Our property is 12 Ha with a 2 Ha vineyard comprising Shiraz & Riesling. It is approximately 1.25 hours from Adelaide airport and within 45mins to 2 hrs from 6 of the major wine areas of South Australia, & many popular tourist destinations. Mount Pleasant (4.5Km) has 2 hotels, 2 bakeries, chemist, medical centre, hospital, butcher, fuel, convenience store, golf course & bowling club.
We provide a comfortable, clean and bright double room and are happy to share the kitchen, living and outdoor spaces. If needed we have a cot for a small child and, could squeeze in an extra young child or two on spare mattresses if requested and organised ahead of time. We provide complimentary, tea and coffee, and a continental breakfast. Guests are welcome to some space in the fridge and we also have room in the freezer if needed. Guests are also welcome to use the barbeque. All bed linen and towels are provided. We would like people to feel comfortable and 'at home' whilst staying with us.
Mount Pleasant is at the top of the River Torrens catchment. It is known as 'big tree" country and many of the trees in the are are hundreds of years old, including some on our property. We are situated between the Adelaide Hills and Barossa wine regions and right next door to Eden Valley. Mount Pleasant has a very active community and some of the community inspired projects include the local produce market(Sat am), a "Recreate Program" (recycling, upcycling and re-purposing) with shop front outlet, an active Men's shed and a number of sporting venues(golf, tennis, bowling). There are cellar doors as near as Springton, Mount Torrens, and Gumeracha. At Gumeracha you sill find the "Big Rocking Horse"which sells specialty wooden toys and is attached to a small wildlife park where you can see kangaroos. Mount Pleasant is only 30 minutes from Mannum on the River Murray which has a variety of dining venues and opportunities for hiring canoes or houseboats.

  • Absolutely love the stunning well maintained private garden. Despite the low rainfall of the area, big variety of the blossom roses and the matured fragrant plants were a huge surprising bonus indeed! The very safe, quiet and tranquility of the surrounding environment is the best place to sleep in and escape from the city's daily busy lifestyle! The super warmth, helpful and friendly personality of the host do make the stay easy and comfortable!!

Meander Retreat is a small rural property near Eden Valley in the Barossa region, amid vineyards and open pastures. Your studio is equipped for comfort and there are both sunny and shady places around the property in the olive grove, gardens or mixed orchard to write, paint or just daydream. Meander will make you meander, change your plans, sleep long and sweet, and just untangle. The kitchen will be stocked for a great breakfast (with vege/vegans happily catered for).
The spacious and sunny guest studio has a king bed, single sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen and palatial bathroom. There is car parking directly alongside the studio so you have easy access to the private entrance (where you can arrive at any hour and let yourself in via a passcode). The studio has natural cross-ventilation and a ceiling fan, but also has RC air-conditioning for year round comfort. Artists and writers will find this the perfect spot for their creativity and those feeling less inspired can binge on books or Netflix. Leisure and pleasure are the goals here. You will have premium local produce to make your own sumptuous breakfast and the kitchen gardens, orchard and chicken house are self-serve if you wish to cook other meals.
The Eden Valley is the higher altitude section of the Barossa Region, which produces world class cool climate wines, but it is also a peaceful and less populated area, so it is perfect for just relaxing and unwinding. There are vineyards and a few cellar doors nearby but there are many more 20 minutes away down in the valley itself. Springton is 2 kms away and has a general store and a pub. Nearest supermarkets are 20 mins away.
  • We had a brilliant one night getaway at Evelyns place. The unit is exceptionally clean, well furnished and comfortable. We stayed on a mid-30s day and the aircon was nice and cool. Views and surroundings are fantastic.

  • A home away from home! Such a perfect little cottage for a getaway. Julie’s prompt communication, generously stocked kitchen and overall 5-star hospitality was lovely. Definitely lives up to her Airbnb Superhost status!

    Eleni2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Julie for your hospitality and to have answered promptly our queries. A restful time for us in a quaint charming cottage and discovering the area. We were really touched by the array of little goodies to nibble and herbs from the gardens (which are really lovely)

    Francoise2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best stocked Airbnb kitchens I’ve stayed in. Many thoughtful touches by Julie that made it super effortless stay. Very central to Birdwood town. Lovely and quiet. There is no wifi, which I would have liked but in town you can get free wifi so I did that. Very cute place and lovely bath wash etc. Was great to be able to park the car off the street too. I was attending a wedding in the area and it was the perfect place to stay. Thanks Julie. Highly recommend.

    Deborah2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tesses Retreat is now among our most favorite Airbnb stays ever. Julie is exceptionally communicative, caring about the comfort of her guests above and beyond. The home itself is super cosy and well-stocked with not only essentials, but so much more. We’ll be sure to return as soon as we can.

The self contained accommodation has the standard symmetrical cottage layout, with 4 main rooms, two either side of the central hallway. The bathroom including powder room overlooking the garden are additional spaces. The king bed can be separated into 2 king singles if required and a trundle bed is also available.

  • This was a great base for a weekend exploring the Barossa. Very cute cottage and a short walk to the local for dinner. Thanks Ingrid for a lovely weekend!

  • location - perfect. We cooked the breakfast supplied on the BBQ and it was... perfect. Erika's place is in the middle of blissful serenity. Close enough to the big towns for wine tasking. Close enough to the local pub to be away from it all. All the thoughtful details are catered for. Clean, comfy... perfect. Close to coffee, food and wine. My recommendation is a trip to the markets or a local supermarket, local cheese, local wine and enjoy an early night in

A cosy orchard cottage circa 1890 with a rustic vibe, surrounded by the Adelaide Hills' finest wineries. Sitting high on 16 acres with an apple orchard, it is one of the original homes of the area and enjoys stunning views of hills. Relax in the gorgeous outdoor clawfoot bath looking out to the hills. Enjoy a glass of red by the fire or cook up a storm in the vintage wood-fired Aga.
Follow us on Instagram: @ode_totheorchard Ode to the Orchard is completely private up on the hill, with only distant neighbours in sight. Two cosy bedrooms with queen beds, bathroom with shower over newly refurbished bath, lounge with wood fire (wood and firelighters provided), 2 leather lounges and armchair, full kitchen with new stove and coffee machine (pods provided) and wood-fired Aga oven. The separate dining room has seating for 6. The laundry room has washer and dryer (washing powder provided), iron and ironing board. The orchard is a short walk from the house and all yours to explore. You will drive past it on your way in, it’s a short walk from the house. There are front and back porches to enjoy sunrise and sunset over the gorgeous Adelaide Hills area. We have a lovely claw-foot bath (under cover) looking out to the view where you can enjoy the blue sky by day or the stars at night - magical! Cooking in the vintage wood-fired Aga is a beautiful and unique country experience and we highly recommend - it keeps the house extra toasty! We have a recipe for apple crumble waiting for you (Aga instructions provided in the Welcome book) The house is very cosy in winter - the bedrooms have electric blankets and heaters and the lounge has the wonderful wood fire. In summer the house stays cool, especially with bedroom blinds drawn, but we have pedastool fans for a bit of extra breeze. For those traveling with babies there is room for your portacot to be set up in one of the bedrooms or in the dining room (within ear’s reach of the bedrooms) and we can provide a high chair. Please note there is not a screen in front of the combustion fire so you would need to take care with little ones. The deck can look like a large drop off in the photos but it is only 60cm above the garden at the highest point.
Ode to the Orchard enjoys gorgeous views of Lenswood and the Adelaide Hills, wineries close by include Pike & Joyce, Mt Lofty Ranges Vineyard, Golding Wines, Anderson Hill, Cobb’s Estate, Tilbrook Estate, The Lane Vineyard, CRFT Wines and Bird in Hand. The quaint German town of Hahndorf is 15 minutes away which is great for a wander and some window shopping. Little ones might enjoy Cleland Wildlife Park in Crafers (20 mins) and also the Big Rocking Horse and Toy Factory in Gumeracha. Stanley Bridge Tavern and the Crafers Hotel are wonderful pubs for a meal. Lost in a Forest in Uraidla (10 mins away) has the best pizzas in the hills and a very cool setting in an old church.
  • Ode To The Orchard is a perfectly quiet, quaint getaway. Romany has beautifully maintained the original soul of the home with thoughtful touches. Our stay was relaxing in every way, featuring many an outdoor bath, homemade apple crumble and 360 views. Thanks Romany!

  • Ode makes you stop, listen, relax, touch and explore. We had the most beautiful experience staying at Romany's place. It was the perfect weekend getaway! The hand selected pieces were lovely, the bed was so comfortable and the extra treats were thoughtful. • Beautiful sparkling clean, modern apartment right behind the Main Street in Tanunda and close to all amenities. There is a great information centre nearby so we booked a winery tour from our front door. Brilliant place.

    Patricia2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was lovely and clean and rather spacious. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the high quality linen made it a hotel style experience. The extra inclusions of high quality local produce and stylish kitchen made it easy to stay in at times to cook and eat. The extra considerations toward organic and green products through out the place added to the well thought out hospitality this host provided. Easy walking distance to local places but the off street parking is reassuring towards the want to hire a car to really experience the wonderful places to visit in nearby areas. Perfect place to stay for a food and wine lover.

A warm welcome from the picturesque and historic Barossa! an international attraction for the wineries, restaurants, scenic surroundings and Germanic culture with plenty to do and see. The house is located near major arterial roads for easy access, but is in a quiet cul-de-sac with quiet neighbours – no city noise! Looking forward to making your stay comfortable. I have three separate rooms available. The Chardonnay Room, The Cabernet Room and The Pinot Room. Each can accommodate two guests.
You have a clean and tidy bedroom that has a comfortable modern double bed, hanging space, drawers, small table and a recliner. You have your own air-conditioning for heating or cooling, as well as a ceiling fan. A key for your bedroom door assures you your belongings are secure. There are well thought out little touches that make your stay that bit more comfortable and easy. You are getting more than a private room. My home is organised to be very guest friendly. You can access the lounge, dining, kitchen and laundry area. The kitchen is a full kitchen with all you need, not just a 'kitchenette'. The bathroom is for guest use only and has a large vanity space, separate shower recess and separate toilet. The bathroom may need to be shared with other guests if the other rooms are booked. The kitchen is available for food storage (fridge and cupboard) and also cooking. Please let me show you how to use the appliances and stove. I supply tea / coffee / hot chocolate / water, and a light breakfast of fruit and cereal. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer for a fee, again please let me show you how to use these appliances.
The immediate neighbourhood consists of settled home owners. Most houses have high fencing in their backyards for privacy. It is a very quiet area and has respectful neighbours. A quaint country town, with no city noise means that your stay will be relaxing and restful. Nuriootpa is surrounded by vineyards and farms. At any time of the year there is a lot of green vegetation. Being part of the Barossa Valley means there are a number of small towns all with their own charm and interests. Nuriootpa is known as the business end of the Barossa and has a new shopping mall. We have Foodland and Foodworks available for all your grocery needs as well as Mitre 10, clothing, sports and homeware shops, also Aldi and Cheap as Chips. A number of cafes are located throughout the Barossa towns. We have two 24 hour food options with Hungry Jacks or the Big Grill located at Caltex on the highway. Every town has a local pub which will serve great meals. The Vine Inn is a popular spot being open from 7 a.m. for breakfast to 10 p.m. with a bistro or sports bar. There are also high end dining experiences that will tantalise you with their local produce and amazing cooking skills. Churches are also a common sight. Finally, not forgetting the many wineries whether it is a boutique family winery or major winery.
  • Perfectly located and very accessible Air BnB, very homey and comfortable. Monica is a great host and provides everything you will need for a great stay. The room was very clean and tidy and the communal areas fabulous too. Thanks!

Set on 5 acres, Pondicherri is a small acreage landholding with a group of small buildings and exudes a rustic village atmosphere. The Barn is one of those buildings. Its borrowed rural amenity and views are enabled as it is surrounded by much larger farming land, creating a quiet private oasis yet you are close to everything within the Barossa Valley. Some of the buildings are of historic interest and date back to 1845. The Barn is one of four buildings on the property.
The Barn is a single room building constructed with thick stone walls and exposed internal timber beams. The building is aged well over 100 years. We are not sure of its original use. The Barn originally had the tiny window on the south side and one door many a year ago! For those that do book, look out for the circular patterns on the walls near the bed! Today, the Barn is furnished with a very comfortable super-sized (mega) king bed - or can be separated into two king single beds - complete with natural fibre quality bed linens. You have access to a smart TV with Netflix and Chromecast to watch movies while you cozy up in bed and/or access the NBN fixed wireless network for all your modern communication needs. Or, should you need to work (and we hope you don’t), you can set yourself up on the drop leaf table or maybe, just stay in bed! An eclectic separate dressing area showcases a large gilded mirror, a French vintage secretaire containing a hairdryer, hot water bottle, umbrella alongside hanging racks with two white bathrobes, a stool, and a long bench to contain your luggage. Included is a fold-out ironing board and iron. A small kitchenette contains a kettle, microwave, toaster and fridge to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is no running water in the Barn, but we do provide a handmade 2-litre capacity ceramic water purifier system that removes virtually all contaminants including fluoride. The water purifier can be replenished with potable water from the Wash House with the stainless steel jug that are provided in the Barn. The north-facing deck is totally private and is a wonderful sunny spot to start your day. Later, you can sip your glass of Barossa wine with the occasional spotting of kangaroos in the paddocks. On a clear night, the Milky Way is stunning! Download a stargazing app and find the different constellations. Get your phone torch out and spotlight spider eyes that twinkle like diamonds in the paddocks. Buy some local yummy delicacies and your stay is very relaxing, peaceful and rejuvenating - especially for city folk - or so we are told by our guests! The lockable private shower room and separate toilet are a short walk from The Barn and are located in the Wash House that is semi-attached to the (circa 1845) historic original settlers building of mud/straw and stone. Take a step back in time and ‘walk the walk’ of the original Barossa settlers - but these wash facilities are modern-day! We grow a selection of organic herbs and vegetables. Just ask us what’s growing and we would be delighted to pick fresh produce for you to enjoy during your stay with us. In the warmer months, you will have access to a 12 x 3.5 metre swimming pool. It is a shared space enjoyed by us and all guests but mostly you will find you can enjoy the pool by yourself. It is what is on the inside that counts! We live on the property too and we are gradually upgrading the grounds but you will be very comfortable and importantly - very private. However, if you are older or maybe have the need for suburban indoor comforts and/or a frequent night toilet user- the Barn might not be for you! The Barn is a mix of old and new experiences. It shares the nuances of glamping but it’s neither a hotel room experience, a house nor apartment! You can even leave the ‘dunny’ door open complete with a view! If you think you can enjoy this type of experience, we warmly welcome you to book with us at Pondicherri and The Barn.
We are only 5 minutes drive to the pretty historic village of Angaston that is well serviced with a varied selection of cafes, numerous restaurants ranging from great takeaways/dine in options to fine dining, 2 pubs, a florist, a supermarket, butcher, hardware, medical centre, post office, speciality Barossa food businesses and some retail therapy. We are 5 minutes drive from the famed Barossa Valley Farmers Market that is open every Saturday morning. There are many high-quality wineries, restaurants, food establishments and historic buildings to explore across the region. If food and wine are not your thing, there are numerous walking and cycling trails, some easy bushwalks including spotting kangaroos at Kaisersthul Conservation Park. Or you could go ballooning or a helicopter ride for the birds eye view! Just about everything except surfing! We are only one hour's drive to the nearest South Australian coastline, only one+half hour's drive into city of Adelaide and a one hour drive to the Adelaide Hills area. There is so much to do and explore in this beautiful part of Australia.
  • A perfectly located and luxurious sleep with everything the Barossa has to offer at your door. Enjoy the calm view before you start a day of great food, wine and wandering.

Magnificent river front location! Come and enjoy a relaxing holiday or action-packed adventure on the River Murray with the historic township of Mannum within walking distance. We offer an original 1950’s river front property located within Bolto Reserve, this is a quiet and peaceful location where you can relax, take photos, watch the birdlife under the shade of the river red gum trees or throw in a line and fish off the private jetty.
Enjoy a leisurely walk along the jetty and river’s edge whilst the paddle steamers and house boats go by. Watch the ferries or even take a short ride to the other side of the mighty River Murray and wander through the main street of Mannum. Spend time at the local farmers market, have coffee or ice-cream and browse the antiques shops. By all means pick up supplies at either of the two supermarkets in town and have a BBQ on site or eat out taking advantage of the country style bakeries and hotels. The kids will have fun with a large grassed area to play cricket, throw a frisbee or kick the football. Water activities are a must, bring your boat and utilise the private jetty and ski beach with the boat ramp only 300 metres away. Take the children for a swim, knee-board, tube ride, water ski or perhaps go fishing from the boat. Parking for cars and boat trailer is available at the rear of the property on the paved area. In the cooler months of the year bring firewood/blankets and toast marshmallows in the private fire pit on the property. In the warmer months spend time on the elevated balcony enjoying a glass of wine, watch the sunset and enjoy the gentle breeze coming off the water.

Located on the main street of Gawler - SA oldest town with beautiful heritage features Short hour drive to Adelaide CBD & Airport A short walk to train station with regular trains to city (day & night, 7 days a week) - Happy to help with train info, please ask. Close to Barossa (巴罗萨谷葡萄酒庄) - 15 to 20 min drive to beautiful wineries & country towns Supermarket just across the street Short walk to creek, parkland, recreation centre, cafes, restaurants, shops, library, gym, visitor centre, etc.
This Airbnb is a self-contained unit with its own entrance, it has: a carpeted queenbed bedroom (fan) a carpeted living room (aircon) a carpeted reading room a fully equipped kitchen a shower room (gravity fed hotwater) a toilet a backyard Please note: 1. Apart from the Queen bed for 2 people, a Single size foldable bed can be added if the booking is for 3 people (please remember to send a request when you book, as we need time to get the foldable bed ready). 2. Private carpark is in the rear, size approximately 2.5 m x 5 m (access via back street) - there are just a few big concrete stairs & a footpath between the private car park and the unit. 3. If you prefer street parking, the above-mentioned back street is an option. Also, there are public parking spots out the front (very close to the unit's front entrance, on Gawler main street). Some guests also parked their cars across the main street in the free shopping centre carpark during the day.
Gawler has many 19th Century buildings - a couple of old churches (for example, the Catholic, Anglican and Presbyterian churches) are worth having a look at. Visitor Information Centre will provide lovely colour brochures for the Gawler Self-driving Tour and Gawler Church Hill walking tour. Apart from history side of things, Gawler offers a relaxing and slow pace ambiance - go for a morning walk in the beautiful parkland or a jog along the beautiful creek. Rub shoulders with locals for a local taste experience at the very popular breakfast/brunch place Java Hut on the main street, grab an Italian styled coffee and a sweet treat at CIBO which is also located on the main street, at night try out local pub meals at Prince Albert Hotel which has a nice interior after their recent renovation. For second hand shop lovers, there are a few shops within walking distance - such as Vinnies, AWL, Salvos, Lifeline & Gawler Community House, etc. As for the market on a weekend, I personally like Farmers Market in Pioneer Park (just a stone's throw) where you get fresh produce at competitive prices, nice coffee and soak up nice vibes from the gathering of Gawler locals. There are also different Farmers Markets on the weekend in nearby towns - one of them we love to visit (just a short drive) is Barrossa Farmers Market which offers a wide range of Barrossa made goods, from jam to delicious meals. It is very popular and is a draw card to both locals and residents from other parts of Adelaide. Weekend drive destinations for us for things like a fun walk and a nice brunch are some nearby beautiful countrytowns - Angaston, Tanunda & Nuriootpa - about 20-25 mins drive from Airbnb. Clare Valley and Semaphore Beach are also our favourite hang out places on a weekend or on a public holiday, about 1 hour drive.

Comfortable beds and pillows with extra blankets available for those chillier nights. Heating and cooling were available and everything was sparkly clean. All in all I highly recommend this gorgeous spot in the Barossa.

  • We loved staying in this lovely studio. In the morning we heard lots of birds greeted each other. They gave different atmosphere from staying in other places. Superb nature experience. Definitely my bookmarked place to stay in Barrosa.

    Josh2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Darren’s place had everything we needed & was centrally located in the Barossa Valley. The room was spacious with a super-comfy king size bed as well as an extra bedroom with bunks we didn’t need. We slept unbelievably well! Darren & Delma were considerately quiet to ensure we were not disturbed. It was nice to be able to use a kitchenette to prepare basic snacks & breakfast. The area we used was very private with a nice outdoor setting that we used when the weather allowed. It was an easy & pleasant walk into Angaston for dinner. This is the perfect place to stay for guaranteed quiet, clean & comfortable accommodation.

Tamu Barossa is a fully self contained guest house with a blend of classic and modern design set on our lush two-acre property a mere 3 minute drive from the quaint little town of Lyndoch, the gateway to the Barossa Valley. It is separate from our main house so you will have full privacy to enjoy our cosy guesthouse. The name ‘Tamu’ means ‘sweet’ in Swahili and ‘guest’ in Malay. A happy coincidence that pays homage to Kenya and Malaysia, where my husband and I originated from.
At Tamu you can relax on your private verandah and sip some local wine or enjoy a delectable cup of tea. Take a stroll and wander around our property. We have a variety of young fruit trees, herbs, flowers and there are a lot of established gum trees and cypress pine which attract a number of birds such as the Rainbow Lorikeet, Kookaburra and honeyeaters. We are just a 13 minute drive to Tanunda the cosmopolitan heart of the Barossa with the best restaurants, entertainment and cellar doors. Award winning winery Kellermeister is just a two minute drive from us. The winery is rated in the top 7% of Australian producers by Australia's acclaimed wine critic, James Halliday. For those who are a bit more adventurous, the Altona CSR Landcare Reserve which is highly rated on Tripadvisor Australia is located just opposite our property. It has a 6km walking track and is a great place to observe the wildlife and vegetation. Or you could wander down on to the Barossa Trail which is a shared cycling and walking path that goes from the outskirts of Gawler through Lyndoch, Rowland Flat, Tanunda, Nuriootpa to Angaston.

  • This little gem is super close to the Barossa Valley. Luxury hidden paradise. Everything is brand new and super clean. It’s clearly been put together with a lot of love. Highly recommend a meal at Musque food and wine only 10 min drive away. Whistler wines, Hermera and Kellermeister were some of our favorite wineries during our visit. Would love definitely stay again on our next visit to the Barossa Valley!

A unique farm stay in the Barossa high country with a strong emphasis on an authentic food and wine experience. Expect fresh, seasonal, innovative dishes and excellent local wines in a beautiful and historic rural setting. Heaven in the hills.
Pennys is an original Barossa German farm, built back in the late 1800s by the Graetz Family, who then lived there for the next one hundred years. The original bluestone farmhouse is separated from a series of three side by side rooms, also bluestone, by a big, open courtyard. These three rooms that make up the guest quarters. They consist of the original German kitchen, the bedroom and a bathroom. The three rooms were the original work rooms of the farm and had fallen into disrepair by the time I purchased the farm in 2002. They have now been restored to a level which ensures guest comfort but remains true to their original spirit. The rooms are linked by the same roof line and a long connecting verandah. There are no internal doors, so moving between rooms involves stepping out onto the verandah; a good chance to breathe the very fresh and clean air that we have at Pennys! The old kitchen was where the bread was baked, (the original baker's oven is still intact) and all the food for the farming family was prepared. The food was then taken across and served in the main farmhouse. This system remained in place for over one hundred years. Now the old kitchen is a living area for our guests, with a generous library of books, games and dvds plus the mod cons of a smart tv and wifi. The kitchenette in this room allows for some basic food preparation but is by no means a full working kitchen. There is a small portable oven, a microwave, a fridge/freezer a kettle, a toaster and just outside the door in the courtyard is a WeberQ for guests to use. There are full facilities for making tea and coffee with an extensive range of loose leaf tea and good quality coffee provided and always milk, drinks, fruit and homemade baked goods. There is a good supply of crockery, cutlery and other kitchen essentials as well. A freestanding kitchen sink allows for easy washing up, with all the water provided through an urn attached to the sink. There is no plumbing in this room; there never was and I want to keep things as original as possible although without compromising the comfort of my guests. The bedroom is simple and very comfortable. It is perched above the farm's cellar and was originally used for food storage. When I first bought the property, it was full of old bee hives! The leather straps that rods were passed though to hang food are still there, fastened to the baltic pine roof. Outside the bedroom window is an old walnut tree and the dappled light that comes in through this window is quite lovely. Crisp cotton sheets, doonas and pure wool blankets ensure the beech-wood queen sized bed is super comfy. A simple, peaceful room for maximum cosiness and restful sleeping. The bathroom was originally the laundry and also where the young Graetz boys slept. This is the room that has been changed the most. The original dirt floor has been replaced by slate tiles and large plaster panels, handmade locally using old pressed metal ceiling iron as moulds, line the walls. An antique Edwardian dressing table now has the job of being the vanity unit and there is an antique red velvet chaise lounge for reclining on. The bath is an enormous, very old claw foot affair with the shower over it. The toiletries are natural, handcrafted and luxurious. A Danish wood heater stands in the corner and does a beautiful job of heating up the space in the cold weather. Full sized french doors open up onto a private guest courtyard. The courtyard is sheltered, private, faces east and is perfect for morning yoga sessions and breakfast when the weather is good. The larger courtyard that separates the guest accommodation from the main farmhouse has a raised, covered area for alfresco dining and living. There are two ponds in the courtyard; one for fish and one for frogs. Guest have full access to this area as well and this is the place where most of the wonderful conversation my family and I have with the guests. Surrounding the buildings is farm country. On the property, four Icelandic horses, a small flock of geese and two resident goats do their thing. Across the road, cattle graze among the giant old gum trees, often sharing their pasture with the local kangaroos. Next to the cows can always be found the sheep. Listen to the ewes and their lambs calling out to each other during lambing season, (June/July). The bird life is rich and varied, from colourful parrots to rainbow bee eaters in the summer and in autumn, the cockatoos come in to eat the walnuts from the big old tree outside the guest bedroom. There is a strong focus on food at Pennys. Delicious, innovative dishes made from fresh, sustainable, local ingredients, often grown on the property, are an important part of the experience. Breakfast is a given and by prior arrangement, for an extra cost, picnic baskets can be supplied and fully catered in-house dinners can also be organised. All food requirements are happily catered for. Pennys is rural; a car is necessary, but the attractions of the Barossa are close by. The famous Henschke Winery is a short ten minutes drive away. Head over there for some wine tasting and be prepared to be thoroughly spoiled by the staff at cellar door. Even closer is Brockenchack Wines. Here you can usually find Trevor, the owner of the winery, manning his cellar door on the weekends. Ask him about the red light on the front verandah; it is a good story! The lovely little town of Eden Valley is about 10 minutes drive south. Its old pub is delightful and Eden Valley's scenic lookout will take your breath away. A 15 minute drive west will see you in Angaston and the start of the amazing array of wineries, cafes, bakeries, butchers and restaurants that the Barossa is so famous for. Old, quirky, wild yet civilised, peaceful and natural are all words to describe Pennys Road. My friends, family and I love this little farm and I hope that you will too.
  • Fantastic area and great host. Only thing I would change is staying for more than one night.

    Zane2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful and positive experience at this farm stay. Gillian is such a genuinely friendly, kind and generous host (and quite the cook). Property was as described, tastefully eclectic, clean and well equipped. Great location in Eden Valley, away from the main tourist traps of the Barossa. Can definitely recommend!

    Julie2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian was absolutely amazing! Great space and great tips on where to go for dinner and different cellar door recommendations! She was even kind enough to have a little home made desert for us when we came back from dinner 🤤 Thank you so much Gillian! Will be back in the future 👌

    Declan2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The location is amazing with breathtaking sunsets and sunrises and is ideal for a quiet getaway away from the city. The place is very cozy and spacious and has everything you need. Gillian is a great host always up for a chat or to give tips. The breakfast was pretty good, too!

    Benchi2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian made our stay a very special experience. We stayed for 1 night over new years eve and she provided us with some beers and sparkling Shiraz to try, along with some delicious dark chocolate protein balls which was a lovely touch. The property was beautiful and extremely well kept with many of the original farm Cottage structures and modern furnishings. She strikes the perfect balance between friendly and helpful whilst not being over baring. She gave us a great tour with lots of history of the property and local tips of the area. Her two dogs are beautiful and there are some horses and geese around which add to the farm vibe. It was extremely peaceful and just the get away we wanted over new years eve. Id highly recommend Penny Lane cottage.

    Rhian2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • One has to undoubtedly start from this amazing and very welcoming and efficient host, Gillian. She is so passionate and dedicated to make sure one has the best time in her place. Even in extreme weather conditions (SA was very hot when we stayed), Gillian goes a million miles to make you feel at home. How amazing was that sorbet and all the breakfasts we had. The bathroom is a jewel not to be missed and the landscape is simply sensational and very peaceful. If it wasn't for the hot weather, we would have loved to go for a long walk around the area. and make sure you don't miss those cheeky geese and the 3 dogs that again make you feel at home all the way. thank you Gillian.

    Andrea2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian’s farm stay is absolutely beautiful! The setting was so peaceful and romantic! The luxe, rustic bathroom was our favourite room. Gillian was so friendly and went out of her way to make us feel at home - she’s an incredible cook!

    Esther2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you are after peace and quiet...this is it! Gillian and Laura welcomed us, told us the story of this wonderful renovation and introduced us to the horses, goats and dogs. We could then just soak up the quietness and relax. Gillian's breakfast was wonderful. Would definitely recommend!

Marriage proposals, weddings - it has all happened at The Chapel. Today, The Chapel is an elegantly renovated circa 1849 church in the small town of Lyndoch. The old ironstone exterior, the cathedral ceilings, contemporary decor alongside the cottage gardens and vistas of the Barossa ranges, make for a memorable Barossa experience and a great romantic weekend retreat and/or relaxing getaway.
The Chapel has two queen beds. The main bedroom is upstairs with its own ensuite shower and toilet. It is a loft style bedroom. The second bedroom is located downstairs in the open plan living room. It is shared space with one queen bed that can be partitioned off with curtains for privacy. The main living room has elegant cathedral ceilings, combustion glassfront fireplace, soft carpet floors and contemporary decor and a big comfortable sofa to sink into whilst enjoying a glass of Barossa wine. The sun-filled atrium and spa room is a great way to relax after a long day exploring the Barossa Valley. If you love to cook, a fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal. But the Barossa is known for its foodie culture with its many restaurants and cafes to explore and indulge. We can even organise your own private inhouse chef! Continental breakfast provisions are provided for one morning.

Situated in Rowland Flat on a three-acre property, the stone cottage was the original tack and feed rooms for Mr Rowland's stables. Separated by a courtyard the stables are now the home of the host. The cottage is comprised of a truly delightful bedroom with an antique double bed with stunning garden views; comfortable lounge room with TV/DVD, CD/radio, books and games; light and open equipped kitchenette with bar fridge, microwave, large electric frying pan and breakfast bar overlooking gardens through french windows (provisions for continental breakfast); the bathroom has both separate shower and claw foot slipper bath, toilet and vanity. R/c air-conditioning/heating and ceiling fans throughout. Access from the cottage to your own verandah with garden spilling over…serenity…the perfect spot for breakfast, coffee or bottle of local wine. Enjoy walks through our vineyard and paddocks and come across surprises such as our free-range chooks, wood fire pizza oven, an array of interesting seating and more. Incredible views across the valley floor to the imposing ranges or, bordering our property, the beguiling North Para River (in winter a roaring, cascading joy to behold or in summer the rock based riverbed allows access to caves, a geologists delight) and the birdlife is bountiful. Use of the swimming pool is available in the warmer months.
There’s plenty to do, only minutes away: Tanunda Pines Golf course, the bike/walking path (from Angaston to Gawler) runs past the top of our property, hot air ballooning, helicopter scenic flights, wineries, restaurants, art galleries, cafes and day spa (at the Novotel). What more could you want?
  • Kay and Madeline are the perfect hosts for a trip to the Barossa. Full of local knowledge and stories to make sure you have a great trip. The small touches make ‘The Stables’ an amazing place to stay with a very central location for you to explore the Barossa. We were treated with fresh eggs from the chooks, homemade jams and bath salts, local milk and plunger coffee! Dixie and Tibs (the dogs) were extremely friendly and loved meeting us at the gate for a pat. We can’t wait to visit another day and experience more of the Barossa.

    Charlotte2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved The Stables and we’ll definitely be back. An easy drive to Tanunda, a short walk to Jacobs Creek winery and very convenient access to the bike path that runs through the Barossa. The accommodation was very comfortable and well appointed and situated in lovely gardens. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Thank you to Dixie and Tibs and their humans for such a lovely stay.

Perfect for one or two people, The Writer's Studio is fully self-contained. It has a really comfortable and firm inflatable queen bed. Away from the main house, it opens out onto a small orchard. This is a quiet oasis you can enjoy in between exploring all the Barossa has to offer. It has dining and sitting areas as well as a reading nook in the loft. It has a sofa which can open out for a child if necessary. Or we can set up another inflatable bed in the loft, accessed by a loft ladder.
The Writer's Studio is great for singles or couples. I originally called it, The Shed, as it was once a hay shed with three walls and a grass floor. It morphed into The Writer's Studio after various friends asked to use it as their retreat to spend time quietly catching up on writing projects. Wineries abound, as do eating opportunities, ranging from the award winning Appellation at The Louise and fermentAsian (consistently names in the Top 100), to Vintners, Harvest Kitchen, 1918, St Hugo’s and Maggie Beer's Farm. There is also a huge selection of light meal options offered by most of the wineries.
There is a vineyard and winery cellar door directly the house. It is a short, two block walk to the main street, supermarket, bakery, coffee shops, restaurants, Information Centre and bicycle hire.
  • If the Barossa is an oasis then this is the oasis within. Charming, self contained modern cottage set in a beautiful garden with artwork inside and out. Breakfast for a couple of days including fresh local bread and Lesley Ann's knowledge and tips for the local area was much appreciated.

    Rick2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I absolutely loved our stay at Lesley’s place - if only we had stayed a little longer! The studio was clean, had all the amenities required and breakfast items provided. The location was great for us. It was only a short drive to the wineries we wanted to visit and a short walk into town. We’ll definitely stay here when we return to the Barossa Valley.

  • This place was gorgeous . We loved the decor ...simple but sensuous and sumptuous in its use of colour and texture . The host was very generous in her local knowledge . Generous supplies provided for breakfast and access to beautiful fresh fruit from the host’s garden . Very good location with great local restaurants and wine bars within walking distance. Do not be concerned by the inflatable bed. It was incredibly comfortable and we slept well . Despite the modest size of the kitchen , we were easily able to cook ourselves a full meal . Delightful

  • Studio 57 is a self-sufficient aesthetically-pleasing spot. Had everything we needed. Pictures don’t do justice. Great location, so central for us to get around. Even walking distance if you’d like that too. We were celebrating a birthday and were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine and a birthday card upon arrival. Very sweet of Lindsay and Annemaree to go that extra mile. We booked a wine tour with Lindsay as well, he knows the best spots. Pillows are plenty and bed is very comfy, but if you can only sleep on a firm pillow - bring your own. Don’t leave without saying hi to Denzel (the cutest Cavoodle in Tannunda). Forgot our passports behind and Annemaree was kind enough to send them back to us by post. Can’t recommend this place enough!

The cottage has access to its own private driving range , plus many many more hidden gems tucked away.
5 mins walk and you are in the Heart of Tanunda with an array of coffee shops, wine bars and restaurants a stone throw away.
  • We absolutely loved our stay! The vineyard views were stunning and we loved the amazing spa and celler! The extra details such as complimentary wine and chocolate were lovely! We can’t wait to come back!

    Brie2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing renovated cottage in the heart of Barossa within walking distance of Tanunda’s main street. Every detail is thoughtfully taken care of and the facilities are of a very high standard. The hosts, Jan, Craig, Scott are very inviting and always available when required. Ten stars out of five.

    Sydney2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is setup to take advantage of the amazing vineyard views, it’s so relaxing either on the couch or in the pool. Was really happy with the quality of the appliances and furnishings. Retrieving a night cap from the cellar was a real novelty. Its walking distance from the coffee shops and restaurants on the main street which made it so easy after a night enjoying a couple of glasses of wine. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

    Brandon2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely phenomenal place... nuff said... Gorgeous view, great place for good times. Jan, Craig , and Scott where awesome people very down to earth and relatable. Can’t thank them enough for offering up this place!!

    Tanner2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Staying here really made our trip to the Barossa extra special. The plunge pool with views over the vineyards was a highlight and my partner also had fun on the driving range next to the house. Each night you can go down into your private cellar and choose a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. We cooked in the old fire oven on the balcony but there's also a fully equiped kitchen. There's local gins to taste with capi tonic in the fridge. Also chocolate! and milk for your nespresso is all provided. We never wanted to leave the house. It's also only 5 mins walk from town and close by to so many good wineries. Even though you're right in the thick of it you feel miles away. This would have to be one of my favourite airbnb's I've ever stayed in.

    Alana2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable cottage in a great location. Worth a stay just to watch the sunset from the pool.

    Nigel2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • If we could have given Rogasch Cottage 10 stars we would have! A superb little gem hidden away amongst the vines within 5 minutes walking distance to the main street bustling with cafe's and restaurants. Scott was such a welcoming host along with Jan and Craig - nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a private tour of the micro-vineyard as well as joining them for a G & T on our first night. Beautifully renovated, the Cottage is a mix of old and new with all the luxuries one could ever ask for along with your very own stocked cellar. Wine, local gin, chocolate and even a litre of milk in the fridge welcomed us on our arrival. Carefully thought through touches make this place an absolute must stay. Watching sunset in the plunge pool is something we will remember for a long time. We were sad to leave but are already planning on a return stay! Outstanding Air BnB :)

    Varda2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • If we could give this place 6 stars, we would. The view is spectacular and the cottage has been beautifully renovated. The plunge pool is an absolute treat! Scott was incredibly accomodating and it was great talking with him about his vineyard and wines (which are amazing!).

The newly renovated suite was once a part of the original homestead. It now features a large bedroom, a modern bathroom and kitchen with (cook top, toaster, coffee machine) perfect for a solo or couple getaway. The suite sits just in front of the family home but has its own access and entrance, giving you privacy during your stay and uninterrupted views of the valley. So... don’t just take our word for it, that the sunset view from the deck is one of the most spectacular in the Barossa - grab a bottle of wine and come and see for yourself! Your friendly hosts are on hand to help you with any local advice and Jazzy (the dog) and Ginger (the cat) may also come and say hello.
  • Karl is a fantastic host and the place is a perfect little getaway in the heart of wine country. Everything you need is there and it’s sparkling clean. Beautiful produce supplied for breakfast and hanging on the deck with Ginger the cat is extremely relaxing... highly recommended!

    Michael2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Karl is a very warm host. We really liked the accommodation. The accommodation is perfect for exploring the Barossa Valley. We had top wineries nearby. Hentley Farm Wines, Hayes Family Wines, Henschke, ... In the evening we enjoyed the most beautiful sunset on the terrace and we discovered many kangaroos next to our accommodation. We had a delicious breakfast from Karl in the fridge. Homemade honey, bread, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and butter. We love it and we will come back! Thank you so much Karl!

    Sarina2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Karl’s place was lovely, the place is beautiful set in amongst the grape vines. Karl was very helpful and attentive. Could not recommend more.

    Tara2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I were beyond impressed with our stay at Vineyard Views! Everything from the styling to the surprise breakfast goodies were a hit - and the incredible views go without saying. The location is also great - we stayed in for dinner to be able to enjoy it all but we easily would have been able to get outselves around to local eateries. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation in the Barossa and hope to go back ourselves.

    Ashleigh2020-02-26T00:00:00Z

    Joseph2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space and in a good location, with lots of local insight!

    Thomas2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely incredible. Having been to the Barossa a few times previously, staying at Karl’s place has made this time the most special. The apartment is awesome, super clean and comfortable and incredible views of the surrounding vines - especially at sunset. Karl was really friendly and welcoming (as were Jazzy and Ginger) - he even bailed us out when we arrived too late to get food anywhere. We really, really didn’t want to check out. 100% recommend.

    Lucy2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Strategic location, just 10minutes to restaurants n famous winery. Less travelling time, means more time to explore. Place is fantastic, clean and fully equip kitchen. Luxury but not over doing it. Comfortable and spacious. Like the natural theme and sundeck to have drink or two or three, so close to vineyard.

  • Lovely new house with a gorgeous view. The hosts have decorated the interior beautifully. Had a couple of really nice touches e.g. complimentary wine and chocolate apricots. The outside deck is a great all weather area with the addition of blinds. There is a private pontoon, If only we had a boat :) I would definitely recommend this property.

  • Awesome place with a beautiful view. The place was lovely and clean and provided everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again

    Leonie2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Whistling Kite is as good as the photos show and is certainly one of the best positioned properties within Mannum Waters. We enjoyed a three night stay with our children and grandchildren in mid October and the weather was perfect. If you have a boat, the pontoon is perfect for easy entry to the main river. The lawned area and firepit between the pontoon and the house - and the river facing balcony are all perfect areas for entertaining or just lounging around, morning through night. The house itself is well equipped and has all that you would need for a relaxing break. Thoroughly recommended!

    Peter2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect location for a quiet weekend to unwind. Whistling Kite is a modern, well-appointed house in a magnificent, picturesque location. The view from the deck has to be seen to be believed and the abundance and variety of bird-life is amazing. We will definitely return.

  • Steve and Janine hospitality was outstanding. The location is absolutely perfect if you want to stay in the heart of Barossa and easily reach everything around in less than 20 minutes. • This is such a beautiful place to stay... definitely the fanciest tent we've ever stayed in. We felt like we did it all... feed the horses, bath overlooking the land, breakfast alfresco with the sheep, and wine under the stars. It feels like your own little remote paradise, but beautifully furnished and with touches of hospitality that go above and beyond. (We did end up having some 40+ weather during our stay, so it got a bit hot of the second night with no breeze, but the fan and AC really helped.) We've already recommended to friends.

    Elle & Brendan2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing accommodation! Definitely a luxury stay and in a beautiful location. The wildlife was a great bonus - we saw a kangaroo plus joey about 50 metres from the tent. Will be recommending to all our friends!

  • Glamping comes with the friendliest horses, sheep & dog. I love this! Perfectly baked fresh bread & delicious local wine greated us on arrival & the property boasted the most adorable little seating areas hidden amongst the surrounds.

  • Cannot speak highly enough of Boongarrie Luxury Tent - was amazing and perfectly equipped with generous and thoughtful personal touches. We loved it!

  • We couldn’t fault our stay at Boongarie luxury tent. You tell that Kate and Garry go above and beyond for their guests and have thought of everything. Finding the fully stocked fridge with breakfast supplies was a special touch. Communication with Kate was friendly and helpful. Providing us with tips for local wineries and restaurants before our stay. 10/10 could not recommend enough!!

  • We loved staying here over New Years! Even though it was hot, we found things to do and the aircon was very handy! Kate gave us great restaurant recommendations which we made the most of. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet escape.

  • Unfortunately we were unable to stay at this beautiful property due to the real threat of bushfires. Kate went above and beyond to communicate with us and make sure we were safe and happy. We look forward to eventually meeting the lovely Kate soon and staying at her beautiful property.

  • The whole experience was pure magic. The tent is even more beautiful in person and Kate & Garry went above and beyond with extra touches. The horses were so friendly! Definitely buy apples of carrots from the market and spend some time feeding them. Pootawanga Wineries just across the way is some of the best wine I've had in South Australia - highly recommend booking a private tasting. However, if you're stuck on what to do, just flick Kate a message. She has spot-on suggestions. Overall, one of the best weekends away we've ever had. Highly recommend staying here.

  • I booked Karen's Coach House for my family to stay in for my wedding night. Karen was so easy to communicate with. My family explained how great the place was, from the number of rooms available, to the rustic theme throughout the house and to the great location. Thank you Karen

  • What an amazing place with a fantastic welcome breakfast from Karen. This old coach house is one of the most unique places I've stayed, and I'd recommend it for couples, families and groups alike. Thanks to Karen for sharing her amazing property with us.
