Cold Spring Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Cold Spring

15 Minutes from Cold Spring village and Beacon. One hour and fifteen minutes by train or car to Manhattan. High-speed internet, cable, central air-conditioning and fireplace. Large deck, big yard, mountain views, tree swing, portable fire pit, gas grill and a fabulous non-toxic 8 person HOT TUB.
PLEASE NOTE: • I have a two-night minimum. • I charge per night the largest number of guests staying. For example, if 9 guests stay Friday night and 12 guests stay Saturday night, you will be charged for 12 guests each night. I charge per bed used per weekend. ( I still have the costs of changing and remaking 12 beds ) • Also, guest fees are associated with bed capacity. If you use more beds than the number of guests you paid for, you will be charged an extra guest fee ($50 per night). For example, a king bed sleeps 2 guests, not 1 guest. • I will consider single night reservations, but it must be for 12 guests. • Sleeping arrangements: Master bedroom: One king-size bed (2 people) Conservatory off master bedroom: Two single beds (2 people) Small guest room: One full-size bed (2 people) Large guest room: Four single beds (4 people) Living room: One king-size pull-out couch (2 people) Plus one single blow up bed (1 person) • All beds are freshly made before your arrival. You do not need to bring bedding or towels. • I have a fully stocked kitchen with glasses, dishes, pots and pans. HOT TUB • I have a new 8 person hot tub. The tub does not use chlorine, but rather high-tech built in sanitizers (UV light and Ozone) there is just a tiny bit of non toxic chemicals (Baqua Spa sanitizer and oxidizer), so you don't smell after you get out. If you have read previous reviews regarding any extra fees, this no longer applies. The hot tub is now included in the regular cleaning fee.
When you walk outside or just open the window, you'll hear the rushing sound of water from a stream that wraps the property, it makes you feel like you're in a rain forest. We have lots of books, games and toys for everyone to enjoy!
  • This house is absolutely fantastic. It is beautifully decorated, peaceful, and secluded. Linda and her husband were excellent hosts. We had a wonderful time here and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cozy weekend upstate!

    Emily2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was there to greet us as we arrived; she was kind and inviting, giving us a tour of her lovely home. The home itself is laid-out perfectly for a large group. The kitchen/dining area overlooks the living room, so there's plenty of space to sit together comfortably. The kitchen is well-furnished; we had everything we needed to cook a large Hanukah dinner for 10+ people. This is an all-star AirBnB rental; perfect for a large group looking to escape NYC for a weekend!

    Tim2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful house, location and views to help us celebrate our wedding weekend! Linda was helpful and very responsive when we couldn't find the iron and we would definitely stay again!

    Matt2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was a great host. We stayed there during our wedding weekend and the house could not have been more perfect. Linda was very responsive and helpful during our stay. Will definitely try to make it back this summer!

    Kayla2015-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our family and a few close friends stayed here for the long weekend over a white thanksgiving and had an amazing time! The home and surrounding area was picturesque, relaxing, and cozy. Every night was a feast with great company and roasted marshmallows by the fireplace. We all agreed that we didn't want the weekend to be over! The only minor point is that there is wireless internet but the signal maybe spotty. I think it's just the area and nothing negative to our stay.

    Mary2014-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was really great and super responsive. The house is beautiful and well kept! We went for my sisters bachelorette and it was easy driving distances to the lake, hiking, and the town. Cold Spring is really relaxing and quaint! Only feedback is I wish the rate had just been inclusive, she charges $150 extra to use hot tub and each person over 10 is an extra charge of $50.00 for sheets/towels but the people slept on a couch so it just seems more expensive than it needed to be. That being said, all of this is in the listing so they aren't surprise charges just seemed aggressive. All in all had a great time and would recommend!

    Erin2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We chose Linda's home for a bachelorette style weekend away for 10 close friends. It could not have been more perfect. We had plans to spend more time in the surrounding towns but it was difficult to pull ourselves away from the tranquility and comfort of the house and yard! The rooms were extremely comfortable and everything was as described. We had most of our meals at home and the kitchen was well stocked and we found everything we needed and fit everyone around the large dining table comfortably! Highly recommend going during the fall season to take in cool temperatures, changing leaves, and cozy evenings by the outdoor/indoor fire. Linda was wonderful to communicate with and made our stay effortless.

    Shannon2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down one of my favorite Airbnb’s, maybe of all time. We stayed here with a small group of friends while the fall foliage was at its peak—just a perfect weekend for apple picking, cooking, and spending quality time in the hot tub. Everyone was so sad to leave. Sparkling clean, peaceful, stylish, and beautifully decorated (they also have very good taste in books).

Our beautiful open-floor plan home nestled on 13 acres is minutes away from the vibrant shopping of downtown Cold Spring, NY and surrounded by lakes, and hiking trails, including the Appalachian Trail. We are in a rural area with an urban edge.
Our artistic, spacious , comfortable home is set on 13 (fairytale-esque) private, forest acres. We are minutes away from hiking trails, swimming lakes, and the Hudson River where you can kayak.
  • Paula's home felt like a home away from home (albeit much much larger and nicer than my Brooklyn railroad apt.). It was cozy with many places to lounge and chill out after cooking and eating our Thanksgiving dinner. The fireplace and hot tub was such a lovely addition to our trip, making it even more special. Cooking such a large meal was easy because there are 2 ovens and 2 refrigerators. The only thing is that I may recommend bringing some baking dishes depending on what you want to cook. There are plenty of pots and pans however. Paula was very thoughtful and communicative and even sent videos of particular things about the house that we'd need to know since she was attending a thanksgiving elsewhere and could not be present to greet us. There was plenty of firewood and Paula was nice to leave us milk and bread and coffee/tea. After all, we were only thinking about our Thanksgiving dinner. We'll definitely be back in the summertime so we can enjoy the large deck and go for longer hikes in the area.

    Cori2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Paula's place is a hidden gem! The house is wonderful, the back patio incredibly spacious, and Paula was super communicative and easy to reach throughout our stay. We'll certainly be back.

    Max2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • This house is absolutely gorgeous - pictures truly do not do it justice. The house is extremely secluded and surrounded by trees, even though it's right off a local highway. Our large group all had a place to sleep and there was even extra room to spare. We especially loved spending our time on the deck and the hot tub outside. Paula is such an accommodating host and extremely kind! She left us a little gift since we were celebrating our wedding weekend and was very responsive with any questions we had. We will definitely be back; thank you Paula for such a wonderful stay!!!

    Alice & Mike2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Paula's place for the weekend! The house is an amazing deal for a large group of people who want a relaxed, carefree weekend. The place itself is beautiful with tons of outdoor space -- I would love to go back in the summer. The location is great. There's a grocery store a short drive away, tons of places to hike. You can also take the time to visit Dia Beacon, as that's only 15-20 minutes away. Paula made the check in process insanely easy. She was so communicative and helpful. When she realized that she couldn't meet me at the house, she sent me a bunch of videos so that I understood how everything in the house worked.

    Milana2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house was nicely decorated and very clean, and the grounds were beautiful! Too bad it rained most of our time there or we would have been out on the deck more enjoying our surroundings. The hot tub was just the thing we needing after a long day of racing! Couches were very comfortable for those who didn't get a bed.

    Liz2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Paula's place. It was the perfect place for five girlfriends to get away from the city and enjoy a chill weekend away. The house is lovely, huge, and clean, and the outdoor space is just incredible with TWO hot tubs, a fire pit, a lovely forest to walk in, and a large deck for eating outside and lounging around. We had the best time and will definitely be back! <3 :)

    Alissa2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The host was lovely and left fresh linens, bath products and even plenty of firewood which was very useful! It was a spacious, lovely home which anyone would enjoy. It was in a perfect location and minutes from downtown Cold Springs which was a gem of a town! Our host was also very responsive to our needs and her communication was immediate. I would highly recommend this home!

    Dora2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay. House was beautiful - totally private, surrounded by trees and magnificent views. The hot tub was clean and Paula was so kind to have it heated and ready for our arrival. Dining table perfect for hosting dinner. We loved our stay. Highly recommend and hope to be back.

Unwind in our charming, rustic, fully remodeled stone cottage, located in Lake Valhalla/Hudson Highlands region of Cold Spring. Take a walk down to the lake and enjoy the scenery. No matter what season it is, walking around this private neighborhood is enchanting. Take a 10 min. car ride into the Village of Cold Spring, where you have shopping, restaurant/bars, kayaking, hiking and more breathtaking scenery down by the Hudson River. Please read the Guidebook for places to go!
The interior decor is open & airy with vaulted ceilings. 17th century reclaimed barn wood cabinets compliment the kitchen which is stocked with appliances and cookware that will make any home chef happy. All of our linens and bedding are organic. A stone fireplace frames a Jotul Wood Burning Stove in the living room. Plenty of firewood wood and kindling await you on a chilly night. Off the living room you will find a sunroom with a huge comfy couch and a 45 inch flat screen. High speed internet works throughout the house. Comfortable furniture throughout. Back Patio with grill, complete with outdoor furniture and fire pit. Great for couples, writers and solo adventurers who love peace & quiet in the woods with walking distance to a spectacular lake.
Lake Valhalla and its 57 cottages on 900 forest acres used to be an early second home community established by primarily German/Austin and Norwegian descendants from New York City. The cottages are clustered with no 2 the same. Primarily made of wood and stone. The community established in the 1930's includes a boat lodge, tea pavilion, shuffle board courts, tennis courts as well as a beautiful spring fed Lake. The feeling is that of a high end summer camp that has kept it's original character and charm at current day. Cold Spring Village is 10 minutes away, where you have fine and casual dining, boutique stores, art galleries, hiking, kayaking and the beautiful waterfront on the Hudson River. West Point is across the river. Other nearby areas / towns with things to do are Fahnestock State Park, Hudson Highlands State Park, Garrison, Peekskill, Beacon and Storm King.
  • This cozy, charming bungalow is a perfect, relaxing getaway. The home itself is beautiful, and even luxurious feeling. It's in a beautiful neighborhood with views of the woods across the street, and central to both Cold Springs and Beacon, which are great towns with fun stores and restaurants. Betsy and Alex were incredibly responsive and thoughtful hosts. The house really had the perfect mix: it was a relaxing getaway--but had lots to do within ten minutes!

    Jacqueline2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely home! Cozy and inviting, tucked away in the woods with beautiful mountain and lake views, yet just a quick drive from downtown. Betsy was the most gracious and understanding host - quick responses to all of our questions! The cottage is beautifully decorating, warm and inviting with a great kitchen for cooking, fireplace with plenty of firewood, amazing movie selection, board games, and incredible scenery. We had the most wonderful weekend - we didn't want to leave! Will definitely be back!! Thank you Betsy and Alex!

    Maggie2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Betsy's home is just as lovely as pictured - bright yet cozy and well-appointed. Everything was immaculately clean (even to my husband and mother-in-law's exacting standards). Betsy was also very helpful with answering all our questions before our stay. The location is a terrific jumping-off point for exploring Cold Springs, Beacon, and Storm King, but it'd be equally lovely just to spend time on the back patio and down by the lake. You won't be disappointed!

    Nicole2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Betsy's place is the perfect weekend getaway. It's an hour and a half from Brooklyn and the perfect distance from town (you're far enough away to be secluded and close enough that it's easy to go in for meals and shopping). My partner and I felt at home immediately. There are so many lovely touches and thoughtful details everywhere. We were at want for nothing (except more time!)

  • Beautiful surrounding, modern interior, clean and a total enjoyment.

    Ming2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to get away. Everything you need and easy breezy.

    Matt2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is perfect. So comfortable, cozy, and clean. Betsy has everything you could possibly need-- toiletries, kitchen supplies, beach towels. We so enjoyed being able to walk to the private lake. We went swimming and canoeing. It's the perfect lakeside getaway.

    Luca2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very cozy and well equipped with everything we possibly could have needed. The lake is a short walk from the house, which is perfect for swimming and exploring with the canoe. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a serene setting by a lake.

Get plenty of peace & quiet in this simple mountainside home, 2.1 miles up a lovely winding road, set on 6 rustic acres between Cold Spring village, Garrison, Beacon and Fishkill. Enjoy tranquility and solitude at home, venture into town to shop, eat, or stroll, or take a hike.
The house itself is a "raised ranch" with main living area on upper level. Main bathroom has tub & shower. Master bedroom has en suite bathroom with shower and full bed with firm mattress. Secondary bedroom has hi-riser that pulls out to make 2 twin beds. These twin beds can be connected to make 1 queen sized bed. Living room has couch that person 5' 7" and under can sleep on comfortably but is NOT a convertible couch. There is a family room that is presently unfurnished except for a futon couch which converts into a double bed and a chest of drawers. This room has to be walked through to get to laundry room and garage. All-glass wall in living room overlooks driveway and has a view of the woods. If you're looking for a house with the most modern, up-to-date interiors, stainless steel kitchen, matched dinnerware, then this place is not for you. It is furnished in an uncluttered, eclectic, mostly vintage style. The same for kitchenware. Plates and silverware do not necessarily match, so please be advised if this is important to you. This is not an old house, by evolutionary standards. Built in 1973, it retains almost all it's original details: Formica countertops, wood veneer plywood cabinets, cultured marble bathroom sinks, period light fixtures, etc. In addition, if you are interested in modern architecture, you may like to know that this is an original Acorn Structures house. Acorn houses were designed by John Bemis and architect Carl Koch. The latter went on to develop the Techbuilt house, which are near look-alikes to my Acorn house. All these homes were designed as affordable, pre-fab houses expressly built for the post World War II housing market, when there was a need to re-home returning GIs and their growing families.
Go antiquing in Cold Spring, sample its eateries, enjoy a summer concert in the Chapel of Our Lady or the gazebo or look out over the gorgeous views along the Hudson. Beacon boasts great restaurants, art galleries, the DIA:Beacon museum, a mountain to climb and a pool set right in the river. Fantastic view of historic West Point from Garrison, and while there, take a peek into the renowned Garrison Art Center. Or take a hike in the woods along Fahnestock State Park's many well-marked trails and enjoy its swimming beach.
  • Shelia's place is awesome, cute, quaint and perfect for a family stay at West Point. Close to the Cold Springs antique shops. The house is great and the host is great. This is my second time staying there and would stay again.

    Cheri2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint, private and so peaceful! Definitely a retreat from the busy busy of life.

    Corine2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • The house was a wonderful getaway and Sheila was very friendly and helpful with anything we needed, she even gave us a lovely bottle of wine to enjoy. The house had everything we needed from a very impressive wooden spoon collection to games, we particularly enjoyed the large windows in living room to watch to changing leaves from. We hope to visit Sheila's getaway again next time we are in the lovely Cold Spring area.

    Kyle2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Cold Spring. Sheila wasn't there herself when we arrived, but left a letter and gift to make us deel very welcome. Sheila's place is exactly what we expected and wanted: nice, Big enough, quiet in the middle of nature with all the accomodations you need. Perfect to have that at 90 min from nyc.

    Bert2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a nice house! 30 minutes from Woodbury Outlets, an hour and half drive to Manhattan or Albany. When we first arrived, it was 12:05 am and it is not the same place as (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Map indicated. However the mail box clear showed the correct location. We had a little bit of trouble with the lock but Sheila is so nice that she answered our call immediately at 12:10 am. We were able to get in within 10 minutes with her instructions. The house is clear and pretty. Even corners inside cabinets are free of dust. The experience was superb also because of the pretty scenery around the house. The way to the house is narrow but it is not busy so driving on it is kind of fun. Everything you expected for a house are plenty in this one. I would come back if I am going to Woodbury again. Please note that the double single bed are now combined into one large bed.

  • We had a wonderful time and did get away from it all. The house is old, but very clean and has everything you would need. The host has invested a little in just the right things...like good mattresses, nice and firm. Our host made us feel very welcome. The house is up in the hills, with lots of woods surrounding the house. Cold Spring is a short drive away. We enjoyed walking and the fireworks on July 3.

    Mary2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila’s place was exactly what we were looking for- a nice break from the city. All of our activities were a short drive from the house: hiking, shopping, and apple picking. The house was exactly as described and was very clean. In such a beautiful location, the picture perfect scene of autumn. The kitchen had everything you could need. We’re very grateful for being able to have a nice stay at Sheila’s and would stay again!

  • Gorgeous house, gorgeous landscape. We spent hours just staring out the window, watching the creek running, the fawns playing, the birds fluttering (even a goldfinch and an indigo bunting!), the fireflies lighting up the hills. Exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

    Johnny2013-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • My family had a great experience at their home. It was beautiful and well maintained. They had some some stuff that needed handling during our visit but their help was very accommodating. I hope you use it regularly.

  • This is a special place. The neighborhood is quiet and comfortable, the home has charm and character. There are many architecturally pleasing features, and the furnishings are unique and comfortable. We highly recommend this home as a place to stay. It will be especially appreciated by individuals who love the outdoors and nature, as it is arranged with a view to birdwatching and enjoying the pastoral surroundings.

  • Everything was easy. When a few small problems did come up, our host was accessible, and we were able together to deal with the issues.

    John2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was an oasis of tranquility. The fact that the house is on a private road with a brook running alongside was a special bonus. It was the perfect getaway in a home filled with so many vintage/modern wonders. While I didn't plan on reading, there were a number of fascinating books that caught my eye. The host checked in with us throughout our, making us feel very welcome.

    bryan2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Celias house for a relaxing weekend in the country. We had our son who is a college student in the area staying with us for a few days. The location and setting is absolutely amazing. City center of Cold spring is close and a great yoga studio is down the road. The home is specious and cozy with running/walking trails right outside door. We were not too inconvenienced by dryer and dishwasher not working since we came to enjoy our weekend with sitting on patio and relaxing. When night temperatures fell the house heater automatically turned on so it was not chilly in the morning-that was a nice touch.

    Patricia2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this house so much that we kept extending our stay. In the end, we rented the house for three months. It's so peaceful. Tons of wildlife around. You feel a million miles away from NYC, but it's only about an hour and a half drive -- even less on the train. It's close to town which has cute restaurants. There's a Wal-Mart about 15 mins away in case you need any suburban-type things. The layout of the house is so cozy. I cooked many meals in the kitchen, and I will really miss the fancy range! Highly recommend this spot!

  • I had one of the best experiences staying at Noreen's place. If you are considering , I highly recommend that you book a night or two here. The host is just wonderful and the house and accommodations were perfect. The area is very close to the village only ten minutes away by taxi and you are right into town on Main Street ready to go shopping or have an amazing dinner at one of the charming restaurants. The place was immaculate and very warm and inviting as well. The pug ( Cinnamon ) was also adorable and welcoming. I truly felt at home here. Hope to be back again soon. Thanks again for your hospitality!

    Aspasia2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I had the perfect Cold Spring/Beacon weekend. Noreen's place was midway between both places I wanted to visit (about 10-12 mins away) so it was definitely convenient. She had a beautiful, clean home, and the accommodation was exactly as advertised. Noreen was very hospitable from the moment we arrived until we left. She was helpful with information about the area, as well as gave us great suggestions on places to visit and restaurants to eat at. We didn't quite cover the hikes this time as I am pregnant, but will most likely book Noreen's when we come back.

    Joanna2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This listing is extremely accurate. Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet Noreen, but she made sure everything was in order and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Spacious room, comfy bed and pillows, nice sitting area, and closet with hangers. Everything was extremely clean. Great stay here!

    Leah2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Noreen was very accommodating and easy to communicate with, and so warm. Room larger than it appears in photos and her home was half a block from a lovely pond and short trails. I don't know that it was walkable to more central Cold Spring, but I had a car so didn't have to try. Very quick drive to Breakneck Ridge, I got there by 8:30am this morning and enjoyed the relatively deserted hike (when I finished it looked rather mobbed). Would definitely recommend.

    Annie2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Noreen was a great host. The room was even nicer than in the photos. It was very clean and communication with Noreen was great.

Normally we have a 2 week minimum for bookings. However, for West Point's Parents weekend in October, you may book for 1 week. Contact the host about specific dates. Our 95 year old seasonal cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The rustic cabin is 15 minutes from Cold Spring with a lovely view of the Hudson Valley, seen from the screened in front porch. It is very quiet. Great hiking, arts, & theater nearby. The cabin is available starting May 1 until November.
Our cabin is a charming retreat rentable during May to November. Situated on a hill, it has a lovely view of the Valley. We are adjacent to Hubbard-Perkins Conservation Area, near Fahnestock Park for swimming, boating, and fishing, the Appalachian Trail, and 15 minutes to either Cold Spring or Beacon and the Hudson River. The porch provides an outdoor space (without bugs) for eating, reading, etc. While slightly rustic, it has comfortable beds, a functional kitchen, and sleeping for 5. Being a seasonal cabin means there is no heat or water from mid-November to mid-April, so we close it up. Rentals are available beginning May 1. - BR 1 = Double bed, closet, -BR 2 = Large twin bed, closet -Study/BR= Desk and twin bed -Bath 1 = New tile and shower. -Bath 2= Claw foot tub - Open dining area extends into living room space with a daybed. -Washer near kitchen and clothesline outside - Fans; AC not usually needed, house is very cool. - 12 minutes outside the village of Cold Spring / 1:10h from NYC /situated on a quiet road. Metro North Trains run from Cold Spring to Grand Central, NYC. You can taxi to the house. - WIFI is coming! Not set up yet. - Long driveway leads up to house, privacy galore!
The cabin is next to forest. Wildlife visitors include deer, wild turkey, chipmunk, birds of all kinds. Two miles down the road is Route 9, with a deli, called The B and L, a lovely farm market called Vera's, and a hip coffee house. Cold Spring Village offers antiques, restaurants, and more. Fishkill is north and has larger stores, including a Home Depot and a Shop-Rite.
  • This is a rustic cottage in a beautiful setting. We visited area attractions and took the train into New York for the day. The screened porch is a great place for playing cards, enjoying a meal, or just watching the chipmunks and squirrels. We hope to return next fall.

  • If you are looking for a magical place on a mountain top with a majestic view, then this is the destination for you! Not only was this sweet cabin convenient yet private and charming. The history it holds and the location are second to none. You will find trails located down the mountain side that are not used by anyone but yourself. It was a wonderful retreat we had with our children and I would love to have a stay just by myself to work on long put-off projects. We truly loved this cabin. The first night I had the unexpected visit of my probably one and only flying squirrel. There were a family of turkeys that would roam through the yard, and the best thing was a kestrel hawk that would perch on the tree right off of the front porch; not only one kestrel, but two believe it or not! We loved it here and are so happy we somehow found this place. Truly a one of a kind, once in a lifetime cabin. Its hard to compare this gem to anything else, since I didn't think a place like this still existed that would be available to others. If it was my house, I'd keep this to myself!

  • The host was not there since she lived in CA, but she coordinated with a local property manager very well, so we didn't have any communication problems. Our whole family (family of 5 incl. 3-young children) stayed at Ellen's cabin for 38 nights, and she made us feel very welcomed with personal greetings. Ellen was very thorough with the rules in the cabin which helped guide our children to be careful with her property. It was green everywhere, and so private. The mountain view from the front porch is a million dollar view! The cabin stayed pretty cool most of the time (from mid Aug.- end Sep.). There were extra beddings/towels to use. When a problem arouse, I contacted Ellen, and she responded within 30 minutes. She, her local property manager, and I could solve the issue so promptly. The next door neighbor came by, and welcomed us. - Very nice/sweet couple. Our children could explore/hike the mountain, and we could visit nearby sightseeing places (Taconic Outdoor Education Center, Hudson River from Cold Spring, Buddhist Monastery, Fishkill shopping/dining) - The cabin was perfectly located for family-friendly way. We saw a deer, a few chipmunks, a goat, a wild Turkey - feeling like a natural zoo here! By the time we left, the fall color was starting to paint the surrounding mountains. It's just a beautiful place there. Wonderful experience for entire family!! Thank you so much, Ellen!!

  • Great host, great place. Perfect for a night or two getaway. Left treats in the place for us and was always easy to get in touch with!

  • There is not much to add, basically every positive thing you can see in previous reviews is true. Lorelei is one of the most accommodating hosts you will ever experience. Our stay was perfect. Thanks again!

    Ari2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The host was awesome and accommodating. The spot was safe like a ritz Carlton inside of Fort Knox. Awesome cute chickens out front, a great spacious bathroom and a comfy bed. She didn't need to leave us a whole chocolate bar on the pillow and fresh fruit, but all that was there! Amazing experience worth every penny

    Karl2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures and description accurately describe the place. It was super clean and easy to find. The host provided clear directions and "rules," so there were no surprises. The place was a bit further from Cold Spring than I had thought, but since we had a car and were not in a big hurry, it was no problem. The shower was amazing! (double spout...hot and good pressure - I love a good shower if you can't tell!). The host also left delicious apple cider donuts, a big chocolate bar, and delicious coffee. We did not spend much time at all in the place...but slept like babies. It was very quiet and DARK! The host warned us that it might get chilly at night...and it did. It would have been nice to have more heat, but we made due with the fluffy comforters.

  • The place was very quiet and charming. Well maintained and adorable. We enjoyed our stay. Our girls thoroughly enjoys the doughnuts☺️

    dana2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little gem for the Hudson valley explorer! At first impression, it seems a little Spartan but the bed and couch are quite comfortable and the shower is fabulous. Lorelei, the host, has left all kinds of little touches to make it wonderful . My son and I had the perfect little escape (for him) from the rigors of West Point. Definitely would come back.

    Ron2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Small room in a quiet location. Great for a short stay, but there is no television or very much space especially with more than 3 people. Didn't meet the host in person, but she was great with quick and helpful responses! There were also chickens on the property that we were able to feed and even got some fresh eggs from the host's husband. Overall a very nice place to stay for a couple of nights.

  • This is the second time we have rented this wonderful cottage. It is only minutes from Cold Spring, nestled in the woods with a huge yard in a quiet neighborhood. My family spent a fun weekend here and everything was perfectly comfortable and homey. During the day we played frisbee in the yard and enjoyed hikes near by. We had a fun night hanging out in the living room on the cozy couch watching movies on a large screen TV. The kitchen is large and open, great for making meals and hanging out. This place is a great deal and we plan to come back soon.

  • We loved our stay at Branis's house! It was a perfect setting for a quiet getaway weekend with friends. The house is cozy and well-stocked, located on a pretty piece of land just a short drive from Cold Spring. Definitely recommend it!

    Katharine2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really liked our weekend at Branis' house. We were met by the host personally and liked the whole stay. The place is really chilling, there is a nice garden and lot of amenities for children. Also the contact with Branis was really fast and she could help us with anything. Thanks for hosting us!

    Mateusz2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic home if you have a mid-large sized group. We absolutely loved the large mahogany wooden picnic dining table! It was the epicenter for all of our activities during our stay: eating, games, and making crafts. It was a comfy abode but still spacious enough for everyone to have their own personal space. I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in visiting Cold Spring!

    Felix Gabriel2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our very first Airbnb, great host and cannot find a single reason to say otherwise! We will certainly return again.

    Barbara2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • This home was everything we could've asked for when looking for a relaxing weekend. Close to town. Branis was unbelievably accommodating and great at communicating before and during our stay.

    Alex2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, clean, great lawn for outdoor activities and kitchen well supplied. Our first experience and it was super!

    Melanie2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I have stayed at many Airbnb homes, and this home gets top rating from us for being comfortable and very clean. The rooms are stylishly furnished, and the house is located in a quiet wooded neighborhood less than 15 minutes from Cold Spring and Beacon. The photos don’t do this house justice. The living room is great for hanging out in, with large windows, a fireplace, a big new sectional sofa, and a sharp wall-mounted TV. The kitchen is big and open, convenient for what we needed, and there is a very tempting waffle iron ready to use. The queen bed is amazingly comfortable. The WIFI is easy to access and strong. If it had been a rainy weekend, we were in the right spot to settle in and take it easy. There was plenty of lawn and good areas to sit outside to grill or relax in lawn chairs. Approaching the front door at night was easy due to the walkway and motion detector lights. We'd highly recommend this place and look forward to re-booking in the future.

  • Ruben is an amazing host. We stayed for a 4 day weekend and wished we had more days to stay! The property and house are both perfect. Very clean. The pool is heated. Plenty of tables, lounge chairs and even a fire pit. Great for a weekend away from our regular grind. We brought our 1 year old chocolate lab. She had a great time too. There is a closed in dog run on property. Ruben's dogs were friendly and they all got along great. We can not wait to go back!

    Frankie2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ruben's cabana in Cold Spring (along with his entire property) is magnificent! You drive up a long, dirt country road where there is a pond across the street from his private, unique estate and instantly are decompressed from city life. The cabana is next to a fabulous pool, so I definitely plan on going back in the summer! I was so impressed with the cleanliness, warmth, and overall vibe of this place. So much more than I ever expected! Thank you Ruben!

    Paula2017-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful property with large pool and mature grounds. We stayed in the cabana studio which was fine for 3 people. Ideal for those with a dog for Rubens dogs are so friendly. You can have them play together or be in a separate area. Ruben could not have been more accommodating and was a very attentive and gracious host. Ideal location 5 minute drive from Cold Spring. We had a very quiet and lovely stay.

  • Great stay at Ruben's! Beautiful location and very relaxing.

  • I rented this home with my brother and sister as a few day escape from the city. Ruben was incredibly welcoming and flexible. There was a scheduling mishap so we got to stay in the lovely main house instead of the guest house. Fire places for days! We loved this home and would definitely recommend.

    Laura2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! I spent one night at Ruben's place with my family for my mom's birthday and Ruben was an awesome host, communication was great, he did everything to make us comfortable and his place is absolutely beautiful and peaceful with a large pool. I highly recommend!

    Jessica2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ruben was a great host. He was there if we had any questions. Our two dogs loved it and his three dogs were very friendly. There was a little town with cute shops and restaurants and amazing hiking trails just 7 minutes away. Definitely would stay again!

Your own private entrance through lovely private stone courtyard with your own seating area and barbecue gas grill, cozy room with comfortable queen bed, private bathroom, kitchenette, wifi and all amenities. Steps from your door, beautiful peaceful private lake and miles of Hudson Highlands hiking trails. Short 10 to 15 min. drive to picturesque village of Cold Spring and train station, Dia Museum and galleries in Beacon, and more. One or two adults (with one child okay).
To find things to do, go on the internet: look for "tripadvisor" click on "Things to do" and then "Things to Do in Hudson River Valley NY" there is allot of info for this area.
  • My girlfriend and I had a great time. Helmut was extremely hospitable providing rides to and from the train station and offering vegetables from his garden and eggs from his chickens.

    Noriel2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect if you want a private get away. The room is separate from the house with a private entrance, so we felt we could come and go as we pleased. While I was a little hesitant about there being no keys (being a city person), the neighborhood hardly had any people walking around and I felt perfectly safe leaving my things. The lake the a short (about two minutes) walk from the house. We did it once at night and once during the day. It was too cold to swim, but the opportunity is there (no life guards)! Cold Spring is about a 10 minute drive- that's where the closest amenities are (restaurants, bars, etc). There is a little kitchen in the space though, so you can bring your own food to cook etc. There are a variety of hikes all around the area. You do need a car to stay here. Overall, the space was clean and well priced- perfect for a couple nights away!

  • We were in town for a few days to attend the Hudson Valley Shakespeare festival - and the location for us was perfect - we had the opportunity to experience our fantasy of having a country retreat while being so close to the Boscobel grounds and "downtown" Cold Spring (less than a 10 minute drive). Our hosts were extremely easy to communicate with and the farmhouse itself was charming. The linens were soft and the kitchen was completely equipped.

With mountain views and rustic charm, this fully restored 1930's German cottage style home is the perfect quiet retreat with lake. Magical forest setting. Home sleeps 4. Best for small group or couple with children. Must respect neighbors and community areas, not for loud or invited group parties. Large deck with BBQ. Community lake is gorgeous and is 5 min walk along with tennis court. Artistic and beautifully furnished. NYC train accessible. Historic area, great day trips/hiking.
  • The neighborhood was beautiful and the lake was great as well. However, we did have some issues with the neighbors. They were not the most welcoming people.

  • Beautiful get-away cabin! The location is great if you want to feel secluded but not far from town- could not ask for a better surrounding. Gorgeous lake & trails, along with a spacious home & everything you need to cook and enjoy a true quiet getaway in nature! Chris had plenty of clean linens and towels for use. And even had a folder with all kinds of info about the home & local are! He also had left a bottle of wine with a welcome card! Checkin could not have been easier & his communication was great. Everything was exactly as he said it would be! Sleeping accommodations are great for a couple. VERY spacious home but only one true bedroom. There is pull out bed/couch In the main living room. Very clean sheets, towels, kitchen, & bath. It's a great cabin in the woods so it does have a slight "musty" cabin smell when you first go in but after the windows were open it was fine! Maybe a bit challenging if you have bad allergies but don't let that keep you from booking this home. Just bring your Flonase! Definitely bring a swim suit if it's summer! Amazing secluded lake and lake front to enjoy! Overall this is a great rental choice to enjoy a quiet vacation!

  • This cozy cabin in the woods was the perfect weekend getaway. The lake and town of Cold Spring are very close to the cabin and both are equally as charming. Highly recommend staying here. Also, make sure to get the Texas barbq just down the road. It's amazing.

    Alexis2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This experience was pure relaxation. Chris is very communicative and accessible. Amenities like BBQ, Netflix, bluetooth Bose speaker, and nice kitchen are a plus. This is a beyond charming cabin with eclectic furniture and rugs (read: aesthetically pleasing) nestled in a quiet and private community up in the highlands (read: cool mountain air) just an hour from the city. The private (to the community) lake is a short 2 minute walk away and the spring fed water is clean and perfection for swimming. This is the perfect spot for that weekend country getaway you fantasize about having. While there are neighboring houses, between the foliage and the natural sloping, the space actually feels quite secluded. I would recommend to friends and would stay again in a heart beat.

    Mike2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Chris' cabin in Cold Springs. This is an amazing community build in the 30s with historic cabins and houses. We took the Metro North up from NYC and then took a cab the 5 miles to Chris' house. We were without a car but it was easy to arrange a cab and once we were the it was an nice mile or two down to local stores and pizza place. We met some of the neighbors and they were very helpful (including a ride from town when we got caught in the rain). Great fall weather and colors.

    Bob2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was very accommodating and did an outstanding job as a host.

    Victor2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • House and surroundings were beautiful, exceeding expectations. The house had every possible comfort. We had a blast grilling steaks and veggies and eating most meals on the deck. We were taking a working holiday and appreciated separate working spaces, each with amazing views, and good Internet connectivity.

    Anne2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I travelled with our 2 year old daughter. This is a beautiful home in a scenic and serene wooded environment. The kitchen is modern and well appointed, bathroom has a big clean newly renovated tub and shower, sink + fixtures etc, and the rest of the house has a cabinesque vibe with lots of windows (and light). Great places to work, a big elevated deck with a nice bbq, high speed internet (which feels a bit of a luxury considering how remote the location feels), musical instruments to play with -- just comfortable surroundings all about. The nearby towns have local produce and meats, good wine shops, and there are hikes and outdoor adventures everywhere, and all within a short drive. I could go on for awhile -- I'd love to go back!

  • Laura's loft is exactly as described and photographed. She is an amazing host and made us feel very welcomed. I would recommend this loft to anyone spending time in Hudson Valley. We loved the light and the airiness of the space. It is super safe, and clean. Laura stocks a lot of fresh provisions, and you can also get more at Vera's -- an organic/natural market with great coffee + baked goods and a high-end meat shop just a stone's throw away, too!

Some come for the old charm of Main Street in Cold Spring, nestled on the Hudson River between the mountains of the Hudson Highlands, with its local shops and eateries, others for the history and culture, such as Boscobel, Manitoga, Stonecrop Gardens, the Dia, and the Storm King Art Museum, while others come for the natural beauty of the heart of the Hudson Valley. There is always something to do, from our local theaters, restaurants, (we love Hudson Hil's and Riverview) and small businesses, like Hudson Valley Expeditions' kayaking adventures and, of course, nature offers 27 hiking trails, including one of the top 10 in the country, Breakneck Ridge and an array of beautiful scenery year round. For amenities, nearby Vera's Farm Market offers great donuts and now includes Marbled Meats and the Cold Spring Coffee Pantry. Alternatively, our local Foodtown has everything, and nice folks too. Yannatelli's wine and liquors has it. Cold Spring is a wonderful community set in one of the most beautiful areas in the world.
  • John/Debbi were a pleasure to rent from. When I arrived, the property manager was waiting for me. She showed me around the property and explained how to use the various amenities. This process was extremely helpful and saved me a lot of time. The house and property itself is spectacular. The facilities all work and are in perfect condition. The house sits in a secluded wooded area with places to explore, including a large state pond. Nearby, in Cold Spring, there are a few trails to hike and not worth missing. The town is also very cute, with some great restaurants and cafes. Our total group was 12 people. It was a great house to rent and I would do so again in a heartbeat. If you're considering this lovely home, don't think twice!

  • Debbi and John's home was a perfect location for us to spend the weekend with friends with enough bedrooms and outdoor space for everyone to be able to spread out and enjoy ourselves. We loved grilling and eating outdoors with everyone, and spent our afternoons lounging by the pool. The house is a quick drive from downtown and the train station and shopping, and very close to the Pantry for great coffee and local produce. We would definitely return.

  • The house and grounds are beautiful and amazing and make the perfect place to stay and catch up with friends or family. Debbi and the property manager Cindy were helpful and super nice to accommodate myself and my guests and I would definitely stay there again!

  • I came here with a large group, and we had a blast. This house is amazing and came with everything we could ever need for a great weekend, and the owners were tremendously helpful in making sure that my friends and I were comfortable. I would recommend this house to anyone.

    Daniel2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • My colleagues and I had a perfect stay at Debbi's beautiful home. The house and grounds are even more stunning than the pictures, from the lush green, blossoming peonies and koi pond to the gorgeous and clean facilities including pool, hot tub, fire pit, grill and tennis court/shuffle board. The beds are clean and comfortable and the kitchen is fully operational and we enjoyed cooking and eating all together. The property has an ideal secluded feel while being easily accessible to the train, town, and hiking trails. It was big enough with varied enough environments and activities that every person in the group could do exactly what felt right for them. The house is inviting and lovely, and we felt so lucky just to be there. It made for an unforgettable weekend. Debbi was super responsive to inquiries (nothing went wrong so there was no need to get in touch with her other than for check in). I would highly recommend this place for groups and definitely would go back.

  • My friends and I had an amazing stay here. The home is gorgeous and packed with just about everything you might want to do, from the pool and hot tub to the basketball and tennis courts to the music room and game room. Everything was even better than it looks in the photos. Debbi and John were there to greet us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the grounds. They are wonderful hosts and answered our questions quickly when we had them over the weekend. Hopefully we can stay here again one day!

    Melanie2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Debbi's place. The house was rented for a company retreat and the quietness, facilities, and location were exceptional. Thanks!

Fully furnished cottage sleeps 2-3 (4 if you don't mind getting very cozy). Nestled in three wooded acres in the Hudson Highlands. Separate from main house which is also on the property. Beautiful wooded area 5 minutes from Cold Spring village. Close to state parks. Walking distance to Breakneck trailhead.
Full disclosure: We live on the property, in the woods. This is not a stand alone cottage in the middle of the woods. It is part of our property, separate from the main house but still visible from our home. We have no reason to be in or around the cottage during your stay, unless you request our help with anything. We live in the woods. This means there will definitely be spiders, you can count on that. We respond quickly to requests regarding cleanliness or general housekeeping concerns, please communicate any issues and you can be sure we will respond. The cottage floors are completely tile, this allows us to remain pet friendly but it also means that on damp days there may be moisture build up on the floors. We provide fans and humidifiers if this is the case, in two summers of hosting it was an issue only twice. The area we live in is very shady (again, woods) and we are on the east side of the mountain. This means it will be cool in the summer and the sun sets at our house about two hours before it sets on the river side of town. For winter rentals this means the it will start to get dark as early as 3pm. This is not the place for folks who prefer a sterile hotel-like environment. We keep the place clean, we provide all the necessities and more upon request. We expect that guests that stay with us are looking to enjoy what the area has to offer in the way of outdoor activities and an escape from city life. We don't require a lot from our guests and stick to Airbnb suggested rates for our area and don't overcharge a cleaning fee or additional guest/linen fees. We do not raise rates to reflect local hotel prices. The hotels nearby (all on a major highway) average $120 in the dead of winter and can get up to $400 per night in the high season and on certain holidays. This cottage is for folks who want to enjoy the outdoors, nap in a hammock next to the firepit, have direct access to Breakneck trail network, cook dinner in a full kitchen or grill outdoors. If you are expecting a hotel setting this is not the place for you. WE LOVE DOGS! (and don't gauge prices when you bring yours along) Bottom line it is a simple place that is close enough to everything while feeling as if it is in the middle of nowhere. At night you will definitely hear the calls of coyote, owls and fisher cats (the fisher cats sounds are pretty frightening, don't be alarmed they don't get close) and you will wake up to the sounds of the most beautiful bird calls. The details: Total square footage of cottage: 550 Bedroom: Comfortable queen size bed Full closet with rod and shelf storage Windows overlooking woods Nightstand w/ reading lamp Living/Dining Room: Futon (sleeps 2, cozied up) Dining table Books Kitchen: All flatware, glassware and silverware All cooking utensils, pots and pans Full fridge + freezer Full oven + stove Toaster Coffee pot Other small appliances available upon request Bathroom: Double wide shower stall Spacious room with window All linens provided
We love that we drive to our sweet little Hudson River town in five minutes in one direction, can catch a movie in five minutes in the other direction or walk to a trail and get lost in the woods all day.
  • Lisa's cottage was the perfect upstate getaway. Conveniently located near Dia:Beacon and Storm King and situated in a beautiful tree dense neighborhood. Lisa was an attentive and accommodating host who was quick to give us suggestions on a nearby hike. My partner and I ate our meals outside at the cute bistro table on the patio and the kitchen spacious and perfect for people who love to cook.

    Rachael2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic hosts, great little getaway, highly suggest this place and the couple that own it.

    Karl2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • I rented Lisa's place for the weekend when my parents were coming to visit from Florida. We arrived pretty late at night and Lisa was nice enough to leave the door unlocked and the keys on the table. We didn't meet her during our stay. Overall, I would say the place is okay; smaller than it looks like on the pictures. I would say the size is perfect for a couple, but anything more, and the place gets a bit cramped. The biggest drawback for me though was that it wasn't as clean as I would've liked. I don't believe the floors were cleaned prior to our arrival; our shoes kept sticking to the floor as we walked around. Someone had left an empty beer can in the kitchen sink, hair in the shower. It was definitely in need of some TLC as the paint had chipped in a lot of places, spider webs on the ceiling and around the chairs out on the porch. We had booked the place from Friday night to Sunday, but decided to leave Saturday evening and just make the drive back to NYC instead. I think if the host takes the time to spruce up the place a bit, it wouldn't be a bad place to visit for a weekend. It just unfortunately wasn't for us this time...

  • Review from a solo traveler with no car. I needed a break from the city before I lost my wits forever. This was the perfect place for me -- the Metro North deposited me in Cold Spring and I took a cab up to the cottage ($11 - $15). The forest is outside the cottage windows. Peaceful. Private. At night the wind in the trees, and various creature sounds, is all you can hear. Otherwise it's silent. From the cottage you can walk about 35 mins to amenities if you don't mind walking along highways or country roads with no sidewalk. The township of Cold Spring is a longer walk. The big benefit though are the hiking trails that begin a short walk up the road from the cottage. The trails are well-marked and it's a nice 2.5 hrs to Beacon through the woods (and Dia:Beacon is another 30 mins walk once you get there). Cab back from Beacon cost about $25-$30. There are lots of other beautiful trails too leading off from the main trailhead. I was happy to spend hours exploring the trail system. Great stuff. Chris provided me with a couple of grocery packages. This food really made me happy, top quality meats and cheeses, bread and butter, and a few surprises too. Thanks Chris. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook. Every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was a treat. If you need a break from the city, want some time to yourself, you love the woods, don't have a car and love to walk and go on adventures, this is a great choice. I'll definitely be coming back.

  • Great stay - relaxing, comfortable, and restorative. And they even threw in some delicious dinner when we were snowed in. Thanks guys!

  • This cottage was in such a beautiful location and so peaceful. The leaves were just starting to turn in this area and we felt lucky to see it. There were quite a few ants and other small insects. The floors seemed a little sticky & a little dirty. Nothing too worrisome as we enjoyed our stay. We felt it was slightly overpriced.

    Adelaide2016-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Lisa's cottage! Lisa was super accommodating and friendly-she picked up some local groceries for us upon request and they were all delicious-and the cottage itself is as awesome as it looks in the listing. My friends, my dog and I made great use of all the amenities. We walked to a nearby trail for hiking, lit a fire in the fire pit, watched movies with the provided projector and cooked all our meals in the cottage's sizable kitchen. We'd definitely recommend staying here!

Choose Elephant Belly and experience a peaceful home where you will find loving kindness, quietude and wholeness. Connect with nature here to deeply refresh your heart and soul. Come and enjoy the sunset over Mount Taurus while swaying in the hammock, fall asleep with the gentle sounds of the forest, wake and breathe in the fresh morning air. Take a break from the ordinary at this Vegan and Sober Sanctuary. It is our honor to share with you, our guests, the love and magic that is Elephant Belly.
Welcome (Back!) to Elephant Belly Elephant Belly Cold Spring is a magical home in the Hudson Highlands, just 50 miles from NYC. It is a safe space to rest and recover, to practice and sit, to play and create. Alicia and Leslie Leeds Meyers welcome you to enjoy the peace and quietude, to share this space in Ahimsa, Gratitude and Love. Join us and nurture yourself. Come and find your bliss. Elephant Belly is also the home of two dogs (the Doodlez) - Monroe, a 14 year old ShihTzu Poodle mix who loves to play ball and eat cookies, and Chloe, a 7 year old pure bred ShihTzu rescue who loves to be carried in a backpack and sit on her mom's lap all day. Two rescued bunnies and a flock of rescued hens greet all comers near the drive; they'll always gladly accept a slice of apple or a handful of dandelion greens. The home was designed in 1973. It rests above a deep gorge overlooking a freshwater brook which flows year round over natural waterfalls. The view from the back of the home is of Mt Taurus, one of the jewels of the Hudson Highlands and a popular hiking destination for many New Yorkers. The forest stretches as far as the eye can see. An open floor plan with plenty of natural light gives the home a distinct feeling of serenity and communion with nature. Lots of common areas offer plenty of space to curl up with a book, roll out your yoga mat, or just do nothing at all. The first level of the home features a three season Solarium and a Yoga Studio. In the spring, summer and fall, the Solarium is a delightful place to rest, read and create. Sink into comfy furniture and take a nap beneath the gentle breeze of the ceiling fan. Watch the moonrise through the glass roof while listening to the sounds of rushing water below. The Yoga Studio is an open, common space to meditate and practice yoga. You can also work out with weights, balls, or straps, stretch on the ballet barre, or to simply rest in Sivasana. Mats, foam roller, exercise equipment and hula hoops are available for your use. The entire second level is the heart and soul of the home – the kitchen. Enjoy a complimentary wholesome continental breakfast with fresh fruit and grains, a selection of tea and coffee. Compassionate, healthy whole food is always on the menu at Elephant Belly. The top level offers a guest room featuring a beautiful view of the mountains. The room is simply appointed affording you plenty of unencumbered space to unpack and feel right at home. Also available to you is a bright cozy reading nook with a great view of the kitchen below. The guest wing features a shared bath with high ceilings, beautiful light and fresh, organic bath products. Outside, there is plenty of space to breathe in fresh mountain air. Take a hike into the gorge, or follow Jaycox Road down to the hidden pond where time seems to stand still. Choose to embark upon a walking meditation in the circular garden or let the cleansing powers of the brook wash your cares away. Practice yoga on the deck out back, spend time with the chickens and the bunnies, or just swing in the hammock and let the day unfold. Only a little more than an hour from NYC, your retreat awaits.
The Village of Cold Spring is easily accessible from major highways and the Hudson Line of Metro-North Railroad. Cold Spring offers a wide range of recreational and cultural diversion, as well as fine culinary choices from good pizza and baked goods to some of the finest restaurants in the Hudson Valley. Visitors can browse through our unique shops, take historic tours or simply enjoy the breathtaking surroundings. Residents and tourists alike take advantage of a variety of outdoor activities such as boating, hiking, cycling and kayaking. For those seeking leisure and relaxation, there is plenty of quiet space at our picturesque waterfront and in our well maintained parks.
  • If you are looking for a place to restore energy, get some rest and be inspired, this Heaven is for you. You will get so much more than just a nice Airbnb experience. The property as a whole is amazing, my room was beautiful and cozy. Leslie and Alicia are fun to have around, and you should follow Leslie's leads. She knows. A nice walk, and a beautiful pond, the beautiful village of Cold Spring... I have already said, Heaven. I wish I could move in.. I will definitely come back. Soon. Thank you so much Leslie & Alicia for unforgettable vacation.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Leslie’s home. It is a large space set up as a retreat center with a yoga/meditation room. The space is shared with Leslie and several others. We joined the group for a friendly breakfast in the well-stocked kitchen. The home is very clean, beautifully set up and comfortable. Our room was comfortable and the shared bathroom was clean and right across the hall from the room. The house's two small dogs are friendly and quiet. We enjoyed interesting conversations with Leslie and friends but did not feel any pressure to interact more or less than we wished. We would definitely recommend staying here and would come back.

  • I’ve wondered how I was going to word such a lovely experience. It is safe to say that Leslie and Alicia were the most welcoming of hosts. I came into Cold Spring for a much needed, last minute, hiking getaway. Leslie was very prompt in all her responses. She picked me up from the days hike and even invited me for a delicious vegan dinner. They provided a warm and clean bed to rest my head. But best of all they provided me with such lively, honest, and present company. This was more than just a place to stay; it was truly an exquisite encountering. Their home is magical, their spirit colorful, and their hearts open. I cannot recommend them enough to all AirBnB guests! I promise, it’ll be so much more than what you thought you needed. PS. Birds dress these two in the morning, that is how lovely they are.

  • I booked a getaway in Leslie's and Alicia's home as part of a Valentine's present for my girlfriend (she's vegeterian) so we can deattach from technology and treat ourselves to some peace and quiet time. We were very pleased with the whole expience from beginning to end and with the warm hospitality of both Leslie and Alicia. They're very wonderful people and the place has such good energy. We ate amazing vegan food, specially prepared for us, we relaxed and read books. The town is really pretty, we got to see some antique shops. Our whole experience was wonderful. Both me and my girl will be looking forward to our next visit

  • This was a really good trip. I enjoyed myself in a quiet sort of way. I think this is a very good choice for peaceful relaxation. In addition, there is nature in abundance to be found. I found the hosts to be quite engaging in conversations. I recommend this as a place to stay.

    donald2016-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie and Alicia were extremely welcoming and gracious hosts. Leslie picked my friend and me up in town. We were warmly greeted off the bat and invited to a delicious dinner cooked with love by Alicia. This is an ideal destination spot if you are looking to wind down and relax for a few days in a peaceful, warm, and respectful environment. Leslie and Alicia go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. After dropping us off at the train station heading back to Manhattan, my friend realized she left her sunglasses at Elephant Belly. Alicia went back, grabbed the glasses, and brought them back to my friend just moments before the train arrived. They're best!

    Nora2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie and Alicia were just as lovely as the other reviews described. We had a great stay, it was a fabulous environment to relax in after a wedding. There are great spaces to use - like the yoga studio and a communal lounge with DVDs etc. Everything you could want in an airbnb place - great hosts, comfy space, clean room, tasty food.

  • Leslie made us feel so welcome ! I had the best vacation - wonderful food, a great place to work out, do yoga, meditate, and do art! I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was ! Can't wait to go back

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Roxanne's home - the house is in a beautiful, serene location - close to walking paths and beautiful Cold Spring - and is incredibly comfortable. We made use of the very functional kitchen and enjoyed all of the communal living space. Our doggies enjoyed their stay as well. Roxanne was appropriately communicative and very responsive. We would certainly stay here again! Thank you, Roxanne!

  • It's quite a beautiful house surrounded by the woods and such close to nature . 10 minutes drive to the supermarket and restaurants and 5 minutes walk to waterside. There is also trails nearby. House is big and comfortable.

  • Our family of 6 stayed at Roxanne's in early October. We had a wonderful stay -- the house was super comfortable for all of us and had everything we needed. It's conveniently located close to Cold Spring and other attractions but tucked away so it's quiet and tranquil. Would recommend this to any large family or group looking for a cozy, comfortable getaway.

  • We had a wonderful weekend up in Cold Springs for the weekend. We enjoyed many meals around the big wooden kitchen table and the fireplace. A beautiful spot.

  • My friends/family and I came here for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Roxanne was very accommodating with check in and check out times. She also allowed us to have two extra guests for the night of Thanksgiving and we were able to have dinner for 9. The open concept kitchen was perfect for hosting. The home itself is beautiful too! Tons of natural sunlight in the house. The rooms are very clean. Roxanne is very quick to respond. We had a slight issue with the dishwasher and she quickly responded to help. We would love to come back to this house again!

    Elaine2014-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Roxanne's house was everything we needed for a weekend getaway from the city. Very functional kitchen/grill, amazing trails to hike nearby, and Beacon is a short drive away.

Waterfall. Across road from Hudson Highlands Park. 10 minute walk to Cold Spring. 5 minute drive to train station. @1 hour from NYC.
    A perfect country get away/retreat for 1 - 8 people
Property is situated in a wooded valley between two Hudson Highland mountains close to Cold Spring - which is across the Hudson River from West Point.
  • Great host, very welcoming and helpful. He gave us a walk around the property and house when we arrived, then checked in with us mid-stay to make sure we were doing okay. We very much enjoyed the acreage, fire pit and outdoor seating, including large covered patio. The house is old and quirky. Doors and windows sometimes stick and one section of floor heaved a bit. Lots of interesting features, including a library with a sofa bed that makes a fourth bedroom. Easily accommodated our party of five adults. We did not cook (toast and coffee only), but kitchen seemed to have all essentials. Must drive to Cold Spring, not walkable.

  • Very nice cottage in a wonderful and quiet property. We had a great timr with family and friends. David was responsive and helpful.

  • We had such a wonderful time at David's house. David and his two beautiful labs welcomed us and gave us a thorough tour of his stunning property. There was even a "Happy Birthday" banner hanging from the fireplace when I walked in... There is a little boat and a couple of canoes that we got to use. We just sat on them, at night, and looked at the stars - it was bliss! We used the fire pit in the evening and roasted some marshmallows... The kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need, we made very good use of it. When asking my friends for any feedback they mentioned the house was a little cold - it's fall so the heaters weren't on yet - and that the floors, especially carpets, needed a good clean. Regardless, everyone had an amazing time here...

    Morgan2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very old house. Very dark and dusty. No central air, back door broken and wouldn't close. Very cluttered and ants in kitchen around dog bowls that were not put away. No room in kitchen or bathroom for personal food or personal items. Host very very nice but needs a professional cleaner. Very cluttered, musty and dusty. Beautiful property.

  • This was a last minute week-end booking for us and David was very accommodating and helpful. The house is nestled in a wooded area with a large pond in front where you can enjoy small kayaking trips. It's also a very short driving distance from Cold Spring with antique stores and several quaint little shops and restaurants. The house is a little rustic, 'no frills', and grounds overall well maintained with hiking areas into the woods.

Our Nerd Room. We are just an hour outside NYC or a short train ride. Visit a friend in the area or ride into the city. We live in a very lovely mountain area surrounded by woods and historical rock walls built by... no one is sure who or when.
Near the city without being in the city State Parks-hiking nearby Public transportation is not within walking distance, sorry.
It is beautiful here with nature all around and so easy to go into the city for a show or shopping. • Chandra and her family were all great hosts! She provided me and my bf great tips on hiking and local eateries to check out. Her fur babies were also quite welcoming, especially her pupper, such a good girl who loves all the doggy hugs! Her property is located in the woods near great hiking trails and places to explore. If you’re outdoorsy and into dogs and cats, this is definitely the Airbnb for you!

  • We were in Putnam Valley for a quick overnight and Chandra was a great host. She provided snacks, water, and a TV with lots of sci-fi and superhero movies available. The room was able to accommodate three of us with an air mattress on the floor, and we could come and go as we pleased. We also loved meeting Chandra's pets. If we had more time we would have loved to explore the surrounding woods and local lakes which also border a Boy Scouts camp.

  • Venetia was very responsive and helpful and she waited at the house for us on Friday night. There was breakfast in the fridge and the place is very comfortable, clean and has a good location.

  • Venetia was a wonderful, accommodating hostess with a fabulous home. In search of a Labor Day weekend getaway, this house provided us with the perfect secluded setting, which included an awesome outdoor patio and spacious rooms, just a short drive from Cold Spring, Philipstown, Breakneck Ridge and Bear Mountain. Our experience matched the photos, description and other reviews, one which we cannot in any way fault. Thank you again!

  • It was a wonderful house and Venetia was so nice and helpful! I absolutely loved every minute of my stay there.

  • Beautiful home!

    Karen2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really wonderful time at Venetia's house. We were 5 girls renting the house for a get-together. The house was exactly as pictured. It was spacious, with 2 large beds, one single bed, and a very large couch that can easily be used to sleep. It was immaculate and beautiful, with an awesome back porch. Less than 10 min drive to Cold Spring. Venetia was super accommodating. My friends and I got there after 10 PM and she was very gracious about our late arrival. She left the fridge stocked with all manner of food for us. Just a lovely experience. Probably the best Airbnb experience I've every had. Thank you Venetia.

    Sara2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Three letters describe our experience with Venetia - Wow! Three classmates and I stayed with Venetia while visiting the Garrison area for our 10-year college reunion and everything was amazing. Venetia greeted us upon arrival with the house in immaculate order. She had numerous amenities that we were not expecting, which made the stay exceedingly enjoyable. The mix of proximity, hospitality, amenities and facilities made Venetia's home a great value and if she is still in the Airbnb game when our next reunion rolls around, we will definitely try to stay with her again. 10/10!

    Christopher2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Venetia was a lovely hostess. She went out of her way to make us feel at home. The house is absolutely gorgeous, with a beautiful view of the trees, and it's a perfect retreat site. We'd love to return. We've had such positive experiences overall, and this one was definitely in the top three. We have already recommended her and her home to several people!

  • This modern home in the woods was unbelievably clean and beautiful. It provided all the amenities that my friends and I needed for our weekend stay. We especially liked the fire pit and fireplace (perfect for the NY fall weather). The beds were VERY comfortable, and the lights and temperature in each room was adjustable to everyone’s personal liking. Shawna was a terrific host! She was responsive, easily reached via text messaging. She was very helpful whenever I had a question about the house. We visited at the right time, as the scenery was magnificent, with the colorful foliage. We hope to return in the summer when the pool is open. Thanks for giving my friends and I this wonderful experience!!

    Madonna2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful house that was just perfect to enjoy fall days with the beautiful tree colours and fall evenings with a cozy fire. There was also numerous entertainment for the kids too both inside and out. It was really easy to get to but secluded too, which was great. Shawna was incredibly responsive to any questions and very helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

    Catherine2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • First, I must say that the hosts Lizzie & Andy are super helpful, prompt and gracious about an earlier check in, easily reachable during the stay and patient with changes and answering questions. The home itself is ABSOLUTELY wonderful - a true example of how incredible Airbnb is as a service. I would highly recommend this house to anyone and already have. In order to be fair I do feel like people should be aware of the additional costs involved that are in fairness to Lizzie & Andy mentioned somewhere on the page but aren't crystal clear from simply looking at the advertised price. The price of this house isn't ALL inclusive. - The house has 5 bedrooms (of which 2 are king beds, 2 are queen beds and the last is 2 bunk beds) and 3 bathroom but when you rent the entire house you still have to pay for every guest in addition of 6. - In addition to that, if your guests exceed 6 but NOT for the entire stay you are still expected to pay for the total number exceeded for the ENTIRE stay. - - Last but not least if the group exceeds 6 (ours was 7 adults and an infant) the infant will be charged the same additional fee as an adult. As per my understanding a house price is set by location, quality as well as size as was set on this house. The house has 5 bedrooms assuming double occupancy atleast on the 2 king beds and yet one has to pay for more than 6 people AFTER renting the entire house. From a renters perspective that feels like a king hotel room asking you to pay for an additional charge for the second guest. Either the original price of the house should then be adjusted down or then the additional charge should be for a group in excess of the basic occupancy of the bedrooms. I fully understand that from the owners perspective it is to safe guard the house from very large groups from a damage and care perspective but I hope in time they can find a somewhat fairer middle ground. Thanks.

  • We truly enjoyed our stay, we were a group of 10 people for a short work retreat and the setting could not have been better, I highly recommend the place. Lizzie & Andy were very accommodating.

  • This house is amazing and stunningly beautiful. Great for a group with a communal table and big common areas but plenty of adorable comfy nooks to escape with a book if you need some quiet time. Such an incredible space and amazing views.

    Anastasia2017-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lizzie provided us with a very detailed overview of her property to ensure we had an effortless stay. She also provided very helpful information on the surrounding area - favorite hikes, restaurants, shops, etc so we made the most of our time in Cold Spring.

    Marissa2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Lizzie & Andy's. I hope there is a third! Incredible place, great hosts. Could not recommend more.

    Omar2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our weekend at Lizzie and Andy's home was beyond amazing. It was absolutely perfect for our little group of 8. We enjoyed cooking delicious dinners, sitting by the fire, soaking up the stars in the hot tub and laughing late into the night playing games and making mulled wine. We had everything we needed (and more!) and Andy was super responsive when we had questions. I highly recommend this space if you are looking for a quality group experience! We are hoping to make this a tradition and feel pretty bummed that it's over. Thank you, Lizzie and Andy for sharing your beautiful home.

We are very secluded and private yet only minutes to Main St. with restaurants, shops and cafes. Our property is located up a mountain with a half mile private gravel drive to the residence. There are 6 snake turns along the way. One of our vehicles is a BMW M3 Roadster so cars will make it. If you are booking in the winter and we get bad weather and you don't have 4 wheel drive, we can make arrangements to pick you up at the bottom of the hill or in town. We find our mountain road part of the charm of this getaway. Despite feeling as remote and private as we are, you are still only located one mile from Beacon's thriving Main St.
  • Fantastic stay; seamless arrival and everything just as perfect as described. Amazing views out over the Hudson. Can't recommend it highly enough.

    Matthew2014-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great weekend getaway. House was extremely clean and as pictured. The view from the deck was amazing. Charlotte was very helpful in responding to any questions and even picked us up in town. Cabs were easy to grab to take you up the hill from town as well so a car is not a must but definitely helps. Center of town had several great bars and restaurants. The hike to the water tower was a great way to spend the day outdoors. The horses and donkey were a great added bonus to the trip. Would definitely recommend staying with Charlotte and would stay here again.

    Louis2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Charlotte was a great host: easy to contact, accommodating and helpful. Her place is beautiful and was the perfect weekend getaway for me and my family!

    Kristina2014-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I was married last weekend at The Roundhouse in Beacon and decided to book my stay with Charlotte instead of staying at the venue's hotel. It was an amazing decision! My then fiancé and I checked in on Thursday and were delighted to meet the friendly donkeys and horses living below the suite. Do not be concerned about the smell of the stables, it's like magic, as it does not enter the suite at all. The views are astonishing and the suite itself is gorgeous, romantic, and relaxing. I had my bridesmaids and attendants do their hair and make up in the suite and it was an amazing experience for everyone. Vince (husband) and I intend on staying with Charlotte in the future for many more occasions. Charlotte was a lovely host as well. She was happy to show us the suite before booking and allowed us to trek all over her lovely property to take pictures. My only word of caution is the trip up the mountain. We were able to make it up in a Honda Fit but it's not for the faint of heart- I recommend taking a trip to visit the suite before booking if you are nervous about driving up a mountain. (However, I think the views might seduce you into staying regardless). Thank you so much Charlotte- the suite made our wedding weekend!

    Tierney2014-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! Gorgeous horses! Well appointed apartment. Will definitely return!

    Leon2015-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most lovely trip to Charlottes. It was even more beautiful and peaceful than we thought. Definitely going to come back!

    Zara2013-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved the Equestrian Retreat! The beauty of the location and the luxury of the suite was so unique and special. I would highly recommend this place to all. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the sunset over the river. The horses and the donkeys were a great plus. They were very sweet and appreciated our attention any time we walked past them. The location to Main Street, Beacon NY was incredible-so close to the town, yet once at Lamb's Hill Farm, you feel secluded and private and quiet on the mountain. The furnishings and interior decoration was really beautiful and comfortable. We would stay there anytime we plan to be in the area!

    Kristina2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredibly beautiful and cozy space, and Charlotte was a very gracious and flexible hostess! We originally thought to book for a honeymoon weekend, and then with family flying in from Texas, Montana, and Arizona we decided to have have them up for dinner at the house, then decided that since we were such an intimate group we would just get married at the house...Charlotte was extremely accommodating through it all!! Which we greatly appreciated! Both my husband and I as well as our families were positively in love with the space, the super cute ponies and donkeys, and the amazing views this home had to offer. It offers a perfect combination of the rustic and the modern. We would definitely stay again, plan on recommending it to others, and already had a few guest thinking of coming back to stay themselves!

  • The cottage is a little gem, and it's exactly as described. It's in a quiet road up the mountain, not too far from main street (25 mins walking). The place is in perfect conditions and it's cozy and comfortable, I wouldn't ask for more. Check-in and check-out were easy, Wifi works fine and Tom has been very communicative. I definitely recommend it and I'll be happy to come back soon for a weekend escape from NYC!

  • We had a wonderfully cozy New Years weekend here! The house was just as we anticipated - the perfect place to make some home cooked meals, read, and relax. We rented a car, which was helpful in getting us to the trail heads for hiking and up to Hudson for a day to peruse the antique stores. Would love to visit again in the summer months to enjoy the outdoor space! Tom was a helpful and communicative host. We loved our trip!

  • The Mountainside cottage was in a perfect location for exploring Beacon and the Hudson Valley. It was quiet and peaceful, yet just a 5 minute drive from the action. Tom was very responsive to my questions, had extra bedding brought over when we had a last minute guest, and we always felt cared for.

    Christine2014-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tom was such an accommodating host! He made an extra effort to let me check in early. The cottage is super cute, clean, quiet and modern. It's close enough to the town of beacon but has the quiet country feel to it overlooking a fairly large piece of land. there's also a beautiful hiking trail right down the block with a place to swim when it's warm. I would highly recommend staying here.

    Michelle2014-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Tara have an absolutely perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. My fiancé and I used the space as a home base for our wedding weekend and they were so gracious and accommodating. They even left us a welcoming gift! I made a goof and left with the keys and they picked them up locally no questions asked. If Tara and I will have us back- we have plans to make this a Beacon home base!

    Claire2014-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the cottage was a dream! It's about a $10 cab ride from the Beacon Metro-North station. The space was pristine when we arrived and looked exactly like it does in the photos. We cooked our own food for our whole stay, and we were able to find just about every cooking utensil and kitchen staple we needed to get the job done. Main Street was an easy walk, and we stopped in at Bank Square coffeehouse, Beacon Natural Market for groceries, and Oak Vino Wine Bar for a few glasses of wine along the way. All were lovely. (Oak Vino had a $6/glass and free snacks special one night which made it a perfect date spot.) The cottage stayed toasty in spite of the freezing temperatures (thermostat is easy to find and use), but the bed was so warm and luxurious anyway. The keyless entry is so convenient, especially if you're looking for more privacy from a host, but Tom was super communicative when we needed him to be. Due to a severely delayed flight, I wasn't able to tell Tom what time we'd be checking in until the day of our trip, and he was so flexible and understanding. Tom and Tara also leave guests a helpful instruction booklet with all the ins and outs of the place. It's the perfect spot to unwind away from the city and have a romantic getaway.

  • Nice little house for 2-4 people. Clean. Comfy furniture, including a bed and a pull-out couch. A beautiful lawn looking out on the woods. Nicely decorated and stocked with recent magazines and interesting books. Easy to get in touch with the host. A bit of a walk from the train station (45 minutes, including hills). Slow WiFi. Overall a good experience.

Our renovated gothic farmhouse is only minutes from the Cold Spring Village, but this rural retreat feels like miles from anywhere. Enjoy panoramic views from the covered porch, a pool, bonfire pit, steam shower, full gym, and large stone fireplace.
This spacious home has a bright eat-in kitchen with separate dining room, 5 bedrooms, and 3.5 baths. A large "cabin-like" great room with stone fireplace is perfect for entertaining. But, in warmer weather, you'll probably be enjoying the views from the wrap-around porch. Enjoy hiking and biking from the property, take a short drive to shop in the historic Cold Spring or kayak on the Hudson river. Conveniently located a 5 minute drive to Cold Spring train station and the Metro North/ Hudson line.
  • Heather & Sean's place is fantastic and I can honestly say it's the best Airbnb I've ever stayed in (been to 20+). Not only are they highly responsive and easy to communicate with, but their house is MUCH better than the photos (which already look awesome). There is a ton of sunlight in the house so each morning we all woke up refreshed and enjoyed their coffee machine to the fullest. The house is also sitting on a hill with a great fire pit, outdoor grill, and a beautiful porch for watching the sunset. Their house is also extremely close to the city but feels very remote, which is very hard to find. When it comes to value, this house is very reasonably priced given how many people it sleeps, where it's located, and the quality of home it is. It was an incredible weekend away and I can't wait to go back!

    Josh2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our family stayed at Heather and Sean's place over the Christmas holiday. We had an amazing time! Heather was very easy to communicate with and provided us with everything we needed. She was very generous. The house was even better than we expected...the pictures don't do it justice! We definitely look forward to coming back in the future.

  • We stayed for our son's West Point graduation, and it was ideal. We were within a 20 - 30 minute drive of post, but felt secluded and enjoyed the stunning view on the porch when we had a few hours of down-time. It is a quick drive to downtown Cold Spring for delicious meals and a well-stocked grocery. The house is beautifully furnished, and the coffee maker and steam shower were wonderful luxuries. Heather and Sean were great - they made us feel welcome and left plenty of info to allow us to settle in and feel at home. Highly recommended!

  • Such a great house! Our group of seven could not have been happier with Liz and Dirk's place. Their home is so comfortable, spacious and very cool, with awesome art! There are so many personal touches to ensure that your stay is perfect. They've thought of everything! Their home is situated in a very private, beautiful, wooded location, yet conveniently located to everything the area offers - hiking trails, historic sites and villages, all sorts of outdoor activities, shopping, etc. It's a great home to just relax and unwind in, or to return to at the end of a day of exploring and activities. Liz was extremely responsive to every question we had and took the time to clearly explain everything we needed to know about their home. If you're looking to stay in this area, book today, you won't be disappointed.

  • Treetop retreat is the perfect description for this lovely house! So much attention to detail and amazing art in every corner. The house bleeds character and amenities are top notch. Fantastic kitchen with industrial gas range and plenty of counter space, grill, and beautiful views front and back. Just far enough off the road that you forget you are conveniently located near Cold Spring, Peekskill, Storm King, and other great Hudson valley towns. Liz and Dirk were very responsive and provided clear directions for all our needs.

  • We had a fantastic time staying in Liz and Dirk’s home. Liz made sure the booking and check-in process went smoothly, maintaining close contact with us until we got into the house. When we arrived, we were bowled over by how clean and well-appointed the home was. Liz and Dirk left a detailed manual that outlined all the things we might need to know during our stay, including information about the thermostats (very easy to control), internet, places to shop and eat in town, etc. (We loved how the manual organized everything in alphabetical order – very easy to peruse and refer to as needed.) The kitchen had all the essentials with a note that we should help ourselves to modest amounts of whatever we needed, and to replace anything we finished – a lovely gesture, especially since we were planning only a week’s stay and didn’t have to go foraging right away. The cookware and barware were of high quality and a pleasure to use. It was clear that Liz and Dirk take a lot of pride in cooking and entertaining; we are the same, so we felt right at home. The sleeping areas were nicely set up. We were traveling as a couple plus a single family member and her small hypoallergenic support dog, so having two very separate and private master bedrooms was ideal. We stayed in Dirk’s studio, which features windows with quite beautiful views of the tree tops. The studio is outfitted with an uncannily comfortable sleeper sofa that was set up as a king-sized bed. The linens in both the master and the studio were very comfortable. The backyard was nicely maintained, though we used the back patio only. Access to and from the kitchen was easy. We used the gas grill only once before running out of propane. Since we’re city folk, we dared not attempt a tank switch; the kitchen was so nice and usable, we certainly didn’t mind doing our cooking inside. A special joy was being surrounded by Dirk’s fabulous art, which gave the home a modern feel in an otherwise rustic setting. It was clear from how the home is set up that Liz and Dirk have a really wonderful family. Thank you for welcoming us!

  • This is an amazing home for a weekend getaway if you're looking to escape city life. The house is huge, with multiple levels, and is nestled in the woods with a private driveway and a spacious backyard. We were a party of 6 (3 couples) and this house was more than enough room for us - it felt luxurious. This house is minutes away from Cold Spring and the Hudson Highlands hikes, and a quick 20 min drive to Beacon. It was really the perfect location. You can also run down from the house down to the waterfalls. The host, Liz, was extremely responsive and gracious with us, which I sincerely appreciated. The house is very clean, spacious, and homey. It also has a lot of DIY character - as what we gathered, Dirk is a photographer and his work is hung all around the home! My favorite parts: - Very helpful welcome note to acquaint ourselves with the house and how to make coffee, etc AND suggestions on things to do in the area, much of which we did actually go and do (highly recommend Constitution Marsh) - The expansive backyard with bird feeders, a treehouse (for little kids - we didn't use, but delightful to see), outdoor dining table, and patio chairs - TV with Netflix - Record player with Bob Dylan records! We were very careful with it :) - French doors! - The house gets in so much natural light thanks to expansive windows on every side. When you wake up and see the light streaming in and the lush green trees.....this is the respite I needed from city life - Eames chair - Long wooden dining table - Espresso machine!!!! - Downstairs showers have amazing water pressure and soft towels / high quality shampoo were provided - Close proximity to so many activities, whether hiking, great food, small towns to explore One note for others (we were fine): many little steps throughout the house so it's not wheelchair accessible. Highly recommend this lovely home!!!
