Recently updated! New paint, toilet, and shower. Come enjoy country living just an hour north of the Twin Cities. Modernized guest house on 16 acres surrounded by rolling farmland and trees. Very peaceful and secluded with the sounds of nature all around. Visit Trollhaugen down the road for skiing or snowboard in the winter and zip lining in the summer. Located 10 minutes from Osceola, St. Croix Falls and Taylors Falls. Polk County ID #: 76776
Please be aware there are two large beds that will fit 2 guests each, as well as one couch. We have a high quality air mattress you can use as well, just let us know. Please send us a direct message if you're interested in bringing pets.
We live in a rural setting, but there are numerous things all within a 5-10 minute drive from our place. Get brunch at The Watershed Cafe in Osceola then walk down and see the falls. Get a taste of the north shore by hiking at Interstate State Park! Cross country ski on the Stower Seven Lakes Trail! Best of all, relax on the porch and watch the sun set.
  • Great location and quiet. Clean and well decorated!

  • Their farm is adorable! The view is amazing with farm fields, cute outbuildings and a nice trail to walk. A gem of a place in a rural area but close enough to the cities to get to quickly. We enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very attentive to any questions we had. Thank you for opening up your place to visitors.

  • They were very hospitable, bringing us fresh chicken eggs! The Airbnb is a ways up the drive way from the main residence, so it feels private. We loved it. Very cozy, clean, and high quality linens and pillows.

A unique urban loft that is close to Wild Mountain; Trollhaugen; Festival Theater; the Ice Age Trailhead; Interstate Park in WI and MN; the Gandy Dancer Trail; the Woolly Mountain Bike Trail; Cyclova Bike Shop; the St Croix River; Osceola; cafe, bars, and small grocery store within walking distance.. You’ll love my place because of the high ceilings, the uniqueness, the location, & the private cafe table outside.
This is a small studio apartment with a private bathroom with toilet, vanity, and stand-up shower. The thermostat controls for the heat are in the bathroom. AC unit for the main room. There is a small kitchenette, dresser, hangers, TV, Wi-Fi, and access to a stone patio. Right off of main street in downtown St Croix Falls. Guest access You will be given an electronic keycode and instructions to use this lock system the morning of check-in. You will use this keycode to lock and unlock the main door to the apartment. You may check-in without meeting us (which is why we are flexible on check-in time) but if you need anything, we are close by and can help you with anything. Other things to note There are three apartments we rent out at the Luminaries Building so if you are traveling with others and want to stay together, please also check out the listings for The Artist's Loft and The Peacock Loft. There is also a patio that anyone can sit on and enjoy. Although we are off of Main Street, road noise is usually limited in the Copper Room but feel free to bring a fan or earplugs if very sensitive to noise - we want you to have a great sleep! This is a unique room and has exposed copper pipes (which is why it is decorated in a copper theme!) - please note that there may be small water-trickling sounds coming up the pipes (the room has 12 foot ceilings though so they are high-up) above. Do not be alarmed - this is normal. We just want you to be aware before booking so this doesn't upset you. Also, this apartment only has a small partial kitchen: Fridge, microwave, sink, and cupboards. No range/stove/oven. Plenty of room to store fresh/dry food for a weekened/week though.
In western Wisconsin, St. Croix Falls has become a destination for people who want to go places. It's the western terminus of the 1,000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail, which traces the last glacier as it began to melt and retreat northward, leaving a marvelously lumpy patchwork of rock, rubble and river gorges. It's the southern trailhead of the 48-mile Gandy Dancer State Trail, a scenic crushed-limestone bicycle trail named for the rail workers who rhythmically swung pickaxes and hammers made by the Gandy Tool Co. And it's the headquarters of the 252-mile St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, with a new visitors center that helps paddlers plan trips from the Namekagon to the St. Croix's confluence with the Mississippi. There are another 12 trails in Interstate State Park, which became Wisconsin's first state park in 1900 and is the start of the Ice Age Trail.
  • Fun cute place! Great access to downtown and close to the state parks!

    Jenny2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Copper Room is beautifully decorated and very cozy! Perfect for a weekend getaway for two. Located right in town in an old building with a lot of charm, including the steps to get up to the sidewalk and the iron gates. Just a block from the St. Croix Tavern and a few blocks away from the Crystal, both very friendly small town bars. Just a few minutes drive from Taylor's Falls and the state parks. Rhonda was a great host and very accommodating - we highly recommend!! Great place for a great value, the Copper Room is definitely worth it!!

Saint Croix Falls, WI, United States

Just a little over an hour from the Twin Cities, this lakefront property has all you need for that perfect summer vacation. Located on beautiful Balsam Lake, this unit comes with two complete living spaces, making it perfect for large groups who want to vacation together but also want some privacy, couples looking for a romantic getaway, or business colleagues looking for a retreat. Swimming, fishing, bird watching, great walks, the Leeland cabin has it all. Memories are made at the lake!
This up and down cabin has two bedrooms upstairs and one down, along with sofa sleepers on both floors. Each level has its own kitchen, bath and living room so there is plenty of room for guests to spread out and engage in separate activities. Movies downstairs don't interfere with card games on the upper level. The two well-appointed kitchens make feeding a crew of hungry vacationers easy, and with two refrigerators, there is plenty of space to store all your food and beverages so you don't have to spend loads of time running to the store. The lower level of the cabin is level with the lake and there is a dock on the property for tying up boats, fishing and sunbathing. The upper level has a deck and there is a covered patio off the lower level. The yard is spacious and offers plenty of space for marshmallow roasts, barbecue, and lawn games.
Balsam Lake is a 1901 acre lake located in Polk County. It has a maximum depth of 37 feet. There are several public boat landings and plenty of good fishing. Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. Several small towns are located near the lake, offering shopping, dining and some recreational opportunities. The museum in Balsam Lake is always a fun outing. The property is located in what is commonly known as the "Narrows" of the lake, which shelters it from wind. Mirror-like water is not uncommon on nice afternoons, making it ideal for water sports.
  • Seriously I cannot think of words that could possibly do justice to our impressions of Brad and Laura’s place. My family went over Christmas and they even had decorations out! The amenities actually shocked us and I needn’t have brought any cooking utensils or spices or pans or even coffee. Extremely well equipped is not an overstatement. If you’re on the fence, you couldn’t do any better. Cheers to Brad and Laura and many thanks.

  • There is something very special about Laura and Brad's cabin! We used it for a girls get away weekend and it couldn't have been a more perfect place. It is spacious, comfortable and the views are spectacular. It had everything we were looking for and so much more. We would book this wonderful place again without any hesitation. 5 Stars all around!!

  • What a lovely place! The lake was beautiful in the fall! The house was perfect for our 3 generation fall trip. It was much bigger than we pictured it to be and had a great layout. Coffee on the deck in the summer would be fabulous! It was very well stocked with kitchen and bathroom needs. I don't think one weekend was enough, we'll have to plan for more next time. Thanks Laura and Brad!

  • Karen was a fabulous host that responded quickly to all messages. She went out of her way to ensure our stay was amazing. We were in town for a surprise birthday party, the bunkhouse was perfectly located and convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. The bunkhouse was very cute and clean, the bed was super comfortable, and I only wish it was summertime so we could see the beautiful view of the lake. I would definitely stay at the bunkhouse again, maybe next time in the summer!

  • Lovely property and hosts. Beautiful rural setting just a quick drive to town and a much loved coffee spot (Coffee Talk). Very accommodating hosts. Roomy, comfortable, spotless apartment. And dogs. A bit bark-y at first but they are warm up quickly.

    Eliza2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Even though we never got to meet Maryjo on our stay, she still had everything ready for us. Great place to hang you hat after a day of hiking, wineries and breweries.

    Debbie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Maryjo's place. The unit was so well decorated, comfortable, and checked all the amenities boxes for a quick weekend stay. We were in Taylors Falls for a wedding, but continue to comment on how we would love to find a reason to come back to the area and stay here again. Highly recommend!

    Brad2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was truly a little slice of heaven. We rented this beautiful place to quietly ring in the New Year and it was the perfect setting to do so. Amy, our host, communicated with us extremely well before, during and at the end of our stay which is greatly appreciated. The space itself is gorgeous with sweeping views of the lake, and the interior is so homey, comfortable and sparkling clean. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, the fireplace made things warm and cozy when the weather outside was frightful, the beds comfy, and Amy goes out of her way to provide recommendations for hiking, activities, and restaurants in the area. All in all, our stay was perfect and we would love to return someday and also recommend this cabin to others in the future.

The cute little extras like the warm house slippers, the snacks and bottles of waters were just what we needed! The beds were very comfortable and the house is sparkly clean! We were as cozy as can be and definitely would return! This is a must to check out.

  • My friend and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. We were particularly impressed with how clean it was and the thoughtful touches throughout. Two examples we used were the hiking trail literature she had on premises, which we used to plan our hike and the little bars of soap, which I used since I forgot my shower soap. We loved the upstairs where there were two sleeping areas for us. The beds were super comfortable and we both slept really well. We loved the location and the close walk to the lake. There were several seating areas throughout with tables, lights, and blankets close by, making for very comfy relaxing time. We both commented several times how impressed we were with everything. We highly recommend it.

    Terri2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was way better that we expected. Pictures do not tell you the story but once when you enter the house it feels cozy and relaxing. Initially we reserved the place for two nights and had to extend it for another night, that lovely was the place. We definitely recommend for a quick weekend getaway from twin cities. Host Brenda was very communicative, she was there to greet us and gave us a quick tour of the place. We would like to comeback in Summer.

    Sunil2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of sleeping space. Quiet and charming

    Cindy2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cleanliness, comfort and amenities of this cozy place make you feel like you're "at home." Brenda, Beth and Barb are wonderful hostesses! The deer and other wildlife on the property are fun to watch. Next time we'll have to come at a warmer time of year to enjoy the outdoors. Who would have expected snow on October 12th in Wisconsin!

    Anna2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • What you see is what you get! Alittle cozy cabin not far from anything!! Fully stocked house that is kept very clean. Brenda is a great host and is willing to help out anyway she can to make your stay truly magnificent :)

    Jamie2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location - farm fields, trees and a lake as neighbors. Amenities were beyond expected with items such as metal sticks for roasting marshmallows, marshmallows, paper plates, cozy blankets in the living room, movies, games, kayaks... My family and I would visit again!

    Heather2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda does a great job of explaining the house and everything in the area upon arrival. She even gave us a brief on her family's history in the area The house was everything you'd expect - plus much more. Everything was clean and in place - the house was had every amenity you would need - and the little signs around the house were able to guide you through any question. The house was the perfect place for us. The bedroom on the 1st floor was perfect for my parents, and the bedrooms on the 2nd floor was perfect for our privacy. The house had all the comforts of home, plus some very well received touches (like water, snacks, towels, maps, etc - even deer in the yard during our breakfast!!!). They really did a great job with this place. It might be my first and only time near Grantsburg - but in the chance we do return, we would definitely stay there again. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the vicinity.

Truly the most unique place you might ever stay in! Mosaic tiles, original turn-of-the century cabinets and sink, artistic rustic touches everywhere.
  • Great place and great host! Clean and well stocked. The decorations and mosaics are amazing as well.

  • Easy to give 5 stars and highly recommend the Artist Loft. Rhonda was helpful throughout our stay, keeping in touch and even making preparations for our late arrival on our check-in day. Directions were easy to follow on all accounts and very thorough. The Loft itself is gorgeous, cozy, and such a little slice of paradise. For us, when we needed a weekend away, it was perfect.

  • The Artist's Loft is exactly what you hope to find when looking for a thoughtful place to explore Taylor's Falls and St. Croix Falls. My husband, our 7 month old boy and myself spent an unforgettable Valentine's weekend there. The mosaic tile details all over will leave you breathless. The kitchen is inviting and open, the bedroom cozy and detailed. Hostess was wonderful in providing a pack and play and easy check in! Can't wait to stay again! <3

Our cave suite is part of Minnesota's first B&B! Formerly a saloon built in 1869, this apartment/suite is complete with a large cave that once led into tunnels connecting the saloon into a brewery. While the cave no longer stores beer, it does have a luxury bath built into it, with both a whirlpool tub and a walk in shower. This suite is perfect for a romantic getaway in beautiful Taylor's Falls. Come celebrate honeymoons, anniversaries, or just because in a beautiful and unique suite.
This is an entire apartment in the Old Jail Bed and Breakfast. We are no longer able to serve breakfast, but we give each guest a breakfast voucher for the Chisago House restaurant right across the street. This apartment is equipped with a full kitchen, along with dining area, living area, studio bedroom, and of course the stunning bath.
We are in the heart of downtown Taylor's Falls. There are restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and Interstate State Park all within walking distance. There are several wineries in the area and lots of places to stroll around and take in the scenery.
  • Super cute and comfy place to get away for the weekend!

  • Amazing place. 5 stars all around. Extremely clean and comfortable with a plethora of amenities. Communicative and helpful hosts. Over and above really. Beautiful area and very accessible by road even during winter. Maybe the listing should have mentioned it was a part of their house. House separated the air bnb space by 1 door although it is advertised as an independent structure. Host walking by window outside etc. Privacy was respected but that is just worth mentioning.

  • Serendipity escape is definitely the place to stay. Very beautiful place and Bob and Lisa are very respectful hosts, thank you so much!

Would recommend to anyone and would definitely go back!

  • Bob and Lisa were very friendly and provided us with food / snacks which was very generous

    Tyler2019-10-20T00:00:00Z

  • Rhonda's place is amazing to stay at, and so is she! I was in need of a short-term rental and her place was the perfect fit. The Peacock room is set up as a cozy little apartment with a spacious kitchen and stylish touches that make you feel relaxed and comfortable. The kitchen had what we needed so we could cook with utensils and spices. It's a beautiful location right in downtown St. Croix where you can go for walks on the hiking paths, get ice cream down the street, or head to Taylors Falls which is only a 2 minute drive away. We loved having our own parking spot which was so convenient. Overall, we had a wonderful time, as we stayed for 7 weeks. Rhonda was an amazing host and made sure we had all that we needed to be comfortable during our stay. She is so thoughtful and sweet and just a wonderful person to get to know. I highly recommend staying at any of her 3 places (all locate in the same building). They are unique and will make your stay so worth it! I can't say enough good things.

  • I stayed in the Peacock room for Christmas 2019 while visiting family. It was perfect for our needs. It is newly remodeled so the decor is modern and stylish. Rhonda was attentive to our needs and offers some nice touches with bath amenities, bottled water, and coffee. I would definitely recommend to others.

Our rustic log cabin echoes back to 1858, with a gentle expansion in 1992. Come and cozy up in an honest place where you can tuck in for a time, or venture out into Taylors Falls for: -Canoeing and Kayaking -Hiking and Biking Trails -Rock Climbing -Summer Water Park -Miniature Golfing -Winter Skiing, Snowboarding and Tubing -Wineries
Our cabin offers a newly remodeled lower level for our guests. This is private and includes a bathroom with heated floors, shower and claw foot bath tub. We also provide a small refrigerator, microwave, electric water pot, French press with offerings. Fresh fruit in season for breakfast with hot cereal or granola, yogurt and a snack or two to snatch for the road.
Our neighborhood is spread out and has both summer cabins and year round homes. Again, our cabin is secluded and there is no view of a cabin or home in sight.

Come stay in the original jailhouse of historic Taylor's Falls! Converted into a loft apartment, this history enriched space is one of a kind. Built in 1889, it is one of the oldest original buildings in Taylor's Falls and maintains some charms of the jail... like iron bars on the main entrance and select windows! If you're gong to spend a night in jail, we'd highly recommend doing it here.
The jail is a private guesthouse off the main house of the Old Jail Bed and Breakfast, Minnesota's first B&B. While we do not serve breakfast, breakfast vouchers for the Chisago House restaurant are provided! Our suite includes full kitchen, bath, living space, and loft bedroom with two private entrances.
We are the start of downtown Taylor's Falls. There are restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and Interstate State Park all within walking distance. There are several wineries in the area and lots of places to stroll around and take in the scenery.
  • The Old Jail was a very neat, tidy, clean and unique place to stay. Had all the necessary amenities for a week or weekend getaway. Perfect location. Walking distance to all the local restaurants and bars and parks. Larry and Taylor were excellent hosts. You won't be disappointed in staying at Old Jail.

  • Everything that we expected. We would most likely make a return visit.

    Todd2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and unique place to stay! We booked with only an hour notice before arrival and Taylor was great and had the air conditioning turned on full so it was nice when we arrived. Really neat building...I spent most of 30 mins just looking at how it was "cribbed" together. Bed was comfortable, living room great, and having an actual coffee maker was a real plus!

  • We stayed one night with our 4 year old to explore Taylor’s Falls in the Old Jail cottage. Check in and communication was fantastic and the place was bigger and cooler than we anticipated! PERFECT for our family of 3 and a few day stay. It had enough space for us to not be on top of each other and the bed in the loft (really felt like a second floor) had glorious air and was super cozy. Walking distance to the Main Street, food, river, gas station and other historic spots. We’d absolutely come again and will recommend to others. Exceeded expectations and a fun place to say you’ve slept in. While visiting the city we went to Fawn-Doe-Rosa, Strawberry Picking at Pleasant Valley Orchard and visited the Franconia Sculpture Park!

    Lindsay2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Jail Airbnb was PERFECT. My best friend and I went to Taylor’s Falls for a little getaway, and it was so much fun to stay in the Old Jail! It was historical with all the modern comforts that we needed (comfortable bed, mini kitchen, modern bathroom, a/c). Taylor made checking in incredibly easy for us and was very responsive to and helpful with any questions. There was a cozy bed in the loft and a futon down in the living area. Also some old games and puzzles were fun to explore. The location was perfect - steps away from shops, restaurants, bars, convenience store, state park, historical sites, and the river tour boat launch. We will probably stay here again should we return - it was such a nice spot out of the city but only an hour drive from Minneapolis. We also went to Balsam Lake to Indianhead Supper Club for dinner, which was AMAZING and felt like stepping back in time. In summary, Taylor has made a unique and comfortable spot in a historic location - not easy to do! It has been fun telling all of my friends about our stay in the Old Jail. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

This six bedroom cabin is perfect for making new family memories at the lake. With beautiful lakeside views, spacious rooms, 13 beds, a big yard and patio, a bonfire pit, and plenty of board games for all ages, your family is sure to have everything they need for a relaxing week away. The cabin is perfect for large families or for gatherings with extended family members. Polk County Permit #76839
There's so much to be loved about this space. First, let's talk about the OUTSIDE, because if you're at the cabin, you should probably be enjoying the outdoors! The front of the house includes a parking area for 3 cars and a driveway that can usually fit 4 more. There's a big yard and a landscaped flower garden. The front deck houses a gas grill, which you are free to use. The deck wraps around to the back of the house, where you'll find a large patio table and a jaw-dropping view of Balsam Lake. You'll enjoy family time on this deck, sipping coffee, gin and tonics, and enjoying the gentle breeze. You'll like to eat meals at this table, as long as the weather cooperates. The back deck has stairs that lead to a large yard. The yard is perfect for yard games or soaking up some sun on a towel or lawn chair. We also have hammocks to tie onto the trees if you're interested. We have a swing set with a slide for the kids to enjoy. There's a fire pit with a fully stocked wood pile for when the sun goes down. We also recently completed a downstairs patio, complete with another patio table, a bar-height table, and a swing. This patio gives the perfect amount of shade on a hot, sunny day. The yard leads directly to the lake, where we have a shallow area for swimming. You can always see the sandy bottom. If you ask us ahead of time, we can provide two kayaks and a paddleboat for your enjoyment! Feel free to rent a pontoon or ski boat from Sunnyside Marina and park it at our dock for the week. And now for the INSIDE spaces. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are open-concept and allow for an easy flow of living, especially during meals or family times. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, mugs, cups, crock pots, a blender, tea kettle, toaster, microwave, and more. You'll have full access to the fridge and freezer as well. There's a big center island that's perfect for preparing meals and setting our meals for your guests. The dining room overlooks the lake. It has a large table with six chairs, and there are card tables and folding chairs to add extra eating space. Under the bay window, we have all sorts of cards and games you can use during your stay. We also keep snacks (candy and chips) fully stocked for your enjoyment. The living room has a couch, a loveseat, and three chairs. Again, the folding chairs come in handy when you need them. There's a flatscreen TV and a sound bar for those rainy nights when you'd like to wind down with a movie. One of the best things about the living room is the gas fireplace- it's perfect in the wintertime to make you feel nice and cozy! There are two bathrooms in the main house, and one extra bathroom is located above the garage. All bathrooms have a shower and one of the bathrooms also has a tub. We will provide towels and small bottles of shampoo/conditioner, as well as some bars of soap. In the main house, there are 5 bedrooms. On the main floor, bedroom 1 has a king bed and bedroom 2 has a queen bed. In the basement, bedrooms 3 and 4 both have queen beds. Bedroom 5 is a perfect bedroom for families- it's a big room with a queen bed, two twins, and two extra twin mattresses. The sixth bedroom is above the garage - it has four beds and it's own bathroom with shower (two queen beds, two twin beds). It has its own AC unit. The basement has another large gathering space with a fireplace. There's a big table we use for meals and games. It also has a great view of the lake, so when you need to catch up on your work, it's pleasant to do it in this room! We also have a washer and dryer downstairs. You're welcome to use these as you need them. Some laundry essentials will be provided.
We have a great view of 5 of the 7 islands on Balsam Lake! Our cabin is centrally located on the lake, with easy boat rides to all the various parts of the lake. If you go to the left of our dock (maybe 1/4 mile?), you'll find Minneapolis Point, where many boats put their anchors down to swim. It's a popular place on a hot day.
  • The Balsam Lake Home is quite a place to stay. Our family had 7 adults & 3 kids stay for under a week. The main L shaped living area was large & very comfortable. We appreciated the dining table being larger (meals & some games we played there) & the Kitchen Island was used extensively. We used the yard to play croquet (we brought), cornhole (with bags tossed), the kids swingset, the two kayaks that were provided, & the dock for our boat. Very fun. We did a lot of boating with our fam; Skiing, tubing & some cruising to enjoy the sights. I did gas up my boat at the Sunnyside Marina on the South side, which was convenient. The lake roads we used for walks in the evening. The firepit was used for making S'mores one night - very fun. Wood is split & right there. It was a great week. Jerry

  • Beautiful cabin in a great location! Highly recommend for a quiet vacation. The hosts were very welcoming and easy to work with.

  • You will not regret booking this place! Cathy and Dan are excellent hosts. Cathy met us upon arrival and gave us a walkthrough showing us everything we needed to know about the cabin and the property. Cathy left us an abundance of snacks and a cute little care package with wine and fireball. We rented the cabin for our annual family vacation with eight adults and five children. The house was very spacious and gave us so much room to spread out we could not believe it. Everything was so clean and organized. They left little notes all around the home to let you know what goes where which we appreciated. We packed toys for the kids but ended up leaving them all in our vehicles because there were plenty of toys and games available in the cabin. Outside there is a vast deck wrapping around the house with plenty of seating. The views of the lake are absolutely beatuful, and we ended up eating most meals outside. There are plenty of parking and two docks available so enough room if you bring a boat. We brought along a pontoon and had so much fun swimming at the sand bar not far from the property. Balsam Lake is our favorite lake, and a sunset cruise around the lake is a must! So beautiful!! Kayaks and a paddle boat were a fun surprise that we did not expect. Fishing right off the dock was excellent. We expected a few small sunnies, but my kids were catching some pretty decent sized bass. They had an absolute ball fishing every night while we made dinner. The last thing that I will add is that during our stay, we were hit by a pretty bad storm which left us without power for 12 hours. This could have been a disaster trying to put five kids to bed in an unfamiliar home with no electricity. Luckily, there were plenty of lanterns and flashlights available for us along with a full drawer of back up batteries. I honestly do not know what we would have done if they were not so well prepared. Driving to town was not an option as the majority of roads were covered with trees and not driveable. We appreciated the number of lanterns/flashlights and the fact that Cathy had shown us where to find those things when we checked in. We cannot wait to stay at this cabin again. An amazing property is taken care of by excellent hosts!

  • Let me just tell you this cabin was the best! It exceeded expectations and provided for a wonderful week getaway with our family. The house was fully stocked and perfect for our large group. Lots of board games, cornhole, kayaks, paddle boat , so much to keep up busy! Each night we ended at the fire pit, plenty of firewood and conveniently chairs were provided to enjoy it. Condiments and snacks provided added a special touch to our stay, especially the wine and fireball . The kitchen was FULLY stocked should one want to cook. We also loved how we were secluded but if we needed supplies it was a quick 10 min drive to Walmart /shopping areas. Throughout the home were many special touches, it was apparent a lot of thought and time went into making guests feel at home. The communication was great with the hosts - very attentive, quick to respond, and made an extra effort to ensure our stay was perfect. We hope to return someday!

  • Our extended family enjoyed the weekend at Peaceful Shores. It has a beautiful location, great amenities (kayaks, boats, life jackets). They’ve thought of everything. We enjoyed staying together, the campfire and beautiful views. Thanks for a great weekend!

    Mary2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable space with a wonderful loft for kids to entertain themselves. We also really appreciated the screened in gazebo and gas grill on the patio space. We did use the kayaks and row boat, which were really convenient and the home was well-stocked with life jackets of every size. Fishing was really fun right off the dock. The town of Amery was very cute and had a great ice cream shop, pharmacy, pizza restaurant, and a farm-to-table restaurant that looked and sounded fantastic, we just ran out of time to get there. We did have to drive to a beach- and after some searching went to Cumberland Lakeside Beach, which was about a 35 minute drive. It was worth the drive for the kids to swim and the adults to relax (there's also a dairy/ice cream shop on the way). We rented a pontoon for 1/2 day from Shoreview Supper Club which worked out great. I think it's important to note also that many shops and restaurants are closed Mondays and Tuesdays in Amery, so we had to plan our itinerary around that a bit. Overall, Sara's home was everything we were looking for and we were very comfortable with 6 adults and 4 kids.

Love at first sight! This rustic, secluded hideaway exudes charm with its woodburning fireplace, and screened in porch overlooking our beautiful lake to enjoy morning coffee or the sunset with a cocktail. This cabin is a great way to get on a lake and leave the worries behind!
Guests are free to use the entire cabin and 3 season porch. Guests can also use all of the trails on the property.
We’re only 3 miles from downtown St. Croix Falls and 4 miles from downtown Taylor’s Falls. South Lions Park is located along the scenic St. Croix River. It features a boat landing, parking lot, canoe access, fishing opportunity, pavilions, picnic tables, grill posts, restrooms. We’re about 10 miles from both Wild Mountain and Trollhaugen. If you have kids, Fawn Doe Rosa is also just minutes away! Oh, and don’t forget about the St. Croix river and Lions park just minutes away!!
  • The cabin at Big Creek farm is comfortable and the perfect getaway from city life. The property is larger than one can imagine - we rented a ranger from Josh and couldn’t even cover all of the trails in a day! The trout fishing in the pond was great as well, even in the hot July sun! We had a great time and would absolutely look to go back! Josh was great and Big Creek Farm is a treat of a stay! St. Croix Falls and Taylor’s Falls are less than 10 minutes away so even if you explore the whole property, there’s tons to do it the towns!

  • Our stay at this quaint, adorable, and extremely cozy cabin was nothing short of perfect for a fall color getaway this past weekend! The amount of space and how quiet and calm it is out there is amazing in itself. The space was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed with firewood to keep the living room fireplace going all night. The queen bed was so comfortable, with extra blankets and nice pillows provided, too! We felt very welcomed, and communication was super easy with Josh! We also rented a ranger which we highly recommend for a morning cruise throughout the breathtaking grounds, or for a late afternoon drive with a cocktail :) it’s everything anyone would need for a nice getaway that isn’t too far from the cities, and we can’t wait to come back next time! Thanks again!!

Relax to the sound of the Apple River and watch eagles soar at this peaceful riverfront retreat. Century-old cottage near Amery, WI has 2 BRs, 1 BA & full kitchen. Less than 60 miles from the MSP airport & close to state parks, recreational lakes, downhill and XC skiing, wineries, golf, galleries, restaurants and more. Not set up for children. No safe access to the river from the property, but many nearby options to fish, kayak, etc. Fall/winter bookings, see note below. LICENSE. #76856.
This 1918 cottage sits atop a 50-foot ridge overlooking the river. I use it as my own get-away from a busy job in Minneapolis and want to share it with others who are seeking a respite and change of pace. I've furnished it with some of my favorite antiques, artwork and family treasures, including my great grandmother's dining room table she bought in 1901. The cottage is located in a friendly, rural community and is close to high-quality restaurants, pottery studios and one of Wisconsin's famed supper clubs. It's rural but not remote. Great for families with children 16 and older, friends and couples comfortable with cozy quarters. Solo travelers welcome. Access to the river is discouraged, as it is rugged and unsafe. Descend at your own risk. Stairs to the basement are extremely steep. Fall/winter travelers please note: The upstairs attic loft bedroom does not have a heat register. Rising heat and extra blankets make it cozy, but it can get chilly. Space heaters are not allowed for safety reasons, so please be aware of this if there are more than two people in your party. (I sometimes sleep up there in the winter, but it's not for everyone!) In summer, both bedrooms have window air conditioning units. Ceiling fans, the river breeze and leafy trees usually keep the cottage quite comfortable. The 1,200-acre Lake Wapogasset is 10 minutes away for boaters and anglers. There's room on the property to park a boat and trailer. This stretch of the Apple River is 20 miles upstream from tubing and floating excursions in Somerset. There are rapids close to the property at the Pike Hole for experienced kayakers. Public access to boat, fish, kayak on the river nearby. Stock up on groceries in nearby Amery or elsewhere on your way in.
You are 5 miles from downtown Amery, which has two grocery stores, a liquor store, drug store, gas stations and many restaurants and bars, ranging from low-key to upscale. More information at the cottage. • Our stay in this "Idyllic cottage" was wonderful! Super relaxing and the snow fall was perfectly timed for us to enjoy local snowshoe trails! This place is definitely on our list of places to return to.

  • Great place, with a lots of nice touches. I enjoyed staying here, and would definitely recommend to future travelers. One thing to note is that the bedrooms share an entrance but are separated by one floor. We didn't mind, but just a note to future travelers.

  • Beautiful spot on the river. Stylish, clean, comfortable. Had a great stay. There are neighbors right next door, so it’s not exactly remote but it still feels private. Loved having breakfast with windows open, listening to the river.

Relax at "the lake". Two cabins joined by a large porch, spacious and great for groups. Original rustic cabin has two bedrooms, a bed in the living room, 1/2 bathroom and gas fireplace. The other cabin has two bedrooms, bathroom, living room with wood burning fireplace, kitchen and dining room. Large deck with charcoal grill and great views of the lake. Double lot also features a fire pit, pickle ball court, dock, canoe, and fishing boat for your use. On a small chain of three lakes.
Fishing boat and canoe for your use or bring your own boat and launch it at the public boat launch.
You won't want to leave the lake, but if you do, there are grocery stores and restaurants in the small towns nearby.
  • Lovely rustic cabin; it was a perfect location for our annual ladies weekend. Beautiful views of the lake from the living room and porch. Plenty of beds for a large group. It was also a short drive to the Interstate Park along the St. Croix River, which had several great hikes. We also loved downtown Osceola. And the nearest grocery store had a good selection of vegetarian/vegan options, which was great. Because of local county laws, they can't leave any food in the house, so be sure you bring everything you need.

  • Our family enjoyed our time at Lisa's cabin. She was easy to communicate with and responded promptly. I would not say this is the best cabin for swimming unless you take a boat out past the weeds but we had fun even without "jumping off the dock" . The space does not offer a lot of privacy, which for our group was just fine. The cabin has everything you need for an enjoyable time! A simple, rustic stay "up north".
