

  • We had a great stay! The room was clean and their home is in a very quiet neighborhood. Kevin was very nice and gave us good advice on places to visit while we were in Petoskey.

  • Kevin was a great host! Me and my mom stayed with him and Annette on our way to the UP and had such a great experience that we stopped back through for another night! I loved their home, their organic way of life and our conversations. Highly recommend staying a night and more with them!

Beautiful setting on Munising Bay with stunning views of Grand Island and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! Amazing privacy for being within city limits only 2 miles from downtown. Walking distance to many activities and adjacent to snowmobile trails. Truly an awesome spot.
Bi-level 4 bedroom home with walkout to lawn and patio at lake level. Beautiful views of Lake Superior from the east side of the house makes for great sunrises. Thick cedar forest provides unreal seclusion and privacy even though this property is within the city limit. The lake is cold but can be entered from our yard. There are sandy beaches nearby.
There are so many cool things in Munising it is hard to list them all but one of our personal favorites is the Falling Rock Cafe right downtown with free, live, (often local) musicians every Saturday evening in the winter and 3 nights per week in the summer. Great fun! Check the Cafe website for details. There are pontoon, kayak, canoe, and bicycle rentals (one can bike around Grand Island) plus snowmobile and 4 wheeler groomed trails and rentals. Pictured Rocks Cruise Ships; Riptide Ride; Glass Bottom Boat Tours; golf; workout facilities; hiking; fishing; ice fishing; snowshoeing; ice skating; unbelievable ice formations to climb; groomed cross country ski trails; downhill skiing in Marquette; casino; beautiful waterfalls.
  • This home is outstanding and the host was too. Check-in was easy and communication immediate. The house itself is immaculate and amenities (e.g., tissue, toilet paper, paper towel, kitchen supplies) made it easy to come for a weekend without having to worry about shopping. The furnishing is comfortable and the house is well laid out. There were only 4 of us, but we could see, with the layout of the house, that it could accommodate quite a crowd. Thanks for a lovely stay. I think we'll be back!

  • The home was incredible - the pictures do not do it justice. Right on Lake Superior with views of Grand Island. Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher, plates, cooking ware... everything you need. Town was less than 5 minute drive, and David was very quick to respond and very helpful. We recommend the Riptide Ride (only 2 minutes from the house) if you're looking for a more adventurous way to see the Rocks. Also definitely check out Chapel Loop hike, on the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! To die for!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend and absolutely loved it! We had everything we needed and the view of Lake Superior is incredible. The sun rising over the water was especially beautiful. Our hosts were very accommodating and friendly. We had no issues what so ever; and would definitely recommend!! 10/10

  • David's home was great and accommodated me and my friends very comfortably. The view of the lake from the 2 main living spaces and the master bedroom were spectacular. The location was extremely convenient and close to town, but also within an hour of all the attractions we planned to see. David was extremely helpful and communicative and was very accommodating to our arrival and departure times. If and when I return to Munising, I would definitely stay at David's home again, if possible.

  • Amazing home with amazing hosts - would definitely recommend!

  • Pictures do not do this home justice. The view of the lake is superb. Lots of space available to unwind and relax both inside and out. David is also a great host and offered to go out of his way to make our stay comfortable. It was meticulously clean with no surprises. Beds were comfortable, kitchen perfectly functional (and a good coffee maker helps!), and the deck, living room(s) and dining area all exceeded my expectations. The house was just outside of town so you could quickly grab groceries or dinner if you needed to while still being private, quiet and secluded. The place is a treasure and I would like to visit again sometime.

  • Communication with David went very smoothly. He contacted us before our stay to make sure that our arrival would be easy. When we contacted him with a couple of questions, he responded right away and was very helpful. The house was actually even better than it looked in the listing. The kitchen was great – there were condiments in the fridge and it was well stocked. The location could not have been better. The view from the house of Lake Superior was stunning. It was a very comfortable, wonderful getaway.

  • Lake front view is gorgeous, BBQ grill on the deck and the fire pit really made our stay wonderful, and many unexpected welcome gift in the kitchen! David is very responsive, I would recommend this house.

  • This place is absolutely amazing, and Karyn is a wonderful host. If you're looking for a luxurious getaway in a pristine natural setting, this is your spot. The pictures can't begin to capture the never-ending beauty this place offers, both inside and right outside the door. Wake up and go for a walk along the shore of Lake Superior. Curl up at night with a good book in front of the fireplace. Explore the nearby hiking trails and beaches. I'm already plotting my return!

  • Girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay. Very nice location for a relaxing get away. They were very hospitable and nice. Would definitely go again

  • A very quiet retreat with access to Lake Superior. The house is comfortable and easy to live in. We spent a week there and cooked most of our meals at the house. Lovely sunsets and good star gazing on clear nights. Friendly hosts who are both helpful and give you space. We would go back. There were bugs typical for the UP in June, but there were definitely clear times to enjoy the beach.

  • The cabin is even more wonderful in person. We were shocked at our fortune. The little touches, though, won us over. As soon as we walked in, we saw a scrabble board set up for us with a kind note. The tile floor was already heated beneath our feet. Lake Superior waves were crashing outside the door. Our tire tracks were the only ones around for a mile. Just wonderful.

  • Such a great place to vacation at! Karyn and Brad were so nice and welcoming! The place was absolutely beautiful. We loved it there and can't wait to go back!

  • I thought the listing was very accurate. This place is really beautiful. I cannot say anything negative. There are some really good places to go out to eat if you are willing to drive for awhile. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

  • Highly recommend, host gave us our privacy which was appreciated. Awesome views of Lake Superior. If you want unplugged and seclusion this is the spot. Home is absolutely awesome, don't see anyway to improve upon perfection.
