NHS STAFF - KILMARNOCK AREA This lodge is only available for any NHS WORKER NEEDING TO SELF ISOLATE - free of charge Please message me on here or 07496717883 for more info Luxury lodge: The self catered unit has a kitchen with induction hob and oven and fridge / freezer and en-suite bathroom has a bath and shower. Super comfy King sized bed and sofa bed in an open plan space with underfloor heating throughout. Private deck and parking
Our newly renovated lodge is next to the farm house and in summer it overlooks our cows happily grazing in the field! As well as a hot tub the decking area has a fire pit. You will also have your own private entrance with parking. The king sized bed is a pocket sprung medium firmness mattress which hopefully accommodates most people. The sheets are cotton satin to give a luxurious feel - and most importantly, a good nights sleep! There is a 40inch TV in the lodge and Wifi too. Due to our location its not superfast but is sufficient for most activities. We can cater for babies / young children so if you need a high chair and travel cot please let us know. No additional people in the lodge for any duration of time without prior approval please. Dogs are welcome for an additional fee of £10/dog per night. We ask that they do not go on the furniture or in the bath / hot tub. Please bring your own dog bed and food with you. We have an online farm shop so we can provide you with our home grown eggs, beef, lamb and pork as either breakfast packs, BBQ packs for the summer nights or individual meat cuts and pies. We can also supply home made cakes to order. We are close to a number of activities which you may want to enjoy; Loudoun Golf Club, Arranview Fisheries, Newmilns dry Ski Slope, Whitelees Wind Farm and various wedding venues. Galston is a short car drive away and as well as supermarkets, it has a number of take aways and other locally run shops and services. For those travelling from Further afield, Glasgow centre, Glasgow airport and Prestwick Airport are approximately 30 minutes away, Troon beach is 20 minutes and Mauchline is 15 minutes. Please be aware that we have neighbours so ask guests to respect that and it is a working farm so sometimes you will hear farm machinery / animals! To get to us you will need to drive up our farm track. This is 330m and like most farm tracks whilst we devote a lot of time to its upkeep there may be a few potholes! The hot tub, underfloor heating and hot water are all generated by biomass, a renewable energy source which powers the farms hot water too. Where possible we have used recycled and sustainably sourced materials throughout the build. We have also used as much recycled furniture as possible to keep its carbon footprint to a minimum. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us for more information Thank you for taking the time to read our profile!

  • great little get away.

    Aaron2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Hazels Lodge was beautiful, clean and the perfect place for a romantic and relaxing getaway. The hot tub was fantastic and it’s great how it is built into the floor so doesn’t require awkward and cold attempts at getting in and out. The lodge itself is beautifully designed and has a homely and cosy feel. Slight small touches missed but nothing major as it didn’t impact our overall stay. Hopefully we can return again soon!

  • The Cabin at Mauchline was a great place to stay. It was spacious, comfortable and well equipped for the two of us, plus our little dog, with stylish touches. We were warm and cosy despite the snowy weather, we loved the log burner as well as the central heating! Christine was a lovely host and we appreciated her generous welcome touches. We would be happy to recommend this accommodation and hope to return in future.

Helped us book taxis, helped us with information about the local amenities and even helped defrost my car. The breakfast was fab, company was great and Mac (the westie) was the icing on the cake. Could not recommend more, would definitely go back.

My flat is on the first floor of a traditional Scottish terraced building. It has a spacious double bedroom with en-suite shower, an open space lounge with a fitted kitchen and a separate toilet room with hand wash basin and washing machine. The kitchen contains everything you need: fridge, cooker, microwave etc. Crockery and pots and pans are for you to use. Bedding and towels are provided, central heating is included in the price. The flat is close to the shops, pubs and take aways.
The flat is situated in the Irvine Valley town of Darvel, the birthplace of Sir Alexander Fleming. It's on the A71 a main road between Irvine and Edinburgh. It's quite busy during the day , but quiet at night time. The bedroom is at the back of the building overlooking the garden and countryside, so it's very quiet. The windows are double glazed. It's close to the shops and there is a bus stop right at the front of the door which takes you to Kilmarnock, the next bigger town. The bus leaves every 15 minutes.
The Irvine Valley is a part of the green rolling hills in Ayrshire. The little town used to live on lace factories, but the industry died down in the 60s. Only a few factories are left. Nowadays the people have to commute elsewhere to get to work, but the people living here keep the towns nice. The area is very rural apart from the main street and there are miles and miles of beautiful country walks. There is the Lanfine estate between Darvel and Newmilns and it's a beautiful park that you're allowed to walk through or you can walk along the River Irvine. The people here are very friendly and chatty and helpful. An important feature is the Loudon Hill, an ancient volcano core that played a part in battles for Scottish independence with William Wallace (Braveheart!) and Robert the Bruce. Darvel has a Music Festival of very good reputation. See link: https://www.darvelmusiccompany.com/ Newmilns has an excellent Food Festival in September. See link: http://newmilnsfestivalweekend.co.uk/
  • Everything is there for your stay , even a washing machine and a really big flat

  • All good! Place is clean. Very comfortable. Close to all amenities. There's a co-op less than 50m away and there are plenty of takeaways also in easy walking distance. There's a bus stop outside and buses to Kilmarnock run every 15 minutes during the day! Easy drive too to attractions throughout Ayrshire and Glasgow isn't too far either!

From the well thought out welcome pack which gives you every hint and tip you desire including useful places to visit! To the comfy beds after all the hiking and sight seeing, the gorgeous kitchen and it’s facilities, the outdoor area which will suit all weather types we visited in winter and made full use of the fire pit with toasted marshmallows! The TVs in the rooms were enjoyed by all whether for YouTube, Netflix or dvds (abundance of variety available) my favourite were the Bluetooth speakers in the gorgeous bathroom! The gorgeous dining table and the roaring fire, it was the most lovely getaway and we will be returning the thought that has gone into the property really puts it top of our list of cottages we have visited can’t wait to come back! We made so many memories on our trip to Scotland but the foundation for all of these was this amazing accommodation a must visit!!

  • Absolutely perfect! Me and my boyfriend stayed for a week with our dogs and it was amazing. The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed to make our stay relaxing. The location was fantastic and within easy reach of everything. David and Isabella have been lovely and very helpful in suggestions as to where to eat over Christmas. We especially love how dog friendly the place is, dog beds, treats, towels and bowls for them which is beyond amazing (Aaaand the huge garden!) If you’re someone who is usually put off by places being dog friendly, don’t be! The cottage was perfectly clean and not a bit of dog hair in sight, so definitely don’t miss out on the cottage! Thank you again, we’ve had a perfect Christmas and would love to return.

  • This cottage is a true gem! Spotless, fully equipped and very comfortable. We used the downstairs bedroom as, being seniors, we like the one floor living. However, the upstairs bedroom was equally lovely. The location is quiet and beautifully scenic. Hosts were very helpful and Crusty even baked us a cake for our arrival. A delightful touch!

Our family home is situated on top of a valley, overlooking the lush green countryside and the quaint little village of Darvel. The views stretch down the Irvine Valley all the way to the sea. We are in the perfect location to take in the historic site of Loudoun Hill and learn about our local hero, Sir Alexander Fleming. There are many walking paths & cycle routes in the vicinity, and a number of famous golf (or 'gowf') courses just a short drive away (including Turnberry & Royal Troon).
We lovingly named our home 'Danbrae' after our family pet, Sam, a Golden Retriever. We live in and maintain the property ourselves. Guests have a double bedroom with a king-size bed, private bathroom with shower and large corner bath. Onsite parking is available.
The house is on a quiet street and overlooks the village of Darvel below. Over 200 years old, Darvel is a historic town in Ayrshire. There is a heritage museum, a telephone museum, library, sports centre, skate park, recreational/play park, football park, and a dry ski slope in the neighbouring town of Newmilns. Historic points of interest include the Lace Industry and Sir Alexander Fleming (discoverer of penicillin) who was born at Lochfield Farm on the outskirts of Darvel. The most famous landmark is Loudoun Hill, where Robert the Bruce led a guerrilla army here in 1307, defeating the English. You can walk around the perimeter and also climb to the top for the best views of the Irvine Valley all the way to the sea. There is a 7 ft statue of William Wallace at the base of Loudoun Hill - it's a photo opportunity! Additionally, there are many local walking paths and cycle tracks, as well as the stunning Lanfine Estate. A private estate that is popular with the locals. • Absolutely beautiful place with great amenities, cozy and comfortable, big modern kitchen and wonderful lounge area. We enjoyed our week in the house very much and recommend it strongly. Hazel gave us a very lovely welcome. Since it is a bit remote, a car comes in handy.

I live in a one and half storey end terrace cottage. The decoration is modern light and airy with an open fire in the room. Parking off road is available at the gable end of the cottage with access to a large garden that backs onto steep wooded area.
  • Exactly what we expected inasmuch as the closeness to the castle and all that we wanted fir the night before and after the wedding. Janet was so kind to offer to drive us to the wedding and pick us up after. We had lots of good wee chats to Janet and she’s a wonderful hostess

  • Janet is a wonderful host. Her place is lovely, full of thoughtful touches and I couldn't recommend a better place to stay in Sorn. She even drove us to Sorn Castle for the wedding party we were here to attend. Highly recommend!

  • We were attending a wedding at Sorn Castle and found this listing - only a 9 minute walk from the castle itself! It was very clean and comfortable, we slept very well. The shower was also great! Nice to be able to park the car on location. Janet is a lovely person and we enjoyed chatting to her even for the short while we were around before we had to head to the wedding! We highly recommend staying here!

  • Great cottage - we stayed there as a family and lots of space in the house and outdoors for our toddler to roam around. Communication and check in/out was easy.

  • Our stay at Brewer’s Cottage over the New Year period was amazing - the cottage exceeded my expectations as I feel like the photos on Airbnb do not do the place justice! George and Amanda are lovely and very welcoming hosts and I cannot recommend this property enough and I will definitely be back one day. A very quiet location which is perfect for a getaway.

    Hollie2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • George and Amanda’s cottage was an ideal place to spend Christmas. The cottage itself was spacious, clean, and very homely! Lovely touches including Christmas decorations and a welcome basket which were greatly appreciated. We had everything we needed! The hosts were great at communicating throughout our stay and we were shown around by the lovely Ashe who made us feel very welcome. Our favourites were the hot tub and the fire place which were used regularly! The garden area itself was beautiful and great for spotting lots of different types of birds and wildlife. The town of Mauchline was a short drive away which was handy for picking up anything we needed! We would definitely recommend the Brewer’s Cottage for anyone needing a relaxing break outside of the city!

The food is the best ever for not only did we have the traditional Scottish breakfast, we were greeted with tea and homemade pancakes on the evening that we arrived. The beds were comfy and clean, bathroom and shower clean and functional, kitchen adequate for our basic needs and the lounge / diner was comfortable to relax in before and after work. The Heights bar on site was definitely worth a visit with cheap drinks and excellent food. A lovely bolt hole for work, thank you.

Adrienne was just great and met us on arrival with tips and hints for the local and wider area. There were lots of really nice personal touches in the cottage. • The cottage has a lot more space than the photos suggest! Was absolutely perfect for us! At no point did we need anything that the cottage didn’t already have. A great location and so easy to get to so many places, we attended the races in Ayr which was a short drive and it’s close enough to Glasgow for shopping.

  • Absolutely lovely little cottage we all enjoyed the stay as a family kids and adults. Nothing is too far out beach and shops are a short drive and Glasgow is only half an hour away. Plenty of space for all of us it was home to home

  • Great space and lovely location next to fields and a small village outside of Kilmarnock. Only a short drive to Kilmarnock town centre or to local towns and sightseeing spots. Cottage was a great space, very clean and was perfect for our family of 2 adults 2 kids. It is well maintained and Dionne was a very welcoming host who responded to all of our queries, standard and non-standard, very quickly and helpfully. We'll definitely stay here again.

It was spotlessly clean and we had everything we needed. Aly herself was the perfect host and her family were friendly and helpful, We didn't want to leave! Boswell's coach house restaurant is about 10 seconds walk and we had scrumptious lunches and breakfasts before and after our wedding day. Excellent from beginning to end.

  • This B and B is quite literally in the middle of nowhere, but that’s not a bad thing in any way. It was handy for my needs I was going to a wedding at nearby Dumfries House and a taxi cost a tenner from here. The house is part of a working farm but I didn’t hear a thing during my stay, the bed was comfy and the shower was good. The breakfast was perfect and Moira was attentive and lovely. This place did exactly what it said on the tin and if I was in the area again I would 100% stay here again.

    David2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay with a lovely host and a great breakfast - thank you!

    Susanne2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed warmly by Moira as soon as we arrived, and shown to a spotlessly clean room. We had the room with separate bathroom, (although there was a toilet next door , and a basin in the bedroom). The breakfast was delicious - cooked breakfast, whatever we wanted, and served in the pleasant, bright dining room. Perfectly located a couple of miles away from Dumfries House, a home from home - nothing was too much trouble for cheerful Moira!

    Martha2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely brilliant stay.. Moira is all friendliness, hospitality and helpfulness. Food was delicious - especially the porridge with fresh fruit. When my plans changed Moira was gracious and flexible. Highly recommended.

  • Great Experience

    Ali2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, I feel we got so lucky by finding this place. Everything was way above our expectations. Our room was beautiful and pristinely clean. Breakfast was amazing, we got to try Scottish specialties and Moira was very accommodating. Moira’s husband gave us a tour of the farm and answered many questions we had about farming and his experience. Kids had so much fun playing in the backyard, out in the field and interacting with calves. The farm is so hi-tech, I had no idea this much automation was even possible. Very educational and fascinating! We definitely hope to be back some day.
