  • This is a cute older home that has had some renovations. Not fancy but comfortable and very quiet. Walking distance to a nice play park for kids and the quaint downtown with grocery market, coffee shop, stores, library and a couple of restaurants. Plenty of room for two to four adults. Probably not good for small children. Comfy linens and a nice kitchen. There is no tv or wifi. Very pleasant street with friendly neighbors who have pride of ownership in their well cared for homes.

You will be staying in Room 105 at The Pekin Lodge :) Each unit is complete with fully stocked kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, laundry mat access, and free parking. Hope you're ready to go Hunting, Fishing, Kayaking, Birding, Hiking :D
The best way I can describe this unit is cozy and comfortable. People call it a home away from home.
Pekin is a small town in the heart of North Dakota. Full of historical landmarks and very friendly people. One of the biggest attractions that people come for is the Devil's Lake fishing. A close second is the stump Lake fishing as well as the hunting. The best thing about Pekin North Dakota is it's quiet. Not creepy like a "ghost town" but almost more like a modern-day hobbiton :)
  • Good accomodations, great value.

  • Great hospitality. Great communication. Plenty of beds. Had all the thing's anybody would need to have a great time. Perfect for larger size families. Located in a quiet & secluded little neighborhood. No complaints at all. My family enjoyed every minute of our stay.

  • A great place. Not to far from everything. The house has a fish cleaning station which was perfect for us. Everyone that went had a spot to sleep. Only downside is that it could use a couple more A/C in the bedrooms but other than that it's 5/5 for me.

    Xou2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great, friendly, understandable host! Clean place. Garage has a nice area to clean all your fishes and is a great place to hang out with the friends and family. I would recommend this place to anyone who plan on going to Devils Lake.

  • Fantastic host... Very helpful while traveling the area

    Evan2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Alison and Dwights farmer cottage was an excellent place to stay in. Very clean, lots of space to spread out and they keep their drive way well maintained with rock to keep things clean. Everything was well organized and they keep an outside station for cleaning ducks, they have a large front concrete patio/porch for keeping gear and kennels out of the rain. All of the appliances are up to date, the living space is large enough to enjoy with a big group and they had WIFI with a TV to connect to Netflix etc. No complaints from my group about the beds. Best hunting accommodation that I’ve stayed in out here.

Visit our historic 1890 train depot. This unique building is a main attraction that drew us to this property. It is an opportunity to enjoy a get away from city life. Our hope is that this is a place people can visit and enjoy natures beauty. The depot has 2 extraordinary rooms that are completely private but located on our farmstead separate from our main house. Here you can view occasional wildlife, our domestic animals (if you like) and one of the best views North Dakota has to offer.
The space you will be renting is two large rooms with high ceilings. The building is a single level historic train depot, complete with a loading dock deck. The depot has some modern features (like electricity in the bedroom) but most of its charm is from the historic character. Inside there is 1 bedroom with the original luggage rack, floor to ceiling storage cabinets (we do use these for storage but you are welcome to share them with us) wood floors, large original windows and a private entrance. There are two doors to the enter the property from the loading dock (with ramp). Once inside the two rooms are separated by a huge original glass door. The middle of the depot is a common space with a queen and a double bed, it contains an antique wood burning stove (we do ask at this time that it is for looks due to insurance purposes), a refrigerator, an antique round table with 4 chairs, a microwave, single burner, George Forman electric griddle, and a hutch holding utensils, and glass dishes. The original wood floors have not been redone in this room so you can see the splatter mark stains from feather pens dripping the ink from the ink wells. Outside the depot you will find lots of trees, a small stream, space to park, a wooded area to hike down to a public wildlife area and jumping bridge , a fire area, lawn space, and even an outhouse. We like to highlight that this is a “glamping” experience. It’s not roughing it but it’s a step back in time to a land without WiFi, cable, central air, and all those amenities we take for granted in our life. It helped us appreciate so much and we want to share that experience. I have tried to include many photos but they do not do the view justice in my opinion. There is potential for booking additional sleeping space in our main house (the school house is a shared space listed separately on Air BnB) or the possibility for camping or RV space (please discuss in advance). The kitchen and bathroom are in the main house (shared space). There is 24 hour access to it if you just let us know so we can keep our pets out of that area. Our kitchen, and bathroom are located in a centennial one room school house (see photos). It is connected to a centennial farm house. We will customize this experience to your needs. Kayaks may also be available to kayak the river along the bottom of our property. A few disclaimers: Our home is under construction/updates for the most part this will only effect the shared space. The depot is not climate controlled so we will typically be closing it down for winter months. In high temperatures we have a window A/C available to rent. For allergy purposes I would like to add there are pet animals on the property, including dogs, cats, and horses. All animals are fixed and current on vaccinations. We do animal rescue so the animals on the property change on a regular basis. If you are booking with a pet there will be a $75 pet deposit collected once the reservation is made. Pets are to stay on leash, off furniture and out of beds.
  • Nykky’s place is a one of a kind, off the beaten path experience that was so much more than we had expected. So quiet and peaceful.

    Levi2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed one night at the train depot, but had a great, memorable experience. The depot itself is rustic and charmingly decorated, and the location is truly off the beaten path. Nykky and Josh were attentive hosts and made sure we (and our dog) were comfortable. They even gave us a gift basket, which was a sweet touch.

    Kevin2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful space, Nykky and Josh are very informative on what there is to do. Very clean and relaxing place to escape the city life. Personally I loved the high ceilings in the depot! Very cool will for sure stay again in the future.

  • A charming place and so many little extra touches.

  • Kara was not available when we checked in, but asked us to call her and she gave us a quick walk through of the house. Everything was wonderful, most important, our bed was comfortable. The house had lots of extra touches. Extra pillows, blankets, towels, coffee (and anything you might have forgotten when you packed) & beautiful Christmas decorations. (Tis the season!) We only stayed one night, but would be great for longer stays as well. Thank You!

  • Kara and John were great host's. They went the extra mile to provide accommodation for my handicap . They installed a handrail on the bathroom tub and provided a shower chair. We had a flat tire and they directed us to a tire repair place. All around great place to stay for our mini family reunion. We had the entire house and made use of the well stocked kitchen for meals and the comfy parlor for visiting. Upstairs the beds were great with plenty of pillows and blankets. I slept better than I do at home and it was quiet . Expansive lawn with great flowers with plenty of places to sit in the shade, or take you chairs up to the dike and watch the rive flow by. Great communication and easy check-in. Would definitely stay here again!

  • If you like vintage homes, you will enjoy this inn. The bedrooms were nicely decorated, clean and well stocked with pillows and blankets for our use. The bathroom was also well supplied with towels and many other amenities. We enjoyed most the well stocked kitchen and wide array of tableware. We were at the inn to celebrate our daughters birthday and were able to set a nice table in the diningroom. There were many places to relax in the livingroom for everyone. There was also an extensive supply of books to read if you wanted and games to play. We enjoyed our stay very much. This inn has many charming knick-knacks throughout which may not work well with young children.

  • Our family spent a memorable week at Christmas in this special house. We highly recommend visiting Three Oaks!

  • Kara's place was a perfect stopover on our way to the pacific northwest from the midwest. She was very accommodating with our late arrival time, showed us all the details of the house, and even made some great recommendations for stopping points on our drive west! This is an old house with a lot of character and comfortable beds

Our home is a comfortable and warm place for any guest or family. We are located one block from the hospital, two blocks from Mayille State University, four blocks from restaurants and the grocery store and a short drive to the local golf course. The home has a full kitchen, microwave, and everything you need to host a meal. We have a dining table that can be expanded to seat six. There are beautiful hardwood floors throughout and three comfortable beds.
Mayville has excellent restaurants, a great grocery store, good areas for biking and is close to many amenities.
One of our favorite things about Mayville is the historic movie theater. With showings on the weekends, it's a great way to go on a date or take the whole family.

  • Tammy’s home worked well for our family of 5 with 3 kids. We were able to explore the surrounding areas near Mayville and there is always something fun to do for the family. The kitchen was a life saver for us and the beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay at Tammy’s if you are in the area.

    Kamaile2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tammy's place is great. It is clean, has two large bedrooms and one small bedroom. The backyard is huge and the basement has a ping pong table. The kitchen is well-equipped. Tammy is easy to communicate with and responds quickly to messages. Mayville is a super cute little town with great parks. We recommend the Rainbow Gardens, especially the playhouse for kids.

  • We stayed at Tammy’s Airbnb. The house is a nice ranch house with room for the whole family. We were able to play games and relax.

  • Mayville is a great little town and Tammy Jo's place is cute little home! Easy to get to, quiet neighborhood, not far from the local grocery store, coffee shop and diner, and lots more! Very much enjoyed our stay at Tammy Jo's!

In room 103 you can expect a cozy, relaxing, "homie" feel :) With great views, nice people, and fun outdoor activities for everyone, we're sure you will have a blast at The Pekin Lodge!!! So come and experience all North Dakota has to offer :D

Cozy room in a completely remodeled home one mile from VCSU. This is an upstairs bedroom with a full unattached bath. A second room with a twin bed and a third room with a queen may be available if needed for families or groups. These rooms are also listed on Airbnb. If interested in booking multiple rooms you may send an inquiry for a special rate.
  • Tammy was very accommodating as we had messaged her the night before about needing a place to stay for 4 people and she was very quick to respond. The home was clean and she added a very thoughtful birthday present for my husband as it was his birthday! Thanks again Tammy!

    Kya2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, stylish home. There are three rooms available, two with a queen bed and one with a twin. The Gold Room is the biggest and where I stayed. There would be plenty of room for a pack n’ play in the room. My mom stayed in The Red Room, and also enjoyed her stay and room. Tammy has two dogs, who are well behaved and don’t shed! She was out of town for part of our stay, and had arrangements made to care for the pups, but we opted to have them roam when we were at the house, and it was nice! It was rare, needing an Airbnb in Valley City, but we would definitely stay again! The site mentions breakfast is included. We were offered granola bars and muffins, so you may want to plan to bring other options.

Clean, quiet, and quaint is the best way to describe this two bedroom apartment. Close to the best hunting in the state. Pheasants, grouse, partridge, waterfowl, and deer hunting are second to none. Also two blocks away from the best small town cafe in the country.

  • Three Oaks Guest Inn had everything we needed to feel like home. Kara was always just a text away if we needed anything. Loved out stay and I will definitely be back next year.

  • We had a very comfortable stay in this turn of the century house. The old fashioned push button light switches were really a throw back to earlier times. The house is filled with collections of knick-knacks, glassware, art work, books, etc. You could take an entire day just looking at all the stuff. There are plenty of amenities like extra towels and blankets and a fully stocked kitchen. Host lives nearby and was readily available. Overall, very nice.

    Laura2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spot if you're looking for a place to stay with some lounging space and a kitchen. Kara had some great personal touches like leaving fresh baked bars (a Midwest treat) out for me when I arrived. When I had allergy issues, she graciously restocked the Kleenex supply for me. Enjoyed looking at all the old memorabilia in the home...spent my morning coffee time browsing through an old (1930ish) Sears catalogue. There is only 1 bath upstairs for all guests to share, so make sure you're comfortable with that.

    Diane2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kara's place is very nice. It felt like home. And Kara herself is very nice and a great host.

    David2017-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Three Oaks Inn will not disappoint. The host Kara was so warm and welcoming. When we forgot one of our bags at the airport she offered to get it and did just that. If you are a student or family member of one, it's a 15 minute walk from the Inn to the University. The Inn is warm, charming an cozy. It is perfect dor a couple or family. We got free access to a full stocked fridge; toys for our son and a gorgeous and charming back yard and grounds. Our 3 year old son loved seeing the squirrels running up and down the trees and playing with the train set. My word I could go on and on but it's worth it. Thanks Kara!

    Jolandi2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely older home in nice shape. It is within walking distance of downtown and Kara is helpful in providing suggestions of local attractions. she was very flexible with our check out time so we were able to get in a nice bike ride on the Scenic Byway before leaving. It was very hot during our visit and she and her husband were even willing to pick us up (and our bikes) if we had needed.

    Barb2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! We stayed here after a concert in Fargo. It was a quiet, friendly neighborhood. Kara was very welcoming and offered all the amenities we needed. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
