What a hidden gem! This cosy cottage was a real home from home — beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. The location is perfect: peaceful and quiet, yet just a stone’s throw from a lovely local pub and some wonderful walking trails. The kitchen was very well equipped, making it easy to cook meals when we didn’t feel like going out. Everything was thoughtfully provided, and the attention to detail really showed. We absolutely loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a charming setting.

Had an amazing 3 night stay. Was affordable, comfortable, clean and above all dog friendly. Felt like a home from home. Will definitely be going back.

The place was amazing and Heather and Brian were very helpful and just lovely people. The house is in a gorgeous location and the summer house overlooks a wonderful view. There's plenty of good hikes around and places to eat, I wish we had stayed longer!

Just arrived home after a fantastic few days with family at Hellen’s property. The house is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Hellen has thought of everything so the property has everything and more that you could need. We were a group of 7 (5 adults 2 children) and it was the perfect size for us. We didn’t have great weather so spent a lot of the time in the house playing games and chilling out and it felt like a home away from home. It’s in a great location for all the shops and restaurants and also the beach and sea front attractions. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be back again in the future!

Alison's house was perfect for us. It was well kitted out, the beds were comfy and the whole place was squeaky clean. It was great that we were able to check in early. All in all a great place to stay 🙂

Lovely place, central to Richmond centre. Had the most comfortable bed so slept really well, met Fiona who was really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend

What a wonderful place to stay. The house is a lot bigger than it appears on the photos. There is a lovely fresh odour in the house. The kitchen is beautiful and has everything you need. The entire house is spotlessly clean. The bedrooms are so big. Beds are comfy, good pillows, the bedding is of good quality, beautifully smelling. Lots of sockets in all the rooms. In the front bedroom there is a desk/dressing table. I would say take a mirror with you because there aren't any in the bedrooms. There is a full length mirror on the landing though with a socket nearby. The shower is the best ever!!! Hot water near enough instant. Heaven!! The property is about 20 minutes walk to the City centre- plenty of busses if you dont fancy the walk. Thank you Stuart, we loved staying at your lovely townhouse and if we ever come back to Durham we would look to stay with you again.

Great stay! The hot tub was lovely, really responsive over message! We had an issue with the sofa bed and the hosts came and sorted it and replaced the sofa. Amazing house, we had a fab time 🩷

Lovely stay!! Well equipped, homely and spotlessly clean. Peaceful campsite. Hot tub fab! Enjoyed exploring the local area: Spurn Point, Withernsea, Hornsea and Bridlington. Would definitely return.

We had a great stay and my young kids adored the nice collection of books and toys to play with. Everything was as described and very comfortable!

Lovely relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings with amazing private pool facilities. David was proactive and gave us all the info we needed to find the cottage and check in easily. Cottage was clean, spacious yet cosy and as per photos. Kitchen was extremely well kitted out. Kids loved the pool. Only slight issue was how hot the bedroom in the pool house was but it was a very hot weekend outside and it didn't spoil the stay. Thank you David, it was wonderful.

Had an amazing weekend at Rachael's caravan, this was our second visit and we 100% plan on coming again. Rachael is a wonderful host who is easy to contact and she takes pride in her beautiful caravan. The caravan was extremely clean, comfortable and very homely, as the weather was warm we spent most of our time outside on the decking which had plenty of seating space and the hot tub was a great added extra enjoyed mostly by the kids. There was plenty to do onsite including the swimming pool, a private dog park where you can let your doggos off lead and play. The staff at the main reception were friendly and helpful and the bar area was clean with lots food and drink options. We would highly recommend coming to stay at Serendipity and we will be visiting again.

what a beautiful bungalow, so clean and welcoming, home from home. One of the best welcome packs I have had, very practical as well as sweet treats, even a goody bag for our dog. The bed was very comfortable, bedrooms leads onto a lovely sunny conservatory which I so enjoyed sitting in. The kitchen is well equipped, we are very satisfied customer and will return.

we absolutely loved this place, it was so clean and tidy yet cosy. The location was perfect, it was so peaceful and relaxing. Deborah the host was super friendly and always replied quickly to any messages, her place really is beautiful and worth every penny! We will definitely love to go back again.

Mel and Jason’s place was lovely. Communications and instructions were super clear, and lots of ideas for places to go. I was there for a short weekend with my dog and the village was great for little dog walks and a good base for exploring. The place was lovely with everything you might need. I didn’t need any help but I was certain that if I did it would have been no problem. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Rachel was very responsive. And guided us air bnb virgins from first contact. The house was comfortable and warm and had everything we could possibly need. Very clean and the snacks left for us very welcome after a long trip x

beautiful cottage in a lovely village, beautiful enclosed garden pictures probably don't do it justice! cottage is lovely, lots of excellent appliances in the kitchen, ice maker was a big hit! beds are very comfortable and the eggs and wine gift was a wonderful touch. we had a fair few wasps in and around the hot tub area when the sun came out but there was some bug spray which seemed to discourage them eventually, a small price to pay for a wonderful setting!

Had a lovely stay and would really recommend Smugglers Rest. The highlight was the amazingly comfortable beds! We both slept so well. The location is central but quiet, Julie and her cohost were incredibly helpful ahead of check in and obviously keep the cottagw to a high standard. Many thanks for such a fab stay!

This is the 2nd time weve stayed here its home from home . Ive got a dog allergy ( my dog is hypoallergenic) but i did not react at all which means its been cleaned thoroughly . We couldnt find the hairdryer and tracey brought us one which avoided my teenage daughter having acomplete meltdown. Short walk to the beach and walk all the way into brid . There 4 days and only used £2 electricity . We call it our little heaven ...thanks for being great hosts !!!

Nice bungalow just as described, the location was excellent for us, lovely & peaceful but not too far out of the way. It’s very comfortable, warm & homely, the bed was very comfortable as was the lounge, the kitchen had everything you could need also there’s a nice back garden to relax in if you want to. To me the off street parking was a bonus as well, not having to carry bags too far is a definite bonus.
