I completely recommend this apartment. It has everything you need for a great stay. It was really clean, in a good location, a 2 minute walk to the main train station. Not far from main tourist areas. Tram at train station takes you to exhibition centre. Martin was a great host who did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. He supplied tourist guides of Basel, this made things easier for us. I am so glad we booked this apartment, rather than a hotel. There is great WiFi and a printer is available if needed.

Our one night stay at La Belle Maison was exceptional. The location was excellent, with easy access to the train station and airport, which Jean was happy to give full directions to and from. The city centre is a short and easy walk away (about 10 mins), so was perfect for shopping, the Christmas markets, the river and the Cathedral etc. It was also very close to tram and bus stops which arrive very regularly in Basel. The room was tidy, comfortable and cosy. The house was very homely and welcoming, with a nice shower. The bed was comfy. It's worth mentioning our host. Jean was exceptional with detail and information before our arrival, and, despite us having some difficulties with our arrival, he accommodated to our every hurdle. He sent us comprehensive instructions on how to arrive and a ticket for free transport around Basel. When we arrived, Jean helped direct us on what to do and see during our short stay. He also will provide a delicious breakfast for an extra 8chf each which is very cheap compared to the rest of the expensive city restaurants and cafes. Our only complaint is that we didn't have the time to stay longer!

This is a true Bed and Breakfast. Jean makes you feel right at home even before you arrive. He is a superb host and interesting to talk to. Jean organises mission trips to Africa to bring aid to a school for AIDS orphans. All the proceeds of the BNB go to this cause! La Belle Maison is exactly that, a beautiful home. Very luminous and well decorated. The beds are also very comfortable, had a really good night's sleep! The location is also ideal, just 10 minutes walk from the center. Highly recommendable

We stayed 2 nights at Jean's and had a rellay pleasant stay. We booked the breakfast deal and could try Jean's home-made bread and Hefezopf, which were both delicious. We can really recommend staying with jean and Monica. Jean's advice for a loveley route to Lausanne Through the Jura was amazing. Thanks a lot, Jean.

Because of some circumstances, I wasn't able to stay at Jean's house, but he was great in all communication and very helpful. I hope I get the chance to stay here. Given all the other glowing reviews, I'm sure it will be a lovely stay.

We came to Jean and Monika on a (very) spontaneous visit to Basel and we greatly enjoyed our stay at La Belle Maison. Jean is a formidable, witty host and we felt like we visited many parts of the world in a few hours.

Christina's place was perfect for my stay. It is very close to Basel airport. The room and shower are actually separate to the rest of the house. The bed was comfortable (there are two single beds), the shower was powerful and all the communication was spot on. I'd whole heartedly recommend Christina's place and will definitely look to stay again on my next visit to Basel

Christina hat eine top Wohnung, bei der keine Wünsche offen bleiben. Es ist alles vorhanden über Handtücher, ausreichend Decken, Kaffeemaschine, etc. Alles ist neu und top modern eingerichtet. Der Kontakt mit Christina war perfekt und auch ihr Partner hat uns sehr flexibel an den Flughafen gefahren und das zu einer sehr frühen Uhrzeit als noch kein Shuttle ging. Ansonsten besticht die Wohnung durch die Nähe zum Flughafen als auch der Stadt Basel. Vielen Dank Christina

Super logement avec entrée indépendante. Très grande chambre avec bureau ou l'on peux être loger largement à deux. Très belle salle de bain avec douche à l'italienne et sèche serviettes chauffant ce qui est un plus lorsque l'on aime avoir des serviettes chaudes en sortant de la douche. À disposition une cafetière Nespresso et de quoi ce désaltérer ce qui est très bien. Je recommande vivement ce logement qui agréable ainsi que ses hôtes.

Great Place to stay when visiting Basel.

A great city location close to everything! Spacious and easy to feel comfortable. Host super responsive and easy checkin with key box. Of note the noise at night goes very late as there's no shortage of fun bars/restaurants and dance/nightclubs nearby but if you're a sound sleeper you'll be just fine. Pool was too cold to swim in (October, to be expected ;) but the deck is awesome and I can imagine no better place to stay and relax in summer! Enjoy!

The apartment of Lawrence is really awesome. It spans over two floors and is perfect for a stay in Basel, just 2 mins walk from the Barfuesserplatz. The apartment has all necessary tools for cooking, it has a large kitchen area and a very big living room area as well. It has one large bathroom with bathtub and two toilets that are separate from the bathroom. With 5 bedrooms it is perfect for a family, especially because they span over two floors.

The apartment was clean, spacious and had all things that were promised. Location is great in the heart of the Basel restaurants/bars. Parking in Stein Parkhaus is extremely convenient. The kitchen is well equipped

We had a short, but excellent note left on our arrival at the Loft Apartment - it was the perfect choice for our family of 7 - plenty of space for everyone to spread out, a fabulous pool and just a minute's walk to some excellent restaurants and clubs. The apartment was clean and the bathroom never ran out of hot water! If you are looking for a base in Basel for a short break with friends would definitely recommend.

This place worked great for our group of 5. It is just a couple of blocks to get to great eating and shopping and easy walking to tourist destinations through the charming old parts of the city. It was too cold for swimming but the rooftop pool area was a neat place to hang out and look out over the town. We had the whole huge place to ourselves, I'm not sure if it's always that way but it was great for us. Our host had just moved in and it was better furnished than the pictures we had seen just a couple of days before. We booked last minute and were so pleased with how accomodating our host was. I definitely recommend this place.

Such a lovely stay during Fasnacht. It was a blustery, rainy evening when I arrived but I was greeted at the door with two warm and sunny smiles. Ina and Völker thought of everything and more - they provide nice touches for guests and seem to understand people's needs well. The house is peaceful and charming, there was not a speck of dust anywhere, and I personally felt very comfortable during my entire stay. Convenient to Basel though also interesting to walk around the neighborhood; the little park in front has special breeds of chickens, ducks, sheep and a goat! Most of all, I felt lucky to get to know the hosts, who were friendly, reliable, generous and communicative. Just a wonderful approach to life. Highly recommend for those also looking for this kind of pleasant experience.

The house is close to public transportation. You can be at Basel Station in around 20-25 minutes by regional train. The room faces a very nice park and is nicely furnished and very clean. The bathroom is also clean and well-equipped. Ina and Volker are very nice and helpful. The floors are a bit creaky which can be a little surprising in the beginning. All in all an excellent stay!

Volker and Ina are very nice and friendly, we talked a lot over a pot of hot green tea. Jean is a great host. Always helpful and friendly, gives you a lot of advice if you want to go sightseeing and he has a beautiful mindset. The house is also really nice to look at from inside and out. No reasons to complain whatsoever (except maybe the weather when I was visiting, but I doubt Jean's responsible for that even though he apologized for it)

Half way to Italy, we spend one night with Jean and Monica. We expirienced their genuin hospitality and recommend their beautiful home to everyone who has a heart for the less fortunate in the world.

"La Belle Maison" is a friendly and welcoming place to sleep and take a great moment in Basel. Indeed, it's so close to the city center and the train station that it's easy to find. Besides, the breakfast prepared by Jean and Monika is really good !! You have to get it if you choose "la Belle Maison" (home bread, lots of marmelade, salty or sweet breakfast in a good atmosphere for sure). Finally, Jean is a really nice and friendly host towards their guests. At the beginning, he takes time to explain you what you should do and visit in Basel. Then, he is very pleasant and funny with a lot of experiences to talk about. Consequently, if you want to visit Basel, don't hesitate to choose "La Belle Maison" => I recommend it !!

Room 3 is definitely with a prize of 60 bugs 30.00 bugs too expensive! There are no real bed just a bad mattress. The room was clean and the people were nice. But anywhy I will definitely not visit la belle maison for a second time.

Jean was a fantastic host. La Belle Maison was as described. We rented N3 which had two single beds. Breakfast was tasty and Jean was an excellent companion sharing his experiences/stories of humanitarian works. Jean provided us with a map and tips on what to see and do in Basel as well. A great host and would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Basel affordably.

Darragh is a wonderful host and gave us a very warm welcome on arrival. He was on his way to buy fresh croissants for our breakfast when we arrived! He went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable and felt at home. The accommodation was impeccable and the double bed extremely comfortable. The room was a very good size and very quiet. The bathroom includes an excellent shower with unlimited hot water. We were also given access to the kitchen at all times. The flat is very conveniently located for the station and airport bus and also for the city centre. There are frequent trams in all directions and the flat is extremely quiet. We really enjoyed our stay with Darragh.

I stayed just one night but Darragh was kind and helpful. Everything was very clean, nicely done and the bed was great!

I stayed in Basel for 3 nights. Uta made me feel very welcome at her flat. While I was there she checked in with me to make sure everything was good. The walk from the flat to Basel public transportation was short. Location overall very good. I would like to stay at Uta's apartment again.

Uta is a fabulous hostess, she makes you feel welcome. The room is very comfortable. The train station is a short distance away and transportation there is great, are many shops and restaurants near her lovely home. Her dog is an added bonus. She's a cutie.

This place was fantastic! Bright and cheerful and just adorable. It's made me feel right at home. She was actually on vacation while I was there so I never got to meet her but she was soooo sweet and answered all my questions promptly and even sent me pictures of her and her adorable grandchildren. It really made the experience so much more personal than staying in a hotel. I hope to go back one day just to finally meet her! But the place was clean, plenty of food, fully stocked kitchen for cooking, and very nice rooms. Everything was truly great!

Annette ist sehr offen, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Küche kann mitbenutzt werden und ich bin häufig auf einen Kaffee eingeladen worden. I visited Raffa and Dan together with a friend and can really recommend a stay at their place. It takes only like 15 min to the centre of Basel with the tramway. They were really nice, everything went smoothly and we even had a lovely breakfast. I would definitely come back whenever I'll visit this region again!

The room is as advertised, however I couldnt get an sleep on my first night as there were some people not living in the property wandering around creating noise until very late. There is also noise from tram movements outside but that's not too bad.

Julian's apartment was great, really spacious and clean. Julian met me outside and then gave me a tour of the apartment. I was able to wash my clothes which was helpful after travelling. The room can be noisy late at night and early in the morning due to the trams but you get used to it pretty quickly. It's the same as any living in any major city. I would be happy to stay here again next time I'm in Basel.

Very nice place with lovely people. It's only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Basel. The apartment is up a few flights of stairs though and trams go past often, so not recommended if you're a light sleeper or don't like stairs.

Very friendly host(s) , spacious, clean, comfortable and central apartment - excellent value for money. Slept with window open as it was a little stuffy, and the trams in the early morning might have been a minor distraction for some -although I was so tired oi could have slept through anything

Very nice stay at Julian's ! Perfect if you have an event at the congress center as the place is 50 m away. Julian welcomed me at 00h30 and he gave me a small local present when I left. Would definitely stay again at Julian's if needed.

Fernando is not like the other hosts we had before. He welcomes you in a really warm way, making you feel at home. He hosted me on my birthday and put some balloons and decorations for me. Habla muy bien español, pudimos comunicarnos perfecto. Contesta siempre los mensajes y es muy atenta con sus huéspedes. Ella nos fue a buscar a la estación cuando llegamos, y al irnos también nos llevó al aeropuerto. Sin dudas muy recomendable.

The Room was very nice and perfectly located, just one minute walk from the congress center. The whole place was decorated with nice art work and I enjoyed the stay. I had just minor issues, I got to know very late that I am not sharing the apartment with the host, but two other Airbnb renters. They were nice guys but it was still not a comfortable feeling. The bedroom door locks from inside but not from outside and the bathroom did not have a lock. Host did make up for it with her hospitality. I would recommend it for people coming to congress senter.
