Total isolation away from the rigours of the world at the moment!! with magnificent views over rolling fields out to the Atlantic ocean our cottage offers a chance to explore the wild wonderful coast of North Cornwall at its best!
Our cottage was featured in the National Guardian Top Ten Cool Cottages in North Cornwall 2014 !! We offer rustic simplicity! It has a seperate snug with TV and DVD. A large vaulted bedroom, and kitchen /dining/ seating room with log burner and views out to the Atlantic ocean.
Breathtaking cliff top walks, wander across beautiful beaches, come home to a roaring log fire, cozy up and watch a classic movie with a glass of wine!
  • Absolutely beautiful, the cottage was perfectly peaceful with breath taking views. Amazing walks and scenery near by. Sitting with a hot chocolate infront of the log fire in the cosy cottage was just amazing. I will 100% be returning, Caroline was lovely and so very helpful.

  • Perfect. We spent a cosy few days here, reading in front of the fire and cooking delicious meals in a very well equipped kitchen! Much more spacious than I expected and with lots of lovely touches like soup on arrival! Caroline’s place is lovely, as is she. We will be back!

    Courtney2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, thanks!

  • Caroline’s place was absolutely fantastic. Even though we were in the midst of Storm Denis we felt extremely comfortable and had an amazing time. Caroline was so lovely and helpful and the soup and bread was such a personal touch and it was fantastic. We would definitely come again!

    Esther2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely gorgeous place to stay for a break away from it all. We were staying during Storm Dennis and I can’t think of a cosier place to hunker down - thick stone walls and a roaring fire.. very cosy! We loved going for coffee and cake at the nearby Boscastle Farm Shop followed by a blustery walk along the cliffs. Stunning. Caroline is a wonderful host. Hope we can come back one day.

    Gillian2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice cottage in a lovely spot, weather was pretty rough but it was very cosy , will visit again !

    Robert2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay at Caroline's, lots of nice touches which made it extra special during a huge storm. We would absolutely recommend staying here for a visit to Cornwall. Thanks again for the delicious soup and bread!

Escape to the beautiful wilderness of the North Cornish coast, close to Port Isaac & Polzeath. Stay in a handcrafted shepherd's hut with curved ash beams & Salamander wood burner on a converted railway line. Relax in your own private hot tub with only the local cows for company. Or explore the nearby woods, go swimming, fishing & boating on the magical freshwater lake. A perfect break for couples or a solo traveller wanting to unwind. For updates check "Free Range Escapes" on social media
The shepherd's hut is based at Cornish Tipi Holidays/Weddings also known as Tregildrans Quarry and this is our beautiful second hut at this unique site. Both huts have their own individual character, the biggest difference is that Bluebell hut has its own wood fired couples hot tub - perfect for relaxing in style in the great outdoors. The site has a woodland valley folded around a clear, spring-fed lake created from the old quarry. The hut is at the top of a secret 20 acres clothed in ferns and bluebells, oak and meadowsweet. Undisturbed by modern agrochemicals and herbicides the natural ecosystem has flourished, providing a thriving habitat for flowers and butterflies, birds and mammals. It’s a place a world apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about in a boat. The Shepherd's Hut itself is situated in a recently reclaimed part of the site on the old railway line which was taken out in the 60's, reclaimed by nature until now! Guests will have full access to the whole site & all its faculties. 20 acres of woodland to explore and a freshwater lake to swim, boat and fish in. As well as your own secluded garden space complete with an open fire and garden furniture & couples wood fired hot tub. The shepherds hut has its own private compositing loo and wooden shower shed (made partly from pallets) both outside. You are of course allowed full access to any of the other loo/shower blocks on site. There is also electricity!! Solar powered lights & USB sockets make it easy to charge items or read a book after the sun goes down. However please be aware that there are not any standard plug sockets in the hut. The aim is to have created a space which makes you feel like you are out in nature & the elements but with more comfort than basic camping.
At Free Range Escapes you are a five minute drive from some of the prettiest villages and most spectacular coastline in Cornwall. You can buy fresh mackerel, scallops and crab in the fish cellars at Port Isaac within 10 minutes of leaving your Shepherd's Hut, go sea kayaking under soaring cliffs at Port Quin or take a surfing class on Polzeath’s trend setting shoreline. We have some phenomenal walking right on our doorstep; the Cornwall Coastal Footpath, the Saints’ Way, but unfortunately a car is still usually needed to get you there. 15 minutes up the coast brings you to Tintagel Castle and the ancient village of Boscastle, and the same distance inland lets you walk the rugged solitude of Bodmin Moor. We have a variety of good shops, pubs and restaurants in the area including the now nationally famous Seafood Restaurant in Padstow – book a return with the late water taxi across the moonlit estuary from Rock for a special evening out. You can go on fishing trips, bird watching walks, sea safaris, sailing and windsurfing courses, learn to ride, golf, play tennis, see a touring theatre production, work in watercolours, take a master class in seafood cookery, explore Cornish history, attend a music or literary festival, or just go cycling together on the beaufiful Camel Trail nearby. If you’re prepared to go a little further afield try a day trip by tiny plane to the glorious Isles of Scilly off Land’s End, or a trip to the Minack Theatre set outside on the cliffs high above Porthcurno, or closer by visit the massive biodomes of the ever popular Eden Project.
  • The best get-away from London we've ever had. Absolutely perfect.

    Lorian2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Romatic and spectacular.

    Owain2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Beautiful place to get away from it all. Loved the wood burning hot tub.

    Ben2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a wildness escape with a bit of pampering thrown in this is the place for you. We loved every second in Gosels hut, the hot tub was the highlight of our stay in the area. All the towns are around a 5 min drive away and it’s super easy to navigate the small Cornish roads. Defiantly recommend getting the ferry from Rock to Padstow and St Kew Inn (both recommendations from Gosel to us). Don’t forget your wellies! We will defiantly be back!

    Megan2019-11-27T00:00:00Z

Dragonfly Cabin is positioned next to our home overlooking the peaceful wooded valley just a short walk from the river and St Nectan's Glen waterfall We are just 2 miles from King Arthur's Tintagel and the harbour village of Boscastle. Rocky Valley towards the sea and Bossiney Cove (ideal beach for swimming) are just 30 minutes walk away and you can't leave without having a drink at The Port William, Trebarwith Strand with it's sea views Also nearby is Port Isaac, Rock, Bude and Bodmin moor.
Dragonfly cabin can be found up a quiet lane leading to just four properties. It is a cosy dwelling lined with pine tongue and groove over celotex insulation. and is fully self contained with a shower and toilet and a small kitchenette too with mini oven, hob, fridge and sink. There is a double bed with a quality mattress and a 20" tv with freeview and wifi. Outside is a decked balcony where you can sit and enjoy a quiet drink.
Tintagel is known for it's links with King Arthur. Port Isaac is where the tv drama Doc Martin is filmed.
  • What a lovely stay we had. Directions were spot on and we were amazed to see how lovely the place was inside and out. Perfect for a little get away. The weather might have been not as dry as hoped but that did not ruin our stay.

    Matt2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A truly wonderful spot. A few minutes walk from the fabulous St Nectan’s waterfalls. The cabin itself is warm and welcoming - huge windows bring the gardens and birdsong straight in. As ever Wes and Jeannie are warm and welcoming. We’ve done at lot of AirBnB’ing and this is one of the top stays there is.

    John2020-03-09T00:00:00Z

  • Amazing! Dragonfly cabin was the perfect location to get away from it all ... peace and quiet in a tranquil setting. We had a lovely 2 night stay! Wes and Jeannie were welcoming friendly and communication was excellent from time of booking until we left. The cabin was very clean...decor was lovely! The cabin has everything you need for a break away! The view from cabin is lovely to wake up to and we saw a squirrel, and a aray of birds...from blue tits to jays and woodpeckers. St Nectans Glen is a must, the waterfalls are breathtaking... just up through the woods and it has a lovely café. We also visited rocky valley which is absolutely amazing!!! Very dramatic! We made a picnic and had a great day exploring! There's a cute tiny church and St Pirans Well just as you take the lane up to the cabin. Dragonfly cabin is a perfect location to visit Tintagel and Boscastle infact it's a great place to visit the whole of Cornwall. We would definitely recommend and we would love to return!!! Thank you so much for a lovely stay ...we have left with lots of lovely memories!!! X

NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE WITH MOBILITY/FITNESS ISSUES From Old Road through garden to self contained unit within our cottage. 2 minute walk to harbour and village. Kitchen/sitting room with electric woodburner. Spiral staircase leading to bedroom with ensuite loo/shower (macerater). A quiet and peaceful little pad set back from the village, just the sound of the Jordan river below, the owls in the wood opposite will serenade you at night and the song birds will be singing away in the morning
PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE A LOT OF STEEP, IRREGULAR, WOBBLY SOMETIMES SLIPPERY STEPS FROM THE ROAD TO THE DOOR. ANYONE WITH SIGHT AND OR MOBILITY ISSUES MAY FIND THESE TOO DIFFICULT. THE PATH IS DARK AT NIGHT AND IN WINTER. INSIDE (WHICH WE HAVE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS) IS A SPIRAL STAIRCASE WHICH AGAIN IS NARROW AND NOT IDEAL FOR EVERYONE. However! Tastefully and lovingly converted first two floors of our 250 year old cottage. A perfect bolthole to give guests private and cosy accommodation to relax in after a hard day on the beach or wandering around the harbour. . The en suite shower cubicle is a good, standard size, the shower room/area itself is rather 'compact' and due to this the basin is tiny (!) its the only one we could get to fit and only really big enough for tooth brushing and hand washing but thats about it. We sometimes use the steps past the entrance door ourselves to get to and from the village but we do our absolute best to respect guests privacy. PLEASE NOTE due to our location (you'll see why when you get here) there is no radio or TV signal (believe me we have tried) so bring a laptop as the WiFi is excellent! Most guests appreciate the peace and quiet. Please note check out is strictly 10am.
Boscastle is very friendly and great fun. Pretty much zero crime. The beautiful coastal footpath that goes right around the Cornish coast is on the doorstep. In winter walking across a wild, windswept, deserted Cornish beach is one of the best things in the world to do, likewise when the sun shines, the temperature rises and the water is sparkling clear, its heaven. A stroll round the harbour is a must, see the famous blowhole, beautiful sea birds, the fishing boats going in and out on the tide and more often than not the seals put in an appearance too!
  • Wonderful secluded home to relax and explore locally. Spotlessly clean and quiet. Three pubs in walking distance as is the harbour.

    Nick2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in fabulous location

    Frances2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for Boscastle, pubs, cafes and local walks. Bedroom is very warm and cosy after spending a day outside in the elements. Very clean and accurately described.

    Peter2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we booked, Sacha was quick to answer any questions we had, especially with recommendations for dinner during the winter season. The place is wonderful - tucked away in a gorgeous, quiet location with its own private entrance. This is attached to the main property but you wouldn't have realised. Sacha & her husband made sure we were completely comfortable; popping by and introducing themselves when we arrived but other than that we were left to our own devices, which was perfect. The inside of the property was beautiful- an electric heater downstairs kept us nice and warm, and the unique design was not only very intuitively designed, but looked great tasteful. I would definitely recommend staying here, and would love to come back!

    Euan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place.. Sacha is very helpful. Thank you

    Tara2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you a great stay. We really fell in love with Boscastle and couldn’t have wished for a more pleasant and relaxing stay. The cottage is full of charm and character and in a perfect location for us, wanting to explore and take in all the village had to offer. Hope to visit again in the summertime!

    Jack2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect hideaway a short walk up a hill from the very heart of Boscastle. Absolutely ideal couples retreat with everything you could possibly need.

    Laura2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in this simple and cozy maisonette. Great location for coastal walks and pubs. Ideal quiet getaway for couples.

  • Had a great stay in the Shepherds hut, everything was great from comms with Gosel to the actual stay. Loved the hot tub and how cosy the hut was even in horrendous weather. Highly recommend this stay!

    Richard2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great little private space for us to get away. Loved boating on the lake, and sitting in the hot tub in gale force winds! Thanks to Gosel for all the local tips too. See you again!

    Paul2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Magnificent, magical, marvellous... All the M's. Words can't describe how much my husband and I loved our time away in Elderflower. Gosel, the hut, the land, the lake, the location; it all exceeded our expectations. We will most certainly be back - as soon as humanly possible. You must stay here!

    Rebecca2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay on Valentine’s weekend. The location is perfect, with plenty of things to do around the area. We didn’t have a chance to use the lake due to the weather, however, the hot tub was an excellent addition. The home was cosy, warm and clean. We will definitely be visiting again.

    Owen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at the Shepherd’s hut! Excellent location and friendly host! Would highly recommend!

    Jamie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Gosel for being such a great host. The Elderflower hut at Free Range Escapes was idyllic and had everything we could possibly need for our New Years break. The hot tub was a great extra, which was lovely at night under the stars. The private lake with rowing boats and canoes was so much fun. The local area had great fishing villages to go and explore during the day, and then to come back to a log burner and a comfy bed was the perfect end to a perfect stay. We will definitely be back to stay again. Thanks Gosel!

    Hannah2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is amazing! Absolutely stunning location and really homely and cosy inside! Gosel is a fantastic host All the little extra touches make this place so special! Will definitely be coming back when the weather is a bit nicer!

The Cherry Lodge with wood-burning hot tub, large balcony and private garden area. Two bedrooms with family bathroom. Central heating with fully integrated kitchen and dishwasher. All you could need for a self-catering holiday including TV, DVD, WII Console, books and games, wood, bedding and towels. Parking in front of lodge. There is a shop/post office 2 miles from the park which seems to sell most things. Down at the beach there is a lovely pub which does good food, sometimes had live music and quiz nights. The two cafe are very good too and sell lovely ice-creams. Supermarkets can be found in Bude and Camelford. It is possible to have supermarket deliveries too.
  • Absolutely wonderful site, the lodge we stayed in had everything to offer and was such a lovely place to stay I would highly recommend, the log burning hot tub is simply amazing once you have mastered it. The site is in an amazing location and there is so much to offer around the area.

  • Such a warm welcome from Cathy which was a wonderful start to our holiday. It was a special holiday for us celebrating mine and my daughters 4th birthday and our stay exceeded our expectations. Any queries we had were dealt with within minutes and Cathy gave us some great tips of local points of interest. The hot tub and cabin were perfect for our little family; there was even children's toys in the cabin and the park on site was a fantastic addition. We would definitely reccomend to others and would like to visit again.

    Hilary2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely friendly and private location. Very welcoming and great facilities. It's about 40 minute walk to a beautiful pebble beach with a great pub and good food. The accommodation is extremely clean and homely. There is a park for young families as well as a games toom with a pool table, table football and table tennis. The hot tub was great!

    Anna2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, plenty of places to visit within 20-30 minutes drive. The walk to the beach was great and the kids enjoyed following the directions! Having the hot tub to relax in during the evenings after lots of exploring was a positive for sure! Would definitely stay again!!

    Jamie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Cathy’s place for 3 days and we enjoyed every second. The location was very straight forward to find with gps and we were greeted with a warm welcome upon arrival. Plenty of guidance was provided on the local area, the hot tub and using the appliances. Be sure to head down to the coast using the step by step picture guide that is located in the guidebook!

    Bolu2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quiet retreat right in the sticks, if you like peace and quiet this is the place to go! Bude is only a 20 minute drive with plenty to do, supermarkets and beaches. Great couple of days away, and very relaxed!

  • Wow!! What a super house. Was perfect for our group. Iain was really friendly and made everything very easy for us.

  • This house is stunning, the pictures on here are lovely but they cannot do it justice with the amazing modern and spacious rooms. We had all 3 rentals and they were all 5 star. There was 15 of us in total and we all said how amazing the house is and no one wanted to leave. So much room no one was on top of each other. We were there for my partners 40th and I brought a cake but forgot the candles! I didn’t need to worry though as there were brand new candles in the drawer (saved the day, can’t have a birthday cake without a wish). The house had everything you could need and more. It was spotlessly clean throughout. It had the latest music system and great underfloor heating. Which in February we needed lol. Iain was very friendly and informative and it was great how we could access it earlier. Rachael was very quick to reply to my questions and an excellent host. The location is stunning it is rural with lovely views over fields. We had some food in Wadebridge and then got taxis’s back to the house. It was a very a short journey. Polzeath is also only a short drive which has a stunning beach. The book of the journey to build the house was fascinating and it truly is a Grand Design. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and hopefully will return in the future.

  • Beautiful place, clean and spacious. We had a fabulous time celebrating my mum's 60th birthday and managed to entertain lots of guests with no issues of running short on plates, glasses or space! Thank you

  • Would highly recommend Rachael’s place for large groups. The house is incredible, so much space and the perfect location. Iain was always on hand and was so accommodating. Would definitely book here again :) thank you for having us.

  • We had a fantastic time staying at Tresweden. The house was perfect for what we were looking for, very clean and good facilities. Great location, as it easy to get to Wadebridge, Padstow and Polzeath. Fab hosts too, they couldn’t have made it easier for us. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a lovely place to stay in Cornwall.

My place, a perfect base for exploring North Cornwall just off the A39 is close to Bodmin Moor, the Camel Trail for cycling, the North Devon and Cornwall sections of the South West Coastal Path for hiking and Surfing Beaches like Polzeath and Bude. Easy access to famous locations from television like Port Isaac and Jamaica Inn. There are loads of amazing small farm shops and tea rooms as well as larger destinations like Padstow near by with Rick Steins fish and chips.
The accommodation comprises one double bedroom, a lounge/dinner with freeview television and wifi. A fully equipped newly fitted kitchen with dishwasher. A brand new shower room with underfloor heating. The garden is large and enclosed with patio table and chairs. There is a driveway for off road parking and access to our field for guests with dogs. Also free eggs from our pet chickens (as pictured), and a cream tea on arrival, with enough milk, sugar and teabags to get you started. You'll love my place because of the amazing views up to Rough Tor, the easy access to the whole of North Cornwall and the enclosed garden suitable for dogs. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets).
The immediate neighbourhood is a small hamlet of around 10 houses and farms, and although the A39 runs through it, the area is very rural and surrounded be fields. Davidstow with its famous creamery is one mile to the east and Camelford with its free parking, shops, pubs and petrol station three miles to the west. Rough Tor is five miles away, the turning is on the left on the way to Camelford, Hilltop Cafe/Farm shop is two miles away, the turning is on the right on the way to Camelford.

  • Ashley's little cottage has everything you could need for a your stay and is excellent value for money. Lovely and clean and the bed is super comfy! Nice and warm on a cold day with the ability to control the thermostat. Enclosed garden is ideal for dogs and would be a lovely place to sit on a nice day! Lots of towels and loo roll provided, as well as washing up liquid, cooking oil, teabags (we bought our own but needn't have!) and even scones and jam! Couldn't ask for more. Five minute drive to a local town with a few pubs/restaurants (recommend the pub grub at the Masons Arms!), nice little river walk, Spar shop if you've forgotten anything. We plan to return to Hilltop Cottage at the same time next year!

    Jay2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really well located little hideaway with a cosy feel and all amenities on hand. We had a lovely welcome with scones and jam and cream and Ashley adds those extra touches that make this a special place to be.

    Clare2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect cosy space. Cream tea on arrival is incredibly thoughtful. The biggest scones I've ever eaten! The kitchen was equipped with absolutely everything you could need. The garden is a great big space for the dogs. Only a short drive to the moors where they had the most incredible walks. Bed was super comfortable. Thank you Ashley will definitely be back. Xx

  • Lovely house in the middle of the conrish countryside. Easy to find. Heating system and hot water awesome, a pleasure arriving home after driving around alk day in winter. Located in a strategic zone to explore the entire Cornwall as well as Devon. Stunning cookies at arriving and thanks for letting us check in earlier than 4pm just to arrive home with light. 100% recommended.

Pet friendly Primrose Cottage has been our home for 17 years - a cosy, quaint quarry miners cottage which is approx 250 years old. Exposed beams and floor boards, age old Delabole slate floors downstairs with large fireplace and woodburner, set the scene for your stay. We love the fact that our guests always seem to feel completely relaxed and at home during their stay in our cottage. We happily welcome well behaved pets who promise to take note of our house rules (max 2)
The cottage is in a tucked away location in our working village - giving it a feel of tranquility and peace. The cottage is set back off the road, so there is no passing traffic. There is ample free parking a few minutes walk from the cottage We have a few good walks from our doorstep, to keep your pets happy Instagram : primrosecottage25 The cottage is at the end of a small terrace in the quiet and picturesque part of Delabole, known as Pengelly. It is steeped in interesting history, linked to Delabole Slate Quarry. In fact, our ground level floors are age old chunky Delabole Slate slabs- so we recommend you pack your slippers in your bag We love the fact that we are not very far from : Tintagel - with its castle and mystic legends associated with King Arthur and the new bridge joining Mainland to island which is now open Port Isaac - home of the Fishermans Friends and of course, Doc Martin! Boscastle - with its natural working harbour and Witchcraft Museum Padstow - scenic harbour, sea trips, and of course Rick Stein! The cottage is a perfect base for many of North Corwalls sandy beaches - Polzeath, Trebarwith Strand, Daymer Bay, Rock - to name a few. We are ideally situated for walkers to enjoy the South West Coastal Path and would love to share any information you require on the different sections of this spectacular route The Camel Trail cycle path runs from Padstow to Bodmin. Wadebridge has plenty of parking and can be used as a base to cycle in either direction. Wadebridge Town has a good selection of cafes and individual and unique shops. There are also a few different points to access the Camel Cycle Trail within easy drive from the cottage, without the need of going into a town. We can supply details/directions if you wish Walkers and cyclists - Cardinham Woods near Bodmin is a great day out. They have Picnic and bbq facilities and a lovely cafe that aside from good food, serves a mean hot chocolate. Always advisable to get there early as it does get busy Garden lovers - we are close enough for a day out to Lanhydrock, the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trelissick - the list goes on.
There is a Spar shop and local pub within easy walking distance from the cottage - great for every day essentials and tasty pub meals. We have a Post Office van which visits the village 2 or 3 days a week Nearby Camelford has a butchery, chemist, Co-op and Leisure Centre which opens its facilities to visitors
  • Excellent place to stay with my family during 4 days. Very cozy cottage totally recommended.

  • We had a wonderful stay. Dale was fantastic and great with communication and responding to messages. The cottage is wonderful, we loved our stay. Dale was very thoughtful and even left us some nice shortbread, a dog bowl and towel for the dog! Thank you. We definitely would like to be back!

    Rachel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet little cottage, very comfortable and very clean - home from home - everything you need. Easy self check in and very good comms from owner Dale. You can't park outside the cottage as it is quite tucked away but plenty of parking everywhere so not a problem. Perfect location for exploring Tintagel, Port Isaac, Boscastle etc.

    Naomi2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous vintage cottage in a fantastic location for seeing some of Cornwall’s best sights- Tintagel and Boscastle just a short drive or walk away. Plus a local shop and a pub- it was really “getting away from it all” but with comforts close at hand; don’t bother packing too much as you won’t need it. Host Dale could not have been more helpful in terms of letting us know details about the property and even recommending some great pubs and restaurants. We had a very cozy and comfortable 3 night stay with our little dog. We all absolutely loved it!

    Blair2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Really friendly host and cost cottage that has everything you need

    Rebecca2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

Kovva Cabin is a cosy, stylish retreat with private garden just a few miles from the sea in north Cornwall close to Port Isaac and Polzeath. Keep toasty warm by the log burner or enjoy summer evenings toasting marshmallows over the firepit. A few treats will be here to welcome you after your journey. Take a look at our Kovva Cabin Guidebook for ideas of what to do during your stay - click on 'Show guidebook' under the 'Neighbourhood' section of this listing. Find us on Instagram @kovva_cabin
Kovva Cabin is a small but perfectly formed hideaway for two in the Cornish countryside. Situated on the edge of the village you'll be greeted by views across fields to the moors in the distance. A studio set up, the cabin features a living space with sofa, smart TV with direct access to Netflix and Amazon Prime as well as on demand service from the BBC etc., dining furniture, built-in wardrobe, gas central heating and a wood burning stove. There's a Google smart speaker on the wall for music, help and advice. Large windows look out into the garden. The mezzanine bedroom is accessed via a staircase where a comfy kingsize Caspar mattress and pure linen bed sheets should help you enjoy the quiet nights. A Velux roof window looks up into the tree canopy and has a blackout blind. Handy USB charging points are located up there too, along with a wireless lamp to create a warm glow at night. There is limited headroom on the mezzanine and you cannot stand up but it has a soft wool carpet and enough width to make it a comfortable space to relax in. The kitchen is fully equipped for a self-catering holiday with a gas hob over a Neff electric oven, a toaster, fridge with freezer compartment, and the usual collection of saucepans and utensils you would expect to find, including a cafetière for brewing your morning coffee. The bathroom has a carved marble basin sat on top of a teak vanity unit, heated towel rail to keep your Egyptian cotton towels warm and dry, a shower and toilet. Step out onto the covered deck to enjoy the fresh air in all weather. Outside, you have your own garden with patio furniture and a fire pit to toast marshmallows on. Watch birds play in the trees during the day, bats at dusk, and at night, listen out for owls. There's a dedicated off-street parking space and room to store your bikes and surfboards. We also have a beginners surfboard available for guests to borrow - just ask.
Our cute Cornish village is just minutes from the rolling surf of the north Cornish coast. Just a short walk from the cabin and you'll find a traditional pub serving food, a café, the village shop and Post Office, and a butcher. We are close to some fantastic beaches, perfect for a walk, exploring the coast path, or hitting the surf at Polzeath. We'll help you find a quiet cove for lazy summer days. See our Kovva Cabin Guidebook below for inspiration and ideas of what to do during your stay.
  • This cabin was an absolute dream come true. It was impeccably decorated, in a beautiful location and very cozy. It honestly felt like a true home away from home. Julia was incredibly helpful and friendly and even provided a wonderful hamper of goodies upon our arrival. I cannot recommend Kovva cabin enough!

    Simon2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely couple of nights at Kovva Cabin - just wish we didn't have to leave! Julia was a fantastic host, communicative and friendly but left us to it. The space is so beautifully decorated, with everything you would need for a luxurious & relaxing stay including local coffee and homemade cookies. St Teath is a great base for exploring a beautiful part of Cornwall and we couldn't recommend Kovva highly enough.

    Georgie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kovva Cabin is all you could imagine! Sparkling clean, beautifully and stylishly presented, all mod cons, well equipped and very comfortable. It was such a treat staying there and Julia is a wonderful host. Homemade cookies, tasty local goodies and all important milk for tea were left for us which just shows how much Julia values her guests and the quality of their stay. A comprehensive help sheet is in the cabin in case you have quick questions. There are so many lovely walks and villages nearby to hop on and off the coastal path; cosy pubs and cafes provide the all important pasties and cream teas! Enjoying a mug of hot chocolate in front of the log burner- bliss!

    Mary2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing experience in a cute cabin. We were given a tour and a goody box on arrival and then were left to it. The hosts would message to check up on us every day and would let us know where we were going. The place was really clean and cosy. We were able to get to a number of places such as tintagel castle, the enden project and lads end with ease.

    James2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Julia’s cabin is cute and cosy - perfect hideaway for a stay in North Cornwall. Julia was friendly, helpful and extremely responsive to questions and requests.

    Jo2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Julia hosted my anniversary weekend for me and my partner Elise, the cabin itself was immaculatly clean with lovely modern touches, such as the Google hub and smart TV. Julia truly went the extra mile and provided a lovely card and hamper with a bottle of wine. We couldn't recommend enough we will definitely be returning 😊

    James2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to stay! Such a cosy cabin with a wonderful fire and all the amenities you need. The cabin has been decorated beautifully a lovely style and was very clean. We found the location perfect for exploring the local area and visiting all the wonderful beaches. Julia was very welcoming and had even made biscuits for our welcome hamper! Don’t hesitate to book your stay at Kovva Cabin.

    Thomas2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Julia and her family were the perfect hosts, so friendly fun and efficient. The photos do not do it justice in that the Cabin is very stylish, with a comforting and welcoming atmosphere photos can’t show you. We were poorly and didn’t venture out a lot, so having such a beautiful cosy and comfortable space to hang out in was very restorative. The welcoming hamper of treats was very generous and yummy. Close to the coast and lots of towns and beautiful scenery and walks it’s the perfect location. Thank you Julia and Matt for your hospitality. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the cabin to other guests.

  • The horseshoe cottage is the perfect place for some relaxing time out very close to some of Cornwall's best spots like Tintagel, Port Isaac and Boscastle. No matter what you're looking for, it's all there: a vast kitchen including a dishwasher and a laundry machine, a separat dining / living room including a cosy fireplace and even a TV. The whole cottage has its very unique charm and is beautifully decorated with tasteful and modern details. It's perfect for families with one or two kids as there are two separate bedrooms and even a drawing desk and toys for kids. Gemma and Phil have been very helpful and provided us quickly with all the necessary information we've been looking for. The way they handle it, seemed very professional to us, so we can highly recommend staying at the horseshoe cottage and will definitely consider coming back once more.

Hawks House is located 10 miles from Crackington Haven, which is included in the best surfing beaches in England and was recommended by the Marine Conservation Society in its Good Beach Guide. The scenery in the beach area of the surrounding majestic cliffs is almost un-rivalled. At high tide, the beach is a mass of quartz-veined pebbles and large boulders but at low tide, it reveals an expanse of sand and many rock pools. Only the road separates the sea from a couple of beach shops, two superb beach cafes and a public house with a restaurant and fantastic terrace.Fifteen minutes further up the coast is Bude, a popular tourist destination for both its surfing and fantastic family beaches in Widemouth Bay. The watchful eye of the RNLI lifeguards allows for some of the best surfing in the world alongside swimming and a whole host of water-based activities. Bude today is a lovely sea-side town, the main shopping streets and inter-connecting alleyways play host to a wide range of locally owned shops, restaurants and pubs. There are boutiques, shoes, arts & crafts, jewellery, hand-made gifts and souvenirs.A few miles inland is Bodmin Moor, one of Cornwall's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cornwall at its wildest and rich in ancient history, Bodmin Moor stretches for 30 miles through the heart of the County of Cornwall and offers spectacular walking and horse riding. With easy access to the both the A30 and the Atlantic Highway you can quickly travel up and down the South-West to enjoy some of the larger tourist attractions that Devon and Cornwall have to offer. To the west lies the stunning and infamous village of Boscastle, it is a tiny port set in a narrow ravine, the town came into prominence recently as a result of terrible floods in the summer of 2004. In the village there is a pottery, a museum of witchcraft and several gift shops. A footpath to the left of the quayside will take you to the 'Lookout' which is a wonderful vantage point from which to view the rugged coastline. Boscastle was once a favourite meeting place of the author Thomas Hardy, and is the location for one of his novels 'A Pair of Blue Eyes'. Boat trips can be taken from the harbour as far as Long Island, where during the breeding season you may see razorbills, puffins & guillemots. There is a demanding 7 mile coastal path walk between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. There are several attractions along this stretch of coast including Strangles beach at the bottom of a large landslip with a rock arch the Northern Door. Just south of here is High Cliff which is the highest point on the Cornish coast path. Don't forget to visit Pentargon inlet which has an imposing waterfall that cascades down to the sea below.Trethevy is a delightful hamlet, equidistant from Boscastle and Tintagel and has a history which may well go back to 250 AD when a granite post was inscribed with C DOMI N GALLO ET VOLUS – ‘For the Emperor Caesars our lords Gallus and Volusian' this can now be found outside St Piran a former monastery and now private residence, Trethevy is also home to St Nectans Glen a beautiful valley where the River Trevillet has carved its way through the slate and formed a beautiful 60' waterfall.Brown Willy and Roughtor are two fantastic tors and excellent walks, being the highest points in Cornwall the views are stupendous. Bowithick is also worth a visit to marvel at it's quirky bridge and history that dates back to the Domesday book.On Bodmin Moor, Dozmary pond is thought to contain Arthur's Excalibur, and Merlin is thought to be still found walking under Tintagel Island. Camelford is a great centre for touring, walking, fishing, swimming or surfing holidays. The town is steeped in history and has excellent shopping and sporting facilities. Port Isaac is the location of the televisions series Poldark and more recently Doc Martin, as well as being a gorgeous working fishing village. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. The famous Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths for 18 miles, providing the whole family with a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge, and out to Padstow where you can sample Rick Steins famous Fish and Chips. The market town of Launceston was the historic capital of Cornwall and well worth a visit to see the church of St Mary Magdelene, with granite carvings, unusual among Cornish churches, the Norman Castle and a wide variety of independent shops and cafes.
  • Such a lovely place which gives you plenty of options to explore Cornwall!

  • This is a beautiful cottage and we had a fantastic break here with our little black lab Milly. The cottage is very nicely done and the log burner is a bonus. Getting back after a cold and windy day out to just chill in front of the fire with a drink or two in the evening was just perfect. Definitely a perfect place to stay for two (and a dog).

  • Arrived on a cold February evening to find the fire alight and fresh flowers on the table. Beautiful barn conversation with lovely furnishings and everything needed for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Great WiFi connection. Lovely coastal and inland walks just a few minutes walk away. Would love to return, thank you!

  • This is a lovely little cottage for a couple! Went here for New Year’s Eve with my partner and it was a lovely cosy stay. Really recommend anyone looking for a relaxed short break.

  • I booked a weekend stay at Hawks house as a surprise for my partners birthday and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s set in a beautiful, peaceful location with lots of stunning beaches and fishing towns close by. I received quick responses from Richard & the house was stunning inside. Highly recommend!

  • A little gem! We had a beautiful stay at Hawks House. The cottage has been very thoughtfully renovated and is cosy and homely with everything you need. The log burner was already on when we arrived which was a lovely touch. The grounds are beautiful and such a peaceful setting. We did not want to leave and will absolutely be returning.

    Rebecca2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful one week stay at Hawks House. The cottage was warm and welcoming and the wood burner was a lovely addition for some colder autumn nights. The place was characterful, spotlessly clean and with good amenities. The location allows the feeling of truly being 'away from it all', whilst actually being a short drive from beaches, the coastal path and numerous towns. From the front door there are also numerous walks on offer, including to the nearby pub (around 30 minutes).

Self contained detached apartment with spectacular views over the north Cornish coast. The flat offers all the amenities for self catering. It is a few minutes walk from the coast path and down to the harbour at Boscastle. Pub and convenience shop close by with other shops and restaurants in the village. Well behaved dogs welcome. Separate space available for drying wet gear, boots and dogs! Lovely garden and spectacular sunsets over the sea.
The apartment is totally self contained with a double bedroom, open plan kitchen and sitting room with a double sofa bed* and a bathroom. As it is self-catering, the kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, full size cooker , toaster and electric kettle. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it which appears small but has good water pressure offering a decent shower. *The apartment is set up for two people to share the double bed, however, if you wish to use the sofa bed as well as the double bed, please let me know when you book. There is a small additional fee for the extra laundry of £10.00. Additional people can be accommodated for an extra fee. We are happy to welcome your dog and have a large garden space for you to use for yourselves and your dog - the sunsets are often spectacular and can be easily viewed from the garden seating. We have a space below the apartment for drying off wet clothing and for drying off dogs. You are welcome to use this to leave walking boots and other equipment such as surf boards. There is also freezer which can be used at your request. We are adjacent to the footpath leading over the hill to St Nectan's Glen and onwards to Rocky Valley. Our location is ideal also for quick access via a footpath and across one road to the coastal path. There are bus stops close by for buses to Tintagel, Bude and Wadebridge. Paradise Road is a quiet small road it is lit by street lights at both ends and we provide a wind up torch for the middle part in case you decide to go out in the evening. The walk to the harbour is very pretty - just along this road and down the old High Street, passing by many typical Cornish properties and winding down the the harbour.
We overlook the sea and the Lookout point which is a feature of the North Cornish coast. There is a good view of the Church and parts of the village. Our main enjoyment is the short walk to the cliff top at Forrabury and the walks around the "stitches" which overlook the harbour and from there you can walk to the village. Behind us are fields with livestock and views across towards Bude and on a clear day Lundy Island. We are close to a convenience shop which although small has a very good selection of fresh goods and speciality foods. Our nearest pub which offers food all year round is a short walk along Paradise Road with many other eating places in the village and harbour area.
  • Lovely Apartment with an incredible view of Boscastle and the coast! Very clean and well presented, touching distance to all the local coastal walking routes. Communication with Helen was great, very clear instructions could not have asked for more, highly recommend!!

  • The apartment had everything we needed and was in perfect location - close to coastal walks, right by a bus stop but not quite on a main road, good pub nearby and amazing views of the sea!

THE TRACTOR SHED AT MESMEAR, POLZEATH SLEEPS 2 + 2 This modern, open plan holiday barn has been beautifully converted from the farm's original Tractor Shed. Thoughtfully designed for couples, those with small children, and single occupants. The wood burner makes it perfect for holidays at any time of year. It has everything you would expect to find in a much larger property. Has a private BBQ & seating area. * There is sufficient room to place an extra bed as well as cot - please enquire
The Tractor Shed is less than 1 mile from Polzeath beach and close to Rock and Padstow. The quaint fishing village of Port Isaac, home to Doc Martin and the Fisherman's Friends is close by.
Close to stunning beaches and countryside with walks straight from the door.
  • My husband, 4 month old baby and I had a wonderful stay at the Tractor Shed. Mesmear is a wonderful farm which guests are free to explore. The pool is an added bonus which you wouldn’t get with many other holiday rentals. Vicki goes out of her way to welcome guests and offer recommendations for the local area. The Tractor Shed itself is a stunning cosy space. We had a truly lovely stay and hope to return again in the future.

  • Wow, what can I say! My partner and have just returned from one of the best weekends we've had. We booked on the day of arrival and from that moment Vicki could not have been more helpful! The accommodation was amazing as well as the farm itself with all of the animals and amenities it really felt like home! Vicki was really helpful giving us tips and information about experiences in the local area.....we've already started to discuss a return trip later this year! I would reccomend to all whether couples or family groups it will suit all! Thank you Vicki :)

    Alex2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • I decided to book 4 nights in the Tractor Shed for me, my wife and our 7 month old baby as Emma (my wife!) is going back to work from maternity leave very soon. We were recommended to stay somewhere between Polzeath and Port Isaac and this location is perfect for both. The property itself was perfect for our family and Vicki set it up as if it was a home from home - honestly, a wonderful, thoughtful host. The Tractor Shed is loaded with everything you’ll need for your trip (including an amazing bath and walk-in shower!) and there is a great space out back for a BBQ (we had two during our stay). The surrounding area is a farm and Vicki has pigs, chickens and Alpaca’s which can all be fed - the look on our daughter’s face seeing the animals was priceless... I could ramble on about this for a while - but instead, all I can say is check Mesmear out - you won’t be disappointed.

This delightful cottage is in a quiet street in this local village. Close toTrebarwith Strand, Port Isaac (Doc Martin country), Tintagel and Boscastle.(Ronnie Biggs of the Great Train Robbery was an evacuee here in WW2) . A Bright fresh character room with old shipboard floors. Luxury double ended bathtub to unwind at the end of a busy day. A warm welcome from your hosts Mandy and Rob and their friendly springer spaniel Mabel. Excellent breakfast from locally sourced produce.
Friends and guests say they always feel relaxed and at home when they stay here. It is very quiet at night so they sleep well. The beaches and cliff walks nearby are quite spectacular! I often pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming and do actually live here. There is a pub in the village a short walk away as well as many others a short drive away. Padstow, Rock and Wadebridge are all 20 to 30 minutes away. Even closer are Port Isaac, Boscastle and Tintagel. The local brewery at Tintagel serves great food and has spectacular views and of course an amazing range of beers lunchtimes
This village is very much full of local people all of whom are friendly. A few houses are second homes or holiday lets. In Delabole we are proud of our community and feel fortunate to have such lovely places to visit near us but be out of the busy tourist spots so it is much more relaxed. An ideal place to visit many attractions from. As well as beautiful beaches we boast fantastic scenic coastpath walks all within easy reach. At Tintagel there is a new bridge across the sea to the castle ruins We also have an amazing working slate quarry which is the deepest in Western Europe and can be seen from space. Very near Port Isaac (Doc Martin Country) Also Rock 15minutes drive and the ferry to Padstow. Country houses Pencarrow and Lanhydrock well worth a visit. There is a pub The Bettle and Chisel in the village 5 minutes walk from our cottage.

  • The location of Reevescott Retreat is even more stunning than it looks in the photos. We gasped as the stunning coastline came into view on our way there. It’s just such a beautiful place to spend a week, it felt so private despite being attached to the house. The annexe itself was spotlessly clean with great extras like shopping bags, iron, hairdryer, umbrellas and games. Very thoughtful! We used the annexe as base for exploring, we went to Heligan and Eden, and lots of pretty little fishing villages. We loved visiting the waterfall, St Nectan’s Glen which has a stunning treetop cafe. Rocky Valley nearby is also a lovely walk, the flora and fauna is just gorgeous in this area. We did a coastal walk to Buckator and saw a seal colony. I would also recommend Vega restaurant in Tintagel for awesome fresh food with a personal touch, we visited twice but do book before you go. Thanks for giving us a lovely holiday that we will remember for a long time.

  • An idyllic relaxing retreat in Cornwall, well located with beautiful views over the sea and lovely sunsets in the evening. The south west coastal path nearby offers excellent walks, of varying difficulties. We had an amazing weekend and wish we could have stayed longer! Would recommend the Boscastle Farm Shop for lunch or afternoon tea.

  • Beautiful cozy cottage in the heart of the countryside. Gill and Neal put so many lovely touches into making you feel comfortable and at home. We had a really lovely stay - Thank you so much!

  • A lovely cottage to stay in, ideal for family of 4. Well equipped and all the added touches. The view is fantastic. A walk down to the village was lovely.

  • A great cottage in an amazing location. Rocky Valley and Tintagel Castle are virtually on your doorstep. So many thoughtful touched in the cottage made for a great holiday. We cannot wait to come back.

  • The Carpenter's Cottage is a lovely place to relax, it has a very cosy ambiance, really quiet and secluded. Gill was very efficient communicating with us accessing the cottage and giving us clear instructions on arriving there. There were four of us and we all found the place nice and well-equipped for our needs during our stay. On arrival we had a lovely welcome message and also some delicious biscuits for us which were a lovely touch. The place is very clean, it has loads leaflets of local information, with things to do and see, really ideal! There were also lots of board games to keep you entertained if you wanted to stay inside. The location of the cottage is ideal for visiting the area, less than a 10 min drive to Tintagel and the Castle. We really enjoyed our stay and would totally recommend it!

    Cesar2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully presented cottage, immaculate throughout. The hosts left a lovely welcome in the form of home made biscuits which were gorgeous! Everything we could have needed was available - even an iron and ironing board! I’d thoroughly recommend it - especially if you want to explore the nearby coastline as many beautiful locations are extremely close -Port Isaac, Boscastle, Tintagel etc.

    Rob2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a great location! This is a lovely cottage to use as a base. It is very close to many spectacular beaches and sites, yet it is tucked away on a quiet road - away from all the other tourist sites. The cottage is on the same ground as the main house, with a private outside area. It is owned by Gill and Neil, who are both helpful and welcoming. The cottage is ultra clean and it has everything you may need, with extras like delicious biscuits and odds and ends that you may need to cook with. It is also bigger than the photographs suggest. We found the farm shop, past Boscastle most useful and the excellent coffee at The Cornish Bakery in Tintagel, worth a visit for our daily coffee fix. I would certainly recommend this cottage and indeed it’s superb location to anyone wishing to see Cornwall.

  • Loved staying at the cottage! Wayne is a really good host and was easy to communicate with. We appreciated the fire on arrival and the thoughtful gifts of processco and a bottle of beer. Which my partner said was one of the best beers he has had! It was a good location to stay in cornwall as everywhere was really accessible. The cottage is lovely and homely.

    Amy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cottage for 5 nights whilst exploring Cornwall and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The weather was typically inclement but the cottage provided a safe and comfortable haven. The facilities at the cottage are great and the bed is one of the comfiest I've had the pleasure of sleeping in. 100% would stay again.

    Neil2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time spent in this beautiful cottage. It's so homely and romantic, with lots of thoughtful detail. It's located in a lovely village and is an ideal base for exploring north Cornwall. Wayne was a brilliant host, going above and beyond to help us when we ran into some problems. We can't recommend this cottage enough.

    Nicola2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very sweet little cottage in a stunning area. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bed especially comfortable. The fire was especially welcome in February! Check in and out was easy and convenient times and Wayne went above and beyond to make sure he stayed in contact and checked in on us when we had a power cut due to the storms. A great base, lovely cosy few days away!

    Gwennan2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little get away in the countryside of Cornwall, a lovely cosy house with everything you need. The fire and the bath made that extra homely feel.

    Amber2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wayne's place is really a lovely gem of a cottage. It's in a small village just at the edge of Bodmin moor which makes it well positioned to explore the entire county of Cornwall. It is a traditional stone cottage so there's a few quirks- relying on stove for heating, narrow steep stairs, etc. From an accessibility point of view, there's definitely challenges, with stairs down to the front door, stairs down to the bathroom (below ground floor), and stairs up to the bedroom. All in all we found the cottage to be a really lovely, romantic, cosy getaway spot for a few days. Highly recommended.

    Adam + Mikayla2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, stylish cottage with a great location for exploring Bodmin Moor and beyond. Can totally recommend!

You can walk across the meadows to Tintagel Castle, village pubs & cafes galore! It is very comfortable with a good quality mattress on a king-sized bed & an en-suite with a large, hot shower and a walk in wardrobe. There is WIFI in the cabin, a TV, a small fridge and tea making facilities. The Cabin has private use of very simple kitchen facilities (fridge, freezer, microwave, single hob etc) which are available in the separate barn (which can be cold!). There is ample parking available at the main house & it is a level walk across the grass to the cabin.
Trevillick is a quiet, tucked away hamlet 1/2 a mile from Tintagel. Along with a stunning sea view in many directions, it is also surrounded by the most beautiful countryside and has direct access down a dusty (or muddy!) track to stunning National Trust land and footpaths in every direction! Tintagel is a small and friendly village which is famously linked to the legend of King Arthur. Don't forget to grab a pasty at Pengenna's! The most delicious and largest pasties known to man! • This is an amazing place! Definitely one of my favorite Airbnb’s! We wish we could have stayed longer. The space is beautiful and very functional. The location can’t be beat (easy walk to the castle). Jon was super nice and gave us lots of local tips.

    Jennifer2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • I like the place but why don't the cottage has its own kitchen??

    Mbakondja2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful location, lovely cabin and wonderful hosts. Lovely touches, great scones!

    Bryony2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • LOVED this place. Location is so magical with views of the ocean! Cosy and adorable inside and I stayed super warm even though it was freezing and windy. The barn with the kitchen is VERY cold in winter so I didn’t spend much time there cooking, but if you’re into going out to eat or eating simply it works!

    Rosalie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Cosy Cabin, it has everything you need. Jon was super friendly and gave us some great recommendations for things to do in the area. And Maddys scones were delicious! Highly recommend going for at least three nights!! We will hopefully be back another time

    Nicole2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The location is amazing, the cabin is lovely and clean and Jon and Maddy were wonderful hosts. Jon took the time to tell us about a bunch of things to do in the area and Maddy made some delicious scones which we were delighted to find when we arrived. Will definitely be coming back in summer.

    Catherine2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant stay at Jon & Maddy's cabin. Before we arrived communication with Francesca was speedy and the directions were great. When we arrived we met Jon who enthusiastically showed us around and gave some brilliant tips about the local area which helped us make the most of our stay. Also there were fantastic touches like freshly made scones and prosecco ready to enjoy 😊. We'd both highly recommend this accomodation to anyone, even though the weather was pretty brutal at night the cabin was well heated + the electric blanket kept us toasty.

    Caitlin2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jon and Maddy's place for 5 days and it was wonderful. The cabin is located in a beautiful spot that overlooks the ocean and has great walks nearby. Other towns are within 30 mins driving distance if you want to explore the rest of Cornwall. Tintagel is about 3 mins drive away and has a couple of decent supermarkets. The cabin itself has everything you need and there's a kitchen in a separate barn

Lamellen Lodge is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame! The St Tudy Inn (formerly the Cornish Arms) will welcome you in for a refreshing drink, a hearty meal or both!Wadebridge was originally a market town. It has an amazing 15th century bridge with 17 arches over the River Camel, which is definitely worth a visit. It is said the bridge was built on wool as this was how the wealthy landowners in the area made their money. From the day the bridge was built the town became known as Wadebridge. The Royal Cornwall Show ground at Wadebridge hosts the county show every June, come rain or shine, opened each year by a member of the Royal Family. Cornish Farmers have had to diversify in recent years and so has the show, but they have kept their traditional roots with steam engines being shown next to the shiny new high-tech tractors. It's not every day you get to see formation JCB digger dancing in the main ring. Both Wadebridge and nearby Camelford are centrally located in order to explore the nearby hills and moors. Wadebridge is the perfect base, being the half way point, from which to discover the Camel Trail, a walk and cycle track following the old railway route from Bodmin to Padstow. There is wonderful scenery and plenty of wildlife, including fantastic sightings of wading birds to see on this serene trail and bikes can be hired from Bodmin, Wadebridge or Padstow. From Padstow you could take a boat trip across the Camel Estuary to Rock, and lounge on the beautiful beach that stretches all the way around to Daymer Bay. The National Lobster Hatchery neighbours Rick Steins empire in Padstow. The National Trust have three properties nearby, Lanhydrock House, Trerice and Carnewas and the dramatic cliffs and beach at Bedruthan Steps. Or if you fancy something different try a tour around the Camel Valley Vineyard, Cornish Wine has been growing in stature around the world and their sparkling wines are truly stunning, having picked up lots of international awards, go for a tasting you will not be disappointed!Bodmin Moor is a couple of miles away to the East and is dominated by large granite tors which tower over sweeping expanses of moorland. Bodmin Moor has engendered fear and awe throughout history and hence provided inspiration for writers, poets and sculptors. Standing stones, burial chambers, clapper bridges cottages and farms across the moor give a hint of the 4000 years of human development ever since Bronze Age farmers first arrived.Port Isaac is about 4 miles to the North West and this has recently been the base of filming for "Doc Martin" with Martin Clunes, there are a good selection of cafes shops and pubs. Further up the coast there are all of the golden beaches and coves between Polzeath and Tintagel with some of the best surf in Europe.Bodmin lies a few miles to South West and has a large selection of supermarkets, shops and restaurants.

Ruffcott is a charming cottage with a big windowed wood burner and connected to fibre broadband, located just a mile or two from some fabulous beaches and 12 minutes from Port Isaac.
Trebarwith Strand beach is nearby with 2 great pubs and shops. Tregardock is nearer and totally unspoilt so you'll need to take a picnic. The cottage is fully equipped with 2 DVD players, access to Netflix if you have an account and most important - free wifi internet access is through fibre broadband direct to the cottage, giving speeds of 55mb/s. Central heating is provided through storage heaters which come on several times a day. A big windowed wood burner provides even more heat and of course entertainment. You might want to turn the storage heating down if you don't like being roasted. We are most popular with couples and small families. The cottage is an escape but is also well connected to the world if you want to be.
For walkers, the dramatic coastal footpath and the wilds of Bodmin Moor are only a short drive away. In an excellent location for touring, there are many NT houses and gardens within easy reach including the renowned Eden project. Shops and pubs within 1 mile.

Very home-y has everything you need for a holiday in Cornwall! Especially if you get caught out with wet weather ! We loved going to Port Issac and having a drink in old pub in port. Highly recommend

  • We had a lovely week staying here. It's a cosy cottage with everything needed for our holiday. Great location too - within a short driving distance of some great places to visit, though we spent the majority of our time at Trebarwith. Steven is a great host and kept in touch during the week to make sure all was well. A bottle of wine greeted us on arrival which was a lovely touch. We didn't need to use the heating or the tv during our stay but the Wi-Fi was good and reliable which kept the kids entertained after a long day on the beach. Big thumbs up from us!

  • We had a lovely week away at Steven’s very cute Cornish cottage. It’s a short drive from lots of lovely costal towns, beaches & beautiful cliff walks. The cottage is exactly as photographed and the kitchen is very well equipped. As a book worm I was thrilled by the large collection of novels. We had a wonderful stay - thank you Steven!

The 3 large bedrooms can each sleep 2, (1 king-sized bed, 1 double and 2 singles) and all have wardrobes, dressers and reading lamps. There is also a cot on the top floor bedroom, which is adjacent to a shower room with toilet. The main bathroom is on the first floor and there is a toilet and utility room on the ground floor. Overall it's a very practical, character rich home; we are sure you will enjoy sharing it with us.
This house is amazingly well located for a huge variety of holiday activities from tranquil sunsets to adrenaline pumping adventures, it really is a phenomenal place to base yourself to experience the very best of Cornwall. Our photos show some of places that are very local to us, from 5-20 minutes away. The house is 30m from the village shop, which stocks everything you may need. It's 50m from the Bettle and Chisel pub which does great food and its a lovely half mile walk to the Poldark Inn on the cliffs. A 10 minute drive will get you to our favourite place, Trebarwith. This has a stunning beach with great surf and small cafe and shop. It also has the Port William Inn, a traditional smugglers haunt, which does amazing food in a stunning setting overlooking the sea. Whatever you would like to get from a holiday in North Cornwall, you can easily access it from here.

  • We stayed for a week with my in laws and 2 children and it was wonderful. The house is beautiful and the kids especially appreciated the toys, books, sandpit and garden. Great location for exploring Port Isaac and Trebarwith. Super close to the play park and Spar shop too. Parking immediately outside the house could be a struggle but there were plenty of spaces within a minute or 2 walk from the house. Would definitely recommend!

  • Lynden's house was lovely, we particularly enjoyed sitting in the conservatory with a coffee in the morning. It is very spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for the six of us. The location is also fantastic with great beaches and plenty to do within a short drive. I would definitely recommend it.

  • This is a well-equipped modern cabin with a lovely garden/terrace outside. It's just past the main house where Tony lives but it feels very private. The location is excellent, just a couple of minutes' walk down a steep hill to the centre of Boscastle; and the area is beautiful and great for walkers, there is loads to explore. Tony's communications are just right - he sends good check-in information, he answers questions very quickly online and he's available for any support you need, but he respects your privacy. We'll be back!

  • A gorgeous spot to explore beautiful Boscastle area. Great for walking. Tony was very communicative and flexible and the cottage is really comfy

    Lindsay2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful weekend. Tony was an excellent host - quick and friendly communication in the lead up to our stay, even taking time to warn us about the upcoming stormy weather! Despite the storm, we still found a window of good weather to hike over to Tintagel (about 4 miles) - the coast path really is right on the doorstep! The cottage itself had everything we needed and was warm and cosy. About 5 mins walk into Boscastle down the hill - great pubs and shops. Really nice way to spend a rainy February weekend. Look forward to coming back and doing another walk!

    Esther2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for exploring with easy access to local pubs. Cute AirBnB with ample space, can be quite loud if it rains being a metal roof but we got used to it quite quickly. Would stay again. Tony was the friendliest host we've met.

    Mike2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet quaint location catered for all our needs. Very private cottage.

  • Really lovely holiday home above the town of Boscastle. The perfect location for exploring the coast and within walking distance of the pubs, restaurants, harbour and shops. Tony is a fantastic host - very welcoming and really goes the extra mile! (Small torches for the wintery October evening stroll being my favourite!). Home was very clean, comfy, well equipped and a peaceful location!

  • We had a lovely week in the Boat House. When I met Cheryl the owner she couldn't have been more friendly or welcoming. It is in a very convenient situation with a short walk to the quay and village (there is a steep hill involved)! There is plenty of choice for restaurants; everywhere we went the people were friendly and helpful. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and very well thought out. Thank you. I'm sure we will visit again. Linda

Only the road separates the sea from a couple of beach shops, two superb beach cafes and a public house with a restaurant and a fantastic terrace.Tintagel exudes charm and medieval history with Arthurian legend as the birthplace of King Arthur, Tintagel Island is reached via a narrow footpath and there is now a magnificent new footbridge which links the island to the mainland and means the walk to the castle is significantly easier. The cliffs around Tintagel are all Devonian Slate and the sands at the foot of the cliffs turn the sea a bright turquoise in strong sunlight, a truly beautiful sight. Tintagel is a delightful holiday village with many tourist shops and cafés, pubs and restaurants.Fifteen minutes up the coast is Bude, a popular tourist destination for both its surfing and fantastic family beaches in Widemouth Bay. With easy access to both the A30 and the Atlantic Highway you can quickly travel up and down the South-West to enjoy some of the larger tourist attractions that Devon and Cornwall have to offer. To the west lies the stunning and infamous village of Boscastle, it is a tiny port set in a narrow ravine, the town came into prominence recently as a result of terrible floods in the summer of 2004. In the village, there is a pottery, a museum of witchcraft and several gift shops. There is a demanding 7-mile coastal path walk between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. There are several attractions along this stretch of coast including Strangles beach at the bottom of a large landslip with a rock arch the Northern Door. Just south of here is High Cliff which is the highest point on the Cornish coast path. Don't forget to visit Pentargon inlet which has an imposing waterfall that cascades down to the sea below.Trethevy is a delightful hamlet, equidistant from Boscastle and Tintagel and has a history which may well go back to 250 AD when a granite post was inscribed with C DOMI N GALLO ET VOLUS – ‘For the Emperor Caesars our lords Gallus and Volusian' this can now be found outside St Piran a former monastery and now private residence, Trethevy is also home to St Nectans Glen a beautiful valley where the River Trevillet has carved its way through the slate and formed a beautiful 60' waterfall. On Bodmin Moor, Dozmary pond is thought to contain Arthur's Excalibur, and Merlin is thought to be still found walking under Tintagel Island. The famous Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic-free paths for 18 miles, providing the whole family with a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge, and out to Padstow where you can sample Rick Stein's famous Fish and Chips. The market town of Launceston is the capital of Cornwall and well worth a visit to see the church of St Mary Magdelene, with granite carvings, unusual among Cornish churches.
