  • What an amazing building and location. Beautiful modern interiors in an original old building. We used it for a business get together and training and it was ideal for that. We would definitely look to re-book in the future.

  • What a fantastic little find this gem was! The house is so impressive. Everything you could of thought of was in the house, the space was amazing for 16 adults and 9 kids. All the rooms had Tv’s in them so no arguing about watching Telly! All the appliances in the world you could think of and Stephen was a great host, replying ASAP to any questions that we had. We will definitely be coming to stay again!

  • Fabulous stay for a 40th birthday with friends. The house is spectacular. All the bedrooms were lovely and spacious. Lots of storage space for food and drinks for everyone. Paul the housekeeper was very, very quick to respond with any questions we had during our stay. The hot-tub, jacuzzi bath and coffee machines were extra-special touches.

  • Booked this for a hen do and it was perfect! Large property with great grounds! We particularly loved the kitchen area and hot tub! There were also great options for those who did not want to use the hot tub, like the cinema room and the games room with table tennis etc. Would be great for family gatherings and big groups for hen do parties etc.

You will drive off the quiet country road, up the farm track and arrive at Top House Farm where your Shepherds Hut is awaiting. The Shepherds Hut boasts a full history with it's original owner being Sir Winston Churchill! Within the Hut is a small double bed, electrics and lighting, a small oven and stove. You will have access to a toilet and hand basin and our fabulous Hot Tub and BBQ Hut. Sadly there is no shower/bath.
With totally private use of all of the spaces you can really relax and forget about the world during your stay. The shepherds hut is a cosy bedroom space with beautiful views over the rural countryside and just around the corner is your own private hot tub which you can use as much as you like. The BBQ hut gives you the perfect place to chill out and cook your own meals on the open fire! Wood and coal etc. is all provided free of charge! The toilet and washing facilities are within the farmhouse just a short 10 second walk away.
Top House Farm is based around 0.7 miles off the nearest road and is just a short drive to several good quality local pubs and restaurants. The nearby village of Market Bosworth is popular with walkers and gathers a lot of interest from the steam train running from Shackerstone. Market Bosworth is also the home of the Battle of Bosworth and the newly found Richard III site. It's a great, quiet place to be but you are within minutes of a lot to do or you can just step out of your hut and go for a relaxing walk.
  • Hands down one of the nicest nights away! Amazing being in the countryside and waking up to nature like alpacas! Utterly stunning and will definitely be rebooking!

    Holly2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fabulous stay at the hut! We got to feed the goats & alpacas and the host was brilliant.. hut had everything you needed for the stay. Ducks and dogs are so cute, it was lovely waking up and hearing them quacking. Cooking food in the hut was fun and it was lovely and warm , very relaxing stay. Alpaca bedding is super warm and snug so don’t worry about being cold! Would deffo recommend x

    Rachael2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for two nights in March, we made good use of the facilities. All of our cooking was done over the open fire which was really fun, and the hot tub is lovely and warm after a long day of exploring. We also got to meet and feed the goats and alpacas which was also a fun experience. The Sheppard's hut is cosy and comfortable. Bear in mind you are staying on a farm so take your boots and expect them to get a little dirty!

    Ashley2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, how serene! Me and my partner couldn’t get enough of the views , we had a lovely welcome and felt so comfortable. The views were beautiful, every little touch from the cozy Shepard’s hut to the relaxing jacuzzi were perfect. Lovely added extra of feeding the alpacas before we left.

    Danielle2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place for a getaway. Clean, thoughtful and great host.

    Dale2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing night at the shepherds hut, despite the weather in February the hosts bent over backwards to help make our stay as good as possible and they succeeded, genuinely lovely people, still using the jacuzzi in the windy weather and feeding the alpacas made it extra special, we will definitely come back again and we would recommend to anyone! Thankyou!!! Liv and Jess

  • A superb getaway for a night of calm and back to nature. Surrounded by countryside this secluded little hut is warm and cosy. The hot tub is a must with great powerful jets and the hut with its open fire is truly magical.

A quiet and comfortable self contained house with private off street parking in the middle of the National Forest. The pub and village shop are a 2 minute walk away. The town centre is a few minutes drive with supermarkets, leisure centre, restaurants, etc. Several lovely walks literally from the doorstep. We'll loan you our dog to show you the way if you need! Great for couples, small families or business travellers with motorway, rail and airport all within easy reach
The house is detached, self contained and has recently been refurbished. It has a fitted kitchen, dining area and living area. The kitchen will hopefully contain everything you need, including a cooker/hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and washing machine. The daybed in the dining area converts to a full size double, with bedding provided. We can also provide a travel cot if it would be helpful. The upstairs has a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. The house sits opposite the main house, so while you'll always have your own privacy, we are only across the way if there's anything you need. Parking for one car is just outside the gateway to the house and away from the main road. If you are coming in more than one car let us know and we can arrange a second space for you. The house is suitable for people travelling for business or pleasure.
Packington is a small, peaceful village, set in the Leicestershire countryside just off the A42 and close to the historical market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Ashby is famous for its 15th century castle which is open for the public to explore. The town is also home to a variety of pubs and restaurants. Given that Packington sits within the National Forest we are surrounded by large and small woods planted as part of that scheme which offer lovely walks. Calke Abbey, a National Trust property, is about a 20 minute drive away. We also about 15 minutes away from Conkers Discovery Centre, 120 acres of maturing woodlands, lakes, ponds and play areas, including an 18 stage Activity Trail challenge. Slightly further afield, the National Space Centre, Twycross Zoo, Drayton Manor Park, Alton Towers, the Battlefield Line and the National Memorial Arboretum are all accessible for day trips out. The local pub, the Bull and Lion, is a short walk away and serves food on most days.
  • The place is exactly as it is on pictures. Very clean, comfy, has all the appliances needed in the kitchen. Good double bed, hot and good pressure in the shower. Very quiet for a good night sleep. Phil and Anna were quick to respond at all times, and helpful throughout the stay. Communication and directions were very clear, and check in was smooth and easy. Lovely place, lovely people, highly recommended.

My place is close to Country parks and Historic Villages. It is near to many tourist attractions and has easy access to the motorway for City shopping and restaurants. In the village there is a country pub and yoga studio. You’ll love my place because it’s a Barn Conversion and has period beams and a modern light feel. It is in quiet rural location, great for walking and relaxing. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, Large family’s visiting local attractions and business travellers.
The Barn is on the edge of a small village, overlooking farmland. Upstairs there is a spacious open plan living area and a newly fitted kitchen with a table for dinning or an ideal work space. There is pine flooring throughout, exposed beams and velux windows which give it a light contemporary feel. Entering the apartment there is a hall area for coats and shoes and pine stairs. The 3 bedrooms are downstairs, one is a double with en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath and shower, plus underfloor heating. The other is a twin bedroom with en-suite shower room. The third room is a double room with en-suite and has a 40” Tv and its own small kitchen, This room is only accessible after booking for 5 or more full paying guests. It is very peaceful and relaxing, previous guests always tell us what great nights sleep they have!
The property is set within a peaceful village with a popular pub/ restaurant just a 2 minute walk away. Lots of lovely walks on your doorstep. There is a small shop and post office in the next village which is a 20 min walk or 4 mins in the car. The Barn is in close proximity to the Historical Town of Market Bosworth (10mins by car) which has a Country park, Water Park, as well as the Battle of Bosworth Visitors Centre. Twycross Zoo is 5 mins away. Local supermarkets are in Market Bosworth, Ashby de-la-Zouch and Tamworth.

  • Beautiful hidden gem in the wonderful countryside. This place is exceptionally clean and is nicely decorated, the host Andy was very helpful and friendly and responded quickly to any queries we had. He provided amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lots of kitchen essentials like milk, juice, bread, butter, tea bags, and much much more - these touches were greatly appreciated. The property has ample off road parking and felt very safe and secure. We were pleasantly surprised by this place on arrival as it is even more wonderful in person. Would stay again & highly recommend.

  • Julie and Charlie are both very welcoming hosts and the fresh fruit and wide range of choice all made for a substantial breakfast. The West wing is really like a private area with large double bedroom, great looking children’s room and spotless bathroom. Lovely garden area looking out from the breakfast room too. We went to the local pub (Bull & Lion) with family and the meal there was good with generous portions and accommodating staff with particular food requests.

  • What a lovely home and a lovely place for us to stay a few days whilst visiting friends and family. Our toddler and 10month old loved the nursery, and us adults found the space super comfy. The breakfasts were brilliant too, and hosted with such friendliness. We plan to stay every time we are back up there.

Detached house, garden, patio, conservatory, sitting room, dining room and kitchen. There are 2 bedrooms to rent with single beds shared family bathroom, toilet downstairs. I live in so am on hand if needed. Central to shops national trust walks restaurants skiing and cinema. Ample parking but due to work commitments may need discussions on this. A great place to chill in the sun trap garden which is well maintained and also 4 mile commute to M1 or Burton. My dogs are human friendly too.
The house is an unusual design for a fairly new home and is the only one of its type on the estate called the corner house by locals, the inside also reflects this with some interesting features which create interesting conversations. There are plenty of rooms to use and privacy is always respected and the desire to socialize too. I work so am often absent but all rooms are available except the other bedrooms of course. Make the space your own and enjoy the lovely facilities that the area has to offer.
Most people work so it's quite during the day full coverage security cameras are in operation.
  • Susan went out of her way to ensure she could meet me on my arrival. As well as the ideal single room I was given the run of her entire house as needed. The location was great for my visit to National Forest and is very close to the Conkers facilities as well. Spotlessly clean and with some extra touches in the room.

Our two storey apartment was built in 1810, is grade II listed and is part of the conservation area of Melbourne. Built by William Warren and Valentine Radford, it was traditionally the living quarters to a bakery below. It sits on floors two and three in a three storey building with a private entrance and it's own off street parking space to the rear. With lots of original and traditional features, it has sash windows, a log burner and some quirky staircases for you to enjoy.
A quirky blend of original and new. A newly fitted light and spacious kitchen with eating area, a cosy lounge with log burner and two bedrooms; one quirky small double which fits a double futon sofa bed (the double futon is a tight fit but has storage space too) and and a large double room which takes up the whole top floor with wardrobe space. We have a newly replaced bathroom with a deep bathtub and a separate large shower. Our apartment is accessed by going upstairs - these are old and spiral slightly so those who struggle with stairs might find them a bit tricky. Our property is original and quirky and we really hope you love it as much as us. The flat is above a commercial space which we also own. The ground floor is let to a couple that run a gin bar, which is open only at weekends. The capacity is only around 35 persons, so isn’t too lively. They occasionally have live music on Saturday evenings. Last orders are at 10-10:30pm though, so your sleep won't be disturbed in the top bedroom.
The apartment is 8 miles from the city of Derby, 10 mins from East Midlands airport and the M42 and strolling distance from Amalfi White (a popular restaurant, bar and wedding venue), the Bay Tree (an award winning restaurant) and 5 mins in a car to Donington Race Track. We are also a short drive from other attractions, such as National Trust Calke Abbey, Staunton Harold amongst other historical attractions. Melbourne itself hosts an array of events at the Melbourne Assembly Rooms and has Melbourne Hall and gardens which is open to visitors at certain times of the year. Melbourne has a range of independent shops, from interiors to clothes, pubs, bars, restaurants and historical sites - Thomas Cook was born here! For lazy breakfasts, Melbourne Deli is a couple of doors away and have everything from freshly baked bread to cheese, hams and sandwiches. We are also a walk from Tori and Ben's farm shop, voted in the top 20 farm shops in the UK where you can sit in or take away.
  • What an absolute gem! A beautiful home perfectly presented, which oozes character and charm! Centrally located in Melbourne with everything you need nearby. Jak and Jenna couldn’t of done enough to make us feel at home, what a brilliant weekend! We will definitely be using again.

    Kelly2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay for the weekend in a beautiful home. Bar underneath can be busy on weekends which you can hear in the flat however this wasnt an issue for us as it was quiet again by around 10pm. Jak was quick with responses and the whole booking went smoothly with no problems.

    Nicola2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Well equipped and located within easy reach of many areas of natural beauty. Jak’s place was lovely and cosy with a fuss-free self check-in. Loved relaxing in front of the wood burner after long dog walks. Would highly recommend.

  • A comfortable, well equiped and very clean place in the Middle of Melbourne.

    Rob2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a flat in a brilliant location. Melbourne has lots to offer and we loved the walking country right on the doorstep. Lots of pubs and eateries too as well as convenience and gift shops- a great place to potter. The flat itself was very stylish, clean and a lot more spacious than we were expecting. There was music coming from the bar downstairs for both nights we stayed but this wasn’t a problem as it wasn’t too loud at all and finished around 11 anyway. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for the weekend with added basics like butter, real coffee, milk and cooking oil. Only tiny thing we missed was somewhere for the four of us to sit and eat together ( there is a breakfast bar which seats 2 in the kitchen). Overall, a fabulous place to stay which we will be returning to!

  • A fantastic place to get away. Quite secluded but close to local amenities. The cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you need. Especially the extras such as tea, coffee etc and wine. Also the shampoo and shower gel which we always forget. The cottage has everything for a perfect cosy getaway and we even decided to book an extra night which Julie ensured went without a hitch. Also has added bonus of horses and dogs. Cannot recommend enough and will definitely be returning.

  • A warm, cosy room to match a warm welcome. I was just staying one night and so it was a quick visit, but the room was lovely. Very clean and with a ridiculously comfortable bed! There is tea and coffee facilities in the room and Lucy kindly offered fresh milk. It was a flying visit, but a pleasant one!

  • With a 7am start at Donington I didn't fancy a 4am start from home, so Lucy's place was the perfect solution. It's 9 minutes from the track, superbly comfortable and Lucy was great, good communication, easy to deal with, convenient. 5 Stars from me.

  • I only had a brief stay at Lucy's house, but was very pleased with how clean and well thought out the accommodation was. Lucy is a great host and is clearly very proud of her house and rightly so. She made sure I had everything I needed for a nice evening in, including nice fresh milk and the offer of some bottled water. I enjoyed trying to educate myself with up to date technology, watching my YouTube on the telly. We need a new TV now! I was up and out early and opened the curtains to the most beautiful sunrise. Altogether a great stay and would recommend to anyone. Thanks

The 'Outhouse' is a ground floor self contained studio which has been lovingly renovated and opened to our first guests in December 2019. Just a 2-3 minute walk from the centre of Melbourne, a beautiful georgian market town with a fabulous selection of pubs, cafes, restaurants & shops. The studio is divided into a shower room, kitchen with the living area and bedroom in one open plan space. The Outhouse sleeps 2 people in a double bed, with the benefit of air-con during the hot summer months.
The Outhouse is a compact space, with a fully equipped kitchen at one end. Facilities in the kitchen include a kettle, toaster, 4 ring ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge and crockery. Please note there is no dishwasher or washing machine in the Outhouse. In the living area there is a double sofa with a smart TV. There is underfloor heating throughout the studio, electric blackout velux blinds and air conditioning for when it is hot during the summer. There is currently no WIFI but we are hoping to have this up and running as soon as possible. Well behaved pets are more than welcome but please bring along their own bedding. Check in to the studio is from 3pm with access via a keysafe. There is ample on street parking on Penn Lane from where you access the studio.
Melbourne is a fabulous little town, with most things easily in walking distance. There is a lovely selection of cafes, pubs, restaurants and independant shops to have a wander around. A few minutes down the road is Melbourne Hall & Gardens and Melbourne Pool which are a great place for a stroll followed by some tea and cake at Melbourne Hall Tearooms.

It's warm inviting and cozy and the addition of tasty tea and chocolate biscuits ryally made us feel at home. There is a TV in the bedroom, kitchen and loungt so if you had kids it would be cool too. It's easy to get to and close to everything. Louise is a brilliant host and it was easy o.finf out everything we needed to know. The only downside...we wanted to stay longer!! Dave2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Louise’s home is incredibly stylish and comfortable. It feels cosy and somehow roomy at the same time. It was spotless and well equipped, and despite being such a conveniently short distance from the airport, wasn’t particularly loud in terms of air traffic. We had a wonderful 2-night stay, with evenings in front of a roaring log burner, and we left feeling happy and refreshed. Thanks for a welcoming and beautiful home to stay in, easy check-in and good communication Louise! We will be back!

Also available as a super king ( prices vary ) if that suits your requirements better. It has been recently renovated with it's own private en suite with shower and has very comfy beds. We are literally 5 minutes walk into the market town of Ashby. The room is fully furnished with beautiful views over the town, it's on the 3rd floor so please be aware of that when booking! I have 3 friendly dogs but they can be kept out the way if dogs are not your thing!
We are grade 11 listed here so the building is very unique and although we are very central to the town it is so quiet and relaxing. Please note that I can also change this room into 1 Super king bed. I have a separate listing for that so please check it out.
We are in the heart of the national forest and within a 10 minute drive from Conkers. We are only 10 minutes away from Hicks Lodge and their huge Cycle path area. Both historic and National trust properties Calke Abbey and Staunton Harold estates are also only 10 minutes drive too. We are 15 minutes from East midlands airport and also only 30 minutes from Birmingham airport. Also within a 30 minutes drive from Birmingham, Nottingham, Burton on Trent, Derby and Leicester.

The house is amazing, in a great location, only a few mintues walk into town. The room was spacious, light and airy; the bathroom clean and modern and the bed was comfortable. The best recommendation I can give is to say that we would definitely stay there again.

The apartment is located in a quiet courtyard just a few metres from Market Street, the main shopping street in the historic market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, the jewel in the crown of Leicestershire.
Awarded the Ashby Civic Society Design Award in 2016, this luxury first floor apartment, tastefully decorated, fully furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Ground Level - Entrance Hall. Level 1 - Fully fitted kitchen and dining area, spacious open plan living area with two sofa beds plus separate toilet. Level 2 - Bathroom with bath / shower, wash basin and toilet. Bedroom - king size bed and dressing table / desk. Outside - One off road parking space.
Ashby's town centre is compact and thriving, with shop after shop of independent traders, from clothing to jewellery to food and drink, you're spoiled for choice. There are a handful of chains here too, and a good selection of charity shops if you're feeling thrifty. The town's nightlife has been heralded as entertaining, diverse, safe and enjoyable. There are restaurants and takeaways, cocktail bars and nightclubs, micropubs and old fashioned drinking establishments too. Everywhere you turn in Ashby there's history and culture. The Ashby Castle ruins, which played a key strategic role in the English Civil War, were the backdrop for Sir Walter Scott's Ivanhoe and are the backdrop for regular re-enactment events nowadays. The Bath Grounds were once the destination for some of the first ever package tours and are still well worth a visit today while our timber-framed and Regency buildings are a testament to the town's flourishing past they're still very much lived in. Ashby is the beating heart of the National Forest. As a result the former coalfields that surround it are now green and verdant, full of nature reserves and walking spots.
  • Great location near to shops and restaurants

    Elizabeth2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Zane's place has truly everything you hope for when staying in a Airbnb. Home away from home and very comfortable. The house was amazingly clean and had everything that you could hope to have. The house is spread over two floors and is located one floor up from from the street level. It is accessed by a private door and up a private staircase. On the first floor you'll find a very well equipped kitchen, a WC, dining and living area with two couches which look to turn into beds and a TV. This whole area can be shut off from the stairs and hall area that lead up from the main entrance and then also lead upstairs to the main bedroom and full bathroom which has a bathtub. The bed is very comfortable and again the house is spotlessly clean. It was also a very quite house and I didn't notice any outside noise. The location is fantastic and is literally located just behind the high street and close to many restaurants. I was so happy with my choice to stay in Zane's place and my only regret is that I couldn't have stayed longer.

    David2020-02-04T00:00:00Z

  • Quite simply a gem of a place. Outstanding private accommodation in a well equipped, comfortable, spacious, converted Coach House. This is my second review as I extended my stay due to house renovations. So everything I wrote previously still stands. Exceptional hosts who take time to ensure your stay is perfect. Thanks to Stephen and Marion for their kind hospitality.

  • Exceptional, stylish, quality accommodation with thoughtful touches. The Coach House is private and peaceful in a character setting near to the village shop, a small cafe and a five minute walk to the pub. Very well equipped and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Also safe private parking right alongside the property. Stephen and Marion are delightful, kind and caring hosts. Swift communication to my enquiries. I have been so fortunate to stay in the Coach House for the duration of my house renovations. Simply first class in every respect. Grateful thanks to my hosts.

  • I stayed at the Coach House with my mother for several weeks while we were having building work done on our house. I cannot rate Stephen and Marion highly enough. The nicest and most accommodating hosts we've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They made us feel completely at home, were very helpful but were never intrusive. The house was larger than the pictures indicate , extremely clean and comfortable. There was everything we needed. The area was very quiet with a brilliant convenience store just a minutes walk away. Highly recommended! A beautiful house.

  • Great place to stay, well equipped kitchen, very comfy bed, very private and off street parking, TV signal a bit sporadic but being improved shortly, good WiFi, very nicely furnished & decorated, even a TV in bedroom, would stay again.
